"Start your morning at the downtown bakery and café The Butcher & The Baker. The “Day Maker Sandwich” will indeed make your day. It consists of organic eggs and house-made pepper jam on a scratch English muffin, tucked into compostable packaging so you can take it on the road. You could easily eat every meal at this adored shop, with its artisanal pastries, fresh loaves of bread, salads, and stocked deli case."

"With a name like The Butcher & The Baker, this locally owned favorite reads like a Disney movie storefront—and it should. Everything inside is pure magic, especially for the food-obsessed. Stop by to dine on local cheddar cheese curds and carrot cake with a buttermilk glaze, or pick up some picnic accoutrements, like house-roasted meats and handmade sausages. The almond croissants are so blissful, they rarely make it out the door."

The restaurant served a fresh fare. Some green salads and nice made partisan sandwiches. They also had great desserts key lime Pie. They have nice outside feeding puppy, friendly in a great community with a nice view of the mountains. How would suggest not bringing a big crowd? Most tables only fit 6 people.

Google
Shopping and supporting local is my favorite thing to do! This cafe supports local as well. The atmosphere was clean and inviting. The food was delicious. Locally sourced items, produce grown on their own farm and they bake and make everything by hand. This place is delicious. Try the Turkey sandwich with jam and brie, so yummy.

Google
Fabulous food. Smaller interior so try to scout a seat. Did not love the famous tuna sandwich but the reuben and the lentil soup were fantastic. Fries were also really good.

Google
so sweet and cute! and they had gluten free options! really delicious and the space was great. we sat in the back patio and it was pretty quiet

Google
Another stop in Telluride, another case of expectations meeting reality—with a thud. I had high hopes walking into this spot, but unfortunately, the experience fell flat. The bread pudding? A sugar bomb that leaned more towards syrupy mush than the rich, balanced indulgence I was hoping for. And the cappuccino? Let’s just say it had everything but coffee. While the atmosphere had its charm, the delivery fell disappointingly short. Perhaps I caught them on an off day, but for a place with such promise, I expected a bit more finesse.

Google
Stopped here for a mid morning cup of coffee and a snack! First time I’ve ever had a homemade pop tart. Very tasty! Also had a homemade elderberry soda! Definitely try this place if you are in Telluride!

Google
Ordered two breakfast sandwiches to go this morning. Turns out the eggs on the sandwiches were sunny side up and after just a light, short walk, we opened the bag to an absolute mess that was inedible. So disappointing. I would have taken a photo except I was too covered in egg to grab my phone. It was a great place to dine in, but we do NOT recommend getting a to go order from here.

Google
Recommend by locals. Amazing breakfast burrito with sausage and sweet potatoes. The apple poptart scone is delicious and huge. Coffee is also excellent.

Yelp
Excellent, giant baked goods at an awesome price. Nicole is just the coolest; the staff and the atmosphere is so relaxed, really makes you feel at home

Yelp
Very cute, bustling place! (Even Nancy, the sparrow, enjoyed popping in to visit!) the food was great, service is definitely hit and miss though! We were received with warm hellos greeting us as we started our day off with a hearty breakfast... BUT the guy that took our order seemed to have been "partaken with the medicinal smoke"- he simply couldn't get our order taken correctly. He completely didn't enter my order, despite his acknowledgment of having gotten it. We had to tell him THREE (3) times my husband ordered pineapple juice, NOT apple, NOT orange- and yet it arrived at our table as orange juice, even though he confirmed he had the correct request. The baked goods are AMAZING! Would I go back? PROBABLY not. I prefer staff members who don't work in an inebriated state of mind.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere and the food was amazing! I think it's actually really cool that they have you buss your own table. 1.) boyfriend got the breakfast burrito and said "10/10 that sweet potatoes tortilla made it" 2.) veggie hash with an egg was phenomenal so many great veggies cooked perfectly and flavored amazing 3.) blueberry poptart UNREAL not overly sweat and just the right amount 4.) to go spicy udon noodles OMG I'm obsessed so good--a bit spicy but I love heat Honestly could eat here for every meal ahha. Very fresh and so many flavors
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent I'm gonna come back in there and order those pop tarts they look so good. Everything tasted excellent.

Yelp
Full of light, airy and welcoming. Glad to see the no laptop sign since the seating is limited They do have outside seating as well by the way. Across from the Masons Hall cinema on the main drag. Prices reflect the overall inflated prices everywhere in telluride but the cookies I tried were fresh and delicious
google avatar

Yelp
Great cozy little spot. Good coffee, enticing cocktail menu. Will be coming back tomorrow evening for that. Pop tart was delicious.

Hannah L.

Yelp
You need to try their chocolate croissant It's everything! I think I came here 3 days in a row.. Also their fresh squeezed Oj was delightful. The source some of the best oranges.

Shawn O.

Yelp
This place is very disrespectful to tourists and even have a sign posted that locals not required to wait in line

Yelp
What a cute cafe! The vibes are immaculate here. Like most things in Telluride, this place is not inexpensive but more affordable than other choices. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with tomato and spinach and a hazelnut latte. The food was good, and the latte was delicious.
google avatar

Anthony C.

Yelp
I had the simple breakfast sandwich and a drip coffee black. The sandwich was fantastic just like mama make it. Literally this sandwich is exactly how my mama has made them for me for the past 40 years. So of course I loved it. This place is so simple and cute. From the lucky 7 bar seats the perfectly spaced high top tables, long window bench and 7 cute 2 seater butcher block tables. I am a simple man, and this place suits my needs perfectly. The service was fast, efficient and friendly. And they play great music! I love the place!

Yelp
Fantastic experience! The staff was exceptional and the food was amazing. So many delicious farm-to-table options. And the baked area...... SO AHHHMAZING! Hand made pop tarts to fill custom cakes. We didn't get any this time but we WILL be back tomorrow for some of those scrumptious looking croissants. Flyaway flaxky goodness. I can tell they're going to be delightful. The staff reminded me of what exceptional service should look like. Kids menu options also great and the grab and go was superb options. Great for dietary restrictions too. Healthy and delicious. Everyone was pleasantly surprised and delighted. Thank you!

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere. Very cool local vibe with amazing desserts. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Nice little place for fresh foods that seem to support the local community. Breakfast and lunch

Yelp
Ended up here after a morning hike at Bridal Veil. There was line to order but it moved fast. I had a lemonade while my husband tried the Ginger margarita. Drinks came instantly. However our order for food took so long to come, that I started thinking that our order was lost. However my sandwich of fried green tomatoes was SO good. It was crispy, tangy and had a great sauce. My husband loved his lunch special of Caesar salmon salad. Quite a unique take on it. My son had the B&B burger and had no complaints!

Yelp
Hmm- I know this place is CRAZY popular and yes their food is good, and fair to slightly higher priced - 2 people= 2 bloody Mary's, 2 breakfasts with no extras and 2 cupcakes to go= $71 Pros: great food, great location, inside and outside seating - coffee is amazing (vanilla latte!) Cons: can't order online, line is always out the door (which yes they say goes fast- ish, but wait for food is long) 1 unisex bathroom and so that line is long - it's VERY loud inside - couldn't hear servers at all when sit at the bar Food: Avocado toast is actually 1 piece of toast, slices avocado and arugula w side of salsa. Eh? But if you use your own fork, mash it up w salsa in it THEN it tastes better and doesn't fall apart when you eat it Granola bars are a 10! But sell out quick - seriously get one! Pop tarts are so good, but more pastry then filling really - wish they increased the amount inside Bloody Mary mix- good but wish it didn't have pickled onions in the pre- mix Overall very nice people/ great mission with all fresh food, but def need to get an order on line and pickup window going.

Yelp
Nice spot to eat brunch with friendly staff and bartenders. Their food was not bad but not great. Very confused on why they added a slice of watermelon to my burger and fries but to each their own I guess. They are located right on the Main Street in telluride so it's definitely in a convenient location as well.
google avatar

Alex Z.

Yelp
This is a popular local favorite. They have easy sandwich and pastry to choose from. Usually line is long but move fast, seats are available inside and outside, only problem is that bathroom is small it might need to wait for a long time. I had the shishito pepper, personally I'm not a fan. It's deep fried but not roasted, soaked in honey so it's a bit too sweet for my taste. The fish sandwich I had the fish portion inside is a bit let down, there's only few pieces of deep fried fish in the middle and lacking some flavor.

Yelp
Cute bakery and lunch spot on Colorado Ave. The pastries looked incredibly yummy. We just had a light lunch - there are wraps and sandwiches, along with some other heavier dishes but most sandwiches. My chicken salad wrap was very good and served with home made chips and a large piece of pineapple. Every dish is served with a big piece of fruit - spouse had honeydew melon. Indoor seating is limited, but out back there is a larger deck with additional picnic style seating. Servers will bring you food out to you. Overall very lively and busy. Great staff who were super attentive and got orders out quickly.

Yelp
Everyone recommended this place to us. We went for dessert after dinner. Cupcake was cold and kids weren't fans of it. We had to ask for bread puffing to get heated up 2x but then it was delicious. Seemed overrated but maybe it was just a bad night
google avatar

Fredy M.

Yelp
Went in there today with my partner. Got the burger, the cheesesteak and the creamy tomato soup. Fire. Loved it. Everything tasted fresh. The melon that came with the meal was so juicy and good. 5 stars without a doubt.
google avatar

Sandi R.

Yelp
This place was hopping! The pastries are huge and look amazing, but the apparent go-to are the homemade POP TARTS! Service was fast and they have a cute strip of outdoor seating where you can people watch. Lots to choose from on the menu. My lunch was delicious and I will definitely be returning when through Telluride again!
google avatar

Marissa G.

Yelp
Holy cow. The raspberry pop-tart here is so good that I might make an annual trip just to get one. The service was excellent, the ambiance was great. The food was delicious and well priced. Definitely one of the best spots in Telluride!
google avatar

Yelp
Yes! Glad to see BnB doing well. THE spot for a better-than-average breakfast burrito. Oh, and that arugula salad! Attentive staff, good vibes, central location on T-Rides main drag.
google avatar

Grace K.

Yelp
I love how small and personal this place is. We found seats at the counter and had their breakfast sandwich with bacon and oatmeal which was warming in a hot holding container. From behind the counter, our server added the toppings to my oatmeal which made the place seem even homier. In a world that is becoming unaffordable and impersonal, we found their restaurant to be charming.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was so homey and fresh! Baked goods looked delicious we just wished they had vegan options Service was very accommodating and prompt Highly recommend the Kombucha on tap
google avatar

Chrislyn B.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast with a little bird friend! I had the breakfast salad and my husband ordered a sandwich, both were delish.
google avatar

Chelsea C.

Yelp
This place! Holy shirt balls Batman. As a baker and foodie this place was delightful. We had an apple pop tart, chocolate cupcake, chocolate croissant, and raspberry bar. All were phenomenal. The Philly cheese shake sandwich was also so good.
google avatar

Yelp
We were in town for 7 days and ate here 8 times! Yup, the food is that good. Our breakfast favs were the Vanilla nitro cold brew, breakfast burrito, avocado toast, simple scramble sandwich, and eggs and bacon plate. Came for lunch and dinner and tried the burger, salad and steak. Brunch menu was great too. Tried multiple pastries as well. Everything was delicious. Healthier options and family friendly. Line moves fast and very friendly place.
google avatar

Eleanor A.

Yelp
The coffee was mediocre but the pastries were great. I'd definitely come back to try more food.
google avatar

Linda L.

Yelp
Dropped in here for some quick pre-shredding breakfast and I gotta say...YUM! Me and the hubs both ordered the bacon breakfast sandwich (two farm fresh eggs & cheddar on a homemade english muffin with bacon). Hubs also got a fresh baked blueberry pecan scone. One word...DELISH! When in Telluride...this locally owned "farm-to-table" gem is an absolute must! Service was friendly and quick!
google avatar

Allison T.

Yelp
What a gem this place is. Greeted by warm smiles & the ambiance is very welcoming. I got the Veggie Hash & added an over medium egg & the flavor of the farm fresh vegetables were to die for. I could eat this for breakfast, lunch & dinner. My husband got the Day Maker and we'd both give this a 3.5/5. Not bad but not a whole lotta taste going on. Iced vanilla latte was yummy. Not to mention the PASTRIES. We got a chocolate croissant & raspberry poptart, ate both of those 5 hours later and it was bomb. Pricey place but worth it.

Ana B.

Yelp
Great option for Celiacs - not fully gluten free but they take care not to cross contaminate. Having said that, my bun did fall apart. But delicious nonetheless! Staff are friendly and helpful! Laptop Free Zone, FYI.

Yelp
Food: 50/50 Service: 25/25 Ambience: 24/25 Total: 99/100 As a visitor of Telluride this breakfast spot really knocked it out the park for me! The aesthetics were on point , clean , warm and inviting. One item for improvement would be to have comfier chairs, maybe pillows on the seats? Overall though, The Butcher & The Baker offers a wife variety of options for breakfast- from sandwiches, to bowls, to grab and go pastries, you really have plenty of options! The spinach breakfast sandwich was delishh. It normally comes on an english muffin but I got it on a croissant for an up charge. It was totally worth it! Of course no breakfast is complete without an oatmilk latte!!! I love that they served me it in a mug to enjoy while sitting. Hubby got an english muffin toasted with butter and jam on the side. 10/10 would recommend coming here if you're visiting Telluride!

Yelp
Ooof. Sunday brunch. Let's start with the good! The food. Breakfast burrito was a 10/10. These are premade but served hot and they give them right when you order. The food is definitely fresh and quality- you can tell it's farm to table. My husband got the daymaker sandwich and said it was also very good.... Just took 40+ minutes. Which we will get to next. So, the not so good. Service... yikes. It was very (understandably) crowded for a Sunday morning with a line out the door. It moved fairly slow. I get it, it's busy. However, the same person taking orders was handing out pastries and making coffees/other NA drinks. Another woman seemed to be around just huffing and puffing about how busy it was? Then there was one person running food and one bartender. So no one really tending the register at all times. Maybe it was an off or short staffed day? After the long line, sandwich took over 40 mins to come to table. It does seem that they have a fairly small kitchen but still, just felt like things were run inefficiently. It also seems they are VERY annoyed with tourists and visitors, which I get, but.... Isn't that what accounts for a large portion of their business??? You bus your own tables here, staff was walking in front of customers and essentially not hiding their pout lol. Just kind of an uncomfortable experience. Overall I'd say if you can pick up a to-go burrito, well worth it but otherwise skip it! Plenty of other places to grab lunch or brunch nearby.
google avatar

Jami W.

Yelp
Came here for brunch before heading out of town. When we arrived there weren't too many people which allowed us to sit immediately--within 10 minutes the entire place was filled with customers in every seat. The menu has lots of tasty options and are locally sourced/made. The concept is relaxed where you order up at the counter and bring your food to you/the table. Food was fresh, service was welcoming and the location is super cozy. Much recommend and will be back.
google avatar

Annmarie N.

Yelp
Incredible little treasure! Love the coffee -- best lattes. And super yummy baked goods. All farm to table too. Counter service is excellent. Vegan /vegetarian options. Had the vegetarian mash -- which was quite tasty. And the avocado toast -- bland. Added the hot pepper crunch to make it flavorful. Super vibrant morning energy with all walks of telluride. Makes for fun people watching!

Sally W.

Yelp
Just bought $25 worth of iced cookies. They just threw them in a bag. They stuck to each other and the icing came off of half of them. Not very professional for a bakery.
google avatar

Kathryn S.

Yelp
Excellent spot for lunch. We had the chopped salad and trout! Really Really good. Wish we had come back here instead of trying Baked in Telluride!

Rob H.

Yelp
Goodness ok here, no real complaints there but the guy working the counter was about as rude as he could be. Some little pr!ck that probably had short guys complex, seemed to think that we ( as people who'd never been here before) knew exactly how there little screwy counter service model worked. Smart a$$ little pr!ck wouldn't dare give that attitude from behind the safety of his little register counter. Too bad because the place itself (minus the little napoleon complex guy) was really cool.
google avatar

Val G.

Yelp
Super yummy sandwiches and salads. I've been to Telluride twice and have been to the Butcher and the Baker both times. This time, I got the grilled chicken and bacon and it was delicious. I can't remember what I got last year but I just remember it was yummy enough to make me want to come back
google avatar

Anna L.

Yelp
For a road trip and a hungry girlie, the food hit the right spot. I felt quite satisfied with the taste and quality of the burrito. My only qualm was the price for the size of the burrito served. Service was otherwise quite quick. Ambiance was perfect for a cute coffee shop in this town. They do have signs of no computers to make sure tables stay open, which is something to consider if you are trying to find a coffee shop to sit for a long time!
google avatar

Matt J.

Yelp
I have been to Telluride several times for the film festival and after discovering this restaurant (specifically the kale salad), I get it once a day. It can also be made to go which is perfect for waiting in line or tight windows between films. However, I dock a star because the service is a little inconsistent. Once, when I clearly ordered the veg version with tofu, they brought a dish with both tofu and chicken. When I requested the change, they brought back a dish which I'm pretty sure was the same thing with the chicken taken off as it was way too quick to make a full new one. Also, I've been served at the bar without having to wait in line but other times been scolded by the staff for attempting this. Also, you have to wait in the line even to buy one of their grab and go items which simply doesn't make sense. The salad itself is great. Service, a tad questionable.

Patty B.

Yelp
Everything about this place is excellent. Food, service, ambiance. It's a local small business with farm to table food. They are popular so you may have to wait to be seated and get your food, but well worth it!! Margarita was good too.
google avatar

Mike P.

Yelp
Good food, great service! Stopped in for brunch, sat at the bar/counter and was greeted warmly. Very attentive and proactive. I had the winter omelete and was very happy with it. Nice, comfortable spot for good food.
google avatar

Gwen G.

Yelp
The cutest little breakfast & coffee shop in Telluride! My husband and I were able to sit at the bar to pass the line. Our waitress was attentive but not overbearing. We got yummy coffees, one of the scrambles, and a breakfast sandwich. Plus all their food is farm to table! Definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area!
google avatar

Randi G.

Yelp
The food was very good. The service was good. Their bakery goods are excellent especially their granola chocolate bars, cheesecake and cookies.
google avatar

Landon L.

Yelp
Staying in Telluride offers very few options for just about everything. However, even though I only stayed here for two days. I went to this place three times. Everything I had was great and seemingly from scratch. Definitely the hustle & bustle of the town and absolutely worth a stop whether it's just for a coffee or for a full lunch meal.

Christa H.

Yelp
I ordered bacon and eggs. Seems pretty hard to mess up. The bacon was burned and basically bacon chips. The eggs were scrambled so hard they were hard rubber. To add insult to injury, the menu prices on the website are cheaper than the posted menu prices on the menu in the restaurant. I'd skip this place while in telluride.
google avatar

Nicole C.

Yelp
We got breakfast burritos and breakfast sandwiches to go for our trail drive last week and everything was amazing. I especially loved the breakfast burrito with a fresh sweet potato and sausage. I thought it was over the top delicious. A MUST for Telluride breakfast
