"Tony P’s is the latest in a string of January closings that includes The Broker, a 45-year-old Broker, while others, such as Platform T, were newer to the Denver scene." - Josie Sexton

"A classic Denver steakhouse is officially closed at 821 17th Street. The Broker Restaurant served its final New Year’s Eve dinner Sunday after 45 years inside the old Denver National Bank building. Westword eulogizes the fine dining establishment, which was known for complimentary peel-and-eat shrimp and steakhouse offerings such as beefs Wellington and Oscar. Over its years, the restaurant has expanded and contracted from multiple neighborhood outposts to the final downtown destination. The Broker hosted generations of first dates, weddings, anniversaries, and other milestone celebrations, according to fans and patrons." - Josie Sexton

Great atmosphere paired with welcoming and attentive staff! We made a reservation on a Friday evening and could not be more pleased with the experience. Sarah, our wonderful server, made some great recommendations! We had a great experience and felt well taken care of from start to finish. The menu has a few great and a few "good" options. The wine list is better, but not the best. We ordered the Vivi Bulgaria Pinot noir (which was out of stock so our server offered a substitute and matched the cost) Now that's customer service! The shrimp cocktail sauce was slightly spicy but not overwhelming, and the Cesar dressing was excellent, fresh and noticing home made.

The atmosphere was very privileged, and the catering there had a bearing that's used to severing people with deeper pockets. Meal was cooked to perfection and the waiter never let our table of 8 drinks never get too empty. I Had a very good time over there, and it was very interesting eating in a bank vault for the first time. I'd recommend for a celebration or a milestone if you're looking for a background to match the occasion.

4 stars for the experience; intimate dining booths in the old vault. 2 stars for the food quality; everything was rather bland and poorly cooked. At these prices, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. Fine dining is easy to find in Denver.

Amazing time for New Year's eve. They let us have the 2 person Prix fixe menu for 2 kids and myself. Then found 2 Small lobster tails so each kiddo could have one. Really great service

Fantastic happy hour with a limited selection of decent beers, but an expansive appetizer menu at great prices. Fantastic atmosphere and great service.

We went for restaurant week and were really looking forward to the menu and atmosphere of The Broker. Honestly, it was a mediocre meal for a top notch price. We ordered some of their unique cocktails and the bread was outstanding. Parts of the meal were very good, but overall we were not impressed. I ordered the prime rib medium, and it was well done, which is a sin for prime rib. The broccoli that came with it was flavorless and barely warm. The creme brulee was definitely far from the best I've ever had. Our friends ordered the salmon and did say that it was great. I expected a lot more from a restaurant like this. It was a good experience, but I would never go back and pay full price for what had.

The atmosphere is wonderful and the experience is very fun! Great history and I felt like a million bucks! However, my $44 steak was supposed to be medium and came out extremely rare and it was VERY mediocre.. Also, no side included with the meal. Our waiter offered us soup and salad without mentioning that it was not included and was $9 a piece. My boyfriend ordered coffee and waited quite the while for it before eventually flagging down another waiter to get it for him. The coffee came to us at near room temperature. The hostess was a total sweetheart and was very helpful. The building and bathroom are beautiful. But the food is nowhere worth the price. And the service is just plain awful.

I went to the broker for happy hour. It's from 3 to 6 and they have awesome food and drink specials. The jalapeño cheese spinach dip we had was delicious as were the lamb meatball and lobster and crab stuffed mushrooms. The atmosphere is so unique being in an old bank vault. Their food is a bit pricey for dinner but nice for a special occasion. I will definitely go to the happy hour again!
