I got the ribeye stand eggs. it was cooked perfectly but it just lacked flavor for me taste. I have ordered the all meat scrambled my previous visit and that wad a 10 out of 10. I will definitely be returning and trying something different. my daughter ordered the French toast and that was very delicious.

When I told my family we were going to a Filipino breakfast restaurant they were skeptical. They were craving home cooking style breakfast and weren’t sure this would deliver. Boy did it! We ordered lumpia to start, which seems like more of a lunch/dinner item but man did it hit the spot. My wife had lemon curd pancakes and they were light, fluffy, and packed with flavor! I had chicken and waffles which were fantastic. The chicken was juicy and tender and the waffle was the perfect balance. The true star was my son’s pork belly fried rice. I wish I had ordered that even though my food was already outrageously good. I also want to shout out the service. It was fairly busy but the server was knowledgeable, helpful, kind and food came out quickly. It’s a big place but they have plenty of staff. Great way to start our day!

ive been here twice and both times the service was great but the food was just okay. the first time I had there sausage gravy over potatoes and biscuits kinda like a qausi biscuit and gravy. it was just okay, you couldn't find the sausage in the gravy if ur life depended on it. Also on a separate visit i had one of there burritos again it was nothing amazing. the people are great the wait is never really insane I guess but the food so far has just been ehh.

This place is soo hood I had to come 2 mornings in a row during my vacation. Highly recommend the chocolate banana bread french toast and biscuits and gravy! The also offer a variety of mimosas and breakfast cocktails.

Today I gave it a try to this fancy looking Breakfast restaurant!! Hostess welcome my family and I very polite 😊. We were seated by the window ( love to be seated by the window). Our server was very attentive, polite, she recommended the Blueberry and lemon custard pancakes ( I'm not fan of lemon) I didn't liked them. But my husband loved them. We ordered an omelet called Colorado, It was Huge!! And yummy, with Country potatoes that were very tasty. My family and I really enjoyed their breakfast. I ordered scrambled eggs with tomatoes and Love the bacon 🥓 😋. The strawberry jam for the toast is home made 😋! I would never order Blueberries/ lemon pancakes 🥞 because I don't like the lemon custard. That's just me. I'm sure lemon lovers will definitely Enjoy them. I'll highly recommend this place 👌 👍

Came here on a Saturday for brunch. Was able to get seated right away. Brian seated us at the table in the corner, which coincidentally was my preference. We had one main server but different people came to bring the food over. This place offered a large selection of Filipino dishes - not your typical breakfast items. My son tried the Babbs sandwich and was pleased with it. I was actually surprised he liked it because he isn't as adventurous with food as we are. The orange juice tasted fresh-squeezed. Tasty! Will come again before our vacation is over.

First time here and absolutely loved it! Heard amazing reviews about Butter House in Seaside and now I see why. The staff was warm and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. We ordered the lumpias (perfectly crispy with adobo & sweet chili sauces), corned beef (swapped rice for potatoes – delicious), the French dip (savory and satisfying), plus a guava mimosa and P.O.G Thai to sip on — everything was flavorful and fresh. Highly recommend if you’re in the area. I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

I’ve been here a few times since relocating back to Pacific Grove. I love this place. The food is great and the staff are incredibly friendly. I especially enjoy the sandwiches and the biscuits with SOS gravy.

I definitely recommend getting your breakfast at The Butter House. Despite being fully occupied with customers, our food was ready in 10 minutes. Both of the fried rice were balanced in flavor! The carne asada was full of flavor, and the sauce on the side added to the whole dish. I left the restaurant fed and satisfied. It was a good meal to start our day.

The Butter House is absolutely one of the best breakfast and brunch experiences in the greater Monterey area! While technically in Seaside, it's worth the short drive from Monterey proper for truly exceptional food and service. From the moment we walked in, the experience was five-star. The service was incredibly friendly, prompt, and attentive--even when the place was packed (which it usually is!). Our server was great about offering recommendations and kept our coffee cups filled without us ever having to flag them down. Good service is so crucial, and The Butter House truly nails it. Equally impressive is the menu selection. They offer a fantastic blend of American breakfast classics and unique Filipino-inspired dishes, giving you so many delicious options! Whether you're craving traditional eggs benedict, a hearty breakfast burrito, or something more adventurous like the Pork Belly Fried Rice or their amazing Lumpia, there is something to satisfy every craving. I recommend making a reservation / signing up for the waitlist on Yelp. We were 5 mins away and I was able to add us on there, so we were able to skip the wait; however there was a small issue with check in. When we walked in, I received a text that we were next in line and to check in with the host, so I did. We were waiting for a few minutes thinking that they were preparing our table, but the host called another group that showed up after us to get seated, so I checked in with the host again and he asked for my name again. I was a bit frustrated that I just told him my name, and a few minutes later he would've forgotten had I not checked in with him a second time. The restaurant was busy on a Saturday morning and there was a line out the door. It's a big restaurant, but apparently people love it here, so it was still packed. I like how the menu includes both Filipino breakfast and traditional breakfast. We ordered the Filipino breakfast and the Colorado Omelet. The Colorado omelet included diced ham, potatoes, onions, cheese, which almost resembles sisig. It was bursting with juicy flavor and paired well with the triangle shaped hashbrowns. The hashbrowns were perfectly crispy in the outside and soft in the inside. The Filipino breakfast was just okay. The longanisa has good flavor and was cut fileted, but it just did not taste like the traditional longanisa I'm used to. The spam and fried egg was good, but it's hard to mess up spam. Overall the food was great, and I'd come back again for breakfast.

I have been talking about the pork belly for 2 years!!! So glad to be back in the area to get to eat it again. The POG Mimosa was delicious and sweet. Service is so quick that our food made it to the tables before our drinks. The restaurant gets very busy so check in on Yelp on your way over. It's a great brunch spot for friends and family.

Went in early on a Friday before work and everyone was so welcoming and friendly. Had a linguiça craving forever and was so delighted I could get either longanisa or linguiça with eggs for breakfast -- serving was so generous I took home half the sausage and ate the rest for lunch. Hash browns were very diner-style and I personally loved them, the sourdough and eggs were both great too.

Stopped by for breakfast on a Tuesday morning after reading great reviews and learning that it's a unique Filipino spot! There was absolutely no wait around 9am. We shared Marciana's fried rice and a chicken biscuit which was plenty of food and very filling for 2 people. Both dishes were very good and unique! The fried rice is really loaded with goodies like bacon, sausage, ham, and crunchy delicious peppers - so good! The service was also friendly and quick. Overall, a great and unique breakfast spot! Would definitely recommend!

Always friendly here! I loved the Santa Maria tri tip breakfast sandwich, so far the best item on the menu. I kinda wish I ordered fries to go with it! The chimichurri is great also. The potato cakes are dense and yummy! While the country potatoes are amazing (if they are all soft. Sometimes they can be hard which is ok.) The biscuits and gravy are a solid 4/5 Breakfast sandwich 3.6/5 Santa Maria tri tip sandwich 5/5 Cali omelette 4.2/5 A solid reliable spot for breakfast that definitely brings in the crowd!! We come early morning - like opening hour. A great flavor profile that feels like professional home style food.

We had a great experience here for breakfast! No wait time around 9:15 on a weekday, but we noticed it was pretty packed when we left around 10am. We tried the Tostada salad for $16 and the loco moco for $18. The breakfast burrito is $15 with a side, so we ordered that to go with fresh fruit. We enjoyed every dish. The salad was fresh and I loved that it had a lot of protein as I got grilled chicken. The crunch if the toastada was great with it. The loco moco feels very homey between the gravy and beef on rice, like comfort food. It was seasoned well, so not too salty or anything but we think a bit of something crunchy would make it even better. The gravy is mushroom based and the egg is soft too, so everything kind of felt like a similar texture after a few bites. A side of hashbrowns would be great with it! The burrito was one of my favs. They put broken pieces of hash browns in it and it went so well with the eggs and cheese! Crunchy and cheesy! Also, great prices since the portions are generous and the burrito came with a side. Loved our experience. So glad we came by. Service was consistent and super nice.

Excellent fried chicken and waffles. Quite possibly the best I've ever had. Great seasoning and crispyness. Drinks are plentiful and coffee keeps coming.

I love a good Filipino breakfast so I had to go when I saw they had longaniza on the menu. This place was super crowded but because I came by myself I was seated quickly in their bar area. I ordered their spam, longaniza and rice plate with eggs over easy. Simple breakfast, nothing to write home about but it definitely appeased my craving. Also ordered this peanut butter chocolate pie to go which had a cheesecake vibe to it. I'd go again and try other items for sure.

EVERYONE LOVES BUTTER! What are you even doing here if you don't like butter??? It's LITERALLY called the Butter House lol. Pretty sure this is where locals come. Came here during Monterey Car Week at 8:30am and this place was POPPING, like 45 mins to an hour wait. I'd you're a small party of 2 or solo, jump to the counter for no wait! I was literally wait list number 34 and became no wait as soon as the counter opened. Coffee is strong! I got the lemon curd and blueberry pancakes because wow, gotta get something iconic! They were perfect, light, and fluffy! Very tasty and dreamy.

Worth a visit if you are around. There's a waitlist via Yelp where you can join when you are around. Service is fast and decor is fairly nice. I believe there's an Asian influence to this place. The portions are decent size and flavoring isn't bad.

Updating to 4 stars - reason: the pork belly fried rice was too salty. Still giving 4 stars as we were still happy with the rest of our meal especially the mango french toast as recommended by our server. Hope they can adjust the taste pf the pork belly fried rice for the future. The lumpia isn't the typical filipino lumpia that's in my mind. Better to join the waitlist on Yelp!

Came here twice during 2025's summer solstice Friday. First for breakfast then for lunch. Used Yelp's Waitlist option twice and didn't have to wait for a table. We've been here before and that experience was a factor for us to return. This time around, the meals were different. The Pork Belly Fried Rice was too salty and the Fried Chicken Waffles was average. We returned to meet up with friends for a late lunch and had the Mango French Toast and TBH Burger. Both lacked flavor. The burger was bland and dry. Service was attentive even if the joint was busy.

The Butter House is a good place for breakfast. It was pretty busy inside at 9am and almost all the tables were taken, but luckily we were able to snag a table in the corner. Based on what I got (One Eyed Jack which consists of a piece of toast with an egg in the middle and fruit on the side), I would give a rating of 3 stars, but will add an extra star for service. When my order first came out, I noticed that there was a very tiny dot of green on the edge of the toast. I was going to eat it as it is, but I decided to flip the toast around to inspect it and my heart sank when I saw that there was a streak of green on the fried egg and toast. I was scared because I was worried that it was mold. I googled it later and it could possibly be a chemical reaction from the egg of some sort, but it looked very unappetizing. Upon flipping the toast, the egg yolk broke and runny egg spilled onto the plate, which shouldn't happen because I asked for the egg to be hard and cooked all the way. Our server was nice and quick to take action. He apologized for the dish and took it away to be remade. The second toast that came out was fine and the egg was cooked to the way I requested. The other dishes that my family ordered looked delicious and they enjoyed it. All the workers were wearing a Friends themed shirt that says Lumpias, and I thought it was cute.

Overall, a really great experience staff was friendly. We were seated immediately. I came here with my husband and two daughters. My daughter ordered the one one and one one waffle one scrambled egg one bacon I ordered the chicken and biscuit waffle with Sriracha, honey and lumpia w/ mimosa. My husband ordered the pork fried rice and everything was really good. I will say the lumpia was a little greasy for my taste And we spent a total of $75 for everything. The restaurant was packed, but the volume was overall relatively low.

Incredible Food, Vibe & Service! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was just right--friendly, welcoming, and full of great energy. There's a convenient barcode at the front door to join the waitlist, but we opted to sit at the bar instead. We spotted the bartender pouring a gorgeous purple drink and had to ask about it--turns out it was the lavender lemonade, and it's officially my new favorite! My friends and I decided to step out of our comfort zones and share a few dishes. The carne asada fried rice was flavorful and unique, and the shrimp and grits--wow! I've had shrimp and grits many times, but never quite like this. Absolutely delicious. The food came out surprisingly fast, and everything we tried was a hit. If you're thinking about visiting, don't hesitate--just go. You won't be disappointed.

Unfortunately, this was the worst meal we had in Monterey and surrounding areas. Both the Filipino breakfast and pork belly rice (we were drawn to the Asian flair offered so ordered both these off the menu) were disappointing. The pork belly was dry and the rice was too "wet"- tasted like Spanish rice rather than a true Asian fried rice. Maybe other items on their menu taste better but these two dishes were not tasty. The lumpia was decent but not standout. On a positive note, service was friendly and the interior was nice and spacious.

Stopped here for brunch with my brothers while we were in the area, and it's a good thing we joined their online waitlist! They are packed even early in the morning, and for obvious reasons after we tried their food. - carne asade fried rice: 8/10 the rice is so yummy but the meat leaned more on the salty side, HOWEVER, take note that we just don't eat a lot of salt so it's NOT the restaurants fault! I'm sure it was perfectly seasoned! Overall very delish and would order again! - lumpia: 10/10 no notes, would order again. So delicious and amazingly crunchy - breakfast sando: 8/10 I picked the sausage option, not bad. I wish I ordered something else because I love the fusion options, I just got super hungry and wanted to order something quick. - pork belly fried rice: 10/10 so good, the garlic fried rice was amazing and absolutely addictive! My brothers and I agreed that this was a great dish and we would come back to order this again. - biscuit with hot honey; okay THIS was undoubtedly the BEST item of the meal. Undocumented because we all scarfed it down quickly - SO GOOD, flaky and buttery, sweet and spicy perfection. Hats off to whoever added that to the menu and to the chef! You guys know what you're doing, keep doing it. Service was amazing, 1000/10. Very family friendly breakfast spot, must come here if you have the chance!

The pork belly itself was so so flavorful and truly melted in your mouth all while being crispy. It is a decent portion and I am glad that it wasn't dry at all. The eggs benedict is a bit interesting with the turkey twist. The lumpia is also decently sized and very well balanced of pork and veggie. There can be a bit of a wait but you can check in on your phone through Yelp!

First time trying the butter house and it was amazing! This is the perfect spot for a mix of American and Filipino breakfast. Everything was delicious and the service was great. This place is very popular so I do recommending joining the Yelp wait list ahead of time though!

We sat at 1:40 pm, they close at 2pm. Service was terrible, the waiter had a really nasty attitude, and gave us very ugly treatment. I would have respected and appreciated so much more if they would have told us, "hi guys we close at 2 and unfortunately we won't be able to serve you" , other than to receive this treatment on Mother's Day. So maybe for the future they can do things differently for others. Service was just horrible. no drink refill, no water refill, no one check in on us after our food arrived or see if we needed anything (like napkins or a refill to our small cups of water) Our waiter look like she was in not in the mood, not welcoming to us at all. we did see her smile and cater to other tables. It was 4 adults 1 kid and one baby and we were charged tip automatically when our bill came, maybe her way to insure tip since she knew she didn't provide any service at all other than taking our order And to be honest if they would not have done that I probably only would have left 3-5$ due to such poor service and attitude given. French toast was very good . Carne asada fried rice was small but very tasty. Burger was huge and fries delicious. We also tried 2 of their ground beef lumpias first time they were good too! Food isn't bad, but with such poor service it ruins the whole experience, I would definitely not want to come here again. Also to add bathroom were very dirty from pee in the floor .

Love coming here when I'm in the area. Great food and great prices. The homemade jelly is absolutely delicious. The service is awesome very attentive. Can't say enough good things about this place. I love the decor. The seats are spacious and comfy.

This is a great breakfast house! The portions are LARGE, the food is excellent, and the service staff are the friendliest you'll find anywhere. A few hints: - You can get on the waitlist from the link on the yelp page. - the packing is usually packed so try across the street. - For the best experience, try weekdays as weekends can be a long wait and noisy . - The wait staff deserves a 20% tip. - BLUEBERRY PANCAKES WITH HOUSE MADE LEMON CURD will blow your mind! Add a few eggs and sausage to make it a combo - then ask for a box for your inevitable leftovers. They heat up well in the take out box (1 - 2 minutes in the microwave)

The butter house was actually super interesting! We came early around 10am breakfast for two. The space is somewhat decent! But we had to wait almost an hour to get seated. Super long lines and we even checked in on Yelp 15 minutes prior. The staff were friendly and nice, they had a smooth process of running things which is great! The food was actually pretty good! I see why he's popular. I got the fried rice and my wife's got the short stacks with Apple juice and orange juice! Both the juices were EXCELLENT! You can tell how fresh it was. The short stacks had a unique lemon flavor which it made it very unique! The fried rice with spam was nothing special.. I wish I tried something different but the hostess recommended it and said it was a house favorite but honestly it's just day old rice mixed with meat. I would definitely be back to try something different and get another glass of the freshly squeezed juice!

We received a recommendation for TBH from our hotel. We liked that we could add our names to the waitlist from the car and we were seated in about 15 minutes. The server was attentive even though the place was packed. We ordered the chicken biscuit, lumpia, bacon, French toast with mango curd, a veggie omelette with potatoes, fruit, and beverages. We enjoyed everything. We look forward to visiting again the next time we're in town.

Service good, really attentive, food is pretty good. Only thing i wasn't a fan of is how they make the chicken and waffles. I'm more used to a southern style of fried chicken and waffles but here they used white meat. Still good but i definitely prefer a more southern and traditional style of chicken and waffles.

The food is great whether its the giant pancakes, their Chile Quilles or how about some Lumpia have a big sweet tooth they offer a huge Cinnamon roll to match and conquer that sweet tooth. But be warned they sell out of it long before closing so get your order in sa soon as you are seated. This is a small cozy restaurant family-owned the staff are eager to please and very knowledgeable. We first heard of the restaurant on KQED's " Check Please". Well worth the drive from San Jose. Just a disclaimer: delayed review We dined here sometime in March during our coastal roadtrip, group of 5, waited for 15 minutes to grab brunch. It was Yelp/Google find. Decided to give it a try and so pleased we did! They were bustling busy, loved their menu with a touch of Asian fusion.I got pancake, my friends got the Philippino pork belly fried rice with guacamole, omelettes with toast and home made strawberry spread, and lots of coffee! The food was delicious! The winner has to be the fried rice. I wish I had ordered that dish. Lol, it was that good. The ambiance doesn't scream anything like upscale, just has those regular American breakfast vibes. But the food, trust me serves! Our server he was a nice guy, energetic, don't remember the name, but he took good care of us.

TLDR: The food was good, service was also good :) Came in around 1PM on a Saturday! Wait was about 30-40 min so be sure to check in on Yelp. We were seated promptly, and our server was really nice :) The breakfast sandwich was sooo good I loved the portion size and the croissant was flaky and buttery Pork belly fried rice was also good! Pork came with a sauce that was tangy, vinegar forward. My partner enjoyed this as well.

We were really excited to see them on the menu and when they were brought out as appetizers, we dug in right away. Great taste and crunch to them! I ordered the fried chicken and waffles. The chicken was great! It had such a great breaded texture as well as a delicious taste. The waffle batter was yummy as well. My friend ordered the pork belly fried rice which she absolutely fell in love with. She said that she hadn't had one that good since she was last in Hawaii. Overall, service and food was great so I will definitely be back to try something else.

Back again this has become a must go when we are in Monterey. Everything is fresh and delicious well prepared food no matter what we have ordered. The chicken and waffles are definitely a must chicken juicy but not greasy. Waffles light n fluffy not chewy. Tostada was light lettuce fresh and crispy chicken was grilled full of flavor hands down the best I've had. Now to the last the Lumpia's 1st they are not small! And packed with a lot of filling no skimping here. The hash brown nuggets fried to perfection crispy on the outside side soft on the inside and not sitting in grease.

Seaside is a town most including us, pass by for years on the way to and from Monterey and Carmel. The Butter House got me to not only finally stop at Seaside but got me to order something out that I never thought I would. French Toast is so easy that it's something I've been making since middle school, but with the promise of it made with chocolate banana bread, I could not resist. Luckily, I was able to do a 1/2 portion of it and the lemon curd blueberry pancakes since I couldn't decide and paired with the savory Marciano's butter fried rice with spam, it was the perfect combo of sweet and savory. Who said you can't have it all, including lumpia for breakfast. Came back 3 months later and got a full order of that Chocolate Banana Bread French Toast, it was that good. The savory this time was the Tri-Tip Chimichurri Breakfast Sandwich with an over medium egg, mixed greens, and cheddar on sourdough. Good, but I still prefer the Marciano's butter fried rice for my savory.

We came to this restaurant for the first time and thought it must use a lot of butter in their food hence the name "The Butter House" and it's got to be flavorful right? The answer to that is nope, not at all and probably more oil than butter is definitely used. I ordered a Loco Moco that had very little flavor, the meat patty wasn't seasoned and unfortunately the brown gravy didn't help. I had to add more salt to boost the flavor which I rarely need to do for most Loco Moco's I have eaten in the past. I have to say that my egg was cooked perfectly though! The Tri-Tip sandwich was very greasy and heavy. My husband referred to it as a grease pit. The Lumpia's were flavorless unless you dipped it in the sweet chili sauce which really helped. Also, the fresh squeezed orange juice was not fresh squeezed "to order" and had that old orange juice taste right off the bat. On a positive note, the service was very friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, I don't see us returning.

I've tried this place twice now and honestly, I don't get the hype. The portion sizes, long wait times, and prices just don't match the excitement people talk about. I'd rather walk two blocks over to Grandma's Kitchen -- better portions, better value, and a much better experience overall.

This is a lovely spot for some American Filipino styled breakfast!! we of course ordered lumpia and also shared a pork belly fried rice and lemon curd + blueberry pancake. love a good sweet and savory combo! the lumpia was really delicious! very crispy and flavorful.. should've gotten more but needed to save room for our two breakfast entrees ;) the pork belly fried rice was great! i liked the bell peppers mixed in with the rice~ i was afraid the meal would be a bit too heavy but surprisingly it wasn't! for our sweet breakfast, the pancake was delightful! the lemon flavor added bright notes and balanced out the savoriness of the other foods. it was also really big lol service was good and our waiter was attentive! Would come back here if I'm ever in the area

This review is strictly for their cinnamon roll, which I got to-go. Staff was super sweet and friendly, helping prep it how I asked (I wanted part cut and warmed up to be able to eat right away but the rest saved). Was so sweet to meet the woman who said she made the recipe? and introduced the dish to the menu and taught the staff how to make it. She also gave me advice on what the pastry was about and how to eat it at home with reheating. The pastry itself was deliciousssss. I'm picky about my cinnamon rolls and like them to have bread-dough, not croissant dough. This is that style, and the cinnamon sugar gooiness was generous, not underflavored like some can be. There were even parts where the sugar cinnamon crusted up to make thin crunch edges, and the cream cheese frosting on top was a perfect balance to the flavors in good proportion. Really my kind of cinnamon roll done right! Price was a little hefty at $14 something including tax, but the size is HUGE. Covers a whole dinner plate and slathered in frosting on top. Was visiting in the area and hope to be able to return one day soon to dine in and try more!
