"The Butter House is an old-school diner, both in terms of decor and menu, serving breakfast and brunch classics, along with Filipino specialties. On the menu, you’ll find the standard eggs, pancakes, waffles, etc., but we recommend the loco moco or the Filipino Breakfast, which comes with golden pan-fried spam and garlicky longaniza. Enjoy your meal with a glass of sweet, refreshing P.O.G. (passionfruit, orange, and guava juices)." - allison green, gabi moskowitz

Few places offer chicken and waffles, even fewer offer chicken and waffles as perfect as these ones. Waffle was perfectly cooked, soft on the inside slight crunch on the outside. Chicken was well seasoned, crispy, and delicious. Add the country gravy for an added level of flavor that takes you to a whole new world of flavor. If that's not enough to get you in the door, the pancakes were equally light, fluffy, and delicious. Service was great. Can't wait to go back!

Really delicious food with awesome Hawaiian and Filipino touches! If that’s not your thing, they have traditional American fare too. Great food and super friendly service. The wait can be long so prepare for that but it’s definitely worth it. They also easily separate checks which is one of their better qualities when dining with larger groups. I always tip extra because of that!

My friend and I went for brunch on a quiet Monday, and we were excited to try the Filipino flavors we saw online and the good Yelp reviews. The diner had plenty of seating, and their specials were listed at the front. I ordered the adobo fried rice, and my friend got a veggie omelet. Honestly, the food was just okay. The fried rice was not as flavorful as I expected. It had crispy pork belly, rice, and eggs, but nothing special. The lumpia we ordered was pretty good, though—nice and crispy. The service was excellent and the staff was very friendly and attentive. Overall, while the food didn’t impress me much, the great service and tasty lumpia made the visit pleasant. I’m not sure if I’d come back, but it’s worth trying at least once

Awesome food and good portion sizes, definitely a seaside gem. The entrees came out quick and as advertised. The fried chicken was tender and seasoned well with the giant waffles. The gravy on the chicken fried steak was creamy and blended well with everything. The filipino breakfasts were bomb just and should be the first thing you order here. Sadly the wait and where we were seated after 45mins was upsetting after we had seen 5 families leave the restaurant and find about 8 tables free that would seat 1 - 4 ppl. Our servers missed us a few times and that was a wrap...id come back during off hours.

This is one of the best breakfasts I've had in awhile!!!! You can get on the wait list on yelp. It's packed (for good reason) so I recommend utilizing that service. All I can say is try the lumpia!!!! I got the marianas fried rice and the lemon curd with blueberry waffle. I also got to try the carne asada fried rice which was equally amazing. The wait staff is so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They are also very attentive. They knew I needed ice tea before I did. Keep this restaurant in business as I want to keep visiting every time I'm down here!

Waited an hour for seating, 30min for food because this spot had good reviews. This is the $17 “omelette” they served me… a well-done egg taco with a haphazard slap of overcooked bacon. I brought it up to the manager who was disinterested enough to walk away mid conversation. Don’t make the mistake I did; try somewhere else.

Staff with personality, food made with care, and perhaps an irritable waitlist, but it’s well worth it. Sure, there is a bit of a wait for your server when eating, but guess what? That’s what happens when you get 3-4 tables at the same time, welcome to food service. Aside from the small observation, food was amazing. The California eggs benedict and country potatoes were well-seasoned with good-quality eggs. Lumpia and pork fried rice tasted just right, a Filipino trademark you should not downplay. Plus, $6.50 mimosa? Not even the “glitzy” and “chic” brunch places of the bay can top the quality of this cozy spot.

The staff were all very friendly. The food was good. It had a diner feel. We arrive before 10am and there wasn’t a line. Once we left, there was a wait.
