"With over 100 different beers, wings, outdoor seating, and lots of televisions, there’s not much more you could ask for on game day. Plus, there’s an outdoor patio with screens to watch the game should there be nice weather." - Eater Staff

Google
The Bulldog Mid-City is truly the best bar in the city. I have been going there regularly I have held several parties there and each one of them was amazing.for the past 15 years and it never disappoints. The food is the best bar food in New Orleans and the service is incredible. Chris has been serving me for many years and I look forward to seeing him each time I come in. Johnny the manager always greets us with a big smile and make us feel like part of the family. The outdoor patio is the best in the city and the giant TV’s on the patio make The Bulldog the best place to watch the games. I have held several parties there and each one of them was amazing! Keep up the great work!

Google
I used to enjoy but vibes have gone downhill. Not locally owned. The bartenders were nice but they have lots of turnover and appear to have trouble keeping staff. Last time I went, I also noticed the facilities were not clean.

Olivia Sastry

Google
Coked out manager was yelling at the bartenders and making everyone uncomfortable. This bar used to rock before it got bought by Californians and they started cutting corners. Better spend your money at a locally owned bar in the area.

Brandon Corley

Google
This place is a shadow of its former great self. Always out of beer. I keep giving one of my old favorite bars chances but I’m about to give up. I wish that it was owned locally.

If you ever need a beer, a really good cold beer, come to @bulldog_midcity, you will be pleased. I had the Blackened Voodoo one, a smooth and yummy black beer. Thanks to my French @meetup I found this really cool, great atmosphere and fun place. Merci beaucoup #TheBulldogMidCity for a beautiful night under the stars. #MidCity #NOLA #Beer #Relax #Friendship #French #UnaOrocoveñaEnNewOrleans #UnaBoricuaEnLouisiana

Google
i've been once and wasn't impressed, but their lack of impression didn't warrant a review but!! now that i see that they're using "California-envy" as an excuse for their subpar management creating an unsafe space, so i'll go ahead and leave my 1 star :)

Google
The best bar in New Orleans by a long shot! We have been coming here since it opened, and it still is number one in our book. The beer selection is amazing and there is always many new beers to try. The burgers are the best in the city. We especially love the new giant TVs they have on the patio. My wife had birthday party there last year and we had the best time. I would recommend it to everyone!

Google
Pub style atmosphere with sports on the TV's. Could be a Cheers type but the bathroom is dreadful. We ate out on the back patio and you have to go into the bar and order from a small hole in the wall. They give you a vibration gizmo to have to know when to go back in to pick up your phone. So basically self-serve. My Nachos were drowning in Jalapeno juice and were dry and cracked. And whole-hella drenched in Salt. Could almost hear my blood pressure rising. The other people's food was fine but gave them problems later if you know what I mean. I wouldn't go back here except maybe for some pool and a beer. Food is not their main draw I suppose. It wasn't busy for a Saturday. We did park there in front of the Cable car turnaround which is right in front of the restaurant and got an Uber to Bourbon Street. A "Meh" level experience and nothing to write home about and barely much to write about on Google. Sorry people this place is a bust on the Cindy's curses scale.

Yelp
Amazing selection of beer and the Food was delicious AND PET FRIENDLY! I love local spots where even the fur babies are welcomed and when you add a beer selection that was able to meet the needs of every palate in our party both on tap and in the bottle. Bottles you can buy to take home. I Love that. Especially when they had a Grand Cru that I hadn't seen in any other taproom in New Orleans The Food was also great, as I stuck with my go to The Bacon Cheesburger and Amber Fries w/bacon. Delicious! My wife and friends might have tried everything on the menu over the course of our visits and she is a fan of the Bacon Swiss Burger and fish tacos and sister in law raves over fish Kings Nachos and fish tacos. They also have an outdoor area to enjoy the scene and stretch a bit. But i like the ambience inside. Check it out. You will be satisfied.

Yelp
Will NEVER go back.. This is a place for beer drinkers, and nothing more. 0/5 stars... Price points are outrageous. ($50 for two people) Food was awful, everything tasted like it came out of a freezer bag,(as it probably did..). Soda was not fizzy or flavorful and their selection was very narrow. The only drink that was good enough to swallow was a beer and that was pushing it. This place needs a serious look in the mirror because there is massive potential for it to be a staple in the community. We will not return until then.

Yelp
I popped in after spotting a brew on Untappd, but was disappointed to find the list hadn't been updated since January! However, the bartender was super helpful, walking me through their current selection based on what I was originally seeking. The atmosphere is your typical American pub/bar, nothing fancy in terms of decor. Nonetheless, it's a great spot for a midweek beer in mid city!

Alex P.

Yelp
How dare you. $20 really?!!!! With a twinkle of chicken. Seriously. Great dressing though.

Genevieve D.

Yelp
Always consistently delicious and always great beer selections. Staff is really nice too.

Johnathan R.

Yelp
I'm about to stiff my first bartender. Ok, my first server of any kind. "If you ask for 2 beers mixed together I will charge you for a full pint of each type of beer. Be a bartender and I'll pay you for bartending. I'. Even when he isn't being a douche he's still curt and rude. It's like these folks hit 2006 and was like "stop. Right here. We aren't going any farther". I was worried about it being filled with college students on a Friday night, like it was when I was young. No worries, it's empty on a Friday night. I ended up tipping the Pearl Jam 90s flannel wearing douche, but I won't be back. So disappointing, this place defined the late 90s and early 2000s for me. Even the beer selection sucks. P.S. I tipped the guy because saying he should make 2 bucks/hour didn't sit right with me but I'm still wishing I hadn't. This place is a joke now.

Tori M.

Yelp
One of my favorite places in the city. Great location. Pet friendly inside and out. Whether you're in the mood to try something new or looking for a familiar favorite, this is the place for beer. Yum! Food is alright for bar food but face it, you're here for BEER! Wednesday nights you get to keep your pint glass!

Jess T.

Yelp
Love going to the Bulldog! Amber fries are always tasty & the draft menu is top notch! Bartenders are always friendly & knowledgeable. Best sunset view in the city!

Jade C.

Yelp
Came here for an after work shindig. I'm not really a beer drinker, but they had more than plenty on tap ready for consumption. Beer galore!!! I ended up with something dark on ice. My peers got white rum on ice. We ordered burgers, they got the works, I got a turkey burger. These burgers were huge!!! I wasn't sure if I could finish it, but I did. We all did! I will definitely be coming back to get inside the game room.

Marilyn P.

Yelp
My friends and I after a long day's work of breaking down the historical New Orleans Fairgrounds after a moderate season decided to go to the Bulldog {not MidCity} we were not impressed. 3/27-24 bartender daytime sucks. His attitude is not what we in the service industry deserves from a fellow hospitality person , needless to say when you judge people like he did you loss out . Repeat Customer, this was truely a disappointment For Real Mis Mal

Immanuel L.

Yelp
This is an amazing local bar. I love the burgers they have here the mushroom burger or the works. The ambiance is very nice and dark with a little bit of music and tv screens with sports. There is a big selection of beers and specially local beers There isn't much of service but it could of been the night we came. I've been here before and I definitely recommend.

Yelp
This is sad review for me to write as I used to *loove* this place, and I feel like an era has ended for no good reason. Ever since California-based owners took over, things have gone downhill in all directions. Upfront I will say its only current redeeming qualities are the staff (Brittany & Nicole), and how dog friendly it is - best spot in town for dogs being welcomed like VIPs. That being said, it is 77° degrees inside. SEVENTY SEVEN DEGREES. And the staff seem almost embarrassed to admit that they too are suffering in this environment, and have NO control over the thermostat...because it's controlled from CALIFORNIA and the owners are unresponsive to their multiple request to lower the temp. I find it really difficult to support local bars owned by people so far removed from actual life down here. This bar used to have food I would rave about to everyone, and fun trivia nights, and a relaxing courtyard. That's all gone. Food is mediocre, wildly overpriced, and every single time I'm in there is something from the menu they're out of...like lettuce, or chicken. I just embarrassed myself by talking up the food so highly, only to bring a guest who was wholly disappointed and questioned my judgement. The quesadilla used to be stuffed 4 inches high, it's now as thin as a pancake. The courtyard is gross, the fountain is broken, and the area is swarmed with flies. I miss the good old days and local owners who paid attention.

Michael K.

Yelp
What a depressing experience. I just paid $13.99 for a small order of straight fries with cheese added on top. The amber fries are a joke. I don't eat pork and I don't like ranch. They were out of the waffle fries. So an order of straight fries that should be 2.99 plus cheese fee shouldn't come out to 13.99. That sorry amount of cheese added to straight fries in no world should cost an extra $11.00! Also when I looked at the menu, the amber fries said 12.99. So I got charged an extra $1 more than menu price for something that I didn't want. I asked about it and they said there's nothing they could do about the price for "what I ordered". I didn't order Amber fries (those are loaded waffle fries), I wanted to cheese added to my straight fries. It's not a difficult task as a restaurant. Why was I upcharged $11? And worst part still. I order 2 of them. So two small orders of fries with cheese cost me $28.00! Just for fries! What a joke! Needless to say I will not be returning. I went there to cash in a birthday beer and they conned me for an additional $28.00 for two small fries. They totally got me and took total advantage of me. Could it be the two new hires faults? Maybe. But they always have new staff. The staff is constantly turning over and the current new hires leave a lot to be desired. The multiple smoke breaks they took together left the bar unattended and I had to go ask them outside for a drink. Then they got my drink wrong. They didn't know what was on tap or if it was in bottle. They didn't even know if they had Coca Cola is the soda gun. Seriously? My dad can't drink and all he wanted was a Coca Cola. I had to ask the manager if they had that soda on tap. And yea, they did. So my dad had to go without a drink for 20 minutes because the staff had no idea what drinks they served. Train you staff and stop taking advantage of people coming back in town. Makes sense why it was dead in there. You won't get me back in there for a free beer that ended up costing me $28.

Keith B.

Yelp
Great bar tenders and great bar food. Service is great and the overall crowd is laid back and the bar is 100% NOLA.

Michelle L.

Yelp
We stopped in after a recommendation from a friend, during the early afternoon. It has the feel of a local neighborhood bar (kind of like Cheers from the show). It was clean and well taken care of with plenty of seating. The bathrooms were AMAZING!!! The kitchen was closed which was a bummer because we'd previewed the menu online and came hungry. There was a manager interviewing a new bartender and another new bartender in training (his first day). The drinks were exactly what we ordered and were fast and good. We tried to engage in conversation but didn't really have a welcoming response. We are chalking it up to the new staff, training & interviewing taking place. Plus, they had a workman there doing some repair. This place has awesome potential and with more engagement with new people, I could see it being quite the hot spot.

Cheryl K.

Yelp
Got a burger and fries last night. I have been on the toilet non stop. Throwing up non stop!

Kelsey J.

Yelp
Average bar fare with a good variety of beers. We came here because our normal spots were extremely packed, and Bulldog has a nice outdoor patio area. The food was pretty mediocre - frozen then reheated spinach & artichoke dip still in the container it came in and nachos. The nachos were fairly hearty with a lot of toppings, so those were a good choice, but definitely skip the dip! Solid spot if you are looking for a more relaxed environment with outdoor seating and plenty of beer!

Dana M.

Yelp
Where to start... First the bad: Filthy dining area with smoky, body odor smell. Pulled pork tasted freezer burnt. Soft drinks flat. Prices higher than menu or online menu. Only people there and still waited 30 minutes for food. The good: Salad lettuce is fresh

Billie Jo M.

Yelp
I love this place! The main reason I love it is because I can bring my dog. There is a great patio outside where you can sit, eat, and drink. You're also allowed to bring your dog inside. The atmosphere is great! There's bar tables in one section and some couches in another section. There is a huge selection of beer, bottled and draught. The bartenders are very knowledgable. I can tell them what I like, and ask for suggestions. My last trip I had a couple that the bartender suggested. For my last beer I told the bartender just pick an IPA and pour it for me. His pour was amazing! The only thing I would change is that I wish there were some healthier options on the menu besides salad. The food I had was good though. The Cuban wrap is amazing!

Jess F.

Yelp
Out of the Bulldog locations, the Mid City is the one to visit. It almost feels "hidden" compared to the college crowds that takes over the location on Magazine St. Great bartenders & the kitchen pushes out great "bar food" as well. Love the nachos!

Jim D.

Yelp
The Bulldog, first of all is a terrific bar on its own. The mid-City location is at the end of the Canal street car line in the midst of the mid city cemeteries. Walking in from the street during the day it's suddenly dark, cool and when your eyes adjust has the look of a pub. But make no mistake, this is legit NOLA drinking at its casual finest. They have about 40 taps with local beers, seasonal beers, interesting beers, international beers, if you can't find something you like...well too bad. They have regular mixed drinks and wines too. But the cool thing is The Bulldog is dog welcoming. You might be sitting at your table and hear a strange rumble, or a high pitched Yelp and look down and there is a pup you didn't notice under the table next to you. Let me just say, cats would NEVER behave in a bar environment. Dogs on the other hand, once they get the sniffing done are content to chill by your feet. What more can you ask.

Chet J.

Yelp
Good bar food, great outdoor seating, interesting beer selection. Of course, they pride themselves on their beer selection, but they really don't represent local beers well at all. Or, at least not NOLA Brewery, which has some fine beers. Historically, they have only had Nola Blonde, but none of the IPAs, APAs, or PAs. That's a shame, for a local bar. Also, the last 2 or 3 times I've been, the beer had a pretty foul taste, as if they haven't cleaned the lines in a while. Ironic, since I seem to remember lots of signs in their uptown location bragging about often they clean the tap lines. Still, it's a nice place to hang out when it's not too crowded. I'll just order bottled or canned beers in the future.

Michael L.

Yelp
Bartender Johnny took careful consideration to pick the perfect beer shot combo, and I'm picky! Bar staff 10/10, cleanliness 10/10, drinks 10/10, app and all 10/10. Do yourself a favor and come say

Greg T.

Yelp
Watched the LSU game here one night and was surprised at how good the food was. Had the mushroom jack burger made with the Impossible patty with a side of fries and a couple beers. Wasn't exactly cheap, the food or the beer, but had a good experience and will be back for more games.

Montreal C.

Yelp
I love this bar. I frequent it regularly. Our governor put into effect a mandatory mask mandate that started today. I've been impressed to see the bartender adapt and reinforce the rules. Unfortunately, it was a slap in the face to see the owners walk in and completely disregard the mandate. Both men walked in and without masks. Then they left. THEN THEY CAME BACK WITH NO MASKS AGAIN. Reckless, irresponsible, and disrespectful

Steve I.

Yelp
My favorite bar in Mid-City!! Not only do they have the best tasting beers around but they also have beers that I enjoy that I just can't find anywhere else like Duvel and Delirium. The Bulldog has specials almost every weekday. Their most popular special is the Wednesday night pint glass night where you keep the pint glass of the week. I have been here on a few Thursdays too where it is $2 off select pitchers of beer. Whatever kind of beer you enjoy the Bulldog probably carries it. Whether you like Pale Ales, Pale Lagers (me), IPA, Wheat, Strong Ales (me), or Brown Ales (me again) they got you covered. Great atmosphere, cool patio area that is dog-friendly, lots of indoor seating, incredible beer selection, reasonable prices, and bar food. Highly recommend if you love beer or if you have a big group with you.

Emily Y.

Yelp
This was a great dog friendly find. They have water bowls ready for their fur guests and kindly welcome them. The menu is good bar good. If you're looking for Cajun, Creole or fresh fish, this isn't the best place to visit, however if you want a great chicken sandwich or burger and you want to bring your dog along, this is the place!

Mike H.

Yelp
It's funny how as we get older our tastes change. As a young whipper snapper 15 years ago I loved the Magazine location. I was there on weekends in college and after work on weekdays once college ended. It was my favorite watering hole. Things change, get married, spit out some kids, get divorced and the Magazine location didn't have the same feel. I felt a little out of place. Enter the Mid City location. aka the grownup addition on the Bulldog. It's more sophisticated yet still has the same 50 beers on tap, tons more in bottle and good bar food. This place actually furnished my glassware with their "buy a pint, keep a glass" Wednesdays. (Not sure if that still exists though). We came here last Saturday night after a very long absence for me and it was still perfect. Ample seating indoor and out. Everything from barstools, high top tables, low tables, couches inside and , picnic tables and patio furniture outside. What ever tickles your fancy or buttocks. The beer selection is plentiful with what ever style you like. The bartenders are knowledgeable and can help you make your selection. The have shuffleboard which is the greatest bar game ever and the music selection while not live is great! I was able to hear Dr. John, Public Enemy, Old Aerosmith, Eric B. and Rakim and some song called "You Can't Roller Skate in a Buffalo Herd". Perfection! I love this bar and will not wait so long to come back next time

Philip R.

Yelp
My wife and I went here on a daylong date. It was recommended by a friend. You can tell by the name, and the exterior, it is meant to feel like and old English pub, and that's exactly what it is. They have the feel of that down. Old wood planks line the walls and floor, and have a comforting old world creak when you walk across them. There are couches, and lots of table space. We sat outside and enjoyed the nice weather. The food they were preparing smelled amazing, we had dinner plans elsewhere, otherwise I would have ordered on the spot, based on the sights and smells. They had a pretty good beer selection on tap, and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. When I have friends come into town, I will happily bring them back here for a beer!

Travis C.

Yelp
I frequently come to the Bulldog as it is one of the only bars to carry on of my favorite beers on tap.. DRAGON'S MILK! And it's very affordable for a 10 oz pour being the beer is 11%ABV. Anyway, it is a pretty cool place to visit if you have pets or a big party of people as the courtyard has a ton of seating. Overall, it has become one of my watering holes I will most likely go to after work. I would just suggest they find a way to increase the size of the Hot Wings. While they have good flavor they are very small. Otherwise, visit the Bulldog for the one of the biggest selection of beers around the city!

Jeffrey C.

Yelp
Great comfortable place with an unmatched draft beer list and pretty good food. Great outdoor dining and wonderful friendly service. Spacious and near City Park.

Victoria J.

Yelp
The Bulldog is a well worn watering hole. They have a fantastic selection of beers on tap and a decent selection of bottles. You can find many local favorites, including some of the sessional Abitas, as well as plenty of other import and domestic choices. They serve food, it is pretty much no frills bar food, but still good stuff. I've always enjoyed. This is fairly spacious spot, even in busy night you can usually find a comfortable spot to enjoy the company of your friends inside the bar or out on the large patio. Outside has fans keeping a breeze up in warm nights, as well as TVs to watch a game or two. Overall the warm and friendly atmosphere is worth returning for, as well as the good food & beer selection.

Alex J.

Yelp
I was here for a Bachelorette party a couple of months back since it was near our Airbnb and me and some of the bridesmaids went to grab some drinks before heading out to bourbon st. Really just an awesome atmosphere and the bartenders were so chill and really fun to talk to before heading out! Also, really great beer selection and the bartenders are super knowledgeable about the selection.

Tracey C.

Yelp
Although I love the food and the bloody mary's at the Bulldog, I am also a smoker who loves to sit outside on the patio. Prior to this year, all fans on the patio were functioning so the patio was pleasant even in the summer. For whatever reason only 2 of the fans on the patio work and even those do not do everything they used to. PLEASE, PLEASE get the other fans working on the patio or buy some industrial fans to put out in the broken fans place. I will continue to frequent the Bulldog on Canal but really want to be able to sit outside without melting in the New Orleans heat and humidity of summer.

Katelyn B.

Yelp
Ok, I love this bar. I love the patio, I love that I get to keep my glass tumblers on Wednesdays, I love the selection of local beers on draft, I love that there are TVs everywhere. Any 20/30-something living in New Orleans for any span of time probably has about 42 Bulldog pint glasses in their kitchen. Even more interesting is that they just can't seem to help themselves from going back the next Wednesday and keeping a couple more. It's a sickness, and I am out of pantry space. Great place to kick back, watch a game, and enjoy a cool New Orleans evening at this little oasis on Canal Blvd.

Michelle Q.

Yelp
Monday's are a good time to go for a drink and to eat a good meal. The bar was not crowded at all. The service was excellent. The food is always consistently good! I had a regular burger with cheddar cheese. It was so yummy! The crawfish banditos were delicious. I loved the spiciness. It was just enough of a kick.

Leslie W.

Yelp
The Bulldog is a great hangout. It's large with a nice patio. They have a large selection of drinks and interesting menu items (the kitchen was closed when I was there, however, so I wasn't able to try the food). I appreciated how clean the place was; especially the bathrooms. I did find it a little hard to get the two bartenders' attentions. The place was moderately busy, I'll give them that, but they definitely paid more attention to the other group that was there and left us waiting for awhile. I have only been once, so this may not be the case every night.. but it did make an impression on me.

Jenn A.

Yelp
Dooooont get the salsa (see pic below). Otherwise, a great place for beer, the beer lords aren't overly pretentious, awesome atmosphere and lots of space to sit around, many TVs to watch whatever game is on. I come here often. I also live near by, so...

Greg R.

Yelp
Just arrived here. Asked for beers showing on the taps. They ran out and it only 5:30 pm. Lol. I then asked for tea, nope don't have any more. What kind of bar/restaurant runs out of beers and ice tea at 5:30 pm?

John L. H.

Yelp
I am a huge fan of the Uptown location of the Bulldog. I am not a huge fan of this location. you would think that as much time as I spent at this location prior to it being the Bulldog that I would love it here. problem is that I never liked it back when it was Parkway or Par-4 or whatever it was back in the 90s. Sure bulldog has updated the bar and added a boatload of beers, I can't bring myself to enjoy it as much as the uptown location. The one really cool thing this location does have is their outside patio. This would be the perfect place to sit on a nice night with friends. if you are in Mid-City or Lakeview and want beer, I would give this place a try, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get there.

Michelle B.

Yelp
Ahh Bulldog! So many memories and so little time! Where shall I begin? Now that I live here in Mid-City perhaps I take the Bulldog for granted since it's in my hood. But back in the day when I rolled deep with my church group this was our go to social place. When I say roll deep I mean like 15-20 people and we all wanted to eat or drink etc. We would usually go outside to the spacious back patio and take over a picnic table. There have also been times with friends have rented out. The gated back patio (ie. a friend's Saints watching birthday party during the day, my friend's graduation party, my frkend's going away party, you get the picture!). Many a day and night have I danced in the gated patio! The burgers are delicious! I liked the one with blue cheese, and I added bacon on it! Yummy! Plus they have cider on tap which even though I rarely drink I sometimes indulge! Bonus for allowing dogs on the back patio. I love dogs so it's a win-win situation! One of my guy friends brought his unruly black lab and people were cool. Two of my friends actually met at this Bulldog and ended up getting married and have a baby so it has a special place in my heart! The bartenders are super nice too! I prefer this Bulldog to the other one because it's so much larger, has a separate parking lot, and is closer to me! Happy drinking!

Carly S.

Yelp
This is my favorite bar in New Orleans. They have an amazing outdoor space (with huge fans so it's temperate even in a Nola summer). The beer selection is ridiculously large and they're always featuring new brews. They serve great pub food made on the premises. There aren't many places in this town that meet all of those criteria. Not only that, but it gets a decent crowd even on weeknights (especially Wednesday with the free pint glasses). AND you can bring your dog. I don't have a dog, but if I did I would be pretty happy about a bar that I could take it to---that cuts out half of the work of meeting people using your cute dog. Also, the raspberry vinaigrette goes great with everything (it comes on the California Fire Grilled Chicken Sandwich). I don't usually eat at this location, but at the Lagers that these guys also own, I put the raspberry vinaigrette on the blackened chicken sandwich and it is awesome. The only thing that would make me happier is if they opened a Lagers style eatery in Mid-City with all of the outdoor space that the Bulldog locations have.

Shannon S.

Yelp
I'm very dissappointed in how they have been raising prices here and they are now the most expensive bar in Mid-City by far. I really like the Bulldog but I'm not paying $4.50 for Abita Amber when I can get it for $2 and $3 at all the rest of the bars in Mid-City.

Jonathon A.

Yelp
There is no better place to be in Mid City on a Wednesday evening. They have a great selection of beer on tap, a very social patio, and better than average bar food. I had a "Premium Chicken Sandwich" that made me want to finish every bite. I also had their Chips and Salsa that I couldn't put down. The salsa is extra spicy which is perfect for my palette. The few strategically placed flat screens help you keep an eye on the score while you talk away the night. Invite your friends and enjoy the scene.

Danielle K.

Yelp
Great place with a really good ambiance. They have a crazy selection of beer - shiner white wing being my favorite. Shiner doesn't sell too much in the Northeast where I am so I enjoy the treat of having it so easily. The Abita brews are amazing. I really enjoyed the strawberry cream ale from there. The food is awesome. Get the mahi mahi sandwich and you won't be disappointed. In terms of seating, it's a pretty big bar with two back rooms. I chose the middle one that had both candlelit tables and couches. Definitely gives off a comfortable chill atmosphere while still feeling upscale. Definitely a plus to have in the neighborhood.

Yelp
DO NOT BOOK EVENTS HERE I booked an event here for our wedding welcome drinks. They lost our catering order, did not have the bar set up in time, did not know how to turn on the lights or fans in the patio we reserved, and did not have the right beer selections we had made for the bar. I contacted them 3 days after the event to get a refund for the food we paid for but did not receive. I was told that they were very sorry at how the event was handled, blamed the mix up on a staffing change and said I should get a full refund for the entire amount. It has now been 3 weeks since the event and I just now was finally able to reach someone on the phone to help process a partial refund. No apologies were offered, and no discounts were given for food that came out 2 hours after the event started. While the bartenders are great, the management should never have tried to be in the event space business. The Bulldog was one of my favorite bars before this experience. I am sad that the event was handled so horribly.

Yelp
I am currently at this location, and can I say that this Bulldog is constantly adjusting and readjusting to the COVID requirements as gracefully as they can, and I am so proud to support this restaurant. I have worked in the service industry before, and never in my life have I seen a general manager work as hard as the woman who manages the Mid City Bulldog. She's constantly here, jumping in wherever she's needed. Even though she has extensive bartending experience, she's making food in the kitchen because that's what the business needs to thrive today. All of the bartenders are phenomenal, too. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Yelp
I love the Bulldog. I've been a bunch of different times - to grab drinks with a few friends, with a really large group, for trivia, or just to grab a quick drink. Every time I have fun and am impressed with their service, selection, and vibe. The bar itself is about two rooms and an outdoor patio. There is a large bar and plenty of tables. It can get pretty crowded on their busier night, so if you're coming with a large group or want to stay a while come early. I went for Trivia on Thursday and have been on Wednesday's when you can keep the bulldog glasses when you buy a beer (I've literally stocked my kitchen with them). Make sure to check out what is going on that night before you go to make sure you're interested. Their happy hour isn't the BEST deal - usually about $1 off, but they have a deal every day of the week and most of the day so you're bound to get some kind of deal. The selection of beer is one of the largest in the city IMO and they pride themselves on the cleanliness and upkeep of their kegs. The place is a casual, classic pub with televisions if you prefer that at your bars. Can't say much about their food because they're usually totally backlogged on ordering it. Besides that, love this place and will always go back!

Yelp
Meow. Meow. Gotta love a bar called the bulldog that takes care of a cat. In all seriousness, this place is stellar. Wonderful assortment of beers of tap, and an easy to read menu with suggestions for your pallet. The bartenders are helpful and make suggestions when you're not sure what you want. They rotate the featured beers and bring in a lot of local stuff, which I appreciate. Inside the main bar area, there's always plenty of seats for football viewing and it's easy to navigate even when really busy. The outside patio is comfortable and they have a private area for parties (insider tip: if there's no private parties, you can sit back here and it's typically empty. You get your very own VIP experience without any of the cost!) They host some fun events, including a bacon and beer night, trivia, and brunch on Saints Sunday's. The food: chicken wings are off the hook. Get the grilled cheese with a fried egg, you'll get more respect from the cooks who spend their shift in a tiny hot box. The nachos are good, but make sure the cheese gets spread around for good melty distribution, otherwise it becomes a cheese log. Good standard bar food! The weirdness: the bathrooms. The women's bathroom is super awkward when trying to wash/dry your hands. It makes it easy for people to "forget" to wash up, which super creeps me out. Cleanliness is worth it, people!
