Stumbled upon in the off season and what a gem. Trivia was rolling, the bar was packed and the bartender was awesome. Ordered blackened tuna tacos- and have NEVER gotten large chunks of tuna like I did tonight. The elote salad? Unmatched. When the kids can enjoy great options and the adults have fresh seafood, burgers, chicken and BEER- I need nothing else. This is definitely added to my list when I return to VAB.

Tried this restaurant on a whim and was absolutely surprised. Staff was spectacular (professional, attentive and provided great suggestions). Ordered up the following: -Two seperate flights of beer -Drunken mussels -Cajun Shrimp egg rolls w/ rice & beans -She Crab Soup -Seafood Pasta All were served hot, presentation was great and each were deliciously prepared with great flavors. I would highly recommend this location and look forward to returning to try additional menu options! 5*****

I loved performing here - I’m from Los Angeles and the vibe this venue had made me feel at home. Food was fresh and hot, bartenders were amazing, Shirley took care of us all night. Can’t wait to come back

Attended an after hours special event at the Bunker. She-crab soup was delicious. Pasta was good. Chicken and waffles were really good. Enjoyed the pineapple grenade on draft! Great draft beer selection. Loved the military atmosphere. Staff was friendly and hard working. Hope to go back when in VA Beach!

The drinks were good, the food was delicious, and everyone was really nice! I had the guava cider and blackened fish tacos with street corn pasta salad and my husband had the hot chicken sandwich with fries, we loved all of it! The kids had Mac n cheese and a cheese pizza and devoured it all. We would come back and highly recommend!

Visited on Saturday around 8-9pm. It was pretty relaxed and had a nice relaxed atmosphere. I like the decor. Drinks: The bar is said to be a full bar but lacks many things for most drinks. Pretty much have to ask the bartender what she can make with her selection (unless you want something really simple like a Jack and Coke). Food: The advertised chicken sandwich is amazing! So tasty. The Quinoa Salad was new to me. Never had Quinoa before and probably will avoid it in the future but it was still pretty good. I just prefer my salads to have more lettuce. Service: We sat at the bar so it is what it is. Not bad.

5 Star as far as I'm concerned... couldn't find a reason to knock them down to a 4... Prompt service at the bar for food and drinks....flight of 4 local beers gave a good sample and our meals were great too! We will return on our next VB trip for sure. Have to say the Tuna Tacos with the Stout beer was a winner for me.

We wanted to visit Young Veterans Brewing at their brewery when we were in the area on Friday, but we were too early and couldn’t wait around till 3pm. We were delighted to stumble across the Bunker Brewpub later that night and had a great experience. We got to try some of the YVBC beers as well as fried oysters and probably the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. The girl working the bar was awesome, friendly and on top of everything the whole time we were there. We will definitely go back again next time we visit Virginia Beach!

This is a must if you are in the area. Very good food, staff were all very nice, and I love that it's veteran owned! We loved the military pieces that were used inside! Our waitress was very personable and very helpful!!! The wife loved their pineapple beer! I can't say enough good about this place! To The Bunker, thank you for your service!

Bunker Brewhouse is a family friendly restaurant with a rocking twist! Not only are they veteran owned, but they feature their own beer called Young Veteran Brewing Company! F O O D Adam had the Mexicali Burger and I had the Southern Hospitality Burger. SOOOO GOOD! Like what?! How can a burger even taste like this, but they did! B E E R We got a flight of 4 beers so we could sample 2 of their Young Veteran Brewing Company beers, a featured wheat beer, and a cider (my personal favvvv)! Here's the 4 beers we tried: 1.) Pineapple Grenade (Wheat Beer) by Young Veteran Brewing Company 2.) Night Vision (Stout Beer - American) by Young Veteran Brewing Company 3.) Pillow Muffins: Czech Style Pilsner by Farce Beer Co. 4.) Guava Passionfruit: DownEast Cider A T M O S P H E R E From being a family restaurant to a total rock & role hole in the wall! If you're looking for a chill evening, this is your place! I was 1,000% blown away by the talent of all the high school teenage age bands that sounded like they'd been in the business for 20+ years up on stage! We will definitely be return customers every time we're in the area!

If I could describe this place in one phrase it would be "try-hard". This place tries way too hard in every way. Their food tries really hard to be trendy and different, but all you really get is weird combinations and only tasting salt. The food otherwise very dry and flavorless. The aesthetics match their efforts to try really hard to be hipster. The ambiance is really loud and overstimulating. Loud music causes everyone to yell their conversations. If you want a more peaceful vibe, this place ain't for you. This is more of a bar crawl for 20-something year olds kind of place. Service was fast and polite though. Overall, a very aggressive atmosphere. If you are someone who wants a peaceful, delicate evening, this place ain't for you.

This review is for the venue itself for shows. I came here to watch a hardcore show and the place did not disappoint! I almost didn't go because 1) I dread going to the oceanfront. 2)parking & paying for parking I could go on but let's just get straight to the likes! This has to be the most immaculate, clean venue I have EVER seen a hardcore show in my entire life! I'm not even mad. If you have ever been to a hardcore show, they are typically held at the most dirtiest, roughest parts of town in whatever city or state they're performing. Well, the Bunker was great and especially for being there for my first time ever. They have a bar and dining area but in the back area is the stage and a wall dividing the dining area from the music venue side. So if you're just coming in to dine, you can probably have a conversation and still hear each other. It's a good size back there and they have the glass overhead garage doors which they had open that night so it doesn't get stuffy and if by chance it gets funky. I think people today may have better hygiene than the kids back then in the 90s at shows because it did not reek of b.o. thank goodness! The size of the venue is spot on, not too big, not too small. I would definitely come back for a show if a band I like plays here again. But if it's in the summer season I might have to reconsider since everyone knows the oceanfront gets crowded and parking is hellacious! You can pay to park right across the street if spots are available. It was a good size crowd that night but parking wasn't difficult. The great thing is since it's on 21st you are only a block away to exit back onto the highway from there! Tickets are sold on eventbrite. They did say if tickets are still available, you could buy them at the door.

Food and service was great. If you like to try creative burgers with new flavors for your palette, this is an option for you. If you want a plain burger with ketchup, don't bother. Four stars only because my 12 year old eats burgers everywhere and she wasn't a fan of the kids menu burger.

Service was great from the bartender. Food was ok and beer wasn't as good as I expected. I asked for a couple of samples, one was the Coconut wheat beer and the other was the Pineapple Grenade. I couldn't taste the flavors in any of those. Im glad I sampled those before I ordered the flight. So, I can only remember 3 of the 4 I got for the flight, which was the Peach IPA, Razz Tart Mofo and the Guava Passion Fruit Cider. The Cider was the best out of them all. But the Razz Tart was pretty good, too. For food, I got the She-Crab soup and the Blackened Tuna tacos, with the elote pasta. The soup was almost more like a dip, it was so thick. It had good flavor, though, and the temperature was perfect. The tacos were just ok for me. They definitely don't skimp on the tuna. But I honestly think it was too much, as it was a really thick piece, instead of something sliced thin or cubed. So it wasn't may favorite. However, the elote pasta was really good. When I think of elote, I think of corn. But this had nothing to do with corn. It was a cold pasta with some sort of seasoning. I liked it. SO, yeah, i would recommend this place.

All items on menus servers are great they have a wine bar located in a strip mall clean friendly

Everything about this place was fantastic! The service, the food, and especially the BEER. Great kids menu was a huge plus. We loved it so much, we went twice in the 4 days we were visiting. You will not regret coming here!

Ambiance: 10/10 upbeat and lively. Not too noisy. Food: 10/10 I had the starter mussels and my husband had the bunker burger. Mussels were the size of an entree. Enough for two people to enjoy comfortably. The burger was great and flavorful. The burnout beer was heavenly and refreshing. I am not a beer person but I definitely come back for this one. Service: 10/10 Rachel was the sweetest and super attentive.

I've never been to Virginia Beach, but if all restaurants are like this one, I'm moving here!! I have never had such amazing food and beer anywhere! The beer menu was extensive, and the food menu was full of delicious options. My coworker had the seafood pasta, which looked fresh and she loved. The chicken tacos were unreal - breaded chicken tenders with honey chipotle sauce, slaw, and some awesome Mexican spiced pasta salad. But honestly - and this is odd - the star of the show was the Pineapple Grenade wheat beer. It was so light, so fruity and so refreshing!! We also had the miso caramel ice cream sandwich, which was unreal!! If you're in the area, EAT HERE! (I may be back tomorrow!)

My husband and I came here for dinner. The fact that it is a veteran owned business with a nice craft beer selection and nice food menu led us to try the place. We were seated and served quickly and enjoyed our drinks and food. I enjoyed the Guava Passionfruit cider and my husband enjoyed the Frogman lager. For dinner, I had the House Salad with Tuna Bites and my husband had the Mahi-Mahi. Everything was so good! The place is decorated with military items which is a cool touch.

Great burgers. Try the loaded fried. Good choice of craft beers. If you want a good burger and a choice of good beers, go for it

Stopped in for a quick bite and drink after a walk at Virginia Beach Strip. The beer was refreshing and lite. Nice and balanced. Yeah. The shrimp rolls while crispy, were very heavy on rice and beans. Only like 1 shrimp cut between them all. About 1 oz of white crab meat sprinkled on top of the thick flour like soup. With some old bay type seasoning. Very clean, nice ambiance with lots of military stuff. Service was fast and friendly.

We stopped in around 2:30 this past Saturday and had delicious burgers! The bacon jam and pretzel roll were really good. My husband and son wanted "regular" burgers and they were able to order to their wishes.

5 stars, highly recommend! The service was phenomenal, bartender was super friendly and even gave us a list of must visit restaurants while in Virginia Beach on vacation. We only got an appetizer, the fried pickles, which were yummy and came out quickly. They had this wonderful sauce to dip them in. There was a nice variety of beers to select from. I'm partial to sours, my mom likes IPAs, dad likes stouts, and husband enjoys ales, and we all enjoyed our drinks. The vibe was awesome, lots of funny signs all over the place, etc. The bathrooms were nice and clean, which was appreciated. Definitely recommend checking out if in Virginia Beach!

Best brewery I've been to in years. The food was amazing and the beer was definitely top tier! The atmosphere was relaxing and being a veteran, I loved the decor. We will be back when we visit VA beach! And our waiter Ryan was awesome! Thanks for such a great experience.

Thursday night and the place wasn't crowded, which was good for us. I didn't want to wait a long time for dinner. The music was a little loud, but ok, that's the vibe. Our server, Trudy, was great and helpful in trying to pick the perfect brew. She was attentive all night, but never intrusive. The kind of service people used to give pre-covid. I am not a vegetarian, but I decided to go veg to eat something lighter. Had the sweet potato tacos and they were great. I thought they might be too sweet, but they were perfect and had a nice kick. The side was a garlicky squash medley which was tasty and I ended up adding it on top of the tabouleh salad instead of dressing. Again, fresh and top notch. The beer menu is awesome and we really enjoyed the brew Trudy recommended. It was nice to be able to enjoy quality food and beer and walk to our hotel. Definitely plan on visiting this little gem again.

Good beer and good bartender conversation and service. They have many different guest taps available for all your beer needs. Inside had had a lot of seating at the bar and table seating. A couple tables and chairs outside but not much.

We were there on a week night, and ended up playing trivia with some cool Ohio travelers for the evening. The place was packed with trivia players, and locals. The Bunker has many flavors and styles of beer to choose from and the atmosphere was very nice. The bartender and servers were prompt and polite, and their merch was well done - and there is plenty of it. We didn't order food, but many folks had plates at their tables and they were cleared, not many leftovers noticed during my trips in and out of the bar. Overall, I'd give this place 6 stars if I could, we visited The Bunker the following night as well, both visits were stellar for us.

We tried a little of everything and cannot pick a favorite food item because everything was amazing. Even our picky eaters ate everything! We ordered several flights and had a hard time picking which ones to take to go because again it was amazing! The whole place was decorated with a military style that definitely started conversations. Will be coming back time and time again

Wow, that Buffalo Chicken sammie was the best I've ever had. And the waffle fries looked like chicken fil a, but were 1000x better. Service was great. Water never got empty. Very clean restaurant!

Yes, yes, 100% yes, COME HERE! Best margaritas on this planet (they make their own sour mix) and the fried pickles are to die for. Wednesdays are trivia nights, so it gets pretty busy and loud so just keep that in mind. Will continue to frequent this little gem.

Great little brewpub. Large selection of beer and solid menu. Located by the ocean front, I went during the off-season, so its probably a lot more crowded during the summer. Still a good option than the usual bars on the block. Parking can be a little tough.

Love the vibe, terrific food, and tasty beers. We came as a group of 6 before a show at the Dome and everyone walked away happy.

We came on a Saturday around 3 PM. We keep saying we're going to experience the nightlife(band), but we always forget. We had the flight for $16. I like sweet drinks so I got the tart mofo mango sour ale, Thank you thank you you too. imperial tart mofo raspberry sour, hard tea original hoop tea, guava passionfruit down east cider. We started with the chicken wing appetizer obay seasoned w/ blue cheese. It was delicious. Love the way they fried their wings hard. The beer flight is a choice of 4 beers from their lineup. I enjoy sweet drinks so of course I chose what I thought would be sweet. The hard tea original hoop tea reminds me of the twisted teas lemon very good for those who like sweet drinks. All of my suggested items were good though. For entrees we got the shrimp tacos and the chicken ranch taco. My husband absolutely loved the chicken ranch tacos. The shrimp tacos were also tasty. Our bil was $81 b4 tax. We had an appetizer, two entrées , one flight of beers, one seal , a tea and a sprite. Service was quick. We were seated as soon as we walked in. Food was hot & delicious. One negative there were small gnats flying around. Just a few near our table but I also saw someone else swatting at something which I assumed was a gnat. There weren't a lot of them but enough for me to take notice. However it did not take away from the experience. I would definitely visit here again. Can't wait to come back next year this time. I added some pictures from when we were here last year also. I had seafood pasta my hubby had fish tacos. Both were good. We love this spot. They charge a service fee for paying with a card. It's around $3.

Fun bar, lots of energy friendly staff. Today we visited after the Car show at the convention center. Just a straight drive down 21st street. Parking on the Oceanfront is always a challenge. Paid parking is located across the street. Great vibe in this popular restaurant

What a fabulous find! Service was fast, friendly, and just the right mix of attentive without being overly present. I ordered the chicken tacos and they blew me away. The pineapple grenade beer was fantastic also. The decor is fun. Love the cool, funny military vibe. Best place I visited while in Virginia Beach this trip.

I really enjoyed the beers here this afternoon and the owner and everyone are just awesome. My one and only issue is that I HATE different prices for cash or credit cards. To me this is an insult and I do not appreciate it as a customer. I do not care if every single restaurant and bar in Virginia Beach charge this fee. It absolutely pisses me off as a customer and it just sucks and it gives me a very poor opinion of small business. The worst part is having someone tell me it's "only 3 percent" or everyone else is charging it so just deal with it and pay. This is super disappointing.

We walked here for lunch one day while visiting Virginia beach and really enjoyed our experience! The restaurant was close to our hotel and had a lively but open feel to it upon walking in. There was plenty of seating at the bar and a nice divide if you were coming in to eat with your family/wanted a larger table. Our waitress was prompt and polite, the restrooms were clean and our food came out fast! They have a great range of food options on the menu outside of what most pub style restaurants sell, which was refreshing. To start off we had the shrimp egg rolls, they were pretty tasty but had a little more rice/beans than shrimp and really needed the sauce that came along with them. My husband had the crab cake sandwich that was made with hefty chunks of actual fresh crab meat and tasted great! I had the hot chicken sandwich which was juicy and had a nice kick to it without being drowned in sauce or unbearably spicy. The fries were hot and delicious as well with a perfect amount of seasoning! We will definitely make this a go-to whenever in the VA beach area!

This restaurant had amazing ambiance and cute decorations! The atmosphere was amazing and the staff were very soft-spoken and welcoming. The prices were reasonable and most importantly the food was delicious. I had the chicken and waffles, the chicken was super well battered and seasoned. Additionally, the waffles had flavor to them! it was a nice portion for the price it was asking for! I would definitely come here again next time I visit.

Great spot in Virginia Beach (Veteran owned) for a cold beer and a bite to eat. Let them know you're a Veteran and you get a free beer!

THIS PLACE WAS SO GOOD. I got the hot chicken sandwich and then I came back the next day to eat it again. It was YUMMYYYY. the ambiance is wonderful and everyone seems happy. Definitely go here.

Great little brew pub with excellent beer and food. My wife absolutely loved the seafood pasta and my chicken and Waffles were excellent. Would go back.

First time here, and I'm glad we tried it. We had the VB hot chicken sandwich and the jalapeño burger. The chicken sandwich was recommended by our server and it was a decent size portion. The burger was good but definitely on the smaller side of things. The waffle fries didn't come out hot, lukewarm so it wasn't at its peak taste. Service was good and fast.

My party of two arrived at peak dinner time- 6 pm. There would have been a 15 minute wait to be seated but we lucked out and scored the last two bar seats. Bartender chris was phenomenal! He was individually taking a party of 11's orders so they wouldn't have to wait an hour. Chris is everything you want in any job. Friendly, fast, and good. Dude rocks! Don't know what he makes but he's a gem and should be given a financial pat to keep him on side. The gal bartenders were awesome too. And the COOK! he kept bringing out orders that were exceptional! Mahi, shrimp tacos, fried pickles and crab dip were A One! Looking forward to our next visit.

We are in town for w softball tournament and wanted to head towards the beach for dinner. Yelp helped us find a brewpub. Parking was on the street close by to the restaurant. The 4 of us, were greeting right away and sat in a booth. I'd rather had a table since it was Tony and the girls along with me for the evening. Plenty of space inside and looked a bit rustic. Plenty of beers to choose from including Porters, Stouts, IPAs, and Sours. You can buy 4 packs as well. I choose a Sour, Raspberry and Lemon. For appetizer, we got fried pickles. They were slices with a good aioli sauce. Bella and I got the Chicken Tacos. They were a bit more spicy than expected by the menu. The bacon and chicken were cooked very well. Chicken lightly breaded. Tony and Liv got burgers. Liv was a bit overcooked for medium while Tonys was spot on. Wedge fries were very good. The question as always is would we come back. We may try another place rather than making a special trip back since there are so many other places to try along the strip.

What a fun place to enjoy great beer flavors and types! My daughter and I enjoyed two flights of vastly different beers and was a great way to determine our favorites. The server was great making sure we had everything and then checked up on us. Lots of cool military artifacts. We got some great canned beer to go and loved the packaging!

After 10 years at Virginia Beach, we discovered this gem. The service was fast and efficient. The food came out freshly prepared and hot. We got multiple appetizers that we shared and they were all delicious. Each plate was unique and flavorful! Wish we would have found this place sooner!

We work in the bar industry and support all of our locally owned bars, we showed up at 3:30 today to buy tickets to the show tonight, they had a bar crawl going on, we asked security how we could buy tickets, they were still on sale online, we were told to come back when doors opened, when we came back it was sold out even though online it still says tickets are available at the door, and we weren't allowed to buy tickets to attend the event. Manager wouldn't even come outside to talk to us about it, great customer service! 10/10 would not recommend.

Solid 5 out of 5 stars, bartenders were amazing. Super fast service. Heads up bartenders. Didn't take long at all to get drinks. Clean bar. We loved the plum (hibiscus?) Gose/sour and also tried the creamier sour that was more berry forward and slightly more tart called the purple flower, I think. We ended up stopping in on a super eventful night when they hosted wrestling, and they had a relatively large turnout for the event. We had to leave a little earlier so we could only stay for 1 beer. We grabbed a 6 pack of the pineapple ale and enjoyed those the next two nights at the pool. All in all, it's a good spot to head for local craft brews. Jake n kev

The fam and I came in here for an early dinner! It was the highest rated restaurant in proximity to the hotel we were at. My mom got the beer battered fish tacos and my sister got the bunker burger, I didn't get a chance to try them but they said both were phenomenal. Crab Cake Sandwich: I got this and was pleasantly surprised with it! The crab cake itself was super moist and flavorful. I just wish they put more of the remoulade sauce on it initially. Other than that it was a stand out sandwich. The service and ambiance were both great. They really go all out with the bunker theme and it makes for a unique dining experience. There were only two servers when we were there but it wasn't too packed so all went very smoothly and swiftly. Would come back here again!

Employees were very attentive and the food is what you'd expect at a brewery. The beers I had were a tad watery compared to what I'm use to. The back story is that two vets opened the place. We'lll be back!

Everything could improve. This must be a good drinking spot because the food is horrible. We had the chicken and the fish sandwich. Both were tasteless. The waffle fries were cold and hard. Service was mediocre.

Not sure why this place is so highly rated. The food and service are mediocre at best. Don't be sucked in by the reviews. Parking is very difficult which I know is not the fault of the restaurant but why go?

Every year, my colleagues and I choose this place for our annual social gathering, and we always reserve the back area. The staff members are consistently friendly and accommodating. The food they serve here is truly delicious, and on each visit, we are delighted by their selection of excellent charcuteries. It's an ideal venue for social gatherings, thanks to the presence of a bar and two seating areas, one in the front and one in the back. The ambiance of the place, resembling a garage warehouse, adds a unique and cool touch to the experience.

Food was delicious. Had the crab dip which was loaded with crab. Chicken, bacon ranch tacos and shrimp tacos, both were great. Not a big fan of the pasta. Service was fast and server was super nice. Comfortable seating.
