Stopped by this lovely bookstore while visiting Ocean City from Columbus, Ohio. Book selection is awesome and I love the personal notes they leave in some of them explaining why they like that book. There is also a note in each banned book saying why it’s banned. I was able to enjoy a glass of non-alcoholic wine while browsing the store. Staff was very friendly! Highly recommend a visit to anyone in the area!

My family stops by the Ocean City area most summers, and I quickly added this bookstore to my "musts" every time we're in town. I love their wine selection and the fact that I can walk around with wine while I shop. And I can't say enough about their book curation. You'll find best sellers and genres from romance to sci-fi, but also indie publications and translated work. Such an amazing selection and I love all of the little review cards the staff makes. I like grabbing a glass of the lambrusco to shop then two bottles to take home, along with a new book.

BOOKS & WINE BAR !! Break from busy, beach insanity. Interesting selection of wines, sit at the bar or sip while you shop. Lesser known authors, varied genres, easy to browse shelves. Our 2nd time there; always purchase a book and a glass (or three, lol.) Owner writes a personal 'book mark' critique - SO COOL to know 'who' actually wrote the reviews (unlike lg publishers, could be anyone they employ.) Kudos to bravery, passion of this small biz owner - proud to support her!

Cute bookstore / wine bar. Accessible and bright. Has cute seating to enjoy your wine. Good selection of books from all genres. They take used books in good condition for store credit. The woman working wasn't the most engaging but when asked direct questions was helpful. Open late. Worth stopping by.

Great concept, lots of good books to choose from (including some on the Banned list)!! Yellow cards inside most books with thoughts from a reader, great way to convince me to buy more even if that isn't hard.

Picked up 3 bottles of wine here last week and all three were fantastic. Such a unique selection of wines here and very reasonably priced. We got a Cava. A German Elbling. And a red blend by Erggelet Brothers from Contra Costa County, CA that was the star at our dinner. It was a blend of Zin, Mataro, Grenache and Carignane. So good. The Elbling was top notch too. Juicy, fruity with minerality like a Riesling. Go here. You will leave happy.

THIS. PLACE. IS. THE. BEST. Amazing selection of curated books. It’s like asking your coolest friend, “What should I read?” and getting a whole store as the answer. The owner and staff leave handwritten notes and thoughts on about 70% of the books, so you’re not just judging them by their covers. I come here multiple times during my family’s annual week in OC. I stock up on books and enjoy a glass of wine sans children. Last year, I found a book I loved (in all it's damaged glory 😉) so much I made my book club read it the minute I got home. The wine selection is lovely too. I haven’t had a bad bottle yet, and everything is reasonably priced. If you’re not stopping here on your vacation, what are you even doing? My only complaint is that this place is three hours from my house.

Absolutely LOVE this idea of a wine bar and book store, and was SO happy to see this open within walking distance from my beach house. Book selection is small but I still found something I've been eyeing, and the wine is great! I tried some orange wine and took home a sparkling rose.

It's a cute place and love the idea...wine and books. I didn't have my glasses on...I inquired if the tags on the wine are describing/matching a book (to drink while reading); I just got a "no" and continued on her laptop. Oh well. That would be cute marketing idea. Anywho, I did buy some knick knacks that caught my eye. Maybe I'll stop by another time and get a better vibe.

How badly I wish I lived in Ocean City, simply so I could come here and read/sip wine! I stopped in on a trip to Ocean City, and am so glad I did. The person working at the store was super friendly and helped me find a book I was looking for - there was also one that I wanted that wasn't there, and she was going to help me purchase it/send it to the store for me. The ambiance and the vibe are soooo cute (photos attached). Definitely stop in if you are a reader!

Been wanting to come for years. We never do scopes and said yes this year and as a happy surprise the Buzzed Word is two doors down. All the feels with a glass of Lambrusco while shopping for books. Ages 44 - 7 all found something to bring home.

I absolutely love this place!! I always make sure to stop in when I visit! The staff are so welcoming and friendly. I've never done the wine tasting, but I plan too! They sell a great selection of popular, indie, and hidden gem books as well as a variety of different wines! The displays are always amazing and make me excited to read on the beach!!

The owner was working when we decided to visit The Buzzed Word. It was a must stop on our Book Club weekend. Sadly, it was a complete disappointment. She seemed as though our presence interrupted her empty store. However, we still ordered a glass of wine and perused the store. We were excited to find a book and patronize a small business. When I asked if she had another copy of a specific book she replied, with thick sarcasm, "we don't have a secret stash." A simple, non- snarky response indicating there were not additional copies would have been sufficient. She was more worried about talking to her friends who wandered in and simply didn't care about our business. We'll go elsewhere- Bethany Beach Books and Browseabout Books we're looking at you! Thanks for being welcoming and kind to our party of 5 that were clearly looking to spend money.

Such a cute little place! My friends and I stopped by for a wine tasting on a Saturday afternoon. I loved the vibe of the Buzzed Word - part wine bar, part bookstore, and part wine shop with comfy couches, string lights everywhere, and mid-century modern decor. It was mostly empty, so we sat down at the bar right away and asked to do a tasting. The owner Mickie gave detailed and accurate descriptions of each natural wine we tried (the tasting included 4). I didn't know much about natural wines and while none of them would be a go-to for me, they were cool to experience. We also ended up ordering some snacks - the Smoked Cheddar, Bread & Olive Oil, Losadas Olives, and Dolmas. Everything was delicious, especially the cheddar. After the tasting, we ended up shopping around for a bit and I purchased some cute stickers and greeting cards. I also ended up coming back later to buy some mead from The Buzz Meadery (local to the area), which was delicious. Would absolutely return!

I had a great time listening to live poetry and browsing the book selection at The Buzzed Word. I did not order wine as I actually forgot to bring my ID. No wine, still had a great time! The books were really what I went for and I was not disappointed at all. So many to pick from, including an entire shelf devoted to books that have been banned across the country for various reasons. Reasons are listed! Staff book reviews and top picks are lovingly placed throughout the store. The Buzzed Word is such a treat and asset to the Eastern Shore. I'll definitely be back!!

Well curated and welcoming bookstore in Ocean City! The selection of books was diverse and wonderful, and there were TONS of thoughtful staff recs (on display and throughout the store). There's a variety of gifts and trinkets, in addition to an array of wines (that you can enjoy while browsing!). The owner was lovely as well. Highly recommend!

This place was being built two years ago when we last visited OC. I was excited to check it out on this year's trip. The business model is brilliant; a bookstore/wine bar? What's not to like. There is a great variety of new books. I love how many of the books have thorough, honest reviews written on bookmarks. Those reviews certainly steered me in the direction of some new reads. The wine bar offers 5 or so wines, but there is no official menu with prices because we were told "the list changes all the time." I would suggest a dry erase menu so patrons could see the wine types and prices before ordering. I think they also have a small list of small plates/charcuterie that they had listed on a small sign. There was a small selection of used books, and knick knacks. Bar seating was available, as well as some couches. One gripe I have is that the one woman running the place did not have great customer service. She did not come over to us or anything and had to actively seek her out to purchase wine/books while she sat at the bar on a computer. That's not the way to make sales.

Would give zero stars if able to. Horrible customer service. From the moment my friends and I walked in, the owner acted like we were bothered that we walked in. When asking for assistance with books, she was very short and cut us off. She was more concerned with chatting with her friend who was holding a toddler and drinking at the bar. Very rude! We are a book club of five women who were excited to support a local small business but her attitude turned us off. Will not return and do recommend. Stay away, she's not interested in your business.

Just came from a wine tasting class at this lovely little bookstore and natural wine shop - the owner was a wealth of information and we got to try some very interesting wines (a couple of which we liked enough to take home). Definitely worth a trip!

We visited this wonderful little book nook in OC. Wonderful is all I can say. My wife relaxes going through the latest books. Oh, and there's wine if you need to relax and have a nip.

AHHHMAZING! The most perfectly curated collection of books and wine, hidden in an Ocean City strip mall. A true gem. And you can enjoy a glass of delicious wine while you shop. Go today!

My best friend owns a home in Ocean City, and we are often there on mulitple vacations a year. Recently we were there with our husbands and were on our way to a winery. When we happened to put in Ocean City, instead of the location of the winery we were heading to - it pointed us here! SO HAPPY!! A cute, cozy and bright shop. Books are well displayed to allow alot of reviewing to find just the right one. In store reviews attached to the featured shelves is a nice, personal, touch. Comfy couches up front to lounge in, and a full sized wine bar! Nice selection of wines as well. Check out the shelves - some cute little curios as well; depression glass, vintage items, etc. I picked up two books and grabbed a Antidote chocolate bar as well. This will definately be a place we will return to in thenicer weather to spend some quality time. High recommend.
