Yelp
Found this place via Reddit; was looking for a good replacement for the dearly departed Burger Guys, and this place carries that torch with pride! Most of the seating is outdoors, so expect the inside to be crowded if it's cold out. The patio area is really nice though, and most of it is under cover to keep the rain off.
Sadly, I can't give this place a full five stars just yet based on our first impression, but having learned my lesson, I'll try something different for my own meal next time. Both Beef and Impossible Burgers are off the menu for me (I have some weirdly specific allergies/intolerances) so I opted for the veggie patty - with the toppings from the Kimchi Burger. Even with me expecting the toppings to pull their weight, it was still disappointing; the patty barely seemed seasoned at all and didn't taste of much. I can eat pork, so next time I'll try their pulled pork sandwich and I'll update my review if it fares better.
As for the other four stars though? First star, the fries, which are double-cooked and all the better for it. Second, the dipping sauces - if you're getting just plain fries, the bacon aioli is great on the side. The rest? Three words; Rocket. Fuel. Shake.
Anyone who knows me can attest I'm not really an ice-cream person, nevermind someone who'll order a milkshake more often than once in a blue moon, but this blew all of my expectations out of the water. Dark chocolate, coffee, and the bitter flavor of a really good stout, offset by a sweet and creamy shake... we only got one because we both need to watch our sugar intake, but me and my husband passed it back and forth all throughout lunch. If you've never had an alcoholic milkshake, try this one. It won't get you hammered but 8th Wonder's stout has the most incredible flavor, and for us, it'll be a must-have every time.
Can't wait to come back!
