Beautiful shopfront that doubles as a spacious, pet-friendly alfresco area. The lush, plant-filled decor evokes the chillax charm of Bali cafes and instantly sets a chill and homely vibe. We had made a reservation and were pleased to find our table ready upon arrival. There was ample space between tables, even with my pet’s stroller, which made our dining experience comfortable.
Service was unhurried and we were given time to browse the menu without feeling rushed. Complimentary iced water was served promptly, which was thoughtful given the warm weather. Drinks arrived soon after, and I thoroughly enjoyed my cocktail, which was a delightful blend of pandan and coconut.
The food took a little while to arrive, but the pacing allowed us to appreciate each dish individually. The wild snapper ceviche was fresh and springy, beautifully complemented by a tangy sauce that balanced the flavours and eliminated any trace of fishiness. The accompanying tapioca chips were a pleasant surprise, being thin, crisp, and perfectly fried.
For the wagyu picanha, we requested for medium doneness with a slightly more charred exterior. While our idea of charred differed slightly from the kitchen’s, the beef was nicely smoked and well-seared. The potato wedges served on the side were exceptional! Crisp on the outside, fluffy within, and perfectly seasoned. It’s been a long time since I’ve had wedges this satisfying.
The grilled octopus was tender and fresh, but the real star was the potato mash, with its creamy texture layered with complex flavours.
We were far too full for dessert, but I’ll definitely be back to try more. Highly recommendation for anyone looking for a relaxed, pet-friendly dining spot.
