The Bungalow Lakehouse

We came here for a friend's retirement party. I like that it has 2 huge separate areas. To the right is the main dining room and to the left is the sports bar. They had cordoned off part of the sports bar for us. They had hors d'oeuvres laid out against the wall. There was some serious great food for the party. Take a look at the pictures to see how many items were available. The staff was attentive with drinks and clearing plates. You can go outside to the raised patio to get a break and a smoke if you need to. Wonderful place, staff and food, so stop by for dinner or a sports game.

Visiting the area & stumbled upon this place near our hotel. Let me start off by saying our server John was amazing. We’ve never been there & all of his recommendations were spot on. Between the wings & splitting two different flavors. My shrimp tacos & trying the Brussels sprouts instead of the rice, & giving us a free dessert to try! 10/10 would absolutely come back. I like this place. My friends, cousins and I come here sometimes to grab brunch and to relax. Their food is good, no complain there. Servers are good too. All the customers are very chill and enjoy themselves. Perfect area and they have many different rooms for different purposes which a great way to attract many customers!

We hosted my sister’s 50th birthday party here and Haley and team were fantastic to work with! They made everything easy from start to finish. I highly recommend hosting an event there.

This is a popular place - very loud and busy. That said, I was on the big bar side. Can't speak to the restaurant side. Service was good. We had a couple of apps - reasonably priced but very average - it's a bar. The beer I got was bitter - not typical of that beer - so likely bad lines. I moved to a mixed drink - it was fine. I will come back and try again.

First off. The server Karim (Simon) is so well knowledgeable. As soon as we were seated he attended to us with some great recommendations! He knows the menu and this restaurant. Good to see in a field where so much has fallen in the past years. The Views are amazing outside. They have great specials for drinks and brunch on the weekend.

I googled dog friendly restaurants and for some reason this came up ! I guess cause they had a patio ! It is only friendly for service dogs !!! Atmosphere would have been better but didn’t actually feel like my dog was welcome! Ended up getting food to go !! If you don’t get off the daily special be prepared to spend way too much !!!

This spot checks all the boxes! I'm always lacking one specific experience here, and that's eating inside. I've been here 6 times and have always eaten outside. The atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing. Some of my best memories are made here. I have never received a bad dish. Bring friends and family here, they will love it. Also they have a spot outside where you can eat, drink, and smoke cigars! This joint has a cigar bar attached to the restaurant!

I came here for breakfast. There's a ton of items to choose from. Fast service. Great music. Great tasting food I recommend it

Our first visit was on a Friday night for the monthly Comedy Show. We arrived two hours before the show and had dinner. The service was top notice with two servers assigned to each table (i.e., Zack and Kelly in our case). The food was fairly priced and OK; not great, but OK. The food was delivered in record time which gave us extra time before the show. The comedians were all from the local area. The first couple were not that good with a lot of raw humor. The last two were much better. We decided to come back here the following week at lunch time to try this place again. It was not crowded at around 12:30PM. Again, service (i.e., Leslie) was top notice with the food being OK (i.e., my wife did really enjoy her crab sandwich. My french dip was OK, but too much bread). We plan on returning again when we are in the area.

Good food and drinks. Outdoor seating overlooking a small lake. Nice spot for a casual date.

Ambiance is good. Reminds you of old timey steakhouses with many large rooms. Service was good. Food is a 3. We were there for a comedy show. Wasn't that entertaining.

BLUF: Lots of food & drink options. Great service & plenty of parking. Food (3/5): I got the mozzarella sticks & the mac n cheese flatbread & the potato skins. I liked all of them! The mac n cheese flatbread was NOT what I was expecting, so it was pretty cool when it came out with THAT much mac n cheese on it! It could use a little bit of some spices, but it was an overall solid dish. The mozzarella sticks were decent, but I'd probably try something else the next time I'm there. I also got the potato skins ($8.95) and they were really good, just... 3 small half pieces was a bit sad. I really liked them and could have ordered more, but I wasn't going to pay $20 for 3 small potatoes. Drinks (3/5): I'm not sure which drink I had, but it was one of the winter specialty drinks. I wasn't a fan of the drink's flavor, but I LOVED the sprinkles! They made the drink look so colorful once they "melted" into the drink. They have a huge menu of drinks and a full bar, so if you don't want a specialty drink, they can definitely make you others. Service (5/5): The staff was considerate and polite. We had a table of 6 and they got all our orders right & they all came out in a timely manner! Couldn't have been happier with it. Ambiance (5/5): They had sports, podcasts, and the news playing on all the TVs. I love that the bar is the focal point of the room we were in. The Sports Bar vibe was definitely achieved! It felt so energetic and fun! The parking was very plentiful. I've never had an issue with the parking here. There are so many lots with so many spots; you'll always find room. TLDR: Great service & fun flatbreads!

I don't know how he does it but chef Noel comes up with terrific specials every week. Last Friday night was no exception as the chopped steak salad was both delicious and presented artistically on the plate. Last time I had the scallops from the regular menu and they were the best I've ever had! Sorry no photo, it was too good to stop eating & take a pic. I've also found a bargain fave on the $9.99 Wednesday night pasta menu. As always, the food was delivered quickly and enjoyed in the "Cheers-like" lounge bar, where if they don't always know your name, they definitely recognize your face!

This is my go to dinner location whenever I'm in town on business. They have a great bar with lots of TVs and a beautiful dining room but I usually hit the bar. Service is always fantastic and the bartenders mix some killer drinks. Food is always good, I wouldn't call it fine dining but it's good and affordable. All around a nice place that I keep coming back to.

Good service, nice views and ambiance outside on the patio and lots of dining and bar space inside. This is a very large restaurant with different dining rooms, cigar rooms, bars, etc. Lots of TVs to watch sports and a wide selection of food and drinks to choose from. Would recommend to others.

Clean with a cute outside cigar bar and mini water views. Food was outstanding...so much so that we forgot to take pictures. We started with the jerk chicken egg rolls which were way better than I was expecting and I'm not sure what type of dipping sauce it was but I've never had any sauce for egg rolls that good! Ribeye grilled cheese on sourdough toasted perfectly, hand cut fries not soggy or over salted, and a grilled marinated chicken sandwich with bacon on a brioche. Mouthwatering flavor! The real star of the show was Azzy...she had an awesome personality and her recommendations were spot on. She covered us up in service at just the right times. Wonderful experience, can't wait to return.

Let me start with the positive. The waitress was pretty decent. There were 9 of us at the table, so I will not ding her to hard. The Calamari, horrible. Rubbery. Wings were below average. Not sure if the food is in the freezer too long or if it's just low quality. Use to come to this restaurant on the regular. Will have to take a long break.

Leslie provided excellent customer service and was very friendly. The appetizers I ordered were delicious and flavorful. The restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere, and you could enjoy a lovely water view while sitting outside. Although the drinks were not as good as expected, the food was great. I was so full from the appetizers that I couldn't even make room for an entree. A MUST TRY in the VA.

Made reservations for a Birthday lunch at the Bungalow Lakehouse in Sterling. Large restaurants with outside views when the weather is warmer. Large bar as well as an indoor dining room where we opted for our lunch. Cora L was our server and was very pleasant and helpful with recommendations. For appetizer the Chesapeake crab dip with garlic bread was amazing. For entrees fish and chips, scallops and prime rib grilled cheese brussels sprouts. It was nice that they brought a complementary crème brulee for a birthday dessert. Will definitely return.

We were there for brunch. The wait-person was not good at all. Asked for no ice in the water; received ice. Asked for cream and sugar; received cream only (we had to ask the hostess.) The entrees ordered included home fries and fruit, but she asked which of two sides we wanted. I politely explained that the menu indicated that both sides were include; she just looked at me. I had to say it twice more before she reluctantly agreed to include both. She acted really put out. I ordered Eggs Benedict and the whites were under-cooked and slimy. I'm giving 3 stars only because I might try it again in hopes that the restaurant was having a bad day with a bad employee.

We had sandwiches and they were outstanding. The atmosphere is superb and the service was very very good. I am looking forward to returning soon. Thanks

We had the worst customer service I've ever seen at a restaurant. The Manager JR Valdez was a total jerk and disrespectful because we had a large group and had to split up between 2 tables. He refused to split checks and was smug and rude about it. He acted like his restaurant was too good for our group and you could clearly tell he didn't want us to eat there. I would have given ZERO stars if I could. Don't eat here if you have kids and expect JR and his team to treat you with respect.

First time coming here and also the last. The waiter seemed like a young teenager who didn't know what he was doing. He spilled full glasses of iced water all over me and my friend's fancy dresses and hair! We thought he would compensate us with something but all he did was say a quick sorry and didn't bring out anything else to clean up. We used our own cloth napkins that were in front of us to clean up the mess ourselves! I ordered the pot roast and the meat was extremely overcooked and dry. The only thing decent was the drink that I ordered. My friend also ordered the pasta which he said was extremely bland and even asking for salt and pepper couldn't save it.

I hosted a social event this Valentine's weekend on Saturday evening, and I realized I forgot to add a review -- so doing so now. I've come here at least once before. The last time with family and we came in a different time and season, so 'twas outdoor seating then. I like the sports bar seating, but I'd reserved seating in advance and it looks like they placed us in ballroom straight up from the entrance. This was a first for me; I've never been down there. It was (V)alentine's Day upcoming, though I usually don't celebrate it this weekend was an exception to the rule. For drinks I believe I got talked into the spiced caramel apple martini. The martini really hit the spot. It didn't hit the ball out the park, but it did some serious damage. For some reason the buzz never hit me. Went straight in, off Specials menu -- Slow Roasted Prime Rib, 10oz (the smallest portion) that came w/ salted potato baked well, and green beans on side. I must say the p-rib was superlative. Add on the dipping sauce and it was very flavorful and juicy. Not the best I ever had, but it was really something. Good abundance of taste and juiciness overall. Baked potato, felt like bit too much salt, but in practice the salt was right on and hit the spot. I wonder they used kosher salt. Potato actually vied for best taste, next to p-rib. I like potato anything so this was fantastic indeed. Green beans were delectable and finished 'em all. Good thing to say -- no leftovers, nothing to pack home. Food was great. Company was much-welcomed and a great day and choice to celebrate V-Day in advance. In truth, this was my sole celebration for V-Day -- and that doesn't happen every year. It was heartily worth it though. Always been a fan of the Lakehouse. Looking forward to my next outing here, whenever that is.

I ordered the grilled pork chop entree and enjoyed every bite! Pork chop was juicy, tender, and seasoned well. My friend ordered the supreme flatbread and thought was a bit too salty. Service was great. We sat outdoors and temperature was perfect.

I ventured to this restaurant in search of seafood, with hopes of having crab legs. The restaurant opened and people were promptly making their way in. After she single-handedly sat the stampede of like 50 customers flooding the front entrance, with a smile and grace, answered the phone ringing nonstop and assisted DoorDash, I was greeted by AYA, the host, who was very respectful, friendly and personable. She then asked what I had a taste for and suggested items on the menu (I love when employees suggest, as they know best). The restaurant does not serve crab legs, but they have other great items on the menu, so I decided to try some. I ordered the steamed shrimp; which were delicious!! The shrimps were well cleaned (deveined), lightly seasoned and served hot with lemon and cocktail sauce. I ordered the jerk chicken spring rolls; which are different than what I expected. The spring rolls had slight "kick", but they were dry in texture, not the juicy version of jerk chicken. They were still good and served with a sweet, mango sauce. Lastly, I ordered the gumbo soup; which is delicious, filled with crawfish, celery, chicken, tomatoes and a cup of rice. The price is reasonable for the amount of food you receive. The restaurant is well maintained. Upon arriving early, I saw an employee sweeping the parking lot. The entrance is nice and clean, looks as though you have entered an upscale, low-level lighting establishment with a sense of exclusivity. Note to Owner: You have an excellent establishment. Please praise and recognize AYA for the great job that she does. Although she was placed in a high stressful position, she maintained high energy, great people and communication skills and was organized. She is invaluable, as she is the restaurant's first impression.

I have driven by this place many times and finally decided to get dinner there one night. We were able to get a table looking out over the lake on their screened-in porch which was a beautiful setting. Our server was excellent- one of the best servers I've ever had in a restaurant. I decided to try the chicken cordon blue special- not having read the description carefully enough I didn't realize it was a panini style sandwich. That being said, it was surprisingly good- very fresh with the cheese just melted enough. The fries on the side were nice and crispy. I would definitely go back again- the service and atmosphere really made this a pleasant dining experience.

The food was good, and our party was in the bar area, which is great for big groups. The waiter did have some issues with bringing out the right drinks for people.

The bartenders and servers here are some the most funny people I've ever met! Their social media is on point, and I would eat here every day if I could!!!

I have been coming here for years. The staff and food are wonderful and make you want to come back. The food here are delicious. I constantly get the Club sandwich and can't get enough of it. I have had steaks, cheese steak, pizza and cheeseburgers. The ambiance is sporty and romantic, weird but it fits. The staff can make it the way you want it and with the service to boot, like no other. We highly recommend this place and we will continue to come. Don't close on us

My wife and I frequent The Lakehouse often and have never had a bad experience. The Cigar Bar is always full of very welcoming regulars, the food is amazing, and the staff have become great friends. Highly recommend.

loveee this place for happy hour! drinks are strong and cheap, and the food is so good! the waiters are really sweet and made sure we got everything ordered before happy hour ended. there's a nice outside area to sit at and there's a nice inside area near the bar where you can watch sports too. i'd definitely recommend coming here if you want to enjoy with friends!

We really enjoy the ambiance and food. Samantha our bartender is awesome and always makes sure we are being taken care of.. We strongly recommend The B Lake house!!!!

The place is kind of hidden off the road. It's deceivingly big inside. There's a cigar bar area with an outside patio, and a separate outside patio overlooking the lake. There's a huge bar area with multiple TVs and a couple of pool tables. The food was quite good with large portions. When we were there, there was a car show going on outside, plus what looked like a prom and multiple parties inside, no complaints about the service even with all of this going on. Will definitely come back!

The service the last time we went there was the best! We love sitting outside and looking at the lake.

I was tasked with planning a Social event in Sterling, VA -- and I live 1600 miles away. I sent an online request -- and was immediately contacted by Sarah. She was so professional and understood what my needs were for the evening. I needed a private room and staff to support 30 VIPs. She sent me the paperwork, which I sent back promptly . After telling her I would not be on site for the event, she kept me apprised every step of the way. After talking to my folks the next morning -- everyone was very complimentary of the staff and the food. I would highly recommend this place for a large social event. Thank you for your professionalism and attention to detail.

Please go for brunch! Great food & many sections to fit your needs - bar area, dining area, cigar bar... French toast to die for. Dang it, now Im hungry!

One of my favorite bars/restaurants in Sterling!! Huge place with great food and drinks. They take care of you!

We like this place. I'd say it has one of the best kitchens in area. A well thought-out menu that is consistently prepared. If you want formal dining, get dressed up. But their sports bar has a convincing beach vibe for casual dining. The staff is great. Attentive and friendly but they know when to back off, too. About four times a year, like Mother's Day and Easter, they put on a huge buffet spread. This restaurant is a gem.

Beautiful Location. Huge! We got seated in the smoking section by choice for immediate service. Food I picked the chicken and waffles. I did not like the waffle. But the chicken was amazing! Eggs Benedict was great! Shrimp Salad was great! Coffee is Strong! They have a good selection of mimosas! I'll come back to try the menu for sure!

Good communication ahead of time for a birthday dinner with adult friends. Service was flexible with people standing in a private room to begin the night and then swift once people were seated. Facilitated a good event!

I ordered an e-gift card for a friend and accidentally entered the wrong email address. The managers, JR and Sara/Sarah were AWESOME in resolving the issue! Their customer service was beyond superb! We really enjoy all aspects of the Bungalow Lakehouse. The food, people and ambiance are all great and it has become our go to place.

Everything was good since the beginning but now you all are on point . The menu change - Your prices are nothing but a good a good value. Positive Positive Positive keep up the good work.

For many years, a group of us have been coming to Bungalow once a week for Happy Hour. We always sit on the beautiful deck overlooking the Lake, rain or shine, all four seasons. The staff treat us like family, especially Trey, and never rush us. The food is yummy - I've never had a disappointing dish. Highly recommend this restaurant for a very pleasant, laid-back dining experience.

This place is a social club without dues. So many seating options, all the way from a gazebo to a clubhouse dining salon/indoor and outdoor bars. The reason I found out about this place was the unique cigar patio, but having been here in various seasons, there is always a good spot to be seated. Service is always friendly. I would describe the food as comfort, don't raise culinary expectations but be on the lookout for the nice view, casual easygoing vibes, and enjoy the company and some drinks.

Very welcoming. Lots of open large space to sit, both inside and outside. A very cool specially designated cigar smoking area where you can eat, drink and watch sporting events.

The Bungalo Lakehouse is one of the hidden gems in LoCo in my opinion. First, the restaurant is big, and during nice weather you can sit outside and enjoy a nice view. We have never had a problem getting a table and I have, during my at least 15 visits, found the staff to be absolutely wonderful- every.single. time. One time I sat at the bar because my lunch buddy got hung up in a meeting and couldn't make it, so I didn't want to take up a table and the bartender could not have been nicer. Each time my family has eaten at the restaurant, our servers have been excellent. We also meet some of our old friends at the restaurant about once every two months. I have a picky group of eaters in my friend group and BLH always satisfies everyone. I've gotten to the point where I almost always just ask for the special because whatever it is, it's always delicious. However, everything I have ever tried from the menu is excellent. Among the appetizers we like are the wings, the pretzel sticks, and the Jamaican jerk spring rolls. Some of the menu items I love are the tequila pasta, the fried chicken sandwich, the roasted chicken and the seared scallops- all of them are top notch. Not enough restaurants really bother with dessert these days. Many of them buy those premade "lava cakes", pop them in the microwave and call it dessert, but not BLH, they put out some really nice desserts. Actually, the single best dessert I have had in the last 10 years was a special at BLH- it was some kind of little dome with chocolate and raspberry and it was unbelievably good. I was told it is rarely available and sells out quickly, and sadly, I have been back at least 20 times since then and never got lucky enough to get it, but if I ever do, I might skip my meal and eat four of them instead. Finally, I'm going to close this review with a pet peeve of mine. The restaurant business is tough enough without sites like this that give people like Lisa O. (see her initial 1 star review), who claim they are regulars at a restaurant but the first review they ever write for a restaurant is when they have a bad experience. Hey Lisa, you were a regular customer so you must like the place, so where is your 4 or 5 star review for all those other visits? You waited until you had a bad experience to slam this restaurant and their hard working people. That annoys me. Oh well, let's end this on a positive note: I love BLH and I drive there even though I live within walking distance of many other restaurants because the food and service are always excellent. Thanks to you, BLH staff- I appreciate you.

Both tacos were amazing 10/10. Bulgogi definitively outshined the shrimp one. Not pictured is the steak grilled cheese. That beat them all by a landslide. Will definitely be back

Great food, great drinks, cold beer, fun, inclusive, relaxing (without being boring), fun (without being obnoxiously loud) bar. Bartenders are friendly. This review is for the bar area.

We just had our high school reunion here. We ended up having about 70 people in attendance. Haley & Sarah were so very helpful & flexible with the pre-planning. The food was buffet style. Everything was super delicious and very reasonably priced. Our servers during the event were so on top of it and even offered to help me decorate. An extra bonus was the Friday entertainment, DJ Phenomenon. People had so much fun dancing. Everyone had such a great time I could seriously go on and on and on. They are a huge reason our event was such a success. If I could give them more then 5 stars I would! I recommend to all!

Food is decent. Seems to be a good variety to pick from. It's a nice setting . Everyone there is friendly and helpful. The only reason I gave 4 stars is if you ask for a change in the ingredients, you may or may not get it. I've learned to except it and usually just don't ask anymore. They usually are busy my and I know it's not intentional.
