Google
I love to travel and find hidden gems like The Cabin. Laid-back, local dining place with unique touches. The Cabin is different from most restaurants as you order everything at front and your order will be delivered to your table by name. I highly recommend trying their spicy sauce!! Excellent flavor pizza, crispy crust and cheap beers 🍻It’s the little things in life…thank you to everyone who crafts The Cabin experience ♥️ P.S. Bring cash 💵 or use atm inside

Google
This has to be the hardest working restaurant crew I have seen in a long time. I went on a Friday night when they were busy and they were just working it. Pizza was really good and the space is an old school seafaring tavern kind of a vibe. Note: cash only, but prices were very reasonable (and they do have a cash machine). Well worth the visit!

Husband and I on vacation in Booth Bay and decided to try The Cabin pizza located in Bath, about a 20min drive from us. Private parking lot next to restaurant and parking along the street. Old vintage building, walk in, go up to the counter which doubles as the place you order and pick up your order. You grab a menu and pick a booth of your choice, make your decision and return to counter and place your order. Friendly and helpful young man answered questions and took our order. Cash only place, ATM machine available. Beer and can soft drinks to order. Big, cozy place with plenty of booths to be had. Steady stream of people picking up orders, also have delivery. Our food took 20min and was delivered to our booth piping hot with paper plates and silverware. Talk about a fantastic, delicious pizza! We ordered a large, also comes in a small. It was packed with fresh tasting cheese and items, great tasting sauce and crispy crust. YUM!! We truly pigged out and had some leftovers to take home! They have a full menu of other food options to consider. Their sandwiches looked so darn good being delivered to another booth. I highly recommend trying this place, it was that amazing!! We will be back soon and very soon!! Debbie and Bob, Mich 🍕🍺

Google
Exactly what you would want, good food at a fair price. The garden salad was a nice surprise - big, whole onion slices and tomatoes and more. Top level. I had a hot sandwich and it hit the spot. We were able to finish seating for nine on a Friday evening because they had a few big tables. Cash only - that was a wrinkle. Nice people. Happy place.

Google
the food is good for the price paid, it's not exceptional but it's damn good. the portion size is big and the prices aren't bad at all. the seating is nice along with view. one thing I did notice was some of the seats if you lean forward the whole seat moves forward so I do think it could be a little more secure.

Google
The food was amazing as usual, I only have one small frustration in that I feel like the garlic knots were much bigger in the past compared to what we got most recently. But I guess that is just shrinkflation like so many other things now days.

Valerie D

Google
The pizza was excellent. The ham Italian wasn’t too bad either except for I’ve never had an Italian on that type of bread, but it was still good staff Very nice and friendly.

Amy Hargett

Google
My husband and I are obsessed with The Cabin’s chili pizza!! The crust is perfectly thick to hold all of the chili goodness, but the chili itself is not layered too thick that it weighs down the slices. Very unique and something we never knew we needed in our lives. We also tried the pepperoni pizza and enjoyed it very much. Service here is fast and the staff is super friendly. Highly recommend if you want to try some unique and delicious pizzas!

Yelp
Can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet! Been coming here for great pizza, salads and subs since the 1990's. Great service, tasty pizza, salad. I love the cheese bread! Great deal at $5 ! Cash only! I tend to forget! They have an ATM in the restaurant in case you forget.

emma l.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious!! We had the loaded and shrimp scampi pizzas and they were outstanding. Also the salads were the perfect start. Friendly staff and the perfect atmosphere for a chill night out.

Donna P.

Yelp
I knew I wanted to try a place that's been around for 50 years ... I figured it had to be good, right? Everyone in my group got pizza and it did not disappoint. I had the shrimp pizza and tried my friend's seafood pizza. Both delicious! It did take an abnormally long time to get our order but I anticipated that when I saw the hiring sign. Since I'm not a local, I wasn't expecting cash/check only and no a/c but not a problem. I would definitely go back again!

Tina W.

Yelp
Good service good timing nice taste to the pizza could use a bit more sauce in it but that could depend on the cook of the day

T. B.

Yelp
We came to this place on one of our trips out to Maine. We live in Chicago and are surrounded by great food and restaurants. The Cabin is located in kind of an industrial area of Bath but it's worth checking out. Neat building and cozy atmosphere. We ended up getting a pizza which was surprisingly good. I guess I was not expecting a whole lot but this place is a diamond in the rough. If you are near by or traveling in the area, do yourself a favor and stop in here!

Cynthia H.

Yelp
Yummy pizza, dark dingy atmosphere glad we did take out. Not a fan of the atmosphere. Be prepared for cash only.

Myra K.

Yelp
Fun, down-home atmosphere. It's a local institution. The pizza can be a bit up and down sometimes, probably due to staff shortages, but when it's up, it's fantastic! The crust is perfect. Our favorite is a combination of Canadian bacon, spinach, and roasted garlic.Go there!

Claire J.

Yelp
I love pizza shops that are a blast from the past, and this certainly hits all those nostalgic notes I look for. The cozy nooks and booths, the dim lighting, the old historic paraphernalia on the walls. I especially love the old tables that have been carved into it for decades, with things like "Pat was here" or "Janet 1983" (do people do this anymore?). This isn't trying to be an upscale pizza shop, and you'll find most of your typical pizza toppings as options. They do a sweet and spicy (mostly just sweet) that I've never had anything similar to elsewhere (in a good way). I enjoy the plain cheese. Crust is thin but chewy, the kind that you need to sink your teeth into and rip off. Reminds me of the pizza I had growing up. No, this isn't New York pizza, and honestly, you shouldn't expect that level of pizza in Mid Coast Maine. It's pretty darn good for what's available though! A can of soda, beer, or low-end wine pair well with the offerings. I generally stick with pizza, so I can't really speak to their other menu options. This place is certainly pizza #1, everything else is there for the few people that go and don't feel like pizza. I've always had decent service (there's not much to it, you order and then they drop it off). I do agree with a lot of comments that if you are picking your pizza up you should maybe tack on 10 minutes to the wait time you are given if it is right around dinner time. This place can get crazy busy. Cash only can be annoying, but mostly if you've never been there before. Most reviews I see complaining about this are from people that are clearly stopping in while on vacation. If you live local and are a regular you know to have cash on hand, since this is pretty typical at smaller pizza and take out shops. I look forward to having my children come here as they grow up. I like to envision a birthday party for them so I can finally order that enormous pizza :)

Johnny G.

Yelp
I could have sworn that we have reviewed the Cabin but apparently not? It's an icon for local pizza in Bath and a perfect family spot for lunch or dinner. Great pizza joint ambience and a tried and true menu of salads, subs and pizza. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The whole family just lives it.

Shelby N.

Yelp
Good place! I highly recommend if you like pizza. Not too expensive and workers are nice. Place is old and looks a little dirty in some places but tables are clean and it appears that the kitchen is clean too. Don't like that it's so dim inside but the overall vibe is nice. I honestly can't say bad things about this place

Denise R.

Yelp
I love the cabin pizza. I often hear the words 'the cabin?' the response is always YES! I have not eaten inside but take out my food. It looks very local in there. I was surprised at the amount of seating they had. I've had great sandwiches and delectable pizza! Hummmmm. 'The Cabin?'

Mariah Shaw S.

Yelp
The service is horrible we waited over 40 minutes for 2 pizzas and garlic knots. When there's also only 1 hr parking. The foods good just HORRIBLE service. the people also seemed very unprofessional. i would recommend ordering online and going to the place 40 minutes later.

Shanan G.

Yelp
This wouldn't have been my first choice for takeout, but someone else I was ordering for said they made "bomb cheese steaks" and that was what she wanted... I was ordering just a salad and figured either way it would be fine. If you're not from the area, be warned that noon in the middle of the week must be BIW lunch hour. The streets were mobbed with people who would walk right in front of your car, without looking. Not the restaurant's fault, just not worth driving through for less than mediocre food. I did not realize they were cash only. I had looked at the website a few times for the menu, but I guess I didn't click on the hours where it is stated in very tiny letters that only cash/checks are accepted. When I went to the counter to pay and handed the woman my card, she looked at me like I was crazy and said "we only take cash, there's an ATM behind you" not ideal, but oh well. The bag I was handed that had the two subs in it was surprisingly light and when I asked about dressing for my salad she said she thought she threw an Italian in there.. glad I asked for some ranch! While neither of the steak subs I ordered were for me, they looked tiny and dry (both ladies I ordered lunch for barely ate any of their sandwich and seemed to be taking "polite bites" since I paid. Both of them ended up in the trash after lunch) I had ordered my salad with no olives and the lady repeated my order on the phone. Surprise, olives! Salad totally ruined for me. I feel like I ate here a couple times as a kid and remember them having good garlic knots. But I definitely won't be back to see if that is still true!

Steward S.

Yelp
Absolutely the worst service and food in a long time. Waited over a half hour for the wrong pizza to be delivered to my table. Treated like a piece of dog poop when asking status of order. This after paying the mandatory cash as no credit cards accepted. How they stay in business is amazing.

Jared S.

Yelp
I don't understand the local obsession. Pizza was fine. Cash only. :( Service was very courteous. Premises are neat.

Sherwin S.

Yelp
This pizza wasn't just HUGE it was also #Delicious! (Top 3) Friendly Staff & fun Ship Cabin theme seating areas.

Nicole G.

Yelp
We stopped off here for a quick bite after going to the beach! It's a bit interesting, you place your order up front, pay (cash only!) and take a seat. Hubby's parents got a Philly cheese steak, we got a large pizza and cheesy garlic bread. The bread was buttery, cheesy and had a good flavor. The pizza was decent but lacked ... something I suppose flavor. The cheesesteak was good but very greasy and was dripping quite a bit, making a mess of grease and fallen sandwich contents. I would stop here again but my hubby wasn't a huge fan and couldn't really place what he didn't like about the pizza.

Roberta M.

Yelp
This place is a gem for pizza!! We make it a point to stop and bring pizza home because it has been consistently great! The spaghetti sauce is not as flavorful as it could be and needs less thickness!

Caitlin M.

Yelp
Great pizza for Maine. Docked a star because it's cash only and a little pricey for pizza. But from a born-and-bred Jersey girl, the best pizza around.

Andrew M.

Yelp
I ordered a Greek pizza. The crust was very pale and chewy. For 25$ I expected better a pizza. I haven't been in a year and I remembered it being better than it was, maybe there was a change in the kitchen.

Kaitie S.

Yelp
Ordered delivery yesterday for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised by how good my gluten free wraps were! Best blt I have had ever.

Lia K.

Yelp
Recently got take out from the Cabin. They have good service and a nice decor. But I thought the pizza was alright - would probably go back again!

Bob M.

Yelp
Some of the best pizza in Maine and a fun cozy interior. But they don't take cards because their convenience is more important than yours?

David J.

Yelp
The Cabin in downtown Bath, is a weird, unique gem. The restaurant is covered in dark wood, from floor to ceiling. Walking around in this place, you would swear you are in the cabin of a ship. There are different rooms and little alcoves you can enjoy your pizza or pasta in. Order your food at the counter. Beer and wine is sold here. There are many bottles of beer, local craft brews, domestic beers, some cider, and wine. There are two selections of beer on tap. The pizza is one of the closest I have found in this state, to NY style. The pizza is good, and roof of your mouth burning hot when you take that first bite. My wife highly recommends the white, shrimp scampi pizza. They have good food here. The incredible thing they have is a manhole cover pizza. It is as it sounds, it is the size of a manhole. This can feed 6-8 people. Last time we were there with 5, we had pizza left over. A few things to know. They are cash only, and they do have an ATM if you forget. There is a large shipyard, BIW, across the street, I recommend steering clear of here at lunch, or, getting there early between 11:30 and 12:00, during the weekdays. It will be inundated with an inordinate amount of people. I have been there many times at lunch. and it gets crazy.

Alex G.

Yelp
Cozy, dark pizza and pasta joint - with a big time need for AC (management should consider window AC units in the summer; it gets a little stifling at times). They do, however, have outdoor seating, but then you've got the bug issues. Oh well! The food however, is really good! The dough knots in garlic were tasty, served with a side of their thick red sauce. Next time I'll ask for a bit more garlic and oil on it. Salad was super crisp, with high quality ingredients - loved it! The pizza was really top notch; no oil on the paper plates, the sign of high quality cheese. The crust is thin and perfectly crunchy, absolutely dead on correct for a pizza. We all loved it (kids too) and we will absolutely be back!

Patricia M.

Yelp
My husband and istopped here yesterday. We had had many wonderful pizza there years ago but today we stopped late afternoon thought we'd get a couple subs and drive down the street and watch the river. We ordered a chicken pan sub and a cheese steak sub. What a huge disappointment!. My first connect as my husband handed me the bag... it's so light. It weighed nothing. Then we opened the subs. The chicken pan was white meat chicken but bit breaded and there was red sauce but NO CHEESE. DON'T ALL PARM SUBS HAVE CHEESE? IT WAS PRETTY TASTELESS. The cheese steak was alittle better but rather meager and black burnt pieces in it as if they cleaned off the grill and the beef was tough. I know it's covid, but there was no excuse for this poor quality. Very disappointed. Won't be returning.

Aleksandr C.

Yelp
Great place for lunch. Typical American food. Burgers, subs, pizza. Good quality produce. Always get the cabin club which has turkey, roast beef, bacon, provolone cheese, letuce, tomatoes, onions, and mayo. Tried the chicken bomb which was really good as well. Friendly staff and clean establishment.

Lisa P.

Yelp
Every time I'm in town I make a point of visiting/ordering from The Cabin. My faves: loaded steak sandwich, pizza, dough knots, and their pizza. My brother always gets the pastrami or the Alfredo. Growing up in Maine and only getting to enjoy this place 1-2 times per year is a treat!!!

Marc G.

Yelp
I have been ordering take-away from here for years now and have never been disappointed. Best pizza in Maine by far.

Secpac58chichi ..

Yelp
The pizza is pretty good - delivery people are great - guys taking the order and making the pizza need to pay more attention - sometimes they make the wrong pizza and deliver the wrong pizza (wrong toppings)

Britt S.

Yelp
Don't let the"hole-in-the-wall" appearance fool you. It has great food, a large selection, and great ambiance. This place has been here since 1973. Their subs are huge along with the pizzas.

Todd R.

Yelp
Ok, maybe I am missing something but this place is not nearly as good as I remember it years ago. Don't get me wrong, it still serves a decent pizza but I was not overwhelmed. My father and I ordered a large pizza with hot sausage and found it rather flavorless which is hard to believe considering the topping. The crust was OK if not a little overdone. Others in our party said their pizza was good but nothing special. The service was a tad slow which was disappointing on a night where the restaurant was 90% empty. Years ago my wife and I shared a shrimp pizza that was one of the best we have ever eaten. Since then we have found the experience average at best.

Holly A.

Yelp
Husband loves it here! Pizza place with some good appetizers. Casual, rustic decor, basically self serve (which is why it is 4 stars for me).

Rikki M.

Yelp
We popped in for a cocktail here and discovered it's a beer and wine sort of spot. No problem!! We can change plans on a dime;) we didn't have the pizza but it look oh-so-good from what I was spying on with the other customers. The staff is cool and the place has a nice vibe to it. I'd go back and try the good this time!

Kurt J.

Yelp
The Cabin has good pizza. I do believe this place is more hype than substance but that's okay. The Carnivore is the route to go if you ask me. Also, the garlic knots are worth getting. The Cabin doesn't accept credit or debit cards, which I think is a big fault.

Jasen F.

Yelp
I can't imagine finding better pizza anywhere in Maine. If you're in Bath and the thought of another lobster roll makes you ill, head to the Cabin. The pizza is tasty and well priced. Crispy, crispy crust and tasty toppings. Great local feel (due to being down the street from Bath Ironworks and next door to the Navy buildings), friendly staff, and a cash only policy makes The Cabin is a place you want to throw an extra dollar or two in the tip jar, especially on a chilly and rainy afternoon or afternoon in downtown Bath. Ugh!

Peter M.

Yelp
We had heard about heard about the pizza at the Cabin for several years and made the short trip over to Bath to check it out. Our immediate interaction only compounded our theory on Small town Maine restaurants, if you're not local don't come in! A very cold welcome and a below average pizza that was dry and over cooked was a shock. The crust was tasteless and resembled cardboard in texture and flavor. Toppings and sauce were sparse also. We have a local convenience store that blows the doors off of this pizza.

Crystal H.

Yelp
We had the best take out pizza ever. We arrived late at the Residence Inn after a long drive and gave The Cabin a try. The shrimp scampi pizza was awesome. Also had subs which did not disappoint. Everything was hot and perfect all in half an hour. Thank you

Jacqueline Ravelle M.

Yelp
Been here many times. Food is good but tends to be overly greasy. Sometimes the noodles are dry or overcooked. Service is a bit lacking. Not that friendly. It's a go to the counter to order and get your food kind of place. They are always busy it seems so I guess that's the reason for the lack of friendliness..although I don't think that's a good excuse. It is mostly good food though. Price is a little high for the service and food though.

Kris L.

Yelp
Its 2018 a cash only business who puts an atm next to the register has no place in my restaurant rotation. Time to invest in a credit card solution

Mark E.

Yelp
I first visited the Cabin in the mid '70s and every summer from then through 1980, as I was working at a summer camp in the area. A few years later I drove to Maine from Maryland- and back again - just for the pizza. It was that memorable. This summer my family will visit Maine for the first time in over 20 years. The Cabin will not be missed. "Nuff said.

David C.

Yelp
I can still remember the first time I ate at the Cabin restaurant in the mid 1980's. It was a Friday night, and the place was packed with patrons all waiting impatiently for there turn to order at the counter. Today the cabin looks and feels like it did almost 30 yrs ago, with a couple changes they added a ATM due to the fact they still don't accept credit or debt, they took out the cigarette machine, and they still don't have a/c. The food however still tastes like it did almost 30 yrs ago, awesome ! I still visit the cabin at least once a week for a pepperoni, and mushroom pizza, and my wife always gets the super chicken sub. If in town it's a must.

Tiffany B.

Yelp
Bad service. I ordered over the phone, was told 20 minutes, gave my name and all. Got there, they hadn't made it, nor had a ticket. I was asked to wait 8-10 minutes. Okay. Another 20 minutes later, I finally get my pizza. Open the box, it's burnt. The only reason why I rated it a two and not a one is because it use to be a wonderful place to go and eat, but apparently the service is suffering. So much for trying to promote success in a small business rather than larger places.

Rebecca A.

Yelp
This place was a neat find on yelp and not very far from home. I love the atmosphere they created, with wooden high back benches and lots of lantern style lighting. The temperature was a bit too warm, but they did have some fans The staff were quick to answer questions about the menu. There is plenty of seating and the meals will be served to your table, but all orders are placed at the counter. They also kept up with the high demand for takeout and delivery. They are a cash or check only business. They offer lots of subs, Italian fare, beer, wine and salad. They also don't have a fryalator, so all apps are premade and baked to crispness. We got two small pizzas, the shrimp alfredo and the sweet and spicy with chicken and pineapple. They hand spin all the dough and possibly make it there. It was soft and moist with a touch of crunchy and sweetness. The shrimp pizza was too crispy for my liking, to which I assume they had to ensure the shrimp were well cooked. The shrimp pizza had a delightful creamy and garlicy sauce, but not nearly enough shrimp as I would like. The sweet and spicy sauce pizza was out of this world. It was well balanced and my new favorite.

Kayla R.

Yelp
Best food ever. One of my favorite places. Been a loyal customer for 15 years now. White pizza is the best. Dough knots are amazing. Spaghetti is to die for. And if you don't like meatballs or sausage, like me, you can get a decent portion of spaghetti, sauce and garlic bread for $5.00. I almost always have to take a to go box home. I see people complaining about cash only. Credit card machines are a HUGE cost for businesses. They advertise everywhere that they are cash only and offer an ATM on site. Everyone that regularly goes here knows that they need to bring cash. It clearly doesn't deter people from going here. On any given Friday or Saturday night and there's a line out the door. If you want good, simple italian food and a pitcher of beer. You won't be disappointed. The only warning I would give is that they have no deep fryer so all of their appetizers are oven baked. They offer French fries, onion rings, chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, etc..but they don't get crispy like I like them so I tend to not order these things. Go here for the pizza and pasta.

Josh J.

Yelp
I was vacationing in the area and my kids were craving pizza one day, so we tried this place based on the positive reviews. The pizza is alright. The crust is thinner than your basic franchise pizza shops, but not crispy. The sauce was good also. The chicken fingers were ok also, but came out with bbq dipping sauce. I would prefer blue cheese or ranch. The real highlight was the dough knots. They came in a bath of olive oil and minced garlic with a tasty bowl of sauce to dip in. My kids loved them and so did I! They don't take credit card, which I understand, but come on...I don't care that you have an ATM for my convenience. The ordering process is unconventional....you walk in and order what you want and pay for it and then go grab a seat. For the out of towner with kids who might have been at the beach all day in the sun, it makes for a complicated process. Unfortunately, a process that I don't intend to go through again when I'm in town.

Amber M.

Yelp
The pizza here is tasty and the restaurant itself is cozy offering a courtyard of outdoor picnic tables or high backed booths inside. We ate outside on a gorgeous summer evening and everyone agreed the food was excellent. As other reviews have noted: this place is cash only and does not offer table service, in that you place your order at the register and pay there, but they do bring the food out to you. They also serve alcohol and have a decent selection of bottled beers in addition to soft drinks. We ordered a cheese pizza for the kids and split a greek pizza with white sauce as well as a blt sub. One thing worth noting, the blt was not made with bacon, but rather some kind of ham. It was still good, just not what I was expecting. We loved the atmosphere and the food so will definitely be back.

Adria K.

Yelp
My husband loves their pizza more than any other in the area. I agree (although they're a little saucy for me). Their dough knots are amazing, and I love their shaved chicken sandwiches with peppers and onions. A great local place with reasonable prices!

Robin G.

Yelp
Got food delivered to local hotel. Food was undesirable. Steak and cheese was chewy and hardly any cheese and needed salt. Chicken sandwich- they forgot the cheese! Chicken in chicken parm dinner was unidentifiable. Shall I go on? No!

Helen D.

Yelp
Many years ago we used to live about 20 miles away and loved going to The Cabin. I loved the atmosphere and found no problem with their ordering system. Nothing has changed in 30 years We recently bought a vacation home in Wiscasset and have returned twice recently to the Cabin. This is still THE BEST PIZZA Ever in my opinion. However I have learned Pizza is the one food that is really hard to recommend , everyone has such different opinions. My husband, a real foodie, does not even like Pizza but he loves this Pizza. We do not get there often enough to try the other menu items so I have no opinion on those. Do not be put off by the negative reviews, Good Pizza is very subjective and this is worth a try. I DO agree it tastes nothing like the pizza you can get at your local gas station /convenience store, if that is yardstick you measure by ;D
