On any given day, you might find red velvet croissants and oatmeal cookie sandwiches stuffed with brown butter frosting behind the case. "Yes, The Buttermillk Ranch is a fantastic sit-down brunch restaurant, but thanks to the takeaway counter, you can also drop in solely for those perfectly laminated croissants, in all manners of shapes, staring at you from the case. The bulbous pistachio one is a favorite, but so is the churro, served with a side of chocolate for dipping. If you’ve already waited in line for a table to try their square breakfast sandwich, you can stockpile your pastries onto your order to take with you after you pay your bill, and skip a second wait time at the counter. "This bakery and brunch spot in Nashville has a whole section of its menu dedicated “laminations” like churro cruffins tossed in cinnamnon sugar and filled with dark chocolate and dulce de leche. Order the bacon squared breakfast cube—a toasted, layered marvel that’s stuffed with eggs, onion-jalapeno jam, bacon and cheese. The line here can get mind-bogglingly long, and sitting inside will invariably be loud, especially on weekends. Put that all together, and you have the makings of a fustercluck cake. And yet, you shouldn’t let any of that stand in your way because these are some of the best pastries you’ll have in your life. Go for a sit-down brunch in the dining room—that's the only place you can order their magnificent pastry cubes. These laminted, box-shaped marvels come filled with things like steamed eggs, bacon, cheese, and sausage. "Despite the name, you’re not coming to The Butter Milk Ranch for riffs on arguably the best wing dipping sauce in history—you’re here for breakfast. Hit this spot early (seriously, it gets very crowded mid-morning) for a meal of ricotta and herb soft scramble with chili crunch, and a basket of biscuits with sublime poblano gravy.
