West Africa Meets Eastern Europe at Stork in Mayfair | Eater London

"Opened at the end of April in Mayfair on Cork Street (close to the Burlington Arcade off Piccadilly), this two-tiered restaurant presents modern British cuisine infused with West African and Eastern European flavours, built around the concept of a migratory "journey" that gathers tastes along a stork’s path. Owned by Nigerian Michael Adjovi Kalu and Moldovan Nadina Grigoras, the project draws on their backgrounds and positions the menu as a global fusion reflecting those heritage influences. Seating around 120 covers, the kitchen is led by chef Adebola Adeshina, who brings experience from fine-dining kitchens and spells working with Gordon Ramsay (six years at Aubergine in the 1990s) and Marcus Wareing; he stresses using top-quality produce and catering to diverse palates. The founders — described as former tech entrepreneurs and wine developers turned restaurateurs — aim to introduce the less-familiar flavours of West Africa and Eastern Europe to a wider London audience, framing the menu as a "true migration of taste." - Adam Coghlan

I stopped by the Burlington Arcade in Pasadena and loved how easy it was to walk around. The shops offer a nice mix of selection depending on what you are looking for and it is fun to browse without feeling rushed. The service in the stores I stepped into was friendly and low pressure which made the experience even better. Prices felt fair for the area and there is something for different budgets. Everything was clean and the storefronts were inviting. The bright red telephone booth is such a fun prop for pics and definitely adds to the vibe. It is a cute stop if you are already in the area and want something low key and easy.

Google
A cute spot for a quick Instagram photo if you’re already in the area, but not really worth going out of your way for. Most of the shops close early, and there are quite a few vacant spaces, which makes it feel a bit underwhelming. Nice for a brief stroll, but not a must-see destination.

Google
The vibes was nice , but there wasn't much to see. Most of the shops were closed, so it felt like a bit of a waste of time 🤷🏻‍♀️

A hidden gem! This well designed corridor has high ceilings and quaint shops inside with seating down the middle. A variety of boutique stores ranging from a barbershop, 2 coffee spots, a hairdresser which is also a kimono store (very cool!), a tailor, a traditional Chinese dress maker, antique store, and the cutest plant store called “MonsteraDuet”. We just went to the Mandarin( one of the coffee shops) and sat down for a little. Definitely an aesthetic spot for photos or to casually meet with a friend. Will definitely come back !

Google
It's a nice arcade style mini market with nothing special only one coffee shop and one restaurant and plenty of boutique shops. But it's very Instagrammable and you could end up having a new profile picture 😉.

Google
This is a lovely shopping arcade in South Lake District of Pasadena. It is reminiscent of old shopping malls in England. Some shops have closed; I especially miss the Contessa Italian store. There are multiple beauty, grooming and spa related shops now. They also house Float Cafe, Mandarin Cafe and Oink Moo tea and boba. The plant store is a new addition. It’s a nice place to sit and admire the architecture.

Google
It was late, so it was not crowded at all, a nice stroll, very enjoyable

Burlington Arcade,on historical Lake Avenue in Pasadena California, is an architecturally beautiful arched walkway that resonates of vintage shopping arcades from the past. It's a nice side journey off your 'gramable walk on Lake Avenue. There are interesting shops and services throught he arcade such as salons, tailors, barbershop, wine shop espresso, sandwich, ice cream shop and kimono store. Plenty of parking, family friendly and a neat one stop location. . . . #burlingtonarcade #lakeavenue #floatshop #blokesmensstore #blokes #pasadena #espresso #icecream #icecreamfloats #californiadreaming #californiadreamin #instaworthy #instapasadena

Yelp
As of July 2025 half the shops were vacant. Not really worth seeking it out unless you want a photo opp.

Yelp
Pasadena's Burlington Arcade was inspired by London's historic Burlington Arcade. It even has an iconic red phone box in the courtyard. The elegant architecture gives this quaint indoor shopping plaza its charm. Beautiful wood-framed curved windows and graceful arches are reminiscent of the historic British malls. The open-air entrances and quaint courtyard in the center makes you feel as if you've been transported to Europe. Inside you'll find clothing boutiques, a coffee shop, a modern soda fountain, a beauty salon, and even a store that sells authentic kimonos. If you appreciate architecture I suggest paying this place a visit. It's a great spot for photo ops, taking a leisurely stroll, shopping, or just grab a sandwich from Float and a coffee from Mandarin and sit in the courtyard and enjoy the ambience. *Free parking lot

Yelp
Such a wasted space, aside from a coffee shop and a couple small businesses, this beautiful space is a missed opportunity as the places that are renting here are the wrong kind of places for this kind of space. . Should be lively and bustling but just is dead. Could take some cues from the original in London. Shame.

Yelp
I love coming to the coffee shop here, Mandarin coffee for the Vienna latte, but I just love the look of Burlington arcade, it has a London vibe , i also love eating at Nick's a few doors down . There's also a couple of cute little shops, I'll have to try the nail salon that's also in this complex while enjoying my latte.

Yelp
Burlington Arcade is, from what I can tell, a pretty close copy of the Burlington Arcade in London. An outdoor department store...just in the Pasadena version, quite a bit smaller. You can easily walk from one end to the other in a minute. This place has charm to spare, from the architecture, the lights, the red London phone booth. If you are addicted to taking selfies, this is the place for you. There are a number of shops, most of which are rather upscale. A children's boutique clothing store. A kimono shop/hair salon. Two cafés. A tailor. A spa. It's important to note that most of these stores close rather early. The place would be very picturesque if open late, with the hanging lights and all. But it seemed that almost all the stores are closed by 5pm. This is definitely worth a look if you are in the area. Not really worth it as a primary destination, but maybe a side-quest, if you will.

Yelp
It's a ghost town. The nail salon and barber shop were open. Everything else was papered over. Closed. So disappointed.

Yelp
6$ for full day parking which is so nice There's a great coffee shop and sandwhich place inside. Lots of shops nearby. Ideal spot for photos. Don't go when it's heat advisory hot out. Very tiny! But cute!

Yelp
This is a pretty cool spot. There's a few shops located here but walking through here makes you feel like you're in Europe. Definitely picturesque moments and overall cool things to checkout.

Yelp
This is a cute little corridor tucked away in Pasadena that's pretty easy to miss. There's about 10 little shops that share this cute space, ranging from cafes, flower shops, nail salons, to clothing stores! Theres a row of small tables in the middle for seating, since most of the stores are pretty small. I saw some people bring their dogs, and others bring their laptops, and others just chatting away. My friend and I came to get coffee from Mandarin Coffee, and it was a cute spot to hang out and catch up! Definitely would recommend bringing someone here if they like cute, aesthetic places!

Yelp
I love this place so much that I could never display it or say it in words. I've been here many times for coffee and tea and shopping. The architecture is absolutely stunning. Every time I come here everyone is happy and smiling. I mean how could you not be, right? There are tons of different businesses within this complex to chose from. Truly, this is how shopping should still be everywhere today. Under a roof, but outside with a little courtyard in the middle. The service is always great at the places I've ate, drank and shopped at. There is tons of selection in all regards. The prices are fair at most of the places I've been to. Go check it out and enjoy it :)

Yelp
Burlington Arcade is a cool little shopping area in the heart of Pasadena. It is a very small corridor and easy to miss if you're not looking for it. Once you enter, it feels like you've been transported to London. Architecture inside is beautiful with the wooded framed curved windows, the red telephone box and arches as you walk down the corridor. As I said, the place itself is very small. But there are number of shops that you can look at or buy stuff at and sit and have a boba, coffee maybe or a float eat some food and just take him the atmosphere. They have OinkMoo Boba shop, a Plant & Flower shop, Float is a place for coffee, food, root beer floats, etc. Jellylab for Crystals, gifts, jewelry, Mikko's hair that is connected to a Kimono shop that has beautiful Japanese Kimono's and items inside, Contessa is an Italian foods spot and a number of other places. You can walk through it in a matter of minutes, so don't expect a full day, buf you can take some great pictures, look in all the shops, buy some stuff, get some food and drink, etc. You will have a good time and day taking it all in and feeling like you left Pasadena. They do need a good fish and chips spot here though, it would only be fitting. I should open one. Enjoy!

Yelp
This is a cute little area with about 10 shops located just off Lake Street in Pasadena. They have eateries, flower shops, and hair stylist places. I simply had to write a brief review since it was awesome to walk through this alley-like area and see all these professional shops. Check it out if you have time and make sure to stop by Mandarin and Float.

Yelp
The London feel located in Pasadena. A few tailor stores and a boba shop. Calm cool and places to sit as well. Great for a photo op.

Yelp
A beautiful shopping center located in Pasadena fashioned after the Burlington Arcade in London. Even has a red phone booth too! There are some interesting shops, lime this custom Kimono shop. Definitely very photogenic. Instagrammable.

Yelp
Came because of the social media hype. Cute walk through, but not much to it. Many businesses were closed.
google avatar

Yelp
I drove close to 4 hours total to and back to see that it was just a charming walk way with only a few businesses. I got there around 5:30pm and there were only 3 shops open, the plant shop, the nail salon and the Japanese Kimono store. I was disappointed, I tried to make it a fun trip and walked around but to no surprise there was not much around either.

Yelp
These beautiful European looking buildings are disappearing from California sadly. Thankfully this small location exists here in Pasadena:). This is very cozy European looking arcade, it's nice to stop by at small coffee shop and have a sip:).

Yelp
Burlington Arcade is absolutely one of the hidden gems of Pasadena if not in all of Southern California. I use to work right across the street and I would come here during my lunch and it feels like you are transported to London. It really does feel like you are in Europe with its beautiful architecture and picturesque lights. Fun fact is that it is inspired by a shopping center in London. Some of the top shops to visit are Float, which is a sandwich/dessert/coffee shop and Contessa Chocolate Collection. There are also a few other interesting mom and pop shops. 5 stars!

Yelp
The historic Burlington Arcade, as the original department store, is home to fine watch and jewelry boutiques, luxury perfumers and luxury fashion houses. The stylish and antique establishment now also serves as the home for hair salon, tailor shop, pasta store, coffee and ice cream etc.
google avatar

Yelp
It's just a Instagram spot to take pics and it's pretty dead place except two food places there. I parked Macy's parking across street and walk around. It takes me only 2 min to look around and taking pics in the Arcade. Cute red phone booth is for social media pics you want to take.

Yelp
Small. But cute Parisian like cafes And shops. Close to all shopping in area. I will go again and again

Yelp
Walking through here always takes me back to London England. This arcade never seems to be completely full so it must be pretty costly to run a business here. The new boba shop brought us here and it was buzzing with customers but only a few at a time were allowed inside due to the ongoing C19 pandemic.
google avatar

Maile L.

Yelp
Gorgeous spot. One of my faves. Love how it looks just like London. Visit this spot if you're in Pasadena!

Yelp
Super cute alley and gem in Pasadena! Enjoyed the little coffee shop and boba shop in the plaza!

Yelp
Burlington Arcade is a British-inspired plaza with beautiful stores and hanging lights. It's a mini version of the original Burlington Arcade in London. There are boutiques, coffee shops, and a bakery. Small businesses also come by on weekends for pop-ups. This location is super cute and aesthetic, perfect the gram! It's a good place to take pictures and enjoy the day out. It's a hidden gem in the city of Pasadena! There is plenty of parking available.

GB G.

Yelp
No, I wouldn't recommend the Arcadia store and I just was told it's closing at at the end of the month if you want to go to a nice Burlington go to the one in Monrovia it's nice clean and beautiful.

Yelp
not what I had in mind.. not really a shopping mall.. just few stores and three places where you can eat.. there were two empty stores that was available for lease.... tried this soda float place which was ok.. not much to see or explore...

Yelp
Pretty and nice to walk around and enjoy a lot to choose from to eat and shop. Parking was really easy as well

Yelp
This place makes you feel like you're visiting the UK. It's a good place to take good pictures. There are small shops in that area, mostly cafe and boba shops. But there is a hair cutting place too. If you want to feel like your in the United Kingdom, than come to this place

John P.

Yelp
Beautiful place but not a good place to get a cup of coffee and relax. Coffee from the sandwich shop was bad. Sandwich I ordered tasted awful and I trashed it after two bites.
google avatar

James S.

Yelp
It's not that big but there is plenty of shade and I love the architecture, its iron and bronze mixed with onyx. I rate this high just alone on the fact that this place is where you can find Rootbeer Joe's Sandwich Shop I will definitely be back to this place because I am hooked on Rootbeer Joe's sammies!

Yelp
Cute little shopping area with a few mom and pops. My favorites are Tiny Universe (cute knickknacks) and Contessa (italian delights). The people are friendly and helpful and I have never been when it is super crowded so it feels like my little secret. :)

Mary M.

Yelp
Came here at 8pm Saturday but unfortunately the shops were closed already. Although I did do some window shopping it seems pretty neat. They had a movie playing with lights at the end of the hallway with people sitting and watching a film for free. Thought it was pretty neat... guess I have to return when the shops are open for a more detailed review
