Google
Wonderful brunch spot! The previous reviews left me feeling cautious, I'm glad I didn't let that stop me. Really good food with unbeatable prices! The omelet was delicious. The red potatoes were delicious. The French toast was delicious. The coffee was fresh and refilled often. Friendly staff, attentive servers, and overall welcoming environment. 10/10 recommend

Google
Super cute family restaurant! Diner style food with generous portions, pancakes from actual heaven, proper hashbrowns AND breakfast potatoes. Chilaquiles were loaded, downright gluttonous, and so satisfying. Can't wait to come back!

2024-06-14 - came for breakfast. Food is pretty standard for what you’d find at a Perkins or ihop, nothings that would make it a destination spot but would stop again if in the area. Had the biscuits and gravy - they were ok, gravy is missing something - could use more pepper - plus they used cut up sausage links which means the gravy isn’t made with the sausage fat which I think doesn’t give it as much flavor. Has browns and eggs were done well. Husband had a sausage and onion omelet and he enjoyed it, again nothing special. Waitress was nice. Food was slow especially for breakfast considering we were the only people in the restaurant, but nothing crazy slow.

Google
Delicious food, good service, reasonable prices. Good coffee, too. Big cafe, lots of tables and booths. Update: getting up to 86F today (Sunday), and this place is hotter than the weather! Full house for Mother’s Day! Got the Deluxe Omelette with rye toast. They make delicious omelettes here. Servers are scrambling to get things done. Nice place to eat!

Google
This was my first time going to this restaurant and most definitely will be back pancakes for very fluffy along with a sweet buttermilk flavor yummy French toast with excellent their mango juice was most definitely pure we order the steak omelette phenomenal cook perfect had no complaints and I'm very picky love the amount of onions and mushrooms portions most definitely you're going to be leaving with a doggie bag LOL this is the most definitely a cozy unique lovable place to meet it's small but it's very sizable I also love the Cubby's!.. I'm not sure the history of the Chef but honey I hope he stays his food is five stars I'm surprised there's never a line outside the door!..

Google
Amazing breakfast food with lots of options! We had the country fried steak, steak burrito, and pancakes. Some of the best pancakes I have ever had, so fluffy. The burrito was huge and queso was tasty. Been looking for a good place with country fried steak and this was great! I would say it would be nice to have some music playing and not TV’s on. Kind of disorienting to have TV playing behind us.

Google
I only got potatoes and pancakes but they were extremely tasty and the menu is decently sized. Staff was all nice, and the interior is nice as well although there is not a huge amount of tables. Definitely a new local favorite for sure.

Google
I wandered in at a slow hour, moping & sad about life. I got the chilaquiles with pancakes. Quick service, nice presentation, sizable portions, and most importantly it all tasted very good. I'm obsessed with trying chilaquiles everywhere I go. Unlike too many places, the chilaquiles weren't cooked to mush but had the right crunch and bite. I left happy and full, with a new go-to neighborhood spot. What more could you want?

Yelp
I think this is a newer place in South Minneapolis, that was easy to find. It is a large enough space with plenty of seating, with sort of antique like decor. You can see the kitchen right when you walk in and the cooks had smiles on their face greeting customers. They have a fairly large menu with all day breakfast and some lunch options, lots of variety to satisfy just about anyone. The server was also friendly. I will say it took a little longer than expected to get our food, but it ended up being OK. Prices are what you would expect for a diner. There is no parking lot but a fair amount of free street parking. They also have a few outside tables as well

Yelp
Nice spot for a classic American style breakfast. Very no frills, and I always prefer that when it comes to breakfast. I got their good morning breakfast and it was good, eggs were done well and the hash browns were yummy. The other people in my group ordered the pancakes, and those were super yummy (I tried some) and definitely worth a try if you're considering! Service was good although some of our orders were incorrect (wrong bread/toast). Nothing crazy though. Overall a good spot for an easy meal.

Yelp
Food is good and reasonably priced. The service has always been superb. A great neighborhood eatery!

Yelp
The food is good and the people are friendly. I sat outside and enjoyed the warm weather. Breakfast and lunch are both affordable.

Yelp
Cooks and server greeted us all smiling when we arrived. Service was quick and we ordered off the breakfast menu. Good portions and very tasty Denver omelette and eggs Benedict. Definitely will return and try lunch menu next

Yelp
I was really hoping this place would be good because it's super cute inside and the staff were friendly. Unfortunately the food took soooo long, our waitress came back only to take our order and hand us our food. Which was upsetting bc u wanted a refill and to ask for more food. Fries were not seasoned the French toast didn't taste like anything but egg and bread. The eggs and bacon were pretty good. The chicken fried streak was okay and not super big. Hashbrowns were delicious (we asked for crispy).

Yelp
I've been here twice now and the food is exceptional! The atmosphere is calming and welcoming and the staff is so kind. Highly recommend for a nice breakfast!

Yelp
The Brothers Café, despite its friendly staff, falls short in several areas. The decor lacks comfort, and the food and coffee consistently disappoint. On multiple occasions, my orders were incorrect or frankly inedible, and the apologies didn't make up for the subpar experience. While the french fries were admittedly ok (unseasoned but fine, fresh and crispy), the lackluster truck stop coffee, soggy BLT, and oddball fish sandwich all left me completely unsatisfied. Even the hash browns missed the mark with their mushiness and weird taste of something left on the grill. But what truly baffled me was their consistent lack of effort to make things right. Twice out of three visits, I pushed my plate aside, barely touching anything. Instead of offering to fix the issues or take something off the tab, the servers simply apologized and retreated with my fullish plates, bill in tow. On one occasion, eggs arrived without the cheese option that was discussed, and when I finally flagged down that server, they apologized profusely for not writing down my order correctly. But here's the thing: an apology doesn't replace a meal. Eggs are cheap and quick to prepare--why not remake them? Is a happy customer not worth the extra $1 and 5 mintues it would cost them? Apparently not. And no, the restaurant wasn't busy at the time; there were just a few tables occupied, as usual. Yet, the response remained the same: "Sorry, sorry, sorry," and I left hungry and $20 lighter in funds. Honestly, I didn't want to write a negative review for a family-owned business, considered just remaining silent but they had three chances to get it right, and they missed the mark on nearly everything. Food waste and customer money down the drain is no kind of business model! Maybe this warning will save someone else from a similar experience. Perhaps the unfortunately negative reviews might even hasten the inevitable, making way for a new establishment that knows what it's doing and is willing to fit the expectations of the customer. Or maybe I'm just screaming at clouds and angry at myself for giving them two more chances after that bizarre tasting batterless skin-on fish sandwich (replete with little fishbones!) But my gut tells me that Brothers won't improve. They're obviously thirsty for business (No fewer than 8 pieces of signage announcing they are NOW OPEN outside), yet they've hired inexperienced servers who can't handle issues effectively and a cook who doesn't know a saucepan from a ramekin. The fish sandwich was the only thing I've had there that was actually seasoned, and poorly so (it's not hard: beer batter, salt, pepper, butter, maybe some lemon is how it's typically done, not sandy colored mystery spices) Put plainly, this is a café that lacks passion for food and coffee and it shows. What's the point of an all-day breakfast (and lunch and dinner! Why by the way?) cafe with items devoid of comfort or flavor, no Wi-Fi, dumpster juice coffee, and a depressing and disjointed atmosphere? The Brothers needs a complete Gordon Ramsey level intervention, or they'll be gone soon. And yes, I'm writing this review while hangry! But who is to blame for that?

Yelp
I thought it was just a breakfast place, a very good one. Boy, was I wrong. Check out their new, glossy menu. Two big pages of goodies! From pancakes and omelets to Delmonico steak and shrimp, this place has a well-chosen selection of tempting treats. Emphasis on American and Mexican breakfasts, American and Italian lunch and dinner. As with my first look, the coffee is hot and good, a light brew. Service is quick and polite. More servers! She said it's getting busy on weekends. Ambiance is same, tho spring approaches. A few stray flakes of snow drift past the huge picture window. Cloudy and brisk. Nice and warm inside. I ordered the pulled pork hash breakfast, adding an order of fries to go. It really does help when the cook is also the owner. These guys groc advanced food prep, including fine slicing onions and green peppers, as well as proper browning of potatoes. Little details separate this place from a Denny's, which otherwise serves adequate food. The Brothers takes you far beyond that. Every penny well spent. Great place to eat...but no Wi-Fi.

Yelp
Love their pancakes, when I can get them. I get them to go, but whenever I go, they are closed. According to their app, they are supposed to be open. Very disappointing. Went specifically after work, said they were open till eight, at 4:45 doors were locked.

Joe S.

Yelp
I have to be honest. You can't make a good omelette starting from liquid eggs. You have to crack some eggs open and scramble them first. My pancakes fell apart while eating them. These cakes are from a box mix and not from scratch. These brothers should take notes from a place just around the corner from them which serves arguably the best cakes in town. Come on you CAN do better. This place has that comfy cafe look like it has been around for a while. Our server was very friendly and spot on with our service. With a little bit more effort to update the quality this place could be a winner.

Yelp
It wasn't busy when I went. Service was fine. I had Eggs Benedict with hashbrowns, coffee. Good all'round. I may go back today. Just too many teevees, turned on and no one watching them.

Yelp
Newish breakfast and lunch joint. Been here twice now, really reasonable prices, really solid food. Really like their French toast.

Yelp
It is a very big honor to be able to say I ate here. The food and service were both great and I will definitely come back.

Yelp
The Brother's Cafe has amazing breakfast and lunch, food fantastic, hispanic servers are lovely, and it feels like a "real" diner in NYC, which we love. However, if you go KNOW that the foods takes a very long time to come from the kitchen (the brothers need to both be cooking and not just one in the kitchen), ensure that if you take something to go that you are CLEAR that you want it made WITH your dine-in food, or you'll be waiting forever to get the "to go" order. The bathrooms are the most unclean bathrooms we have ever been in and smell like sewage. This needs to be addressed, quickly and seriously. We continue to come as the food is great. But, the turnover of their tables and thus the money they are losing must be outrageous as it is so slow. I really hope they can address these things as I don't think they will make it in this city. Too many good things not to write this and hope that they will be addressed somehow. Plan for a lot of sitting time; bring a book, computer, etc. It is a GREAT little place, but has some serious things that need to be addressed.

Suz W.

Yelp
Can't tell you about their food. They don't greet you when you come in. Finally we were sent to a table in the back. After waiting 15min without any service we left.

David C.

Yelp
Really wanted to like this place. On the plus side, they were friendly and food wasn't bad for what it is. Unfortunately, they were under staffed and were slow to refill coffees, waters, etc. Also, they messed up the order (forgot to leave cheese off omelette as requested). When we tried to send it back they said the cooks had messed up too many orders already and we would have to eat it as is. No discount or any other attempt to resolve. Won't be going back.

Melissa D.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised by this little cafe. Really enjoyed the Philly sandwich. Delicious chocolate lava cake! Friendly & efficient service. The dining area could use some updating but overall good food & service at a very reasonable price. Nice little addition to the neighborhood. Will return.

Luc J.

Yelp
Horrible Horrible restaurant! I have ordered from them multiple times and they always send out the wrong order and they will not provide any utensils or syrup or anything. They want u to eat your food dry and eat it with your hand. Someone needs to show them how the restaurant business actually works.
