This is the one of the most unique eateries we have experienced. What a little gem of a find, as we ambled out of the Walter hungry for a bite. Only complaint is that the signage was too subtle and we almost missed it. Turns out that the restaurant is working with the historical society to improve this.
Now to the FOOD. So creative! The menu has innovative options that you simply don't find these days. True creativity with the meldings of cultures and tastes and textures. A complete delight, we ordered the bulgogi melt and the Tandoori chicken with chickpea batter. DELICIOUS. Where else can you find a Cuban, next to a Ugandan dish, next to a Banh mi?? I can't say enough about the melting pot of foods offered on this diminitive menu, and for such affordable prices.
Loved the ambience and the origin story of this place. We chatted up our friendly server, and got all the info on the founder, his vision and the evidence of his design skills throughout the place. This cafe can hold its own amongst differentiated newcomers in much bigger cities. Fascinating and fun, and exactly the type of unique, forward-thinking, fresh local business I like to support. Please try it, and see for yourselves why Baltimore is lucky to have this little jewel of cafe!
