Justin Verlander Punked With Fake $1 Million Lunch Bill in Beverly Hills | Eater LA

"At a high-end hotel café in Beverly Hills, Astros pitcher Justin Verlander was the target of a viral prank when a lunch receipt included a “Dodger Killer” miscellaneous line charging just over $1 million, pushing the final bill to nearly $1.1 million after taxes alongside an expensive meal (including a $9 latte, a $42 McCarthy salad, and a $30 stack of pancakes). He posted the receipt on Twitter, and after staff had a laugh about the fake seven-figure charge, management comped the entire meal." - Farley Elliott

This spot has a special charm that makes the visit memorable. The atmosphere feels relaxing and the staff is genuinely kind and attentive. It is a great place to enjoy a drink or a coffee while taking in the surroundings. The prices are on the higher side, yet the overall experience still feels worth it. The drinks are good, though there is a little space for them to get even better.

Google
The service is impeccable - we were waited on by Golan, who was SO SO kind. He even treated us to an unbelievable pink macaron that I can't stop thinking about. The Poke Bowl and Protein Bowl were amazing. SO filling and worth every penny.

The Cabana Cafe was a lovely experience. My parents were visiting from out of town, and this was the perfect place to take them. The food was excellent, but the service was even better. Shout out to our awesome server, Joseph, Austin, Adam, Alana, and the rest of the marvelous team :)

Google
Iconic old Hollywood spot but the staff were very inattentive and I didn’t really appreciate the no photo rule particularly given people are largely paying for the overpriced food for the gram. Beautiful hotel and pretty Christmas decorations but the meals themselves were relatively average

Neha T.

Google
I was very disappointed with the food. We paid $175 for 2 glasses of wine, a sandwich and a salad. The atmosphere is nice and I understand that it is in an iconic hotel however I expected more. Will not be going back.

Google
It was nice here but extremely expensive. The drinks were great though!

Google
My dream to stay at this hotel but due to effects of inflation my husband and I decided to eat there instead. I love the vintage preppy vibe of it. The servers wear preppy tennis outfits. Really nice service. During the holidays the place was adorned with real Poinsettia flowers and gilded holiday ornaments. Very festive so I'm happy I went a couple days before Christmas. I wasn't cold at all, the temp that day was high 60s. I am not too sure but I think we got a Marilyn Monroe inspired drink, french onion soup, quesadilla and burger. My burger was impossible meat. Food was great!

Google
This is a very iconic place, honestly it’s worth the experience, but def it’s an expensive one. I highly recommend this chill for drinks and coffee, the service it’s pretty friendly and helpful, everything looks great, tho I think there’s room to improve the drinks

Yelp
Overpriced food, low service hospitality, unpleasant dining environment. Wanted to go to Polo Lounge but there's no outdoor seating so we went down to the Cabana Cafe by the pool. It's a cool country club vibe with the iconic pink design. We didn't make a reservation but got seated quick on a Sunday afternoon for late lunch. Hostess was full of attitude as if she owns the place. Service is alright, our server gave decent recommendations for food. However it was quite difficult to look for a server, took forever for them to pick up the check. Had to walk to the counter by the entrance to check out (it's Beverly Hills Hotel..) We ordered quesadilla and poke bowl, quesadilla was good. Poke is 6.5/10, it's alright. Nothing special, overpriced. Latte is average, Matcha is decent (they use La La Land Kind Cafe matcha) The ambience is alright, nothing wow. There was a lot of flies flying around the entire time, which is quite unpleasant. Server were standard when we place the order, came back once to check up on us. But that's it, after we asked for the bill, they were gone. Overpriced food is okay for the Beverly Hotel experience, but better hospitality is expected when it comes to a 5 star hotel. How embarrassing it is when you have to seat there for at least 15 mins for them to not notice to pick up the check? Needs better training. The overall vibe is a more casual/ laid-back version of the polo lounge but it's nothing comparable. The price point is on the higher side and I'd rather just go to the polo lounge, and not having to dodge the flies. Maybe it was the staff was short, but nothing really makes me want to come back. It's a chill family spot to hang out during the weekend, if you want to be at somewhere more exclusive and chill?

Yelp
Came here for a friends birthday brunch. This place is really cute. I love the colors and theme. I will say the menu didnt have much but I guess with brunch that would be expected. We ordered the coconut with pina colada was it worth $60 no lol but was it cute yes. I think they use an aged rum and thats why. We shared the sandwhich which was good portion and actually really good and fries. They gave a complimentary chocolate cake which was so cute. Overall very cutesy and the customer service was great.
google avatar

Mary K.

Yelp
This place is disappointing. The ambience is nice being pool side and the decor is cute but the food was all bland. The tenders were dry and had no flavor and the sandwich was also bland. The pancakes were decent and the fries were good but that's it. Overall I would not come back!

Yelp
Of course this place is iconic. We came for a quick staycation at the hotel with friends to celebrate a milestone birthday and started with lunch here on arrival. Pro's: iconic view and fun crowd, love the decor all the way down to the classic attire of the service crew. Cons: service was a bit disjointed. When we sat down we were so excited and ordered drinks (froze and golden hour) and truffle fries and hummus to start (we had a discussion with our server about hummus v guacamole). Drinks came. Golden hour was very popular and loved. The froze was fine. More of a regret on not understanding how peachy it would be. I don't love peach in drinks. We then ordered mains, hubby and I split the club sandwich and our friends split skirt steak. Our hummus and fries never came. Mains showed up maybe 15 min later. As they were serving our mains I mentioned our missing starters and was met with. Well do you still want them? We decided fries would be good with the sandwich but cancelled the hummus. Fries showed up when we were well into our meal. Mostly just didn't get eaten. The service crew was super clunky clearing one random dish at a time from our table and not seeming to be coordinated. Nobody came to check on us. Food was all very mid (6 or 7 out of 10). We ended up tracking someone down to order a second round of drinks. Drinks were all served in plastic which I suppose is for safety near the pool, just loses some of the elegance you are hoping for here. I would skip this in favor of the polo lounge.

Yelp
Everytime I have eaten here, I have ended up with multiple bug bites all around my legs. This is the fourth time it has happens to me. Management needs to do something about the flies around the booth area.

Yelp
Having lunch at the Beverly Hills Hotel was such a charming experience! I'm so glad I ordered the club sandwich--it was absolutely delicious, and I ended up eating every last bite. I swapped the salad for fresh fruit, which turned out to be a great choice. The berries were incredibly sweet and tasted like they came straight from the farmers market. A perfect meal in a beautiful setting!
google avatar

Yelp
Solid poolside food with a great atmosphere. The steak with chimichurri was a standout -- flavorful and well-prepared but Smurf size portions. Expect to leave underfed. Overall, the food is good, but not necessarily worth going out of your way for. It's more of a nice bonus if you're already staying at the hotel or relaxing by the pool. Classic Beverly Hills vibe with celebrities around every corner, but not a destination dining spot.

Yelp
came here for brunch! we made reservations and got seated immediately, there wasn't too many people here as it was a weekday. the staff was great and they even put "congratulations" on our plate of pancakes as we were celebrating a graduation! i'm not sure if they do that usually. and they even brought an extra dessert for us on the house! food was amazing as well! highly recommend for the ambiance! *beverly sunset *pink palace healthy club *Margherita flatbread *buttermilk pancakes *side of fries *fresh coconut water

Yelp
Dear Beverly Hills Hotel Management, I'm writing to share my deep disappointment following a recent visit to celebrate my son's graduation. I had high hopes for the experience--having fond memories of celebrating my own graduation there--and sadly, it fell far short of expectations. We had originally booked a table and called in advance to add two more guests (my parents), only to be met with rudeness and told a manager would return our call. No one ever followed up. As a result, my parents were excluded from this important family milestone. What made this more confusing was seeing a party of eight seated right in front of us, while we were told adding two people posed a safety concern. To be fair, both the server and the person who checked us in were kind and professional, and we appreciated their demeanor. However, the overall handling of our request--and the lack of any solution--was frustrating and disappointing. I couldn't help but think we should have gone to the Four Seasons instead, where we've always been treated with warmth and care. The food unfortunately didn't help redeem the experience. The kids' pizza came out with unmelted cheese and raw tomato slices--so unappetizing it had to be returned. My daughter's chicken tenders and fries resembled frozen items straight from a grocery store. My McCarthy salad was the one highlight, while my husband's burrata and pickled onion salad was just okay. For a place that charges premium prices, the service and food quality must match. We loved the ambiance and the feel of Old Hollywood, which is why this was such a letdown. I did speak to someone at the end of the meal who said a manager from the Cabana Café team--possibly named Austin--would reach out, but no call ever came. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. There's still an opportunity to make this right, and I sincerely hope you will.

Yelp
I've wanted to come here for years and finally got to go for a ladies brunch. The vibes here give old school Hollywood charm. The seats are a bit low. I had the omelette which came with hash browns and toast. It was pretty good but nothing super special to write home about. It tasted better than I expected. You are definitely paying for the ambiance here. Definitely someplace to try at least once if you're in LA.

Yelp
LOVE LOVE LOVEEEE! The menu is simple but yet so good! I know they change it up here and there but this place has always been my go to for a Sunday Brunch! The service is always 10/10! The ambiance? Come on! It's the Beverly Hills Hotel! It's pink and green very girly very old hollywood, absolutely love this place!
google avatar

Yelp
100% overpriced for what it is but worth it for the experience IMO. We had a lovely experience here, excellent service. The food was good! It wasn't super amazing, innovative, or crazy exciting--but it was solid. It wasn't hard to book a reservation online a day before we went. Also we went around 10 am for Sunday brunch and there was a lot of open tables. ORDER: The iconic McCarthy salad (a little too shredded for my taste, but was enjoyable) The burger The hotdog Onion rings $50 pina colada with coconut shipped from Thailand We said we were splitting the burger and salad, and they kindly split it for us on different plates. We celebrated a birthday and they gave a complimentary cute pizookie with ice cream, & maraschino cherry on top! They accidentally dropped and spilled drinks near our table, we experienced minor splashing, not a big deal. But the for inconvenience they gave us chips and guac! This place is so nostalgic, it feels like you're transported back to the golden age of Hollywood. The vibe is retro glamour vacation. Would go back and would recommend!

Yelp
I absolutely love love this restaurant!!! I celebrate my birthday here every year! Morning Brunch with my family. Looking forward to be celebrating my bday in June and taking my bf here for his first time! I love how they are so attentive and welcoming. They gave me a beautiful birthday experience and can't wait for this year! Ps the pancakes and turkey club are to die for!

Yelp
Came here for brunch today and had such a great experience! The hotel itself is beautiful and so nice to walk around. The Café is by the pool so you get to walk through the hotel and see the shops. We made a reservation in advance and were seated immediately upon arriving. We sat in a booth which is usually meant for 2 but we were able to seat 4 comfortably. The menu has a great selection of breakfast and lunch items. We started with coffee and some fresh juices that tasted great! For the omelette you're able to choose 4 ingredients and it comes with bread and a side - it was delicious and a great size! We got the pumpkin French toast to share, highly recommend! The burger was cooked just right and tasted great. Will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
If you'd like a time machine that can transport you into glamorous 1920s Hollywood, then step into The Cabana Cafe. While the pricing is far from what they were paying in the 20s, the restaurant's decor still holds onto the classic timelessness of the era. Situated next to the pool, the colors are bright which makes this a great spot for birthdays or anything where you're looking for a cheerful vibe. I can't speak for all the items on the menu, but the Sunset Club Sandwich is quite large so if that's what you're eyeing, the portion will be more than filling. Also, a special thank you to our waiter! The place was busy so it understandably took a little longer for him to take our order. Without us even asking he told us to pick an appetizer on him. What? That never happens, but it did here. Again, a bygone era.

Yelp
Gorgeous! Beautifully decorated and attached to the lovely Beverly Hills Hotel. The meals were fresh and tasty in good sized portions. Will absolutely be going back!

Yelp
It's a pretty standard brunch spot for La locals. Food here is how you would expected. The service here was good as expected as well. Seating is outdoors where you can also see the pool so it's a pretty cool view.

Yelp
Had a great time at The Cabana Cafe for brunch. We tried a variety of dishes including steak and shrimp tacos, calamari, and tuna tartare. Prices are definitely on the higher side, but I definitely think this place is worth it for a nice brunch with family or friends. Service was amazing and the day was just right for an outdoor patio brunch. It was pretty busy ~ 12 pm and I definitely think making a reservation in advance is necessary. You have a nice view of the Beverly Hills Hotel pool and the surrounding area is perfect for those instagram shots. Tip: one thing you definitely need to get is the Piña colada that comes in a cute coconut! It was the perfect drink to finish off this brunch outing. Definitely can't wait to come back!

Yelp
It was my best friend's 36th birthday and she really wanted to do brunch here. We had dinner at the Chateau Marmont recently and it was excellent, so we've been kind of in the mood to try out the various restaurants of classic hotels in the city. The hotel is lovely in an old fashioned sort of way, the history is really the attraction. It does come off as a bit pretentious and bougie but we were prepared for that, though I wish it was as good as it was self-important. We were also prepared for the prices, but expected incredible food. We got the flat bread pizza and the eggs Benedict, and honestly both were absolutely delicious and I know that the cost is not in the actual food but in the ambiance, so though I would rarely bother to pay $40 for an eggs benedict, it was fine. The size of the portions was excellent. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. We had a 1:00 reservation and we were a bit late, we got there at 1:10 and they seated us right away. A few minutes later she came by to get our drink orders, honestly those were both tremendously overpriced and non-alcoholic ($25 for a coconut). But again, I know we're paying for the place, so we were expecting this. However they never brought over waters, and then they took our food order when they delivered the drinks, the food order came out in a fairly timely fashion, and then nobody checked on us again for over an hour. The waitress didn't come by to ask if a food was to our liking, didn't come by to ask if we needed waters or refills on our drinks. I had a very brightly colored non-alcoholic juice beverage, and when I got about 3/4 through it, I started rationing it because I realized they hadn't come by and I didn't want to be without a beverage. My drink sat there slowly dwindling for over half an hour without any check in. It was clearly obvious (as I said, it was brightly colored) if anyone server bothered to walk by, and we got to a point where we started very obviously looking around for wait staff, only to spend at least 10 minutes not seeing a single server within view of our table. We finally flagged down a waitress who came to bring the bill to a table near us, and asked her for sparkling water and a coffee. Just a few minutes later our regular waitress came by, asked if we needed anything, we explained we already ordered sparkling water and coffee from the other waitress because we hadn't seen her in an hour. A few minutes later we received our sparkling water, coffee, and the two glasses of water which should have been delivered at the beginning of our meal. The cups for the sparkling water were plastic, and honestly I don't believe they were dirty but they were scratched up the way that acrylic tends to get over time. It wasn't the best look, especially since everything else was glass. I finally asked for the check, and thankfully at that point they remembered that it was a birthday and they brought out the piece of cake. Honestly, the cake was the highlight. It was absolutely amazing, a flourless chocolate and raspberry cake. And of course they didn't charge for that, but it was easily the best thing on the menu. Ultimately, we expected the price, we expected the quality of food, we didn't expect how good the dessert would be (5 stars for that!), and we were deeply disappointed with the service. We spent 2 hours there and barely saw our waitress. I'm hoping that was a one-time situation, but it wasn't like it was busy - there are very few people there. I appreciate when servers want to give you privacy to have conversations, but no check in to see if our food was to our liking or if our drinks needed to be refilled was pretty sad. Honestly, if you're interested in the history and you want to impress someone by not caring about price, this is a decent place. If you actually want good service, my experience tells me go elsewhere. At some point I'm sure I will try again and see if this was a fluke, but I'm not in any rush, even though it's conveniently located to me (I'm in Bel Air, the country club restaurant has a nicer vibe with much better service).
google avatar

Tina B.

Yelp
Food: okay, nothing crazy amazing to return for. Service: excellent. They did not annoy us much with asking how we are doing and we're professional :) We were there around 1pm and it was not crazy busy for a Sunday and not too noisy. It was pleasant to be there.

Yelp
From the moment I pulled up to valet with a friendly greeting to making my way downstairs to the Cabana Cafe it took me back many decades to old Hollywood elegance! Greeted by the lovely host who complimented my outfit and told me I should be a stylist. I'm coming back for more compliments! I needed that love after being in hiding! Thank you xx From being the first to arrive and getting seated by friendly and accommodating staff to our lovely server by the name of Jasmine, the entire day was pink magical! We even spotted a few celebrities as it is Oscar weekend! This place is so classic old Hollywood that the elegance and vibe of the entire place brought upon a romanticism that had been lost during time. Pictures of all the old Hollywood actors and memories brought to life the ghosts of the past as we sat to enjoy our elegant surroundings. Make sure you validate your ticket it will save you $5. Very expensive menus but worth it for a beautiful outing or special occasion. I've included the menu to get an idea of what they have and the price. I would love to rent a cabana next time and get tanned by the welcoming pool!
google avatar

Kelsea K.

Yelp
This spot is adorable for breakfast or lunch with friends (or visitors from out of town). The entire Beverly Hills Hotel property is outstanding. Valet parking makes it super convenient. For lunch, my friend and I chose the Cabana Cafe near the pool area. We snagged a secluded booth with a nice view of the restaurant while still enjoying some privacy. I opted for the Hotel California drink, and my friend tried the Casa Del Fuego. Not feeling too hungry, we split the Wagyu Cheeseburger. The server was very friendly and checked in on us periodically. Prices are what you'd expect for a hotel, definitely on the higher side. In my opinion, everything tasted great--I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
I love the Beverly Hills Hotel, but there were some small details that made some of the other restaurants here a little better. It is nice that it is right by the pool, but you are asked to not photograph the pool or the cafe area. There was some food under the first table we were sat at, so we ended up moving. I got a cappuccino, which I had at the Polo Lounge prior, but it was missing the sugar cane stick and the "The Beverly Hills" wording. The service at any restaurant at the Beverly Hills Hotel is great. Always greeted by the staff with a smile. They acknowledged our birthday celebration immediately. We received quick refills and were checked up on after our food arrived. Our server was switched to someone else half way through the meal, or so I think. There was no introduction or notice of that. However, the food was delicious. I had the eggs benedict, and it was perfect. The truffle fries were one of the best I have had. The birthday dessert they brought out was a delicious, good sized cookie. The Cabana Cafe is great for a bit of a more casual brunch.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is just okay.. for the price you would think the food is better. The Wagyu burger was kind of dry and I was disappointed that the crab quesadillas are seasonal now. There are some other things on the menu That's pretty good like the avocados but how hard is that to make. Overall the atmosphere is amazing it's just that pretty much all ur paying for.
google avatar

Yelp
All the workers and our server, Marco made this a great lunch experience for my wife and I. We were given complimentary champagne for our anniversary as soon as we sat down. Marco was nice enough to take photos for us and tell us about some food and drink recommendations. We started off with a fruit plate. Everything was super fresh. For my meal I had the truffle pizza. I wasn't expecting much from a lunch pizza, but the tastes were different than anything I had ever had. Not sure what they did to make it so delicious, but it was a great meal.

Lucy H.

Yelp
food was pretty good, i got the fish tacos and the club sandwich. the fish tacos were really good and the pickled onions were perfect. the club sandwich was just a club sandwich. the service was great and the staff are very organized and friendly. it's poolside, but you aren't allowed to take pics of the pool.

Yelp
Super cute cafe in the poolside of beverly hills hotel!! get the cabana booth if they are available! It will add extra retro vibes on your dining experience. If you are looking for the latte art with the "beverly hills hotel" word, it is NOT in the cabana cafe, it's in the polo lounge. For the food, i would recommend getting the fluffy blueberry pancake! They have butter and maple for the condiments and fruity sweet blueberry fruit in your pancake. The sunset club is also awesome! I got mine with truffle fries too!

Yelp
First time at the Cabana Café. Brought the family there to celebrate my wife's birthday. We had a great time! Had a great table and a great server, Edith, and the food was great. Edith brought a surprise birthday treat to the table at the end of our meal. Afterwards, it was fun to be able to explore the grounds, as well as spend some time in some of the attractive, peaceful indoor spaces.. Everyone was very nice and friendly. Overall, a great time and a memorable experience for all of us.

Yelp
Refinement leads to achievement. They prepared for us a fancy pink HBD experience at their Cabana Cafe. Their branding is on point from the service, to the epicurus and ambience; connecting all dots , not just a casual observation. From the glasses that hold our drinks, to the presentation of the plates, the surprise HBD cake that comes with a cute pink tote. Come experience for yourself. Free 2 hr street parking on N Crescent.

Yelp
Located within the Beverly Hills Hotel in the beautiful pool area, stands an oasis of pure luxury and enjoyment. The Cabana Cafe is that place for the good food and casual atmosphere. When I had brunch with a friend here yesterday, I spotted a couple of celebrities and an abundance of people watching. I ordered the their eggs benedict with smoked salmon with fresh fruit. Having a benny completes the ideal brunch experience. My meal certainly didn't disappoint. Delicious and poached eggs were cooked to perfection. My friend had the egg white scramble with a side salad. She loved her meal, as well. The portions aren't overwhelming. The service was impeccable. Very attentive. Food is pricey, but this is, after all the pink palace. A complete pleasant dining experience. Highly recommended to try once, if you haven't been.

Karrina M.

Yelp
SUPER CUTEEE staff was welcoming. Went for my birthday and they gave me the cutest and delicious mouse cake. Will definitely be coming again. Thinking about having my rehearsal dinner there.

Yelp
This is a beautiful spot for brunch! We had reservations and were seated in a Cabana booth. It was our first time here, and our server was wonderful. He was so sweet and took photos for us. We had Avocado Toast and Eggs Benedict for brunch. You can't go wrong with the classics! I'd recommend to schedule some time before or after to walk around and take photos. There are plenty of aesthetic photo spots!

Yelp
First and foremost, I have to shoutout the wonderful host Rory. We were walk-ins and I let him know that I knew they were full, but we wanted to check if they happened to have any availability open up. He was SO kind to us and was able to squeeze us in at the bar, which was perfect! Thank you Rory!! The bar service was great! The service wasn't too fast or too slow. We didn't feel rushed, we enjoyed our drinks and our food! Don't knock the chicken tenders till you try them - I felt like a kid again in the best way. And portions of everything were bigger than anticipated! Everyone was chatty and welcoming and it was a gorgeous day. They bartender made sure we validated our valet ticket before we left - I thought it was so nice that they made sure to do that for us. The valet at the hotel was fabulous too! The guys were professional and welcoming. Overall it was a great experience and i will definitely be back, it's a fun place to bring out of towners on a nice day. Thanks BHH & Cabana Cafe!!

Yelp
So much rich Hollywood history in this hotel, and this restaurant is holding on to that vintage decor! We came for brunch and Everything we had we loved! Price wise you're definitely paying for the location, but the food was great! Real truffles on the truffle fries, the poke bowl was fresh and had great flavor. We had to try the McCarthy salad as that is one of their most popular items, never had I ever had a salad chopped that fine and it made it a very unique dish. I think I want all my salads that way now ha, they do it right in front of you as pictured before and after. I drank two oat milk lattes, YUM! I was happy they had a kids menu with crayons for it, we took her leftover pancakes home and they were still good 2 days later lol. I have to say the only thing I would have changed is the cookie, I don't know if it was missing salt maybe? That was the only item I found less than great. Our friends loved their tofu tacos and avo toast! Relaxing vibe here. Next time I would like to try restaurant in the hotel with counter seating. Thanks BH Hotel!!

Yelp
This is an exceptional place that offers great food, great service, reasonable prices compared with other fine dinning places and, most importantly, a great ambiance! You're eating by the most famous pool in Los Angeles: the Beverly Hills Hotel's pool and cabanas. Altogether a great experience you must try at least once especially if you are visiting LA.

Yelp
As a SOCAL native, Ive always been tempted to visit the Beverly Hills Hotel and today was my first time experiencing the "Pink Palace". I booked a 10am reservation for the Cabana Cafe for breakfast. They're reservation based only {minus the poolside bar which you can order food from} but they go by reservations via Open Table. Diego was our server and he was wonderful! He was attentive, patient and very personable. I ordered the Avocado Toast which was delicious! Also, their coffee was probably some of the best I've ever had. If you're planning to visit this hotel, be sure to reserve a table at the Cabana Cafe! And if you did park with valet, they validate ;) All in all this was such a lovely visit and I hope to return soon!

Yelp
Welcome to this iconic hotel in Beverly Hills. It's an unforgettable experience. View!!!! View!!! View!!!! Don't know why I always think of a song 'unfold' by Alina Baraz when every time I am here. Who doesn't love Beverly Hills? Especially this iconic hotel tangles those movie scenes in my memory.

Yelp
Is hotel food ever really great? Seriously, I feel like some of the best resorts in the world serve food that is sub-par at best. The Cabana Cafe is no exception. They are located within The Beverly Hills Hotel, steps from their iconic pool. Every seat offers a great view, and the interior is cute, quintessential mid century Los Angeles. The food is not good, and it is comically expensive. $20 juices, $33 Avocado Toast, $15 lattes. To be fair, my Iced Caramel Latte was incredible, and I greatly enjoyed drinking it in such a fun ambiance. Staff were all very friendly and attentive. The Lobster Omelette sounded great, but was barely edible. All egg whites and rubbery cheese, it was flavorless, helped only slightly by the salty hollandaise and tiny scoop of caviar on top. The vegetables served alongside were overcooked, and under seasoned. I would come back, but for coffee (and maybe some $25 cocktails) only.

Yelp
You are definitely paying for the location & photo opportunity!! Honestly, I'm sure a lot of people come here because it's instagrammable. I did! For a lunch photoshoot. Service was awesome! Food was just okay. I feel like you can get the same, if not tastier food at the cafe down the road for prices like $15 vs $40! I got a sunrise smoothie. Not great. $17. And the turkey club sandwich which was tasty and fresh for $39! We had a fruit plate & a margarita pizza as well. Complimentary bread came as well. Nice, pretty & expensive experience!

Yelp
This place does not need a Yelp review to help its business. It's by the pool and the most casual place to eat at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The food is actually quit good and the answer to every request is yes. Even some you didn't ask but they anticipated. I remember hotels in Hong Kong like this. It's all about the service. Reservations are needed until 2:30 after which you can walk in. If you don't eat much and don't have desert, plan on about US$100 per person.

Yelp
The place is iconic. It will bring you back to Marilyn Monroe time and the old movies. Food is okay, pricey for the taste, paying for the place more than food, it should be little bit improved. Staff was very attentive, friendly and professional. Highly recommend for casual lunch if you are in LA.

Yelp
The place had a super nice ambiance and the staff was very friendly. Unfortunately, the food quality was akin to fast food, and we even found hair in our meal. However, the staff handled the situation well by removing the charge for the food from our bill. Overall, it was an okay experience."

Yelp
Lovely area to have brunch. Food was good, nothing special. You pay for the environment and location. Great service!

Yelp
Staff in the cafe is so rude, they act as if they are better than everyone, and they just rush you off. I called in advance for a reservation or walk in accommodations and drove from Calabasas when i arrived they said I will not be seated because it is a same day reservation and they don't honor that. I was left shocked and disappointed, definitely not coming back that's for sure.

Yelp
The Cabana Cafe has been on my must-check-out brunch lists for quite some time and I'm glad I finally got to experience it. The staff was exceptionally friendly and the view? Well, it was pink! And I loved it! I ordered an iced coffee along with the banana nutella french toast. This dish was amazing but super fulfilling. My friend and I actually could have shared this dish. Another friend got the avacado toast which was my favorite out of all the dishes. There were sliced avocados on the toast versus guacamole. Yummy! Overall, the service and food was great. You definitely pay for the experience at this luxury hotel. It's worth checking out at least once!

Yelp
I mean.... I love to fine dine! But it doesn't make any sense paying 20 dollars for a fresh "squeezed" pineapple juice .... But the cabana burger is nice!!! They have a secret sauce on that thing that I love so much! It's a pretty good variety menu! Definitely a place to try during the summer! Soak up some sun and pull vibes!i

Yelp
Our meal was just too good! My boyfriend and I ordered the Eggs Benedict, Bagel & Lox and the truffle fries. Everything was so good I can't even pick a favorite. I called in a few hours early and made a reservation just to be sure and luckily when we got there it wasn't too crowed. It is located inside Beverly Hills Hotel by the pool. Everything is outdoors and under a patio so it wasn't too hot. Definitely recommend calling and ahead and making a reservation to ensure no wait time. The servers/hostesses were so attentive and sweet, food came out super fast and the whole place was super aesthetic. The food is definitely costly, but worth the price. Highly recommend coming here for the food and the experience!

Yelp
As a native of Long Island, NY I came to the Beverly Hills Hotel a nice getaway. The restaurant is situated in the heart of the infamous Beverly Hills Hotel next to the pool. The vibes are good and the service is great. The cafe was nicely decorated with a pastel color scheme. I came with a party of 4 for lunch. When it comes down to food, expect to pay for the experience. The food and drinks are good but definitely not worth the price. The average price for a meal is around $38 and drinks are around $20. For what you pay they do give you generous size portions. However, the food is somewhat basic. The place was definitely a good one time experience, but I do not see myself returning. The place is a poolside cafe so there is no need to dress up for the occasion.

Yelp
While this cafe is aesthetically cute with it's very pink and green decor, that is the only thing that is good about this cafe. The brunch was way over priced for what they served. I got a eggs benedict and it was cold and I definitely could find better brunch food in other spots.
