Wonderful little shop with the widest variety of meats I’ve ever seen in one place! Friendly staff. In the end we settled on the NY Strip and the EXTRA Hot Italian Sausages- while they did not quite “melt our faces off” they were indeed *hot* - and delicious!

This butcher shop is so much better than your local supermarket’s meat department. It has been our go-to place for years for all sorts of meats whenever we go to the Poconos in the summer. Mark the butcher has been in the businesses for decades. Tell him how big your company is and what they like and he’ll tell you what to buy, how much, and how to cook it. He’ll cut it for your the way you want or, if you are like us and have no idea, the best way for the cut of meat he’ll sell you. You can call and order ahead of time, if you want to skip the line. And don’t forget, the place is cash only.

Grilled some sirloin burgers yesterday evening. These were melt-in- your-mouth the best burgers ever. The butcher hand cut the sirloin, freshly ground it, and individually wrapped each burger while I waited. Superb service. Superb product. Incredible variety.

Old school butcher with high quality meats and various cheeses and deli items. Highly recommend if your looking to treat yourself to prime steaks. They do accept cards for purchase now with an ATM inside as well. Friendly and lots of experience in the business.

I have been to nearly every steak house in Philadelphia and the filet I had this past weekend was as good or better than any I have ever had! Damn near could gave cut the thing with a fork. The leftovers were just as good the next morning for breakfast. Brian is doing it right! Prime cuts all the way!

I went for the first time this weekend. Great quality meat and friendly staff. We grilled the steaks today and they were phenomenal! Definitely worth it!

Mark the butcher was extremely helpful and proved to me that he was trustworthy of great product. I gladly bought a $67 piece of porterhouse and he offered clear cut instructions on how to grill. I followed his instructions to the T and I wish one day to come back and thank him personally for the amazing cut and amazing service. I also visited minutes before closing and he and his associate were very willing to accommodate. Truly a real butcher shoppe and a staple in the community.

I have read reviews from this shop. As I read the reviews, I understood the passion that this proprietor has for his work. As we entered the shop, the amount of different available items, was overwhelming. We looked over the cases, made some choices from the frozen meats, and told the lovely woman behind the counter, what we were looking for. She listened, and as soon as the butcher was finished with the prior customer, he prepped our fresh cut ribeyes. We chatted with him and he made a few suggestions, according to our choices. We were thinking the same thing! He seemed pleased that we were so tickled that he approved. This shop is a breath of fresh air. Someone who takes true pride in what they do!

Great service. Not sure of his name but the owner was so nice and we had a great chat and he even gave me insight on the cut that I had and everything. Meat was amazing quality and I will be coming back every time I make the trip up to the Poconos. Lots of exotic meats, even had kobe ribeye which I did buy. Can't wait to come back!

Went to this butcher for some meat LOL! And they educated me on the different cuts and had patience to explain which would cook better based on what I was trying to accomplish. I got the flank steak as well as a rib eye and it was truly amazing. They also have some additional products here. Definitely a lot of Italian special items in jars as well as imported pasta. Boxes of Italian cookies. They also had a few vegetables such and onions and potatoes. Very few but they did still have some. They also offer a huge variety of BBQ sauces and marinades. I went there this Saturday tans there is a sign up that says they are closed until second week of November. I will definitely return once they are open.

The absolute best meat I have ever had. Mark and Debbie both are wonderful. I get cooking advice as well. Get your flank steak seasoned for a delectable meal. The filets are to die for. I ordered 8 filets and after cutting them they also ground up the trimmings into 6 filet burgers which are outstanding. Pork cutlets are delicious and paper thin. The air chilled chicken is so fresh and tasty. We ordered a thanksgiving turkey last year and it was the best we ever had. Pork chops, bacon, burgers, ground sirloin, beef pork and veal mix. You can't go wrong! Headed there today for strip steaks and more!

They have some of the best skirt steak we ever had. The strip was not anything special. CASH ONLY. This problematic when the prices are not very low. I don't carry $50 - $100 me. I believe they have an atm as I was informed. I would purchase the skirt steak again. They also have interesting "exotic" meat selection in the freezer. Overall good place and seems to have fresh product with solid fan base.

Great meat, will be going back. Friendly people. Has other items to buy. All there meats are Fresh.

I've known Marc & Debbie since the mid 1980's. Have never had a bad "anything ".. His steaks are marvelous, sausage amazing. I would take some of his meats back to Jersey. The cheese selections great. He's intense, but really knows his business...

Great quality and assortment of meats and seafood. The owner was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. This is a real gem in the Poconos. I love that shops like this still exist, especially when there are so many restaurants that have low quality dishes- this type of establishment brings back the enjoyment of preparing your own food

Amazing place - definitely check it out. The NY strips we ordered we gorgeously marbled and beautifully trimmed, everyone raved about them. We also got 2lbs of jumbo shrimp and these really were jumbo. They grilled up beautifully and tasted like the sea. I wish we had a place like that near where we live. We'll be back next time we are up in the Poconos.

What a way to be welcomed to this beautiful friendly community. Stay away from this place. Ruined my weekend. I was so upset when I got home and opened my purchase (see image). There was a lady and a guy who was grumpy but that didn't bother me. Now stealing from me... that's unacceptable. He didn't just steal meat he weighed it before cutting out at least 1/2 lb of the best meat. I should have called the cops and gotten my money back but of course, he does this knowing people aren't going to drive for miles back to deal with his pathetic being.

Mark is a knowledgeable butcher and shopkeeper who has been a mainstay of the Poconos for over forty years. Outstanding quality products and customer service. I highly recommend his shop.

So my wife calls from the Butcher Shoppe in a panic to say the proprietors Marc & Debby will be on a well-deserved vacation for three weeks and should she get anything else? Well my freezer is not large enough for everything I wanted to buy!

I had not gone to this store for many years after purchasing steaks and discovering when I got home mangled pieces of meat that I took back back and showed Marc how disgusting they looked. He refused to take them back or refund me. This morning my wife suggested we have a nice pork chop and beans dinner. None of the groceries near me had any center cut chops, so, against my better judgement, went to Marc's and got royally screwed with cuts that were supposedly 1/2" were cu 1/2" on one side and under 1/4" on the other. Will never ever go there again!!!!!

We are new to the area. I love this butcher shoppe.. Marc is old fashion when placing the order . He will call you when ready lol I love that lol He prepped our lamb for Passover (Christ became our Passover) so well with a season i could not copy. lol We Can tell Marc has many years experience. He did this for free for us.. Last time we bought sirloin burgers and chicken So fresh the burger omg how does he do this so good.. so tender. The cheese is great too.. Thank you .. I am about to order again.. So Blessed to have this butcher close to us and we will support him and all meats and vegetables from the local farmers. Thank You MARIE & FREDERICK FROM BOSTON

The guy inside was mean to my mom. She came home very upset because the man inside was rude using confrontational language such as "what makes you think" instead of calmly teaching my mom what she needed. GO TO CORONA INSTEAD!

Marc may seem grumpy in the beginning (he did to me the first couple of visits) but we actually thought it was more funny than rude. He does warm up to you after a couple of visits, however, his grumpiness never impacts the quality of the service or of the product. Even grumpy he provided great advice. His steaks are the best (I am from NYC and know a good steak) and when you order burgers he takes out a bright red, still bloody sirloin and grinds it into burgers right in front of you. And I've eaten that ground meat raw as tartare so I can vouch for freshness. Its become one of my main highlights for this weekend getaway from my NYC home. Thank you Marc! Stan

My favorite Butcher of all times. When my daughter was pregnant she craved his home made sausage and he made sure he saved 2 packs for us. Meat is impeccable never has anything that was not outstanding.

Great shop. Prime beef, cut to order, wild game, great cheese selection. Marc and his wife are knowledgeable, helpful and he knows his meats. He may be slightly "introverted" but he warms up. Ground beef is excellent.

My husband and I drove past this place a few times and I regret finally stopping to try it out. Bad customer service and pricey. We saw other people leaving the shop empty handed as we were coming in, that should of been the sign. There are several supermarkets within a few miles with good quality and way better pricing.

Dont think people posting know what a butcher is This is not a butcher shop Just a meat store a very expensive one, Same cuts you get at a regular supermarket at twice the price

The owner operator of this shoppe is nasty and rude. We have gone several times, spent a lot of money there and at this point I would never go back. Too bad the owner is so disrespectful to his paying customers.

This hideaway shop is fantastic, they have all kinds of exotic meats and sausages. I had the Elk bugers and Kangaroo Burgers.. Delicious.

We've been going to the Butcher Shoppe for 6 years or so now...it is FANTASTIC. We live in downtown Philadelphia, an literally come up here to stock up on meats...once we run out, we are vegetarian until we get a chance to come up again (conveniently we have a vacation home up here, so it doesn't get desperate). The quality is far above what I can get at home. Marc Zahra, the owner, is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, and will make recipe or preparation suggestions. Once I called for a pork loin for a recipe I had found in Bon Appetit--he knew which recipe I was talking about, and when I came in to pick up the meat he had added prosciutto, which the recipe had called for but I had overlooked. Deb his wife is friendly, calm, and always helpful as well. And if you fail to try the jalapeno hotdogs....well that is on you, because I told you so! They are fantastic.

If you haven't been to this butcher yet, go there now! He is without question the best. His meats and seafood are extremely good. I've never had a bad item from him yet. I've been going to the Butcher Shoppe since 2007 and I cannot recommend it enough! I get to the area about a half dozen times a year and I always make sure I stop at this butcher. Marc is incredibly knowledgeable and has some amazing recommendations for dish preparations. If you go in, don't forget to read the posted signs for what else he has (e.g. seasonings and bread, etc) in the back. I've never had to wait long when I walk in but if you are able, call ahead to place your order. He can and will do your order if you walk in but it will be faster for you to call in as you won't have to wait as he prepares your order. The shop is usually closed mondays and tuesdays but is open saturday and sunday.

Best London broil fresh cut. I had the best dinner no sauces needed to enjoy the magnificent delight.

I've been going there for the past 6 years and I never been disappointed. The steaks are quality, the chicken is fresh, crab cakes delicious. I could go on and on. The price may be a bit higher, but the quality is amazing.

Unbelievable butcher store tucked away off route 940. We tried several types and cuts of meat and fish, and they were all amazing. The owner is very knowledgeable and will help you decide how to cook each unique item on as varied selection of fresh items.
