"The Bull Bar & Grill is the latest 14th Street NW venture from Latin restaurateur and fellow Columbia Heights native Aldo Cruz. The Bull, located a few blocks north, can fit 75 patrons inside and another 30 across its front and back patios. His teammate at The Bull is also chef Omar Marroquin, whose opening 'Triple-Double Overtime' cheeseburger will star a whole pound of meat between a bun." - Tierney Plumb

From the outside you might wonder what this place is about but when you go inside it is a different story and when you go out back, it is different world. The food was great. The staff was attentive and the chef did a good job. Parking is not easy to find but it is on the still worth the visit for the food. I was the photographer for the Yelp event and it was a good time. Great work by the artist with the walls in the back. Every area told a story.

Went for the reopening and it did not disappoint! All the bartenders were kind and attentive. The food was delicious with authentic flavors that made me feel like someones abuelita was back there cooking. The bathrooms were super clean and even tied to the bull theme with their cow print walls. Will definitely be back!

Ordered the Carne Asada, definitely not the best but good portion and good price. This place has amazing music and it’s a great place to meet up with friends and just have a drink and have a good time (came in the evening)! Will be back

The drinks were very good. The food was just the right amount and tasty. The DJ was jamming but it was a bit Too loud. There were only a few people present and you could barely hear conversation.

Great ambiance, cocktails, food and outstanding customer service. A lot of thought and effort was put into this restaurant and you can see it in every single detail. Whether you’re going for date night or to watch a game you’ll have an experience with great food and drinks! Cannot wait to go back!

I love the bull’s menu- from the crispy onion rings to the delicious and tender carne asada, and of course, you can’t forget shots 🤗. Great customer service! She was attentive, friendly, and got our check correctly, although we were a group.

Overall great experience! Classic bar foods with Latin & DC native twists. The space is lively and aesthetically pleasing with the perfect amount of dim lighting. Ideal place to hang with the crew or even a casual date night. I gave an extra star for one of the waitresses remembering my drink order when I returned for another visit :) Also try the Brussel sprouts!

Yelp
I was here for an event earlier, but my friend and I had the genius idea of staying after and having dinner! Definitely a great decision. We got a table for 4, and I got to try one of their margaritas, mozzarella sticks and sliders! I have zero complaints about the passion fruit marg I had... it was just perfect. The mozz sticks and the marinara sauce were excellent... great amount of cheese, great breading, great flavors. The grilled chicken sliders had everything you'd want -- avocados, jalapenos, cheese... now, certain bites of the bottom bun felt a little chewy/stiff... miiiight've been a little stale? But could've been the toasting, who knows. But it wasn't enough to take away from the excellence of the sliders. This was an opportunity to really take in the interior of the place. I found out about their happy hour that's Monday - Friday 3-8, with $5 rails, $3 beers, $10 chicken melt & fries and some other things. They also have a bottomless brunch that I MUST come back and try. The service was awesome as we ate and drank, and the staff continued to be super friendly. The awesome music didn't stop either. This place has only been around for about 3 months... I hope they continue to do well!

Yelp
The Bull Bar & Grill is a unique neighborhood oasis with full service cocktail bar and chef driven menu. As soon as we walked in, I could tell this was family owned and operated, giving a friendly vibe. It was a quiet rainy weekday and we experienced great bartending service. The wings and fries were good, I heard a lot about DC mambo sauce and theirs was tasty. I'd definitely go back.

Yelp
I attended a Yelp elite event here and it was great! Their drinks were strong and delish! Had to sip it slow lol and their carve asada with rice was sooooooooo good! However, they made chicken and waffles....but the waffles was made out of sweet potatoes and let me tell u...I'm coming back for that! The chef was super nice and so was the staff. We'll be coming back!

Yelp
The tacos were bite sized but delicious . I had no complaints about flavor at all. Seriously delicious . The margarita pitcher was not filled to the top and had a lot of ice . Each carafe gave 4 drinks but without ice maybe 2.5 . The flavor was there. We purchase strawberry, passion fruit, and mango. The Mariachi band was so great! The backyard patio was cute. Great vibes all around. I'll definitely return.!

Yelp
Went out for a quick bite with a friend. Stopped at a new place in dc. Ordered a carne asada. The seasoning was spot on, juicy and tender as well. My only issue was that the dish felt incomplete. Yes I understood this was a bar scene / restaurant location. The dish was small to begin with but it could have atleast used a Tortilla to complete it. Only bad thing about it is that it was super salty. Spoke with others about it and they said maybe the chef had a off night, but I would try again.

Yelp
I've had brunch and dinner and both meals were so pleasantly impressive! The ambience is chill, but so fun. There is plenty of outdoor sitting and a very cool graffiti patio. I expected good drinks (which we had!) but the food truly stole the show. In particular, the carne asada. I am Salvadoran and born and raised in LA. It has been sooo difficult to find carne asada on the east coast that reminds me of home and hits the spot. This carne asada is juicy, soft, and so jam packed with sabrosura!!!! The flavors are so home-grown, it reflects the beautiful Salvi community of Columbia Heights so awesomely. Def will be a regular, can't wait to go back and try more of the menu! PS: just for the record, the crispy chicken sandwich (also pictured here), the Salvi chicken sandwich, and sliders are all so delicious (in case you need more recs ;D)

Yelp
So excited for a new spot in my neighborhood! We stopped by during the week for lunch and both the service and the food were excellent! I'm sad I didn't photograph anything - we enjoyed the bbq sliders, the nachos and the chicken sandwich. The nachos need a bit better cheese sauce but otherwise everything was so so tasty. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
So some quick back story... We've watched this place get together over the last few weeks and I decided to take a chance yesterday for lunch with a coworker.. Best Move Ever!!! The OG Mambo Wings are Great.. (couldn't drink on the clock).... But Please Believe I came back for Happy Hour. Got met with the same dope vibes from lunch and even more dope food. Got an Old Fashion and it was Good.. Top Shelf because the day was rough.. but on to the Star of Yesterday.. the Fried Chicken Sandwich.. cooked crispy and moist. The Slaw was really good wild part is I hate slaw but it really worked well.

Yelp
My first time coming here and the vibes were real chill. Good music, good food, um yeah definitely check this place out with friends and/or family. Bottomless mimosas, who doesn't like the sound of that. I got the Salvi French Toast this dish, I'd def recommend for people to get at this place. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits, he enjoyed his food! I didn't take a picture of his plate, but I definitely tried it lol it was good. He also got a drink called "From Uptown with Love", so beautiful and tasty. My sister ordered a drink called "The Kiss of Death", so good as well. If you're in the area, definitely check this bar out!!!!

Yelp
We just went there for the first time. Their wings and the Brussel sprouts were pretty much perfect. The chef came out and said hi as well. Nice people I hope this place does well.

Yelp
As soon as I walked in it was such a welcoming environment. The staff makes you feel at home and the owner Aldo was always making sure we were okay and taken care of. Music was great, but the FOOD was honestly sooo good! I had to come back a second time. So far I have tried the mozzarella sticks, bbq chicken sliders, queso, beef braised nachos and the carne asada. Everything was delicious, but the carne asada and beef braised nachos have my heart. I Will definitely be back and will tell all my friends about it.
