If you are looking for somewhere with atmosphere to catch a game and grab brunch (or something to eat), look no further. The Bronx Public is a comfortable, familiar sports bar/restaurant with bottomless drink options at brunch on weekends. They offer a variety of 90 min bottomless flavoured mimosas, sangrias and a few other cocktails. After getting word that its gets super crowded once it’s game time, my cousin and I got to the spot early because we didn’t have a reservation! Luckily it was super quick getting us seated, and we were told we had to wrap up before the next reservation time; which worked out great. Overall it was a good experience. The food and drinks were okay/good… And most importantly you can tell that this is a spot which is a regular for people living nearby.

Google
As a reviewer, The Bronx Public caught my attention with its lively atmosphere and inviting vibe. Located on 231st St in the Bronx, this spot has a lot going for it, making it a great place to unwind with friends or enjoy a casual night out. The first thing you’ll notice is the cool, modern decor that gives the place a relaxed yet trendy feel. Whether you’re sitting at the bar or grabbing a table, the ambiance is perfect for a laid-back evening. The crowd is a good mix of locals, and the energy is upbeat without being overwhelming. The menu is what you’d expect from a solid pub—comfort food with a twist. The burgers are definitely a highlight, juicy and packed with flavor, and the fries are just the right level of crispy. The drink menu is also impressive, offering a range of craft beers, creative cocktails, and some classic favorites. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re in the mood for a strong drink or something more refreshing. Service here is generally good, with friendly staff who are attentive and ready to help. There were a couple of moments where things slowed down a bit, but nothing that detracted too much from the overall experience. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in for a while, enjoy your food and drinks, and not feel rushed. Overall, The Bronx Public delivers on what it promises—a solid neighborhood pub with good food, great drinks, and a lively atmosphere. It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and looking for a spot to relax and enjoy some quality pub fare.

When we saw this place on social media we were hype to check it out. But it's really more bar than restaurant. It's really small. The regular seating in the back is super cramped and they literally time you and kick you out your table for 2hr seating schedule. We saw folks have to pick up their drinks and squish stand in the cramped bar area. Food was mid...we got there between brunch and regular dining so it wasn't worth it to order from that menu but we couldn't order off the main menu till Brunch was officially over. So we ordered apps from the Brunch menu, wings and cheesy bread. After waiting the 30 min we order fr regular menu. Food was nothing special, my BFF's steak was dry and burnt even though she asked for med. well. I had the Cuban sandwich it was OK but also dry. The seasoned fries were just regular fries with old bay on them...very salty. We ordered a pitcher of the Bourbon Punch for 2 expected to get a lil buzz....and nothing. Our waitress disappeared mid service and we had to ask for our bill from someone-else. I hope she got that tip bc we still do that. This spot is not for kids or older folks. Also they have someone circling around taking video for socials and that was annoying as well. I didn't consent to be filmed while eating my food.

Google
Their service was good the food came out pretty quickly. We had wings, street corn, and the biscuits for appetizers. They were all pretty good but nothing to write home about. I had the steak and fries but I found the steak too salty for me. I didn't like the rum punch at all but it's strong and one of the guys at our table enjoyed it.

Google
all i gotta say is 10/10 would recommend! as soon as i opened the door i was greeted and seated. my friend and i shared the chopped cheese spring rolls and they were good! i had the classic burger and my friend had the crispy chicken sandwich. passionfruit margarita is always a must and it was made very well! andira was a great waitress as well, look for her when you go!

Google
Food was really good. I had the crispy chicken sandwich and it tasted really good. I also had the henny punch and it was soooooooooo good. Normally when I have a drink that includes punch it always has a like a empowering taste of orange but not this drink, it was more of a mango taste which surprised me that I had to get two. They do have happy hour but I got there after happy hour so not sure how their happy hour is but I am going to try brunch. The server was great except that I guess I got there when it was busy but I do not like having to call the server I rather have the server come to me and ask if I need anything else, other than that it was great 👍 5/5

Google
I was really disappointed. I was looking forward to trying BP for a while and brought my siblings for brunch. The brunch menu is already pretty limited and no non-pork options for bacon/sausage etc. and then things weren't available on top of that. Four times we asked for something and was told they don't have it right now. And then the food itself was all very bland. Burgers didn't have any salt or pepper. Pancakes didn't even have fresh fruit or something. The flavoured butters weren't taken out of fridge early enough so it was hard to spread. Overall, felt like I would have been better off at IHOP which is sad. 😔 The wings were pretty good. That's about it. And the server was nice; he did his best.

Google
I’ll start with the cons and end with the pros… The only con was the fried chicken sandwich’s breading was falling apart from the chicken making the whole sandwich a big jumbled mess. Sad to say I couldn’t enjoy that along with the fries the were full of oil Now on to the pros first of all is in the Bronx, which I love and appreciate. I liked their happy hour special which includes any of their happy hour drinks with 3 tacos! We had the steak tacos & just wow, super tender and great taste. (any choice of protein is included) For happy hour we ordered a rum punch that was not strong and a mule which was very tasty. The best thing on the drink menu has to be the “Catch A flight” A tasting of 4 different types of whiskeys for $30. Now that’s an amazing deal, my friend and I treated it like a whiskey tasting lol I would come here again just for that!

Yelp
It's been two years since my last visit & came to update my review to give them the extra star they were missing. This will definitely be my go-to game day spot. The wings are great and decently priced & the atmosphere is top notch for any sporting event.

Yelp
Made a reservation, and first impressions were good. the first seating they placed us had a broken table so they moved us which was nice they let us pick any spot. the place had Good ambiance with good music that set a good vibe and plenty of tvs to watch sports game. The service was good too our waiter always stopped by to check on us if we need anything. they also gave good recommendations on the menu. the beverages like the mule were good and the food was okay, albeit a bit overpriced for the area. we got quesadillas, wings, sliders, and 2 basket of fries with plenty of drinks. they also tacked on a mandatory 20% gratuity for a party of 3. the beverages were pretty good i enjoyed it. i'll definitely come back !

Yelp
This place I had seen in instant gram. Decided to drive 1 1/2 hours just to experience where I grew up. Nice spot got greeted and seated immediately. The dj was playing tech house music. Love the ambiance ppl were friendly. Service was on point. Ordered chili wings which was tasty and garlicky. Also the Cuban egg rolls were delicious. Drinks are tasty. The interior of this place looks like the 80's with graffiti all over the walls included the restrooms. I will recommend ppl who wants to go back into time THIS IS THE PLACE!! Parking is hard so good luck

Mercedes R.

Yelp
No complaints at all! Cute and cozy establishment. Playing new and old school music. Celebrated a Birthday with a party of 18. Service was excellent! The food was delicious! They have a prefix menu option for $40 pp with 2 hour unlimited mimosa, sangria or draft beer. You can also order from their regular brunch menu and add the unlimited 2 hr drinks. Highly Recommend! We will definitely be back

Yelp
I came here with some friends. It's your everyday sports bar with a handful of TVs tuned into sports. There is a front area and a smaller back room as well but overall the place is not big. The place does have a good vibe and is mostly full of locals. They have games to play as well such as Uno and Jenga. The menu is your standard bar food (burgers, quesadillas, wings). For me, nothing really stood out about this place. As mentioned, it's an average sports bar you see in any neighborhood.

Angie G.

Yelp
The staff here is amazing, we loved coming here for their Taco Tuesday Special! Would recommend the wings aswell, but the DRINKS?! They hit everytime!

Yami A.

Yelp
Went to this location twice within last year. My biggest issue is that even if I scheduled a reservation, the hostess has to remind us that we only have a specific time frame because she has the spaced reserved for others. It's happen the two times I been here. Imagine going here for the first time and feeling like you better eat quick coz there going to throw you out the tables are reserved. Making reservation the next time to be told the same thing. Main reason I didn't give it a higher score and have not been back. Other than that, the food was delicious and the drink were great. The music and ambience were good. The waitress was nice and friendly.

Kimberly B.

Yelp
I had horrible experience here. I walked in on happy hour actually 30 minutes before happy hour finished which should still be happy hour but in this economy, they're trying to get whatever money they can because a few drinks and wings during happy hour. Remind you, it was $300.

Brittany A.

Yelp
I saw the r&b first Saturdays on Instagram and thought making the trip to the Bronx could be cool with good music and good looking food. It was impossible to make a reservation for the brunch. I tried for November and December and decided my friends and I would just show up and hope to get a spot. We arrived at 2. Parking isn't the best around there. We were able to put our names down but were told we wouldn't be seated until 3:30. We hung out by the bar. Got drinks. We waited the hour and a half and we're not able to get a table. There was a party in the back and the place isn't that large so that could be why we were unable to be seated. We slowly got seats at the bar and maybe around 4:30 we were able to secure 3 seats together. The bartender was confused when my friend order our drinks (which were listed on the menu) so that was like .. what didn't you get? I had the pumpkin spice espresso martini for my drink. It was really rich and tasty. The flavor or spices on top got annoying towards the ending though. The water from the bar tasted weird to me but I think it was all the pumpkin spice flavor I had coating my mouth lol And we ordered food at the bar as well and it was almost like the guy dropping the food off and the bar tenders were trying to avoid eye contact with us so we couldn't ask for anything else lol I mean i guess I shouldn't be expecting the best food service seated at the bar but they could have checked in. The food wasn't bad. I had a veggie burger with fries. They had old bay fries which I was under the impression my friend ordered for me. My fries seemed regular. the veggie burger was okay but since they weren't taking real food orders at the bar it was literally just a patty on bread. The patty was flavorful but no bread/biscuit basket like they advertised in that Instagram and I didn't have the opportunity to make it any better. The spot was cute. Lots of people. It got HOT in there but the 2 DJs were great and the music was a vibe. If I was able to make a reservation for brunch I'd return. The people at the tables looked like there were having a great time lol I'd say we enjoyed ourselves but it could have been better with proper seating.

Julia S.

Yelp
The vibes and music were okay but the food was less than average. The service was average. My stomach has been on FIRE since I had brunch yesterday. The food tasted like it was cooked and reheated. I will not be coming back.

Sarah S.

Yelp
I recently visited The Bronx Public for a Sunday Brunch. It was easy to make a reservation, and we were seated quickly. The music was great, and so was the overall ambiance. Our server, Juan, was attentive and friendly. I chose the $40 brunch pre-fixe menu, which was a great value for the offerings. It included a bottomless drink choice of sangria or mimosas. Unfortunately, that is where the positivity in this review ends; the food arrived very quickly - alarmingly quick for food being made to order. We placed our order, and it was on our table within 5 minutes. This should have been a red flag for the dishes we ordered. My friend ordered the chicken and waffles, and I had the pancakes. While the food arrived warm, not hot - the pancakes were tough, and my friend's waffle was on the harder side. The maple syrup was very obviously imitation - think Mrs. Butterworth. Overall, our mediocre food choices were not a dealbreaker for us returning to this establishment. It's possible they have options we would prefer. However, the stomach ailment that took place in the following hours after brunch is the reason I will not come back. I will spare Yelp the gory details. The food arriving so quickly, combined with it being only slightly warm and slightly hard, leads me to believe that it was not made to order. This also makes me believe that the food is what contributed to my friend and I's very upset stomachs following our meal and drinks. While the music and service were great, the food was not worth risking illness for, so I will not be returning to the Bronx public.

Haley M.

Yelp
A hidden gem on 231st. If you're looking for bottomless brunch in the Bronx, this should be high on your list! They have good food, vibes, and bumping music. Their homemade biscuits are to die for. Definitely get the prix fixe for unlimited mimosas, sangria or beer for two hours!

Luis I.

Yelp
Good spot for a drink great oldies Saturday night definitely a little gem in the Bronx good luck guys

Jordan C.

Yelp
When I heard that there was a cute cabin in the Bronx that was serving brunch I knew I had to go! Everything was amazing from the decor to the service, we even had a little heater inside of our cabin to keep us warm. We started out with a bottomless pitcher of Bellini's which were ap good and the complimentary biscuits, we got cheddar and regular they came with honey butter raspberry butter and chive cream oh my gosh so delicious. I got the steak and eggs, and my friend got the chicken and waffles we are both on our way by how good the food was! And end at all we had the strawberry shortcake and the donuts cut, I also had the smoked old fashion to end the meal wow so great if you're in the Bronx area stop by!

Jordan W.

Yelp
This place is pretty impressive and I did like the ambiance. The bar set up is nice as well , sort of as you enter and just walk you would definitely see the bar right there. I am not one to always come to this 231 street area but the nights I did visit, it was definitely worth the trip. Tried the burger one time and it was cooked just the right way and fries were good as well. Drink wise here, margarita was a nice choice and beer flights looked impressive but I did not try it. Staff was friendly and overall price was not so bad.

Freedom W.

Yelp
GREAT DRINKS! Just ate off the apps menu. My only downside is the cold draft that comes through at times. I look forward to returning.

Emily P.

Yelp
Bronx Public is a dope spot on the corner of 231st that has cool art, good comfort food, and reps the Bronx Brewing Company with pride. We stopped in on a Saturday night to an almost-full dining room, and private party being set up in the back. Our server was quick and friendly, equipped with a tablet to take our orders efficiently. They have a decent list of classic cocktails and craft brews. To eat, we got the chicken and waffles and the crispy chicken sandwich. The waffles were super fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. They were delicious, especially with the syrup. The chicken was juicy and well-seasoned. The crispy chicken sandwich was much like the chicken I had on my plate. I would definitely return in the near future.

Sharisse B.

Yelp
This review is for last night. My family & friends left the funeral home on Broadway & we were hungry. We walked to Bronx Public & asked for a table of 8. They couldn't seat us all together. They could split us up into 2 tables. I didn't realize that the word spread & it ended up being more like 16 of us. The venue worked with us & everyone was eventually able to stay & enjoy the food, drinks, & great atmosphere. I was happy they could accommodate us all. In a time of grief that vibe was just what we needed. Thank you for your amazing customer service last night, it was just what was needed to lift everyone's spirits. The food & drinks were amazing as usual. Friday is ladies night. I ordered a margaritas. My second drink was a rum punch & that was the star of the night for me. I ordered two of my favorite apps last night the sliders & the plantain chips.

Derrick B.

Yelp
I had a fantastic time celebrating the New Years 2024 at the Bronx Public. I hadn't initially planned on it, but they started passing out hats! The staff was incredibly attentive, and the food was on point. Plus, the DJ played the hits, keeping the packed crowd Lit!

Akira C.

Yelp
Loved the decor and ambiance of the place. The music gave off nice, chill vibes. The place wasn't too loud like most brunch spots. The service was great and the staff friendly from the time we walked in. We all enjoyed our food as well. I'll deff bisit again!

Eliana C.

Yelp
Ordered the mango habanero wings they were mid. Not spicy at all just felt like it had mango purée all over the wings. The vibes there are really cool though, good drinks and they also have games like uno and jenga. Service was good too friendly staff.

Isabel L.

Yelp
The food is unimpressive and the staff is not diligent. The atmosphere is too loud, and crowded. Overall poor service and management.

Haydee N.

Yelp
I love Bronx Public. I have been here a few times and always have had a good experience. The workers are very helpful and they make sure you have a good experience. The food is great. The atmosphere is great. You don't feel like you are rushed at all. I would suggest you get there early because it does get full fast.

Ervin M.

Yelp
This place used to better when it was under different ownership. We had to send back our burger and wings back because the wings were undercooked, and the burger was overcooked. When they came out the second time, they were slightly better but not the temperature we ordered. The burger was not medium, and the wings were still soggy. And then we were told that we could not cut the cake we brought even though we were told we could do so. The excuse was covid, which makes no sense. The manager was rude, so we just left and will not be coming back. This place is not the same as when it was piper's kilt. RUN FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!!

Fatima B.

Yelp
I love this spot for low key brunch waffles and chicken are bangin! Love the bartender she was the sweetest! Service was attentive but not annoying:)

Ashly D.

Yelp
The place has become a staple in the Bronx. Great ambiance and food. This is the perfect spot for a local night out. The service is good and the staff are pretty friendly and attentive. I LOVE their mac and cheese among the other dishes. I recommend!

Joe t.

Yelp
Was pretty good had chicken and waffles and cheesesteak egg rolls but good server was mad nice

Rose Q.

Yelp
The fried chicken was soggy and tasteless. The restaurant was very cold and uncomfortable. My friend has back problem, but the staff still ask us to move to the bar table to make place for someone come later than us. Because they want to take over the whole place for a birthday party with teenagers. We couldn't move because my friend's back problem. And the other group was very unhappy. I still don't understand why they are willing to ask and move everybody (three tables) to make space for one group that come late. Also the bathroom was very stinky. We had good mode and very happy to try this place and didn't get a good experience. The two starts are for the waiter and waitress was very friendly and attentive.

CA-Tour T.

Yelp
Great customer service. Great ambience. Music is popping. If you're looking for a date night hanging out with the girls, this is the best place. Surprisingly, I came on this Saturday and it wasn't full of people. Got the $40 prefix meal. Sangria delicious. Chicken biscuit sandwich with sweet potato fries was Amazing. Definitely will come again. Sonya was friendly and quick.

Letia C.

Yelp
Cool little spot uptown, good for happy hour. They have table games (uno and Jenna) while you wait for your food. Predominately for an older crowd. The food was good and the music was nice.

Nadine M.

Yelp
The wings are great. Chop cheese springs rolls -Come out nice and hot. Entrees weee great as well. Stay away from the biscuits. They come out Luke warm, small and square. Dry! Please regroup and do better there. I'm sorry no excuses

Justean D.

Yelp
Food was good. Happy hour drinks are nice and ambiance was good. We got the chopped cheese rolls, lemon pepper wings and Cuban sandwich.

Thuan N.

Yelp
The Bronx public is a place you want to check out if you are looking for both a good time and good eats. Their biscuits were solid and tasted home cooked fresh! I picked the salmon salad as my entree and boy! I have never had a salmon so perfectly seared and cooked to perfection! Food was wonderful. Music playlist was popping!! Vibe check for sure! Will be back!!!

Genesis G.

Yelp
Super cool environment with cool vibes. The food and music is always on point. The staff is attentive and they don't hover over you every 10 minutes. They let you just vibe and be and enjoy your time. Everything on the menu is great. I love the tacos and cheeseburger spring rolls. Great deals for taco Tuesday and weekend brunches!

Xenia M.

Yelp
So glad I finally got to try the Bronx Public. I ordered via Seamless and my food came in no time. I got the vegan chopped cheese which was so good! It was a decent sized portion and you could barely notice it wasn't real meat. The show stopper was definitely the rosé donuts which I highly recommend! I'm a big donut person, so I was so pleased with this!

Iris t.

Yelp
Great ambiance! Went for brunch on a Saturday. Had the burger and fries it was sooo good! My friends had the chicken & waffles and it was just as delicious. The dj was playing all 90s music which we love & the mimosas kept coming , the waitress just brought out pitchers to our table. I totally recommend great vibes , great food ! Cant go wrong when you choose to come by every night of the week theres diff themes like game night, ladies night r&b night! Isssaaa whole vibe!

Ariadna V.

Yelp
Got a Togo order of wings, sliders and fries. The wait was very short! Loved that, and got an order of 32oz Miami vice, which was def worth the price considering you could actually taste the liquor. Our host Delaney was super nice and friendly. Would come back again!

Luis M.

Yelp
Dope spot. Good food and great music. Drinks on point. Went for R&B brunch. Will be back again!

Sheyla E.

Yelp
Definitely recommend if you're looking for good vibes and a place to get together with friends. Not too loud but just enough umph to it to feel like you're doing more than a restaurant service was pretty on point towards the end we had to ask for check, extra drinks but nothing too much. Food was great. I ordered the chicken sandwich.

Raymond A.

Yelp
The food is absolutely greasy and old tasting, let's hope I don't end up with food poisoning on this one...

Stephanie W.

Yelp
Went after work for happy hour. The vibe was chill, food was good, sangria was good. Will def go back!!

Awilda C.

Yelp
Hint Hint: Best Nachos in the Area!! I have had the pleasure to visit this amazing place in The Bronx twice.. first time, I went for a night out with my girlfriends, and another occasion to watch a Basketball game, both times have been really busy but for some reason the workers can manage crowds lol.. I really recommend this place for a fun night out, they also have games which makes everything even better and more exciting!

Monique C.

Yelp
Not for me. Rustic, hip hop Bronx ambiance. Which was the best thing about this restaurant. Stool seating in the front part of the restaurant. Rather uncomfortable for me. Not to mention they really pack you in next to others tables. They even tried to sit somebody behind us in like a mini table and both my party and the other party looked at the hostess like are you kidding me? We started off with a round of old fashions for the table. Beautiful presentation, however, we all found it to be way too smoky. I couldn't drink mine, I told my waitress (I won't mention her name for her privacy) she didn't even offer me something different. She wasn't a great waitress, rarely checked on us and being that we were sitting close to the bar and the kitchen we could see when our food and drinks were ready and sitting for a prolonged time before other kitchen staff brought them over to us. They automatically include 18% gratuity on the bill, so I guess she had no incentive to work for her money. Anywho, the menu was limited. No seafood option, I was hoping for some chicken fingers or fried shrimp but wasn't on the menu. I ended up getting the Buffalo chicken Mac and cheese and it was yuck. My husband ordered chicken and waffles, he said it was cold and the waffles were hard and the chicken lacked seasoning. He said it tasted like it was fried in old oil. The birthday boy ordered a burger and he said it was good (he'll eat anything though). My other friend ordered a fried chicken sandwich and he said it was okay. Both of their orders came with fries and it was not plentiful. We jokingly laughed and said it looked like they counted the fries to ensure that they each got 10 each lol. Overall, I wouldn't recommend. There are better bar lounges. Drive to Throgs Neck and go to HK or Casa or something. This place isn't worth it.

Yelp
What can I say about this place, I visited this place when it used to be Piper's Kilt. Back then it had a nice atmosphere, we knew the owners and bartenders which was great. The wings were great and their burgers. Since owners changed we rarely go, it's not the same, more of a sports bar.

Yelp
Love this place so much. Good vibes good food. Vegan chopped cheese is my absolute fave. The smoked old fashioned is a must. I've celebrated my birthday here. Had brunch here. My best friend and I come alllll the time just to hang out. Best spot on this side of the bronx for sure.

Yelp
Wings and rum punch are pretty good, for a Friday night it was a pretty chill vibe. Thought of it as a cool local spot to visit and may visit again if I'm the area

Yelp
All around a good time. Came here for brunch and I had a great experience. The vibes, customer service, food and drink were all pretty great. For drinks I got the passion fruit mimosa ( not pictured) and the iced cafe con leche with Baileys. Both were good, but my favorite was the mimosa. The coffee drink was great, but lost a bit of creaminess due to the amount of ice, but no big deal because next time I will just ask for less ice. For my meal I got the steak and eggs, which came with home fries. The steak was actually cooked to medium and the home fries were actually seasoned to perfection. I don't want pleasantly surprised because at most places the home fries are a bland afterthought. The playlist was great, although I wished there was a DJ. Our server was Natalie and she was so sweet and attentive. All in all it was a nice brunch vibe. Glad I didn't have to make the trip to Harlem or Brooklyn to enjoy a good brunch. I'll definitely be back !
