I recently had the absolute pleasure of dining at The Butcher Shop Restaurant, and it certainly lived up to the hype! From the moment I took my first bite, I knew I was in for an authentic, mouth-watering experience. The pan con bistec was an instant favorite – incredibly tender, it literally melted like butter. It was undeniably the softest I've ever encountered, making each bite pure bliss. Beyond that standout, their Cuban sandwich was indeed 'dream worthy,' a perfectly pressed symphony of flavors. I also thoroughly enjoyed the mojo steak and their rich, flavorful chicken fricassé; you can taste the dedication to fresh, in-house preparation in every dish. While it's not a formal sit-down, its bustling, no-frills atmosphere felt genuinely inviting, perfect for focusing on the stellar food. I found the portions generous, and while some might consider it a bit pricey, the sheer quality and abundant flavors easily justify the cost. Though one dish had a hint more salt than I prefer, it was a minor note in an otherwise exceptional meal. This place is a true gem for meat enthusiasts, offering delicious, hearty Cuban cuisine that keeps you coming back. I can see why it has such a loyal following!

Softest pan con bistec i’ve ever had, it was like butter!

The food was great! The staff was friendly and helpful (we were a little unsure on our first time there). The prices are very reasonable and the portions are very good. I had the picadillo lunch special and my husband had pork steak. We will definitely come again. They could use some new counter chairs for eating in.

Google
I was very enthusiastic to try the food for all the raving reviews about this place 😎 sad to say not as expected very expensive for the portions order by (UBBER) the steak sandwich , meat tender (only good thing) but very salty , the chicharrónes small portion $$$ with a huge tamal (scared to open) for a platter . First n last purchase 😞

Google
This place deserves more than just 5 stars. This is the BEST place for chicharron. If you haven’t had chicharron, it’s chunky pieces of pork and skin, super fried until the skin is crispy. Here, the flavor of the chicharron is incredible. You will never have something so tasty, so delicious, so crunch, and so excellent anywhere else in Miami! They sell chicharron by the pound, and for 1 person, 1 pound is plenty. It is sold at $11.99/lb. Don’t sleep on the pork sandwich (pan con lechon). This is going to be the other mind blowing item here! For $6.99, this sandwich is huge and stuffed with juicy pork. The pork is a variety of crispy, fatty, and tender pieces. It’s so good and needs no sauce or anything! I also want to mention that staff are excellent, friendly, and super helpful. The lady at the front quickly helped me understand how their restaurant worked. All the staff making the food had smiles on their faces and were friendly as well. As a recap, the best chicharron in the US is here. I also would get their pork sandwich and maybe a guava and cheese taqueño or pastelito.

Pan con lechon sandwich if not get the ribs & Chicarrones

Google
This isn't what is considered a sit down fancy restaurant. There are places to sit and eat more than half the people get there food to go. What this place is excellent at is, anything butchered. If yiu need excellent hamburger, steaks, ribs, chicken, this is a great place to get those items. As a restaurant there Cuban sandwich is dream worthy. There fried plantains aren't loaded up with corn syrup and a lot of other things that are bad for you. There food is made fresh in house and it shows. The mojo steak, and stews, are among my favorite. They are also excellent for there catering services, and family trays of food. The owner is usually on site too. I've been coming here for over 30 years now.

Google
Pan con lechon its delicious and the steak with onions seco d to none. If you like pork chicharron this spot has the best 👌 not the cheapest but quality of food is top notch.

Yelp
Visited here while I was in Miami from a recommendation of another Yelper. The store is super small like a small hallway after you walk in. There was a little of a language barrier, but it was fine. There's no menu you just tell them what sandwich you want and they make it on the spot and you can take it home or eat it on the counter. The service was good otherwise I got a pork sandwich which came out to $8 for a the whole thing. The sandwich is just a simple meat and bread sandwich pressed, which is absolutely fine. The pork was juicy and had citrus notes. Very filling. I also order a medium ceviche to go, it was $20 but it was packed with fish and shrimp. A little pricy, but worth it. I also got a Cuban coffee which was $1.50 and super tasty. Great quick bites spot.

Yelp
While I was visiting I knew I needed to come stop by the butcher stop and get me my pan con lechon sandwich. I added on some plantains and the meal was absolutely delicious as usual. One of the best in the city!

Yelp
If you are looking for Butcher shop and deli with a variety of Cuban food, this place is a great choice. I ordered a breakfast special that included sunny side eggs, sautéed potatoes, bacon, Cuban bread, and cafe con leche for less than $11. The food was pretty good. The service was great. The place is a small place where you can get very good quality food. One drawback is that they only have a long counter for eating in. But it's worth to get food to go. Will define be back!

Francisco R.

Yelp
The food and the service is great seen it on social media had to come and review it my self the pan con bistec is 10 one of the best one I have ate in a long time the service from David is like I been here for years which is good I'll say make the customer come back again. I recommend this place ( the big guy review)

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in as we were looking for a quick bite while in the area. I had never been to the butcher shop, but the reviews look good. I'm glad that we did stop in as the food was yummy! We ordered the Chicharrón to pick up while we waited for our food. we also tried their housemade sausage, which was delicious. I went with my go to sandwich, which is the roasted pork. This one did not disappoint as the bread had a good crisp to it and the pork was nice and juicy. My husband did the shredded beef sandwich. the beef had great flavor and the texture of his sandwich was delicious. This was all very reasonably priced as well.

Yelp
NEVER AGAIN! That pretty much sums it up. Ordered Noche Buena dinner for 10. Arrived at 230 and was told the wait was "an hour.. at least". An hour and a half later I was still waiting. I asked for an update and was told they ran out of yuca. Really? What? You didn't know how many orders you took? Honestly if I didn't have a choice I would have walked. This place is horribly disorganized. A woman stands at a cashier with a stack of papers barking at people -- customers and staff. It's an absolute antiquated mess. They clearly are greedy and take more orders than they have capacity for. They just make you wait. The irony is they ask you what time you're picking up. It's a joke. Has no bearing on when your order is ready. My order was finally ready after more than two hours of waiting. Just enough time for me to barely make it home before the first guests arrived. The food was good which is the only reason I didn't rate one star, but not as good as I was told and definitely not worth the customer service nightmare and horribly long wait. And the place doesn't exactly uphold the highest sanitary standards. Sitting there watching that nasty hot food section was quite a turnoff. Done! NEVER AGAIN!

Yelp
This place is the best family owned Cuban spot in all of US1! Absolutely worth trying! I've been wanting to come here for years but I just never found the time nor the necessity but NOW?! Game changer! The staff is pleasant, the cafe has a small counter and is what you'd assume a butcher shop/cafe in Miami would be. The food though... ohh that's the real winner here. The food is delicious and tastes like your Abuela's secret family recipe passed down through generations. The craziest part is the realization that big time Cuban restaurants have nothing on this small mom and pop shop.. 12/10!! By the way, the picture of the food with rice and pork.. I couldn't wait to try it and I finished almost half the plate before I took the picture.. what I'm trying to say is the portions are PERFECT!!

Yelp
Wow! The steak sandwich slaps! The first bite it basically melts in your mouth! REPEAT CUSTOMER!

Yelp
What a bonus in our community. First of all, the food is always delicious! We have ordered Easter, Christmas, and Thanksgiving and then we'll stop in for a little treat for ourselves every now and then. It's so comforting to go into the butcher shop everybody's smiling everybody's happy to help you and I'm going to call first and then stop tomorrow morning for the delicious stuffed chicken breast. Don't miss out on those.

Yelp
We love stopping by here for a late breakfast or lunch after exercising in Coral Reef Park. Nowadays in many restaurants prices have skyrocketed, but at The Butcher Shop the meals are still a good value. Pan con Lechon at $6.99 is loaded with tender, juicy shreds of pork, and chicharon is crunchy on the skin and melt-in-your-mouth inside. A glass of guarapo (sugar cane juice) is so refreshing and rehydrating. No surprise this place is bustling all the time!

Yelp
I stumbled upon The Butcher Shop when searching for restaurants in my new neighborhood, and this did not disappoint! The food tasted very fresh and was flavorful. There is limited seating...definitely more of a pick up to-go type of place, but there is a counter with a handful of chairs to dine in. The employees were quick and friendly. We got the masa de puerco with chicharones...fantastic! Hubby got the pan con bistec and I got the croqueta preparada. Both were great. The croqueta preparada had much more pork than I would typically expect for this type of sandwich. Definitely a spot we'll hit up again!

Yelp
Hello everyone! Well hanging out on a rainy Saturday this Labor Day weekend and decided to visit our old faithful in South Dade, "The Butcher Shop" baby! What can I say about this establishment that has not been said in the past that has not been said already but I will give it a shot. This outfit is a down home no frills breakfast and lunch spot that never fails to deliver. Very non descriptive location that does not look like much but do not be fooled, everything here is totally awesome! They pride themselves in their Cuban Pork sandwiches which are amazing but truthfully everything they serve here is delicious and most importantly FRESH. I have to recommend their home made ceviche and escabeche as well as they are delicious. The ceviche as you can imaging is lemon based but the escabeche is tomato based and has both octopus and calamari in it aside from fish. As the name states they do also sell great quality cuts of meat as well at reasonable prices as well. Everything from filet mignon to excellent sausages for grilling and most things in between. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the owners are on site and keeping an eye on everything going on as well. They are old school, super friendly and hey great opportunity to practice your Spanish with them if you are in the mood. The location is a little small but they do have counter space if you want to eat in but most folks stop in, pickup food and take it home or back to the office. Not feeling like breakfast or sandwiches well they got you covered there as well. They have all the usual Hispanic staples and several protein options in their food by the pound section that you can order from as well. Again, everything is fresh and made daily so you really cannot go wrong. Can you tell I love this place.... . Anyway, I'd you find yourselves on US1 and about 142 Avenue and are feeling a little hungry or just liking to take some food back home to the family, well you may want to stop in and check them out. I am pretty sure you will not be disappointed. Just remember this place is all about good quality fresh food! Wishing everyone a great Labor Day weekend, Enjoy and Bon Appétit m'es amis!

Yelp
Love this place!! I came here today to buy chicharrones because my cousin is coming to visit and said that's what he wants!! It's so good!! I also got 6 Cuban breads and a sugar cane juice!! Let's just say that the cane juice didn't even make it 1/2 way home! The guy made it fresh just for me, even though they had 2 in the tray by the cash register! I need to get that guy's name because he was awesome! He was so helpful and so nice! I was tempted to buy a pork leg because it looked so good but I was worried that I would be stuck eating it by myself so I'll wait for another occasion to get it! I want to go back and try more things but I always end up getting the chicharrones because they are so good!! They have lots of fresh juices and Cuban coffee too!! And they are open every day, including Sundays!!

Yelp
We stopped in for a quick meal before golf. We got a Cuban and pork sandwich. First the Cuban was fantastic the right mix of pork, ham, cheese, pickles, mustard and toasted on perfect fresh bread. The pork sandwich was as also so good, this is one of their signature items and my first thought was why isn't there any sauce? But soon as I took a bite I realized it didn't need any sauce the meat speaks for itself. The atmosphere, we are from out of town and didn't know what to get, customers and the staff were very welcoming and helpful, they had suggestions and were happy to tell us what the different options are. Sometimes small business can be intimidating to go into and not know how or what to order this was not like that at all. Prices were also very reasonable. Highly recommend

Yelp
Chicharones were AMAZING! Catered Christmas Eve, and food was just awesome we truly enjoyed. Great family owned business that puts lots of love in what they do. Thank you Juana for all your help you made it easy.

Yelp
Came here after reading all the reviews about how good the pan con lechon was! The strip mall it is located in has plenty of parking. Walked in and the menu is on a board behind the displays. I was greeted right away and it showed on my face I was a new customer so the woman said to let her know when I was ready. The place was busy but not so much so where it's like off putting. Just a good amount of clientele coming in and out. Service is fast and you can't beat that. Once I ordered I was given a ticket and went to the counter to pay. I will say the prices are great for what you're getting. You don't see prices like that these days. I got the pan con lechon and it came PACKED with meat. The meat was so juicy and cooked perfectly. I ate outside but there were plenty of seats inside. It's not a restaurant per se, you sit at like a bar top, but there was enough space to sit comfortably. Everyone was super nice here. I would say it helps if you know Spanish but there was a woman who worked there who spoke English well so she was translating for me when I needed it. All in all, I would certainly come back. I would try something different next time (I don't usually eat pork) but this was great for a first time!

Yelp
The food and the service were excellent! The honey ham was incredible as were the medianoche and the ceviche.

Yelp
The Butcher Shop is a standout sandwich shop which wowed both my husband and mother with their outstanding Pan con Lechon sandwiches. They both rave about it and say it's the juiciest and highest quality pan con lechon they have had. It's definitnely worth trying if you enjoy pork. I don't eat pork but they have had it multiple times and recommend it. I've also ordered their tray of arroz con pollo for the family and it was delicious. It makes for a delicious and easy crowd-pleaser. I'd definitely order from them again.

Yelp
Every single time I'm in Miami, I go out of my way to visit The Butcher Shop & Deli. I discovered this place two years ago (Thanks to Yelp!) and have been coming back ever since. Love their Cubanos and Media Noches!! At $8.99 per sandwich you can't go wrong. These sandwiches are stuffed with meaty goodness, and their Cuban breads are huge; making this a gigantic sandwich! I can usually eat half at a time. They even have a pork sandwich for just $6.99! They also offer a variety of appetizers and meals. Their chicharron is fantastic! I've never had any of their meals since I'm obsessed with their Cubanos, but all the food looks delicious. Portions are huge; prices reasonable; customer service is always friendly, efficient and fast. This is mostly a takeout place but they do have counter seating for about 6-8 ppl if you'd like to eat-in. This is definitely a hidden gem and you should go...but go hungry! Note: This is also a full Butcher Shop and their meats look fabulous! If I lived in Miami, I'd most definitely get my meats there! See you on my next visit to Miami!

Yelp
We came in because my wife was hungry and we used to get our pork sandwich from here. Service was quick but this is a small place just a small counter. Just not the same food quality was ok. Can eat cheaper at a nicer place with more comfort.

Chris C.

Yelp
Pan con lechón on point. Quick service. Cuban sandwich shop vibe. Great music selection. Think "Buena Vista Social Club". They served about fifteen customers while we ate our sandwiches at the counter. Oh yeah, Caldo Gallego just like I remember.
google avatar

Samantha M.

Yelp
Fresh cuts and good spread. Love a good sandwich. Definitely going to try again and soon
google avatar

Mike D.

Yelp
Went there when I was down visiting my brother. I had the Cuban sandwich. It was delicious! The roasted pork on it was succulent and juicy. Had ample amounts of meats and Swiss cheese. The ladies behind the counter were very friendly and all had smiles on their faces. All the food in the hot case looked amazing. I will definitely be back to try something different next time I'm down here. Keep up the good work!
google avatar

Jorge B.

Yelp
This place is not only a great place to buy premium meats. Yes the meats are as good as any other butcher shop if not better in Miami. What makes me drive 15 miles is the pan con lechón with extra chicharrón. OMG, this sandwich is one of the best in the world.
google avatar

Nasim M.

Yelp
Fantastic food, great staff, very little space to seat but food was amazing, fresh, juicy and yummy. I wasn't sure to go to a local restaurant but it was unexpectedly delicious. I just got very smelly because the food smell was everywhere but it didn't stop me from eating. I had Rice pudding , chicken w vegetables and my family had beef. Very nice all of that
google avatar

Meghann B.

Yelp
I could probably eat a sandwich every day if I needed to, so I ended up coming across this place randomly on Uber Eats. Decided to get the croqueta peparada and I can honestly say it's the best version of the sandwich that I've had. The lechon sandwich was delicious also. I recommend this place to everyone I come across!
google avatar

Megan C.

Yelp
Great local spot! David and his staff are so friendly and treat you like family. We had the chicharrones & pan con lechón which was excellent. Also got ground sirloin & pork to make burgers at home.
google avatar

Sonia A.

Yelp
I have lunch at The Butcher Shop at least 1 every two weeks cause you know I like variety! They have delicious Cuban/Latin food and they serve it in those big food containers where the portions are gigantic! You can feed a village with one of their servings! It's a good bang for your buck kind of deal so if you're either that hungry or want to share it with someone or leave half of it for dinner, then this is the place to go.. The place itself is tiny it's like Fritanga style of set up! It could look cleaner all together for some reason it seems a little crowded and busy but maybe it's because there's very little room! The prices are good for the amount of food you get and the food itself is like homemade style! They also have natural juices and soups! The place is also a market so you can pick up meats to cook at home. Parking is sometimes a little tight but if you wait a couple of minutes somebody will pull out fairly quick!
google avatar

Rey F.

Yelp
The meat assortment is out of this world, you name it and they have it. Service was pretty easy and the butcher helped with his wide knowledge. The young man at the counter was very amiable and quick

Yelp
OMG! This was HANDS DOWN The Most Moist and Tender and Tasty Brisket I have had In YEARS. Let's just say that I had some very famous dining Partners in the area and I didn't Even 'Fan Out' Sorry that Brisket TOOK ME SOMEWHERE...deep In my Feelings and on the verge Of Tears. Truly an experience I Will remember for as long as I'm capable. I have been to the Guy fieri 'Spots' to be let down Considerably. So I did not go to this establishment for the 'Hype' but now I may be The new 'Hype Man' SOMEBODY SAY HO! All the Ladies All the Ladies SAY OWWWWW! Somebody Anybody Everybody SCREAM!!!

Igelzma C.

Yelp
Best chicharrones I have had in a long time!! I did a quick stop and the place was cozy, service was so good, server was extremely friendly and helpful. Food 100% delicious!!

Yelp
Best Pan con Lechón and chicharrón in Miami. Period. Service is great and you could always expect to served quickly and with a family type vibe.
google avatar

Isis P.

Yelp
Excellent food and super consistent. I have been ordering sandwiches for a while now and it always fresh. The tamales and chicharrones are amazing!
google avatar

Rocío R.

Yelp
I've had this cafeteria bookmarked for months - curious to try it, but hadn't been in the neighborhood. By the luck of the food gods, I just so happened to be completing a work course in the same shopping center where it's located, so I HAD to stop in. I didn't have a lot of time, but a whole lotta hunger, so I ordered the pan con lechón, some chicharrones, and a cortadito. Everything was JUST right. I was hoping to try their fresh juices, but I was too stuffed. There's always a next time! This spot rightfully deserves all of their positive reviews.

Amy P.

Yelp
Authentic latin meals with made by your mama taste. Great source to cater your next family get together.

Carmelo M.

Yelp
Absolutely the best pork sandwich you will find it there am a big fan of they're ribs angel the owner he's a bit old school but he's good people
google avatar

Melissa C.

Yelp
This is a little hole in the wall, not a fancy or a trendy spot, it's more of a small cafeteria. The food is homemade and cheap! The lechon is amazing and The chicharrones are perfect!! They serve them with a side of lemon and they are salted to a t! We ate there one days and have kept going back. The workers are very nice and friendly. The Cuban sandwich is pretty good too!!
google avatar

Tiany R.

Yelp
Best pan con lechón in Miami. Also definitely get the chicharrones- all I have to say..
google avatar

Maria A.

Yelp
I only went here to pick up an order of roast pork and beans for my works Christmas luncheon. The service was good, friendly. The good looked good. It's not a full service restaurant but they do have a few bar chairs. You can buy food to go from a buffet and I hear their pork sandwich is really good. Definitely want to go and try them. I will update my review once I try them out.
google avatar

Mel A.

Yelp
This place is definitely one of those hole-in-the-wall hidden gems! If you're not really looking, you'll definitely pass by it... So keep your eyes peeled! It doesn't per say look like the average "Butcher Shop" but don't worry, cuz the food and service are off the charts! First, we tried their famous Pan con Lechon & let me tell you... IT HAS CHICHARRONES INSIDEEEE. Yes. It does. It was beyond amazing! I also got an order of chicharrones on their own (cuz why not?!) & these amazing chicharrones were also inside the mofongo I ordered. All were amazing! Aside from the food, the service was really phenomenal! The owners & staff really make you feel like you're one of the family! & all the pictures on the wall give you that home like feel. You would think you're at abuelita's house eating her cooking! I definitely recommend this place! It'll be your go to for a quick bite of some delicious homemade cooking!
google avatar

Lizzette R.

Yelp
Hubby, grandma and I decided to check this place out today. Wanted some meats and heard this was definitely a place to go. Well.... being from NY, this isn't exactly what a butcher shop looks like. We took the drive up from the keys, so we had to order what they are known for. The Lechón sandwich was just as advertised and the pork was fresh and juicy. Delicious lunch sandwich. I ordered the Cuban sandwich and it was very tasty. If you're in the area and want a Cuban lunch, I recommend trying this place. If you want a butcher, it's limited in selection and the meat looked good but I can't attest to the cuts or the quality.
google avatar

Q A.

Yelp
THE BEST CUBAN FOOD IN MIAMI......PERIOD. I have had lechon and pan con bistec since before I could utter my first word so I can tell the difference between the real stuff that's made with love and the commercialized crap. This place is 100% home made quality done with love food. Food is amazing, portions are generous, pricing is amazing, and staff is wonderful. You can't ask for more. If you want delicious, homemade, authentic mouth watering food, take a trip to The Butcher Shop. You will not be disappointed.

Lourdes M.

Yelp
Best pan con lechón in Miami! I have been going here for there cooked Cuban daily specials for over twenty years. They also have a butcher shop with fresh affordable cuts of meats, chicken and homemade ceviches. Don't walk out the door with out one of their huge avocados that don't taste like water! FYI: They also cater parties and do a good job.
google avatar

Dalilah B.

Yelp
So! I left home without eating breakfast or drinking coffee, the headache was coming on lol. I've been craving a pressed sandwich for weeks, any type of sandwich as long as it was pressed. I came across this place and noticed their pan con lechón seemed to be the mother of all pan con lechón. Guys, they added fresh chicharron to it. My heart was so happy when I saw the gentleman that helped me grabbing a big piece of chicharron and chop it. So you have crispy chicharron plus the lechón, they also add some type of mojo before putting the sandwich on the presser. You know how everyone wakes up hungry the day after nochebuena and there's always left over lechón your mom made and some Cuban bread around somewhere? This was it and it was sooo good. It wasn't bland like most places that do lechón, this was well seasoned and juicy. I had to eat in the car, your girl was in a hurry but you can see some of the chicharrón chunks in the picture. Absolute heaven!
google avatar

Yelp
What a great surprise to order Uber eats from a restaurant I receive I little gift. That and the fact that the chicharrones were soooo good and they are not stingy. Highly recommended

I was in the mood for a good pan con lechón sandwich, so I went to The Butcher Shop & Deli which was recommended to me by my friend Ozzy. When I walked in it wasn't what I was expecting from a place called the Butcher Shop. This looked more like a Cuban cafeteria, with all the prepared meals ready to go . I ordered exactly what I came for, the pan con lechón , and I ordered a side of chicharrones on the side. The pan con lechón was awesome . The pork was chopped up and mixed with onions and mojo, exactly how I like it. The Cuban bread was also pressed, which gave the sandwich a nice crunch. The chicharrones we nice and crispy, not the best I've ever had but still very good. Will definitely be back again.
