The Buff Restaurant

My mom and I were visiting Colorado from East Tennessee and we decided to stop here for brunch. Our server Natalie was incredible and so sweet. She was very attentive and welcoming. Coming from a southern gal, their biscuits and gravy are 10/10. My mom loved her omelette and the breakfast potatoes. We shared the white buffalo cakes, and oh my god, & I wish I could find those in TN. A great experience all around!!

My friend Laura and I hadn’t seen each other in a while because she now lives outside of Colorado for the most part. We decided on the Buff for lunch, which I like to go to because their food has been really really fresh and tasty and always presented very artfully and beautiful. And the service is always warm and inviting. Today, although our server was friendly, he was also brisk and to the point, which is OK but he did come to our table asking if we were ready several times which got to be a bit annoying. He also called me dear, which I don’t really appreciate these days. Perhaps it’s my age. Or perhaps it’s because I don’t like strangers acting as if they know me really well when they don’t. Laura and I both ended up ordering the exact same thing: chili (the chili that’s not spicy and it has meat in it) and salad and the plate comes with homemade corn chips that are thick and pretty yummy tasting. The price was right at $10 for a meal that was not too much food or too little food. It was kind of like the three bears idea where the quantity was just enough. I will definitely go back because I do like their food quite a bit there, their service and when you sit in the side room, it’s quieter and feels rather intimate in the booth.

Some of the best breakfast food we have had in the US! Coffees were delicious, fresh squeezed orange juice and sourdough with a side of avocado was so yummy! We split the fruit platter and it was so yummy and fresh! The bacon and French toast were also divine! Good vibes and great service! A wonderful breakfast date or family outing!

Super busy, but turnover was so fast. Waited approximately 10 min during brunch time on a Sunday. Our server was attentive, helped us with the menu and gave us suggestions. The food came out incredibly quick and delicious!! Would definitely go back if i was local.

Relaxed atmosphere. Great variety in menu - breakfast and lunch for options of all kinds of diets… including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. Service fast and friendly. Food is exceptional - there were three of us and we all remarked on how delicious it was. Highly recommended.

Came to Boulder with my family for father’s day. The Buff breakfast sandwich was amazing. Simple but delicious. The potatoes on the side were the cherry on top. The honey vanilla latte was delicious & good size too!! Definitely worth a try. It does get busy but the staff does a great job seating parties effectively. Our server Kanani was kind, welcoming & attentive. Will be back (:

Arrived at 930am on a Sunday morning. Very little wait time to be seated, 10 minutes tops. The waitress was very attentive to our needs. Our order was placed, and within 10 minutes, our food was available. The atmosphere was very receptive and welcoming. The price for the meals are on par with surrounding restaurants. Definitely will be back.

OMG. First of all - I am not a brunch person. HOWEVER NEVER in my life have I been so happy eating simple breakfast food to the point we wanted to come back 2 days later!! Houston girl visiting Colorado and I wasn't expecting to find this gem. The plate sizes are huge (yeehaw cause darn it, I love my Texas size food) and it's very creamy and flavorful. It was a nice touch that they would do $0.99 for 3 drinks (mimosa, tequila sunrise, and Bloody Mary mimosa. We ordered the white buffalo pancakes and rustic Benedict. 12/10 recommend for these two! The server was nice and knowledgeable, and she knew when to bring out the next drink which was a plus. :) The area was clean and looked decent inside as well. Would come back again each time I visit this area.

There efficient...that's for sure! Food..well , let's just say..it comes out of the kitchen Fast.. You take it from there..

I was in Boulder and a brunch spot was on the mind. The Buff is a good spot but, especially coming around 11:30-Noon, there will definitely be a wait. It took roughly 15-20 minutes to get seated for us as a table of 2. I got a Valley of the Sun Omelette. For what prices are these days on brunch and in Boulder, I thought it was a plentiful amount of food with hash browns and English muffin that tasted well for the cost. Coffee tasted good and they provided a huge cup for me to-go, too. Service was nice all around. Ambiance was great for having a conversation and, while the place may have been bustling at the front upon our arrival, there was plenty of space and benches outside for the wait and then comfortable, spaced seating when enjoying our meal. There's a fairly large parking lot as well which is convenient for its location in Boulder. Ultimately, for breakfast/brunch when in Boulder, I'd definitely return.

Decided to do a little road trip over to Boulder this morning at The Buff Restaurant. We got there around 9:30AM and was shocked to see how busy it is. Not because it's so good, but thought with the university out for summer it would be less busy. I put my name in and was pleasantly surprised it was only a 10 minute wait. Our waiter was friendly and very chatty which was nice. I got the Rustic Benedict which was really good. The only thing I would do differently is get rid of the bacon. The chopped of bacon crumbled reminded me to much of bacon bits. It was still very good and definitely a much have for someone who like a good comfort food.

Never can say enough good things about my favorite Boulder staple. Everything is insanely delicious. Vegan jefe is the perfect vegetarian option. All coffee is insanely good.

A fantastic spot for breakfast! My wife and I each had a Honey-Vanilla latte, and I ordered the Two Step--two slices of thick, fluffy French toast, crispy potatoes, and savory bacon. The French toast was golden-brown, generously coated in batter, and beautifully presented. The potatoes had a delicious flavor enhanced by a touch of herbs, and the eggs were cooked exactly to order, making the meal truly outstanding! My wife ordered the Buff sandwich meal, and once again, the diced potatoes delivered a delicious, well-seasoned flavor. The sandwich--featuring crispy bacon, melted cheddar, fresh tomato, and perfectly cooked eggs on toasted sourdough--was a flawless blend of flavors. The side of Hollandaise sauce added a rich, velvety touch, making the meal even more enjoyable. The service was excellent and friendly from the time we entered the door. Highly recommended for breakfast!

Molly was so kind and patient. I asked for samples of the chili was really good. I had the French toast with fried chicken and potatoes a little piece of pineapple and strawberry and maple syrup. They had dollar bloody Mary's and dollar mimosa with entrée my daughter's friend got this delicious looking coffee that could probably feed two or three people. The food was good. The service was good. Homemade ketchup.

Large quantities. Good prices. And really good service. Nothing special about the food. Our friends vegetarian patty was super dry. Alright for a college town I guess.

I was in Colorado for a short trip when a few friends told me about this place. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much, but it totally blew me away. The food? Incredible. We loved it so much, we actually went back on our last day just to get another round of those amazing pancakes and their Tequila Sunrise--which, by the way, was surprisingly affordable. Service-wise, they really nailed it. Everything came out fast, and the staff were attentive. The place itself had that familiar, diner feel--nothing flashy, just good energy and comfort. Highly recommend if you love brunch food.

Hands down one of the best brunch spots in Boulder! There is always a line but the wait is quick. The staff is super friendly and the food comes out quick and delicious every time. I used to come here every weekend before moving home. I will always make a special trip any time in town.

This is a must-do place to eat - great cuchina feel to the place, with seating outside as well - loads of options for food - I walked in a little after noon, seated immediately, and the food was fast and fantastic. Opted for the White Buffalo Mocha and Buffaquilles for lunch/brunch - extremely happy with those choices as food was quick to the table and delicious! My server, Kash (pronounced like "cold, hard cash") was friendly and helpful, as well. If you go, go big (and hungry) and if you are lucky enough to get Kash as your server, tip her well!!

Great service and excellent coffee. Cool spot if you're looking for a place to hang out with friends before a Buff game, campus visit or a just to chill with friends and family.

First visit this AM! Wow! Everything was great. I got the Rustic Eggs Benedict. The bacon under my poached egg and over my buttermilk biscuit was caramelized to perfection (how did they do that?!) The hash browns are bussin, though put some cholua sauce in for a bit of heat. It's worth your dime and money hunny! Get some!

Solid brunch spot! We stopped by The Buff when we were in Boulder and ordered the Valley of the Sun omelette and Ole skillet, both were very good and nice portion size. The omelette had adequate filling and a nice flavor, and our breakfast skillet was hearty and flavorful. The Buff has a comfortable interior, basic, modern, Western decor and friendly, very quick service. We stopped by on a weekday morning and were seated immediately, but there may be a wait on weekends. Worth a visit!

From what I was told, this place is always packed. Being days after graduation, it was 1/2 full but we sure didn't mind. Great service, $.99 Bloody Mary's or Mimosas and a huge menu of breakfast and lunch items. I tried the chicken and french toast and it really hit the spot. Everyone loved their meals.

I was a bit too forgiving in my last review, but wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt--this resulted in giving this restaurant another go for breakfast today. To cut to the chase, I won't be returning after such a disappointing meal. Unlike the last time I ate here, the hostesses were friendly and actually nice. Had to wait a little more than 15 minutes to be called, but it was nice getting a bit of sunshine. Our waitress was very nice and didn't rush us to order, despite how busy they were. I swear I've never seen it that busy before! Last time the food was just mediocre, but this time, it was quite terrible. While the potatoes were extra crispy, as requested, they were extremely salty. Dipping them in ketchup didn't do anything to help mask the saltiness. I think I'm good on sodium for the next year. Even the English muffins were horrible, like they were stale or something--so dried out I just left them. The hollandaise sauce couldn't even help revive it. Eggs were cooked perfectly but that's the only positive thing I can say about the food here. I remember when this place used to be the Original Pancake House and when The Buff used to be a separate restaurant. It was so good then, but the popularity of this restaurant has ruined what it used to be. I'll be sticking to my other go-to brunch places from now on.

A classic in every sense with huge portions, tons of options and a friendly staff. It's definitely old school in the best way possible and there's something for every taste. It's a must visit in boulder.

Amazing restaurant!! We came with over 10 people and were able to be seated in about 10 mins. The service was so attentive and the inside was so spacious with lots of outlets and free WiFi. We all ordered skillets ($14-16) and 2 rounds of mimosas or bloody Mary's ($0.99 each). The drinks were beyond cheap and good. The food itself has huge portions and not too flavorful but they give you lots of salsas, quesos, and condiments so you can customize it. Highly recommend for food, prices, and service.

It was nothing fabulous, kind of overrated in my opinion. But quick service and nice staff. Just kinda thought the brunch was average

I LOVE THE BUFF. it is some of the best breakfast food I've ever had and the prices are fair for them not using seed oils etc. The service was quick and our server was kind and attentive even though we went at peak brunch time!

What a Boulder staple! The male server we had was ON IT - he was completing our sentences. He gave great suggestions and was very efficient. We all loved our coffee and breakfast orders. We went on a Friday morning and had no wait. Will definitely return if I'm back in the area!

What a great brunch spot! I can't wait to come back. Be prepared to wait, as they just take down names and on a Saturday we waited around 45 minutes for a party of 2. However they do move quick. Once seated, service is prompt. The chicken and French toast was to die for and i would absolutely get it again upon returning. The skillet was great but next time I'd love to try the Benedict's. They also had fun fall coffee flavors.

Come here with my kids whenever I can the buff burger is out of this world. A little pricey but when I'm in the mood to treat myself this is the place I go.

What a delicious lunch! The Burger and the Vegan Skillet were both very delicious! The ambiance is awesome and the service very friendly and prompt! Highly recommend for a weekend brunch or lunch!

It's a classic example of a good red meat burger place that doesn't serve small portions! Great for breakfast /brunch too Outside seating under an arbor is great too

Good little restaurant in the heart of Boulder,CO. Next to a hotel so you'll see a bunch of tourist in here in the middle of the week, but not too busy. We had the 99cent mimosas and Bloody Mary. Seemed to OJ in the mimosa were a bit warm and the bloody marry was overly spicy (for our taste) I had the Matterhorn skillet with mushrooms and Swiss cheese, pretty good but again just alittle overly cheesesy. Also had the pancakes which were very good. Also, should go without saying but since it's so close to the college your wait staff will most likely be a student...so leave a good tip Would recommend next time

The Buff has offered Exceptional dining for decades, and the experience has not changed. Fantastic service on well shaded patio included bringing my pup a water bowl. Biscuits and gravy were perfect. Keep returning whenever I'm in Boulder

10/10 restaurant. Great food and even better service! We got there and were told 45 minute wait. Got sat outside on the patio within 20 minutes and our waitress was awesome! Our food came very quickly and she was very friendly. The buff has a lot of great food options so there is something for everyone. I got the headland bowl which is great breakfast option to switch it up from the classics but you still get all the good stuff (potatoes, bacon, eggs and cheese)!! We also got the buff pancakes to share and they were extremely sweet. Great for one bite but I would say it's too much to have this as your meal. Overall everyone loved their food and I would definitely come back here!

A very consistent place to eat! My favorite thing about the buff is how incredibly fast the food comes out! It is always so busy (rightfully so) but you generally get seated quickly bc the kitchen and wait staff move quick. It's a cute place to go in Boulder. I would go back! Everything there is consistently good!

Highly recommend, usually a line later in the morning they do open early so that might be a good tip! The food here is fantastic, freshly squeezed OJ and lemonade. The interior is clean and well laid out. Lots of tables, booths, high tops. Water inside the door to stay cool. A shaded outdoor spot to keep cool. Awesome staff and food. You can buy swag too!

Have gone here a ton and never disappoints. Only tough thing is getting seating - wish they had a more updated seating service but the food is good, the service is quick. Great breakfast spot!

Came to eat with some coworkers , Great atmosphere, I originally ordered a Florentine , but unfortunately didn't personally like the Gorgonzola cheese , Molly made sure to take care of me , and found something I loved ( French toast ) Simple easy fix but when the servers actually care to make sure things are going smooth it really makes the experience that much better ! Shout out to Molly and the managers working that day ! Thank you

The Buff provides some of the highest quality breakfast food and service in the city of Boulder. I have ate here a couple times and have never ran into any issues. The food is great, the service is amazing, and the ambiance is quite special. Sometimes you have to wait a bit to be seated, and they have a nice outside waiting area with water cups available. Another sick thing about this place is that Obama has eaten here so that means it has to be worthy of a 5 star rating.

I highly recommend The Buff! Like DO NOT SKIP IT!!! The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. It's a casual ambiance, only open until 2pm. I ordered an expresso martini out of curiosity and it was REALLY good. I also had the vegan buffaquiles. So so good: flavorful, spicy, fresh. My husband had the simple burger with an extra patty and sweet potato fries. He said everything about it was spot on. I had some of his sweet potato fries and they were also amazing. Our server was Anthony and he was great. It was busy when we went but we were seated within 30 minutes and Anthony did a great job making sure we had what we needed. We will definitely visit again to try other dishes and maybe get in on those mimosas on tap (3 for 99 cents when you order an entree)!

The Buff is an all-around great experience! To start the service was great. Shout out to Sophia who was the nicest server who was so attentive and wonderful. The restaurant itself is wonderful with lots of seating but it did get very busy this Saturday morning. The food was delicious! And so many options on the menu! I started with a chai and I really loved the flavor and warmth of the spices. Let's talk about the amazing omelette! I had the California omelette which had bacon, cheese, avocado and tomatoes. So freaking good! The potatoes are perfectly cooked. Everything was wonderful! Even though it's a big space it wasn't overly loud. I really enjoyed the whole experience and will be back!

First time Boulder visitor... One of the best breakfasts I've ever had and service was as good as it gets.

The food and service at The Buff are next level!! The staff are so friendly specifically Shayna Drew. So friendly, welcoming and kind. Best griddle cakes ever. Add the blueberries!! And delicious drinks both alcoholic and not. Will definitely be visiting every time I'm in town :)

The Buff is my #1 restaurant to go to for breakfast or brunch when I am in Boulder. The service, atmosphere and friendly staff are unsurpassed. The food is always excellent no matter what we order, delivered fast and always hot. Waiters/waitresses are always friendly and very attentive to our needs. Will always eat at the Buff when in the Boulder area. 5/5

This is an amazing brunch place and definitely worth the hype! There is parking in the lot in front but it fills up pretty quickly. Unfortunately, they don't take reservations, but luckily we stayed at the hotel right across so we could put our names down and wait until the rest of our group showed up. They don't sit you until the whole group shows up, but we're super accommodating since our party size changes a few times. Our waitress was super sweet and helped us with subbing and replacing items in our meal. I went with the French toast chicken sandwich which came with a side of eggs and potatoes. The chicken was delicious and paired well with the French toast. The potato's were spiced well and really tasty and the eggs were good as well. I went with the hot pumpkin chai which I really liked since it wasn't too sweet and spiced well. Definitely recommend this spot for brunch if you are in the area!

I loved this place. A real college vibe with a terrific menu. Breakfast was really good - Atlantic omelette with smoked salmon was good -3.5 stars. Comfortable seating, clean and great service- 4.5 stars. Would definitely return. Dirty Sherpa (dirty chai) was excellent-5 stars. Good parking.

The prices of this place can't be beat! You can get 3 alcoholic beverages for just $2.97! I love their mimosas and tequila sunrises. Also, the servers are always very kind and amicable. The Buff doesn't take reservations and often has a wait, but they serve quickly and I've never waited more than 30 minutes. The original Buff was great. The new location Buff was good. and fast forward to now--just meh. We came around 11 on a Friday and there were 25 people or more waiting outside and in the parking lot. After 30 min we were seated and ordered our food. Huevos, Benedict and the Two Step. all came out rapidly--too rapidly. food was rewarmed and the eggs were fresh made, but the food was just blah. One could sense that these were all pre-made skillet dishes that were put through the salamander and topped with fresh eggs. The potatoes were too salty, the rest of the food was a disappointment and we left half of each dish as it wasn't worth finishing. The link sausages were dried out and tough, the french toast was rubbery and the potatoes were salty. The huevos were a disappointment in flavor and presentation. We tried this place 3 times since moving back here in July and this will be our last visit. The Village breakfasts and pancakes are superior in freshness and flavor and the mexican and egg dishes at the Parkway are far better tasting and consistently good. What a pity. Boulder used to have fewer restaurants, but they all executed their specialties consistently well. We are finding this to not be the case any longer so we are getting pickier about where we go so that we actually enjoy the food.
