The 23 Best Restaurants In Monterey - Monterey - The Infatuation

"The Butter House is an old-school diner, both in terms of decor and menu, serving breakfast and brunch classics, along with Filipino specialties. On the menu, you’ll find the standard eggs, pancakes, waffles, etc., but we recommend the loco moco or the Filipino Breakfast, which comes with golden pan-fried spam and garlicky longaniza. Enjoy your meal with a glass of sweet, refreshing P.O.G. (passionfruit, orange, and guava juices)." - allison green, gabi moskowitz

Came here on a Saturday for brunch. Was able to get seated right away. Brian seated us at the table in the corner, which coincidentally was my preference. We had one main server but different people came to bring the food over. This place offered a large selection of Filipino dishes - not your typical breakfast items. My son tried the Babbs sandwich and was pleased with it. I was actually surprised he liked it because he isn't as adventurous with food as we are. The orange juice tasted fresh-squeezed. Tasty! Will come again before our vacation is over.

Today I gave it a try to this fancy looking Breakfast restaurant!! Hostess welcome my family and I very polite 😊. We were seated by the window ( love to be seated by the window). Our server was very attentive, polite, she recommended the Blueberry and lemon custard pancakes ( I'm not fan of lemon) I didn't liked them. But my husband loved them. We ordered an omelet called Colorado, It was Huge!! And yummy, with Country potatoes that were very tasty. My family and I really enjoyed their breakfast. I ordered scrambled eggs with tomatoes and Love the bacon 🥓 😋. The strawberry jam for the toast is home made 😋! I would never order Blueberries/ lemon pancakes 🥞 because I don't like the lemon custard. That's just me. I'm sure lemon lovers will definitely Enjoy them. I'll highly recommend this place 👌 👍

Amazing food and service! Very attentive serving staff who treat you like family! Join the Yelp wait list prior to arrival for quicker seating. We visit this restaurant every time we are in town visiting. Highly recommended!

Google
I highly recommend this place. Be early to avoid line. They offer a vast menu that includes typical American diner items mixed with Filipino favorites. I had the lemon curd and blueberry pancakes and the lumpia. The blueberry pancakes were well prepared. The lumpia were crispy and had a flavorful filling. I also got a fresh pressed orange juice and pot of tea.

I am usually the type to hate going out for breakfast, the wait times are long, food usually doesn't come out right or good, service is usually horrible so you wait an hour for your food, and you pay $20 for something you could've made at home better for $1-2. But not this place! I can happily say this is probably the best place I have ever been for breakfast. We put in our names online to wait for a table and it was ready on time, down to the very minute. Our server was polite and attentive. From the time we ordered our food, it took less than 10 minutes to arrive. That's what I expect from a breakfast place, I can't stand places that take 25 minutes to serve me a plate of eggs, bacon, and pancakes, I think its such a waste of time. Our food arrived hot and fresh. I ordered the pork belly with over easy eggs, and fried rice. Everything was cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly, and delicious. I seriously couldn't believe how good it all tasted together and my girlfriend had the same sentiment. She ordered the French toast made with banana bread, I usually dont like banana bread but this creative twist was actually very good. We both thought it was a little too sweet but that could just be personal preference, also I think that was kind of expected. Regardless, this restaurant is a must. If you're in the area or even remotely close and in need of a good breakfast, I would go out of my way to go here every time. I will eagerly return in the future for more and recommend this place to anybody.

Google
The Butter House was awesome!!!! Great food!! Good service!! Fair warning it can get packed in there, but don't worry, you should get seated pretty quickly and still get serviced quickly and consistently... I had the super delicious Hawaiian rice bowl, (i know that's not the proper name. See pic!) that I highly recommend!! Everyone's food looked & tasted excellent!!! Also their lumpia is amazing! I give this place & it's vibe 2 thumbs up 👍🏼😋👍🏼

Google
This is a fantastic spot for breakfast! We ordered the Filipino breakfast, the chorizo dish, and a giant cinnamon roll, and every item was delicious. Beyond the wonderful food, the service was truly amazing. The staff remained incredibly attentive throughout our entire meal, no matter how busy the restaurant got. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend this place.

Google
We loved this experience! It was quick, it was delicious, our server did a fantastic job and everyone was very friendly. We had the Breakfast fried rice and I swear, my egg was cooked to perfection 👌👌 when a medium cooked egg is actually medium cooked…delicious! My husband got the California omelet and said it was fantastic and the pico was perfect!

Yelp
Great service, food comes out quickly. Haven't ordered something that wasn't delicious.

Yelp
I had an amazing experience at the butter house. The service was super friendly and the food was delicious! Definitely recommend trying the breakfast sandwich's. Perfect place to go to in the morning!

Yelp
On a 2 week roadtrip up and down the CA coast, spent a couple nights in Monterey and The Butter House was the best breakfast I had! Quick service, friendly staff, good coffee, and decent prices. Definitely recommend it!!!

Yelp
Incredible Food, Vibe & Service! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was just right--friendly, welcoming, and full of great energy. There's a convenient barcode at the front door to join the waitlist, but we opted to sit at the bar instead. We spotted the bartender pouring a gorgeous purple drink and had to ask about it--turns out it was the lavender lemonade, and it's officially my new favorite! My friends and I decided to step out of our comfort zones and share a few dishes. The carne asada fried rice was flavorful and unique, and the shrimp and grits--wow! I've had shrimp and grits many times, but never quite like this. Absolutely delicious. The food came out surprisingly fast, and everything we tried was a hit. If you're thinking about visiting, don't hesitate--just go. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
The service was top notch. Food was great for everyone, and it was well worth the wait. I was here a year ago and last year the experience was great as well. Keep it up!

Yelp
The Butter House is a good place for breakfast. It was pretty busy inside at 9am and almost all the tables were taken, but luckily we were able to snag a table in the corner. Based on what I got (One Eyed Jack which consists of a piece of toast with an egg in the middle and fruit on the side), I would give a rating of 3 stars, but will add an extra star for service. When my order first came out, I noticed that there was a very tiny dot of green on the edge of the toast. I was going to eat it as it is, but I decided to flip the toast around to inspect it and my heart sank when I saw that there was a streak of green on the fried egg and toast. I was scared because I was worried that it was mold. I googled it later and it could possibly be a chemical reaction from the egg of some sort, but it looked very unappetizing. Upon flipping the toast, the egg yolk broke and runny egg spilled onto the plate, which shouldn't happen because I asked for the egg to be hard and cooked all the way. Our server was nice and quick to take action. He apologized for the dish and took it away to be remade. The second toast that came out was fine and the egg was cooked to the way I requested. The other dishes that my family ordered looked delicious and they enjoyed it. All the workers were wearing a Friends themed shirt that says Lumpias, and I thought it was cute.

Yelp
Came here 2x in one day l. 1st for breakfast and 2nd for late lunch. In fairness l, our server was nice and attentive. She remembered us when we came back the 2nd time. Updating to 4 stars - reason: the pork belly fried rice was too salty. Still giving 4 stars as we were still happy with the rest of our meal especially the mango french toast as recommended by our server. Hope they can adjust the taste pf the pork belly fried rice for the future. The lumpia isn't the typical filipino lumpia that's in my mind. Better to join the waitlist on Yelp!

Yelp
Came here twice during 2025's summer solstice Friday. First for breakfast then for lunch. Used Yelp's Waitlist option twice and didn't have to wait for a table. We've been here before and that experience was a factor for us to return. This time around, the meals were different. The Pork Belly Fried Rice was too salty and the Fried Chicken Waffles was average. We returned to meet up with friends for a late lunch and had the Mango French Toast and TBH Burger. Both lacked flavor. The burger was bland and dry. Service was attentive even if the joint was busy.

Yelp
Stopped here for brunch with my brothers while we were in the area, and it's a good thing we joined their online waitlist! They are packed even early in the morning, and for obvious reasons after we tried their food. - carne asade fried rice: 8/10 the rice is so yummy but the meat leaned more on the salty side, HOWEVER, take note that we just don't eat a lot of salt so it's NOT the restaurants fault! I'm sure it was perfectly seasoned! Overall very delish and would order again! - lumpia: 10/10 no notes, would order again. So delicious and amazingly crunchy - breakfast sando: 8/10 I picked the sausage option, not bad. I wish I ordered something else because I love the fusion options, I just got super hungry and wanted to order something quick. - pork belly fried rice: 10/10 so good, the garlic fried rice was amazing and absolutely addictive! My brothers and I agreed that this was a great dish and we would come back to order this again. - biscuit with hot honey; okay THIS was undoubtedly the BEST item of the meal. Undocumented because we all scarfed it down quickly - SO GOOD, flaky and buttery, sweet and spicy perfection. Hats off to whoever added that to the menu and to the chef! You guys know what you're doing, keep doing it. Service was amazing, 1000/10. Very family friendly breakfast spot, must come here if you have the chance!

Yelp
We sat at 1:40 pm, they close at 2pm. Service was terrible, the waiter had a really nasty attitude, and gave us very ugly treatment. I would have respected and appreciated so much more if they would have told us, "hi guys we close at 2 and unfortunately we won't be able to serve you" , other than to receive this treatment on Mother's Day. So maybe for the future they can do things differently for others. Service was just horrible. no drink refill, no water refill, no one check in on us after our food arrived or see if we needed anything (like napkins or a refill to our small cups of water) Our waiter look like she was in not in the mood, not welcoming to us at all. we did see her smile and cater to other tables. It was 4 adults 1 kid and one baby and we were charged tip automatically when our bill came, maybe her way to insure tip since she knew she didn't provide any service at all other than taking our order And to be honest if they would not have done that I probably only would have left 3-5$ due to such poor service and attitude given. French toast was very good . Carne asada fried rice was small but very tasty. Burger was huge and fries delicious. We also tried 2 of their ground beef lumpias first time they were good too! Food isn't bad, but with such poor service it ruins the whole experience, I would definitely not want to come here again. Also to add bathroom were very dirty from pee in the floor .

Yelp
Holy shit this place is amazing! All the food was so good. I had the carne asada fried rice and I was blown away. The fried rice has such a rich delicious flavor. I'm guessing what made the rice so good is that they probably toss it in butter as their name and slogan might suggest. "Everyone loves butter!" The green sauce that comes with this dish was really good too whatever it was. I tried some of my friend's pork belly fried rice and the fried pork belly was perfect. So crispy on the outside and soft and tender inside with a blast of flavor. The lumpia and the dips provided with them were amazing.
google avatar

Andrea F.

Yelp
The pork belly itself was so so flavorful and truly melted in your mouth all while being crispy. It is a decent portion and I am glad that it wasn't dry at all. The eggs benedict is a bit interesting with the turkey twist. The lumpia is also decently sized and very well balanced of pork and veggie. There can be a bit of a wait but you can check in on your phone through Yelp!

Yelp
We went to this place Lumpia's or "The Butter House" for breakfast, as we were in Monterey for a wedding. First note the place is busy and there is a wait most of the time. The places is happening place. The ambiance can be a little loud but it was very enjoyable. We orders the lemon & blueberry pancakes as well as Pork Belly and friend rice, with two eggs. We also order to freshly made lumpia's. The food was amazing. We will definitely come back again

Yelp
I love this place!! One of my favorite breakfast eats!! Good food, good portions; good people

Yelp
We tried The Butter House for a late breakfast. The wait was a little long so I would suggest placing your name in remotely so the wait is not as long. The food was great! We had the lemon curd and blueberry pancakes and they were to die for! As soon as I took my first bite I said "these are YELP worthy". Delicious! We also had the Pork-belly fried rice and Lumpia. I give this Seaside location 5 stars.

Yelp
We were visiting the area and wanted a good breakfast. I love a restaurant that serves hearty breakfasts and not just brunch on weekends. This seemed to fit the bill. The inside was spacious and inviting. We sat at a table towards the back. I couldn't decide on savory or sweet. So I went with a single lemon ricotta pancake with all the fixings and a side of eggs and bacon. The lemon ricotta pancake was fluffy and sweet. Not bad. I liked that they included the blueberries inside the pancake and not just on top. My husband got the Mexican omelet. We're definitely fans of the food. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because the waitress was a little short with us. She seemed to be attentive and patient with other tables, but not with us for some reason. We had to flag her down for a coffee refill.
google avatar

Paloma B.

Yelp
Breakfast here is above and beyond. Service is wonderful (staff is so warm and friendly). For a Thursday it was packed but we only waited 10 minutes for a booth. 5 stars!!! Everything we needed for an adventurous day in Monterey
google avatar

Ellen K.

Yelp
How do they have such good reviews? BIG LET DOWN. - Bloody Mary 4.4/5 Yummy tomato juice, not enough alcohol, fresh tasting - Lumpia 1.4/5 Tastes like a vegetable egg roll - Fried Chicken and Waffle 1.6/5 They said it's "Award Winning Chicken."..... no, it's not. The chicken is SO SO dry. DRY! - Pork Belly with fried rice 1.9/5 The pork belly is seasoned well but it's SO FATTY. The fried rice is almost steamed with overcooked unflavored rice. Free parking in lot
google avatar

Yelp
Came here for brunch on the way to Monterey, and was not disappointed by the hearty portions and excellent service! Butter House offers a wide selection of breakfast items, many of which have a Filipino twist. We got the pork belly fried rice along with the chicken and waffles -- the pork belly was unbelievably tender, while the chicken was perfectly juicy. One of the better chicken and waffles I've had! If you're coming on a weekend, make sure to get on the Yelp waitlist early!
google avatar

Jasmine O.

Yelp
The food was amazing! Came in early on a Tuesday and we got sat right away, there was no wait. The host was nice and so were the rest of the servers. We started off with a couple of lumpia's. We were really excited to see them on the menu and when they were brought out as appetizers, we dug in right away. Great taste and crunch to them! I ordered the fried chicken and waffles. The chicken was great! It had such a great breaded texture as well as a delicious taste. The waffle batter was yummy as well. My friend ordered the pork belly fried rice which she absolutely fell in love with. She said that she hadn't had one that good since she was last in Hawaii. Overall, service and food was great so I will definitely be back to try something else.
google avatar

Yelp
Would visit again! Everything was delicious, service was great and for a party of seven we got seated in less than ten minutes. The estimated wait time was 10-15. I had the pleasure of being seated by the owner, Benny who told me they opened in 2019 and I noticed one of the servers looked like they could be related to him and sure enough it was his aunt! We love supporting small businesses. Our group ordered the Pork Belly Fried Rice (Highly recommend! The pork belly was tender and marinated to perfection. It had amazing crisp as well), chicken & waffles with S.O.S. Gravy (delicious), Ono Loco Moco subbed for the S.O.S. Gravy, French toast, Colorado Omelette and rice + eggs. Everyone enjoyed their dishes and we also enjoyed their Guatemalan coffee which tasted better than the coffee we had at a cafe in Pacifica yesterday. I do want to mention that we have never seen S.O.S. Gravy offered on a menu which is part of the reason we chose to come here. My fiancé's grandfather was in the Navy and they used to take the scrap pieces of meat to make the gravy. I wish them continued success in the future as they are going six years strong. We're not from here and part of our group is visiting from New Jersey but we're looking forward to coming back!

Yelp
Seaside is a town most including us, pass by for years on the way to and from Monterey and Carmel. The Butter House got me to not only finally stop at Seaside but got me to order something out that I never thought I would. French Toast is so easy that it's something I've been making since middle school, but with the promise of it made with chocolate banana bread, I could not resist. Luckily, I was able to do a 1/2 portion of it and the lemon curd blueberry pancakes since I couldn't decide and paired with the savory Marciano's butter fried rice with spam, it was the perfect combo of sweet and savory. Who said you can't have it all, including lumpia for breakfast. Came back 3 months later and got a full order of that Chocolate Banana Bread French Toast, it was that good. The savory this time was the Tri-Tip Chimichurri Breakfast Sandwich with an over medium egg, mixed greens, and cheddar on sourdough. Good, but I still prefer the Marciano's butter fried rice for my savory.
google avatar

Natalie Y.

Yelp
This is a lovely spot for some American Filipino styled breakfast!! we of course ordered lumpia and also shared a pork belly fried rice and lemon curd + blueberry pancake. love a good sweet and savory combo! the lumpia was really delicious! very crispy and flavorful.. should've gotten more but needed to save room for our two breakfast entrees ;) the pork belly fried rice was great! i liked the bell peppers mixed in with the rice~ i was afraid the meal would be a bit too heavy but surprisingly it wasn't! for our sweet breakfast, the pancake was delightful! the lemon flavor added bright notes and balanced out the savoriness of the other foods. it was also really big lol service was good and our waiter was attentive! Would come back here if I'm ever in the area

Yelp
We had a good time eating breakfast at The Butter House. The wait wasn't too long, maybe about 5-10 minutes, since we arrived around 9:30. The cakes at the front counter looked AMAZING but we didn't get any. We ordered: Filipino breakfast with fried rice, eggs, spam, and longganisa, and chocolate banana bread French toast, and a blueberry mimosa. They have quite a variety of mimosa flavors and a special one of the day, which was the blueberry one. All the food was really good, especially the chocolate French toast. I've never had a chocolate version before and it was quite dense and indulgent. I can definitely see why the wait can get really long.

Yelp
Parking: lots of parking, very packed. Get on the waitlist before you go Service: Overall pretty good and fast. Someone would constantly fill our drinks. It was a cute restaurant full of people of color and culture so i had high hopes Food: Honestly? We were so stoked to try this place. You pull up and theres a long line, Aunties, Tias and Tios filled the restaurant, but when we tried our food we were disappointed. Maybe we got the chef on a bad day? Our food was bland and all the flavor came from the meat..My eggs were kind of hard to eat. My partners spam was raw but just blue rare. The coffee was really good and so was the fresh jam! We think it may have been an off day. We plan to come back when we are in town to give it another shot
google avatar

Yelp
We went early Sunday morning before 8am, as we heard it can get crowded in the later morning. The staff was very friendly and lively, despite it being so early in the morning. The spot is decorated like a traditional American diner, though they also serve Filipino style breakfast. The lumpia was fresh and crunchy, a perfect side to our meal. We also had the pork belly fried rice, which came with a huge slab of pork belly. The lemon blueberries pancakes were also great, the tartness balanced out the sweetness well.
google avatar

Marie G.

Yelp
Great way to start your day! Minus the wait, we enjoyed the wide selection of food. We ordered the lumpia (yum!), lemon blueberry pancakes (20/10), pork belly fried rice (was okay), and the kids ordered the one eyed jacked and the one, one & one. The best part is that The Butter House is truly a family friendly restaurant and perfect for toddlers.
google avatar

Jenny H.

Yelp
Lots of variety on the menu. There were 8 of us, and we all had such a hard time deciding that we agreed we will go back tomorrow so we can try other dishes. Some of us got lunch (Rueben, club sandwich, TBH burger, BLT) and some of us got breakfast (French toast, loco moco) and everyone really enjoyed their food. The service was also great. The place was packed at 11:15 am on a Tuesday, so it is clearly a popular eatery!

Yelp
Was greeted promptly and asked my preference for seating as I was solo. The food came out very quick and was delicious. I had the lemon curd, blueberry pancake and eggs and bacon. Waiter was nice and helpful. Spacious casual restaurant that I would return to when in the area.

Yelp
My wife and I were looking for a great local spot for bfast, during our stay in Monterey. The Butter House is that place! I had a hankering for pork belly for about a month and this place delivered on my hankering. Delicious to the last bite. Service was very attentive and refilling my coffee asap. The place is super clean all the way to the restroom. Ambiance was family and community friendly, felt like I was part of the community. This place is highly recommended. Thank you guys for making my Saturday in Monterey get off to a great start.

Yelp
Came here on a Monday for lunch. It was right before New Years so it was packed. Be sure to get on the waiting list. Parking- the gps routed us into a smaller parking lot. When we hit the end and made a left, we saw the restaurant and huge parking lot. Not too many handicap spots. Service- although we were on the waiting list for a bit, once we sat down, our server was fast and efficient. The food came out quick. Food- we can see why this place is so popular. -Southern Breakfast (on the Specials whiteboard) the fried chicken was superb. It was crispy and delicious. The gravy on the biscuits was just right, not too salty. My eggs were done exactly as ordered which was over-easy. -Chicken Fried Steak: it was wonderfully slathered with gravy. Had the country style potatoes which was typical. -Carne Asada Fried Rice: it's got both that Filipino fried rice flavor mixed with Carne Asada meat. Best of both worlds. - Cinnamon "roll" waffle (on the Specials whiteboard) this one, you have to be a cinnamon lover. The waffle sits on a bed of whipped cinnamon butter with whipped cream on top. It's not so much the "drippy, saucy pecan" type of cinnamon roll. Can't be lactose intolerant on this one. Return Factor- YES! there are many other dishes. I wanna come back to try the pork belly fried rice and try their hash browns.

Yelp
We wanted to try something new for breakfast and this place was recommended. Lots of parking. The inside is pretty open. On a Monday for a late breakfast it was pretty packed but we got a table within 5min. We ordered the pork belly fried rice, biscuits n gravy and a stack of pancakes. Pork Belly Fried Rice - Served with two eggs atop and the pork belly off to the side this was a decent dish. The fried rice was aight. I wish it had more flavor or a saltyness to it. However it was rather more simple and plain. The pork belly was cooked well. Served with a house hot sauce like a sambal I believe. Biscuits n Gravy - Average. Nothing new here. Nothing done wrong. Just your average biscuits n white gravy. They serve it with country potatoes or potato cakes. The cakes are fried well. Pancakes - Below average but not horrible. The cakes are big. The butter is normal butter. The texture of the pancakes is almost too dense. After a couple of bites in it becomes a task. There is nothing wrong with but also nothing great with Butter House. The staff was friendly and attentive. Would I be back? I'd try something new or the go to First Awakenings. Was it bad. No. But its a solid average breakfast spot.

Yelp
It's time... Its Rhyme time! For the most important meal of the day I love to eat with my kids and my spouse, So while visiting California's Central Coast We decided to check out The Butter House. Thank God for my wife's quick thinking And for getting us on the long waiting list, Pancakes, Omelettes, Fried Rice & Loco Moco Are just a few of the breakfast items with a twist. Serving up your favorite American Classics With a side of Filipino/Pacific Islander flare, So many specialty items you will want to try Praying the person next to you is willing to share. Thankfully, I have three very young children Who can never seem to finish their plate, I am going on a limb for this next statement But I'm guessing that's why I am gaining weight ;) Eating their left over scrambled eggs & bacon Polishing off what was left of their French toast, My wife's Lemon Curd & Blueberry pancakes Was the unfinished item that I loved the most. So who is gonna bet on exactly what I ordered If you guess correctly I will pay you in cash, Hint, Hint it'll rhyme with your winnings You better hope you picked corned beef hash. A hearty breakfast to start your morning off right But only if you order the star of the show, I take mine with 4 creamers and 2 sugars Don't you dare forget my hot cup of Joe. Located in the small town of Seaside, California The Butter House is an eatery not to be missed, But heed to my advice of making a reservation And getting yourself on that long waiting list. So... What you gonna get???

Tou L.

Yelp
A great tasting place. Ate there twice during our visit to pebble beach'! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Based on eating two different Benedict's. We love finding a good Benedict but the crab cake special and the veg out Benedict on menu were far from that. One started getting greasy half way through and the other didn't quite work in terms of balance of flavors. The oily one could be forgiven if it was properly cut with some kind of acid, but it our family eats a lot of Whole Foods now and are sensitive to oil as well.

Yelp
Looked up a place for some good eats and the Butter house popped up. Here for a work conference and I suggested to come eat here. Everyone enjoyed the meal and the customer service. We were well received and no real wait time. We had a pretty decent size group, 7 of us. I guess it was perfect timing because they had a table that gave us enough room to spread out and enjoy. The shrimp and grits were tasty and I'm glad I could get sides of sausage and egg whites. I would eat here again.

Yelp
Good decent food, the wait was long and the space where we ate was narrow. The food was decent and it came out fast.

Yelp
This place came highly recommended, so I definitely wanted to check it out during our trip. The wait can get long, so we joined the waitlist online as we were on our way and only ended up waiting about 10-15 minutes there. We started with some mimosas, which were great and had lots of champagne! I orded a breakfast burrito with steak at the recommendation of our server, and it was delicious! The salsa on the side was a great addition. My boyfriend ordered the Loco Moco and liked it a lot. We also ordered some lumpia to try since Butter House specializes in Filipino breakfasts, and they were fantastic! Crunchy outside, full of delicious stuff on the inside, and both of the dipping sauces were so yummy. This was a great stop on our trip!

Yelp
Had an amazing experience here! They are a very busy restaurant and I can see why. We sat at the bar so we could sit fast. Brad was the bartender/our server and he was amazing. He had drink orders coming in like crazy! He took our order and was pleasant the entire time! The food was so good and came hot. It was delicious!! This is a cute family place and was very clean. Fun place to be Recommend 10/10 and will be back!!

Yelp
Butter House in Seaside is a gem with a fun, creative menu that leans heavily into Filipino flavors which stood out to me as a fellow filaaaa!!! It was packed, so definitely make a reservation ahead of time. We didn't, but luckily the bartender was super friendly and got us two seats at the bar, first come first serve. The standout for me was 100% the lavender lemonade it was seriously one of the best drinks! I saw a lot of people ordering it so I assume it must be popular for them. Super refreshing and sweet with a really nice floral twist. I'd go back just for that fr we ordered the bbq tri tip burger and carne asada fried rice. the burger was juicy, flavorful, and the ingredients blended beautifully together! A classic but elevated. The carne asada fried rice was another winner! savory, satisfying, and full of familiar flavors, a nice nod to Filipino comfort food. However, if you didn't grow up with eating this Im not sure it would hit the same, I definitely preferred the burger over the fried rice. You can definitely see the influence throughout the menu items like longganisa, tocino, and ube pop up in a lot of dishes, which gives Butter House a really unique vibe as you don't typically see Filipino foods being incorporated into restaurants like these. We didn't get to try the lumpia but I noticed it was at the top of the menu so I suggest trying!! Overall, it's a lively, flavorful experience with a great staff. Just be prepared for a crowd, and maybe plan ahead with a reservation! it's worth it.

Yelp
Another trip to the Butter House today, and I have to say they are so consistent with clean tables, great, efficient, and friendly service. Hardly a phone out, hardly anybody taking selfies, mostly locals, many smiles ! I ordered the Grubber Omelet while my wife ordered the TBH Breakfast Sandwich. Mine was a generous portion (it's nearly 1.00pm and I am still full) and very tasty, BUT my wife without a doubt won the prize for 'best dish ordered'. Nothing wrong with mine, but nothing spectacular either; however, the TBH with Aoli was off the charts, mic-dropping, finger-licking, sinfully stretching goodness! I don't think you can go wrong here; just be prepared to see dishes march in, knowing you will be back to order on your return ! Heartily recommended.

Yelp
This place was SO DAMN GOOD! I am nearly a week past my birthday trip to Moneterrey and I am still DREAMING of all of the delicious food I consumed at The Butter House! What started as a joke--we passed by in the car en route to the beach and my boyfriend goes "hey babe, lets go there you love butter!"--ended up as our breakfast stop the next day when we read all of the incredible reviews. The wait is long, but you can put your name in ahead of time and kill some time at the pinball bar in the plaza (seriously, $10/hour all you can play, do it!) and the wait IS seriously worth it. It was so good that I ended up going back again later in the week! The first time we got the lumpia to start, and I highly suggest you get these as you can tell they're a love story to the owner's heritage and made with so much love. Not to mention they're fantastic! My boyfriend got the chicken and waffles and it felt slightly bland until we added some hot sauce, which made it perfect. We also shared shrimp and grits as well as the pumpkin bread french toast. It was the perfect blend of sweet, savory, and enough leftovers for lunch later! The only reason it loses a star is our second visit--service was sadly inattentive. To be fair, it was a Sunday and incredible busy: I put our name in the virtual line at 10am, aiming to get there for 12 which was when we did get seated. Our party got sat in the bar instead of at a table, which seems like it's typically counter service because the bartender who took our order was too busy to give us much attention. We would have ordered at least two more rounds of drinks had we been checked on. The wait for food was also nearly an hour, and everything came out at once when we thought the lumpia would be an appetizer. A friend's order was wrong, and the waiter had picked it back up to change it and she cried out and said it was fine because she was so hungry at this point. So, this place is ABSOLUTELY worth it and I hope to come back someday and update it to the true five star :)

Yelp
I'm honestly so happy that I found this place! I don't normally care too much for breakfast places as it's usually just generic breakfast items but this place makes my Asian taste buds happy lol both of my parents can be picky with food outside of their culture but this place gives them something similar to home while still being able to go out, especially for breakfast! The food here is all amazing, so fresh and flavorful! The lumpia, omg I'm craving it while typing this! I could eat just that and be so happy. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and there's plenty of seating inside. I will definitely come back when I'm in town again and I'll be sure to recommend this place to my friends!

Yelp
Joined the waitlist when we were driving there. Only waited 5 minutes once we checked in. Lots of things on the menu I wanted to try. Ended up trying the pancakes with eggs and sausage. Everything was good. Might get the loco mono next time. Will be back and bring out of towners here in the future.

Yelp
Busy and popular place in Seaside, CA. This rivals my favorite breakfast place down the street, but it's good to have options. Food is deelish, and there are a lot of servers, so things came out quickly. With the popularity of this place, you need fast service and be able to turn over tables quickly. This is a great place if you're looking for breakfast in Monterey, but make sure you time it well, or else, you will be waiting.

Yelp
Delicious food with fast service. Came on a Friday morning and we were sat down right away. We ordered and the food was out in less than 10 minutes. The menu has a variety of items so there is something for everyone. 10/10

Yelp
The fresh facelift to an old time diner vibe was great. Place was super cute, clean and service was amazing. all hands to help with coffee and water and service was friendly. Our meals were huge and fresh. Had to try to pork belly fried rice with eggs. Huge pork belly fried to perfection with crispy skin!! Loco moco with country gravy was a full bowl!! A twist on a classic. Well done. Omelets were huge portions and everyone had left overs to take home. We did have the lumpia. It was freshly made and came to the table hot!! Definitely will be back. The Filipino family vibe is awesome and the food at the tables around us all looked amazing too!!
