The 36 Essential Indianapolis Restaurants

"Enjoy a cup of afternoon tea and a slice of cake at one of the most Instagrammable places in Indianapolis. The Cake Bake Shop serves elegant cakes, pies, and pastries, as well as a full menu with salads, sandwiches, burgers with pomme frites, crab cakes, and a variety of coffee and tea options. The Carmel location, decked out like a palace with all-white everything and chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, is great for a special occasion or just an afternoon pick-me-up. The Cake Bake Shop in Carmel is still a beautiful place, and visually it continues to be one of its strongest points. The atmosphere is charming and definitely part of the appeal, especially for first-time visitors. That said, the overall experience feels average these days. Service is fine but unremarkable, and the food is decent without really standing out. A noticeable detail is that arugula salad seems to come with almost everything, and unfortunately, it’s not the best version of it. The desserts remain the highlight and are still very good—arguably the main reason to come here. However, it feels like some of the small details that once made this place truly memorable have been lost over time. For a first visit or a date, it can still work well thanks to the ambiance. But after multiple visits over the years, the little shortcomings become more noticeable, and the experience doesn’t feel quite the same anymore.

Brought our daughter here for her 5th Birthday! Everyone was so nice. The service was great. We loved all the glitter and decor. Soup was amazing!! Recommend.

Very beautiful, feels like a Pinterest board and a little girls fairy dream all mixed into one! The staff was exceptional and played into the whimsy of the shop. It was extremely busy and reservations are a must unless you are prepared to wait 2+ hours. The prices are very high (a bit too much in my opinion) but you are also paying for the experience, which a I throughoy enjoyed. I probably won't ever go for a whole meal but its a great place to go share dessert.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Whimsical Luxury Experience – Straight Out of a Fairytale! Cake Bake is truly a hidden gem — a luxury bakery and restaurant that feels like stepping into an elegant dream. The moment you walk inside, you’re transported to what feels like a real-life anime café straight out of “Maid Sama” — refined, enchanting, and full of charm. The atmosphere is a perfect blend of Parisian elegance and whimsical fantasy, with every corner beautifully curated down to the finest detail. The staff are dressed impeccably, their presentation and warmth making you feel as if you’ve entered a private world of grace and hospitality. Each dessert looks like a piece of art, and the flavors are just as extraordinary — rich, delicate, and unforgettable. From the glittering chandeliers to the pastel tones and floral touches, Cake Bake is more than a restaurant; it’s an experience of luxury, nostalgia, and imagination. It’s the kind of place you almost don’t want to tell anyone about — because it feels like a beautiful secret meant only for those lucky enough to discover it.

Google
Absolutely love this place! This is my go to every year whether it’s for birthdays, holidays, or just to have a girly date. The aesthetic of this place is beautiful, service is always great, and the food is good! For it being a bakery they have a great menu. Last night I went with my mom and sister and our bartender was Jasa, she was very kind, helpful, and funny, she matched our energy for sure! Thank you jasa for a great night at the bar at cake bake! She made us a delicious margarita, espresso martini, white sangria, gingerbread martini, and a banana fosters! They were all 10/10!! Also their chicken velvet soup is to die for, so creamy and delicious.

Google
Seriously the best food I've had! We went at Christmas and the place was decked out in Crystal and flocking and polar bears and sleighs! If you want the complete package make a reservation and go! (We tried going for dinner the night before but there was a private Santa party) Not only did we eat a piece of cake there but we each bright one home to share with our families. All I can say is go! Get pampered for a couple hours ...you won't be disappointed

Google
What a wonderful experience for my wife and toddler. Walking up to Cake Bake just sets a visual tone for a special experience. My son had so much fun looking at the Christmas decorations and even more fun looking at all the beautiful baked goods. The creme rules latte my wife got was wonderful. I loved the walnut brownie warmed up with ice cream. Must visit place

Google
Had the absolute BEST experience at what felt like a Christmas wonderland! The food was amazing, the decorations were magical, and the service was remarkable. Lana was the perfect addition to our girls trip - her positive energy was contagious and each recommendation she made was spot on! Hope to see everyone next year. This year was our 50s era theme. Next year... 🤔 💭 😉

Yelp
Cake Bake in Carmel Indiana is hands down one of my favorite spots. The avocado stack is absolutely fantastic. Creamy avocado with tangy goat cheese served on toasted baguette is fresh and delicious. Every bite is so satisfying. The crabcakes are another highlight. They are crispy on the outside and tender and flavorful on the inside. For dessert the macaroons and the peanut butter chocolate pie are my favorites. They are rich indulgent and the perfect way to end the meal. It's also nice to top off the evening with a pot of tea, especially if you're catching up with friends. The atmosphere is just as amazing as the food. The space is beautifully decorated with thoughtful seasonal touches that make it feel warm and inviting. Every visit feels special. Cake Bake is perfect for date nights, meeting friends, or just treating yourself to an amazing meal. I cannot recommend it enough.

Yelp
I'm from Chicago and I was in Carmel staying at The Carmichael Hotel. Four people mentioned Cake Bake so I decided to walk over. The restaurant is nice and the bakery is beautiful. The server at the door that greeted me wasn't nice but the young gentleman and the young lady in the bakery were very fun, helpful and friendly. The macaroons were good but I didn't like the pie. I was disappointed because it looks so delicious. It didn't taste lime enough and the cream on top was gross. Overall, the whimsical feel of the place was really cool. I would give it a second shot and try something else. No more key lime.

Yelp
A friend highly recommended the Cake Bake Shop so we made reservations when in the area. It was easy online, but not a lot of time slot options for a table of four. The restaurant is decorated beautifully with sparkling lights, and a white Christmas theme throughout including trees and white bears. It feels very fancy, but there is no dress code. When we arrived we were immediately greeted and sat at a table facing the shops. Even though the online reservation system was full, the restaurant was mostly empty when we arrived at 5:45 PM. Our server was extremely sweet and started us off with some recommendations for drinks. Our kids ordered the s'mores hot chocolate and we split a bottle of the signature rose sparkling wine, bottled in France. The s'mores hot chocolate had melted marshmallow, but the hot chocolate itself wasn't very hot. The sparking rose was very good, but a bit expensive at $87. Next we ordered dinner - my daughter and I had the pick two option $20, she chose the 1/2 chicken salad sandwich on croissant and lemon Cesar salad. I had the 1/2 turkey & cheese sandwich and French onion soup. The options were light and tasty, but there wasn't anything super extraordinary about them. I will mention, the kids menu items had glitter on everything! The French fries, sandwich, etc! It was a nice touch that the girls really enjoyed. Finally dessert, my daughter had the confetti white cake - again sprinkled with glitter and a slight almond flavor. She loved every bite! Overall we had a simple light meal and some fun desserts. A must visit if you have children that would enjoy a fun, Christmasy experience.

Yelp
Loved it, Loved it, Loved it. I went here for a work event. They sat us in a semi-private room - we were the only ones in there, but others could see us and we could see others. It was remarkable. The dinner was the perfect savory. The desserts were excellent. And the drinks were delicious. The staff were very professional and pleasant. They were also very helpful with answers to our questions and perfect suggestions. The atmosphere in the restaurant is romantic, fun, and unique. I can hardly wait to take my wife back here!

Yelp
Dined at Cake Bake Shop for dinner for my friend's bachelorette! We made a reservation, but we did not get seated until an hour after our reserved time. This definitely messed with our post-dinner plans! I am not sure why there was such a delay, but the server team comped two of our appetizers without us even asking to make up for the wait. It was the least they could do honestly. The inside of the restaurant is definitely gorgeous. We were sat near the rotating centerpiece of the room, which was fun to see all the various pieces of decor. We were too full for cake -- which I get is the whole point. So I'll have to come back to try a slice! For dinner, we had a big group and shared the truffle fries (of course) and the burrata. The highlight was the burrata... so good. For my entree, I had the Chicken Piccata. It was mid -- I wanted more flavor, more capers, maybe? Not sure what it was missing, but felt a little bland. The best was having a taste of my sister's soup -- the Chicken Velvet soup. It's really as good as everyone says. Next time, I'd just get that and a slice of cake ha!

Yelp
Super spot in the main street of Carmel. Desserts and pantries are the main attraction with great decor and kind attention. Loved the walnut brownie, while the chocolate cookies were not so great. Would definitely like to comeback to try their lemon pies.

Yelp
First time at this location but not my first time at the Cake bake shop. This was my first time having breakfast here. I had the crab cake Benedict (sauce on the side) and it was perfect!! I also had two frozen peach Bellinis and they were very good (but it was smoldering hot) which is why I had two frozen drinks. My friend made reservations for us for her bday months in advance. However, we were seated on the smoldering hot patio. There was no AIR! They did have some fans out there that blew the hot air around. Obviously we were dressed up and just stuck sweating and melting in the humidity. While the heat is out of their control, they need to improve the ventilation or close the patio on such humid days. The service was decent. Slow but decent. The server was overly energetic. The desserts are not worth it to me. I tried the lemon blueberry cake and it's about $18 for a slice. The cake is very spongy and just did not enjoy it. I ended up tossing it after a bite. My kids wouldn't even eat it. I will skip dessert next time.

Yelp
I will start by saying that this is more of a special occasion location, as it is a little expensive. I also recommend making a reservation if you are going during peak times (weekends, holidays, summer). The quiche was delightful - it was fluffy, the dough was flaky, and all of it melted in your mouth. The arugula salad that came with it was also delicious. The millionaire cake and carrot cake were divine. I recommend both. The bumblebee latte was good, but the blueberry white mocha I got was not good at all - no flavor. Our experience was very nice, our waitress Natalie was very sweet and made us feel very welcome. I highly recommend this for a girls' brunch or to treat that little girl in your life - she will feel so special.

Yelp
I've heard about this place for years and finally stopped in for an after dinner treat. When you walk in it truly feels like you've been whisked to a magical land. It completely makes sense why they have a location at Disney, the vibe totally fits their aesthetic. The food is just straight up beautiful and delightful for a girls trip or with your significant other. If you come here be prepared to spend some moolah but on a positive note, one slice of cake was enough for four of us so it goes a long way! This is definitely a special occasion kind of place and less somewhere to frequent on the regular but hey, if you have the bucks and a fast metabolism, go nuts!

Yelp
I've been to this Cake Bake location twice and had a lovely experience both times. Not only was the food and desserts amazing, but the staff is so kind and the ambiance cannot be beat. There is more and more parking available each time I'm in the area which is also a lovely surprise. Great place for a girls brunch!

Yelp
It's my birthday so I decided to try out The Cake Bake Shop for lunch with friends and we were excited as soon as we arrived! This location is gorgeous and spacious, with the most gorgeous decor! I tried the Frozen Bellini and decided to try the pick two, the Chicken Velvet soup and the Chicken Croissant sandwich and grabbed a slice of the Pixie Fetti cake to go. Darby was a sweet server, very friendly. The reason I'm giving 4 stars. After my friend told me she would be in town after all, I tried modifying my reservation with 1 more person but I was advised they were booked up. Once we were sat we saw a few open tables and chairs, a family of 4 were sitting next to us at a table for 6. It just didn't seem fair.

Yelp
We ordered a various types of cakes to figure out what we wanted for my husband's milestone birthday. You can order by the slice at the bakery. If you want to place an order they will need at least 48 hours and more time for delivery. Everything is made from scratch. The price point is high so it's a special occasion place for us. They host lots of birthday and tea time. The decor is amazing lots of pink so more on girly side. There is also a gift shop which has cute items while you wait for your slice. The Cake Bake Shop offers seasonal cakes so we were able try Hummingbird cake. Overall, the cakes are amazing and the Cake Bake Shop is definitely worth trying.

Yelp
I really have no words about this place! The menu looked amazing and very reasonably priced as well. But more than that I would say the aesthetic of the place was unbelievable! It's like a place you would want to host a wedding by bus just booking out the whole place as possible and ordering food from the menu itself because everything looked lovely. Husband and I just went there to get some desserts and were pleasantly surprised. Got that famous chocolate cake (GWENDOLYN'S FAMOUS EARLS COURT CHOCOLATE CAKE) and oh my goodness I can totally see why it is so famous. A rich chocolatey cake. That's not too sweet but just proper rich and chocolatey. Very decadent and very hard to stop eating after just a few spoonfuls. Quite a dangerously good cake if I may say! We also got one of those shortbread crumb bars (Blackberry Jam Bar) because it just looked so pretty with the glitter on top. Even this was quite lovely and flavorful.

Yelp
If you are in Carmel, IN, you have to visit cake bake shop. Decoration is whimsical, just gorgeous. Great place for birthdays, girls night out, and first date. Velvet cake was out of this world, Icing was amazing. Must visit.

Yelp
Everyone deserves glitter wishes (IYKYK) on their birthday! Red Velvet for the birthday girl and Espresso for me. The salmon sandwich was a little unusual but surprisingly tasty. Next time, though, I think I'll skip the bun. ;D

Yelp
This was such a fairy tale experience. We made a reservation for my birthday and I'm glad we did. The service is phenomenal, the outfits are adorable, and the aesthetic is magical. This place is like what the inside of my imagination looks like. All of the food was delicious ! I don't know how the pasta was made on the piccata, but it was the most delicious pasta I've ever had. Capers, onion, and squeeze of lemon. The cake was very soft and the icing was smooth. The pink lady was what I consider zippy. Very citrus. Super boozy. And refreshing ! Would definitely come back.
google avatar

Yelp
This has got to be my favorite restaurant in Indianapolis and I tell everyone to go here at least once! We went here recently for a birthday celebration and it blew us all away. The staff were very kind and accommodating whenever we needed something. The food was amazing as it always is. I ordered the choose two with half of a French ham and Brie as well as the chicken velvet soup. That soup is phenomenal! Actually life changing! The sandwich was a little sub-par in comparison, it's just meat and cheese on bread. We also got a slice of cake that we shared for dessert. We left happy and full. You must try The Cake Bake Shop!
google avatar

Yelp
Oh My God! it is so cute. Insta worthy. And the cake is OMG it is beyond that like a beyond OMG ! The fries is amazing like you could not find these amazing fries anywhere else. It is crispy is delicious. It is really good. The service is absolutely fantastic everyone so nice everyone's very coordinated .

Yelp
I ate most of it before I remembered to take the picture... but it was really good! I didn't enjoy the ratio of toppings to bread, but it was delicious overall!

Yelp
We had a reservation for lunch, but still had to wait for a table, but it wasn't too long. It looks like the prefect spot for a tea party or bridal shower, with the white decor, greenery, flowers and lighting. The servers were beige colored suits with pink accents and look like they are in a barbershop quartet. The ladies bathroom was a bit messy and needed to be serviced more frequently as the trash was overflowing and the toilet paper rolls were empty. The chicken salad sandwich had a great flavor except the grapes were a bit mushy. Also the grapes were mushy in the fruit salad, We ordered 4 slices of cake to go, and they were about $15 to $18 a slice, so very pricey. They were good but not amazing, which you would expect for a place called the cake bake shop. Great atmosphere, but be prepared for the higher prices.

Yelp
My last review was way back in 2019 when they had just opened. Since then, I had eaten here twice when each time had some "extra" put on my credit card on top of an already generous tip. (Long story ... called several times etc, but no one really cared or even apoloigzed about it ...) Once could be a mistake, two seemed a pattern. I never wrote about it as a review, although I have warned some friends, just use cash. So basically I do not care to come here anymore. My husband, however, loves the red velvet cake. And I'm a sucker for fun decor. So, we were in the area, in the mood for dessert, and decided to stop in. (And are paying in cash, ha!) And time has gone by (employees change), so I thought, yes, let's do it! Went inside -- a Friday night, but their patio and inside did not look that busy; at least 60% of the tables were unoccupied. At the hostess desk, we greeted the young person behind the counter and said we did not have reservations, but just wanted coffee and dessert. The poor girl had to go "see if that is ok and if there is room." *sigh.* (Can I say also, we have been here before, were dressed appropriately for a nice evening out, having just come from another event, and do not need to be treated like street urchin riff raff in Carmel, ha! But that is the vibe here, as has been on other occasions, so it is what it is.) Eventually she came out and yes, we could be seated. We ordered a marcaron, a slice of red velvet cake (comes complete with the pixie dust edible glitter) , and a french press for two. Then waited a fairly long while to be served, but whatever. We sat back and relaxed. Our server was sweet and pleasant, if not very attentive. Is the place gorgeous? Absolutely. No one does a theme as well as they do, and the change seasonally so it is always fun and beautiful, a veritable wonderland. And the red velvet cake is a yum. So the experience can be lovely, and pretentiousness can be fun, just here it is always a little "ick." Gorgeous venue, decent food, but I never leave feeling like I want to go back anytime soon, when there are so many other places to enjoy. Sigh, because I really just wish that it would be a great experience to match the wonder of the decor and the beauty of the food -- then it truly would be magical. #ReviewsByRL

Yelp
Beautiful fairytale of a bakery, restaurant, and bar. Seriously dreamy and special; what a wonderful treat to have in Carmel! I have pre-ordered and picked up the key lime pie and the apple pie, both heavenly. I like to stop in when I'm in town for a slice of cake or brownie or macarons. The only quip is the girls working the to-go counter could be a little more pleasant and attentive, at times. However, today I had a great interaction with hostess Larine, who was so delightful and excited to talk about her favorites on their impressive menu. Try Cake Bake for lunch or treat for a truly unique experience.

Yelp
The staff is so welcoming. This is truly one of the best places to dine in the greater Indy area. They are on point, polite and incredibly kind. It's stunning details make it wonderful to sit and enjoy the most thought out menu for both food and beverage. The menu is for every season and every occasion. Not to mention take a peek around and look at all the details that make it ever so glam and inviting ! You will LOVE The Cake bake and its staff, food, and overall hospitality.

Yelp
The food was delicious and large portions. Our server Jacob was amazing. He made our dinner experience very memorable. If you go make sure to ask for him.

Yelp
The shop and the cake itself is absolutely beautiful. Presentation is five star, but one of the flavors of cake (Pixiefetti) that we bought was really dry. For the price of the cake I would expect it to be moist and fabulous every time. There's so many variety of flavors and the place is just so neat though that we will return when in town.

S Y.

Yelp
The restaurant was stunning. However, it was our first time to visit. we were with my little granddaughter. There was snow on the ground and it was a slower evening. We ask a few question about the process of ordering and reserving a table. One of the ladies said we definitely could be seated if we would like but we had others waiting on us, so we bought food at the counter. After purchasing $40 worth of cake and other goodies, I approached the ladies (a different girl) and ask for a table. She said she typically didn't seat people who bought from the counter. So on this cold, snowy evening, with a restaurant full of empty tables, we ate our $40 cake in the cold, out side the main doors. There was tables on the exterior but they were covered with snow as well. I'm very disappointed with the inconsiderate staff. Also, the cake was not fresh. It was dry. $16 per slice.

Yelp
My family (sisters and mom) always love the cake bake shop for some girl time! We didn't make a reservation, but decided on a whim to stop by. We didn't think it'd be too busy, but we were surprised there was an hour and a half wait. Luckily, the bar was open so we grabbed those seats! Still a great experience as always! We loved being at the bar, as we got constant service for whatever we needed and the waitress was fantastic. A great time!

Yelp
Visited here for the first time, and left quite happy and full! Yes, the food is pricey, but the portions are big and the service is great; not to mention the whole vibe of the place is "luxurious". We got the Baked Fontina Cheese appetizer, the Broccoli Quiche, and French Ham and Brie Sandwich. The Baked Fontina was so delicious. The cheese was so melty and the bread was somehow soft yet crunchy and paired perfectly with the nutty cheese. The Broccoli Quiche was gigantic! And yet it was cooked to perfection. The top was the perfect brunt that you want and the middle was so creamy and fluffy, and the crust was flaky. If we hadn't had the Baked Fontina, I could have eaten the whole thing. I was told the ham sandwich was really good, and the truffle pomme frites as the side were so yummy. They were seasoned really well and I didn't even need the ketchup or aioli that comes with the plate. I had an Old Fashioned cocktail and a Winter Spice latte, and while they were not the star of the meal, they certainly didn't detract from it. Both were simply well-made drinks. We got a slice of cake to go, and it was so tasty. Some of the best cake I've ever had. Light and fluffy and the icing is so creamy. The service did stand out to us as phenomenal. Our server anticipated basically our every need before we even knew. She offered to get us more bread with our appetizer before we inevitably ran out, and she asked if I wanted more vinaigrette before I realized I did need more. The whole look and vibe of the place is fancy and decadence. It's definitely somewhere I want to return to when I feel like indulging or it's a special occasion.

Yelp
We (party of 7) had reservations, but were seated in the outdoor porch area, which we did not request; windows wide open - it was 86 degrees! We were miserable. The food and drinks were good, not spectacular, but overpriced. They were very sweet to our granddaughter, and she enjoyed herself, which I appreciate. But I can't imagine I'd ever want to return.

Yelp
When I crave chocolate I need the best chocolate and no doubt Cake Bake shop has the best array of desserts with the premium chocolate flavor. The earl chocolate cake lived up to the hype. Nice chocolaty, not overpowering but so delicious. The size was huge! For those unhappy with $17 per slice, the size is enough to serve 3 people and that brings the cost down to $6. Unless one doesn't prefer sharing! But yes try and reserve and just enjoy the fairy tale place!

Yelp
Fantastic birthday experience! The ambiance was so beautiful and warming on such a cold day. We celebrated my birthday and the service was phenomenal and food was amazing! Such a special treat to spend time here with my family. The truffle fries were a big hit and my burger was amazing. Lots of great other options for food and drinks. We were so full we didn't even get a chance to enjoy the desserts, but I would love to come back and order some cake and coffee! Make a visit, you will not be disappointed!

Yelp
I was invited by a friend to Cake Bake for my first time. It was a lovely place and we first went to the bakery to buy a few things before we were seated. Our table for 2 was in the back of the restaurant, in the server traffic flow in and out of the kitchen, and anyone would have been disappointed. Why even have that table there? It diminishes the experience. Luckily, my friend changed seats or I would have looked at the wall and the bathroom for an hour. When we politely asked if there was another table available, we were treated cooly by the reception staff and told that was the only table available. My friend made the reservation weeks ago. There were tables available but they were reserved for people who were coming...we were there. It was disappointing to be treated like that and have the worst table in the restaurant. The food was good, the cake was delicious, but the high point was our sweet and vivacious server Maddy. She saved the day! I would definitely put her as a greeter, she has such a nice personality!

Yelp
My sister & I made a trip to The Cake Bake Shop for my birthday and it was beyond amazing. I truly felt like a queen. From the moment you walk in it's like pastel pink heaven. The atmosphere is magical. Finding the words to explain the feels we had....trust me if you wanna feel like royalty just make reservations and go. The staff were friendly and smiling and just beautiful. Their uniforms were gorgeous. Everywhere you look is just beautiful. Our table had a special welcome just for me. I looked across the table at my sister and had tears in my eyes I was so happy. You can make reservations for lunch, brunch, dinner and also afternoon tea which we plan to do for my niece's birthday in September. I ordered the Velvet Chicken Soup which literally felt like velvet on the tongue. It was the most flavorful soup and I just closed my eyes and savored every drop. I also ordered the Blackberry Avocado Salad which was very nice. The soup was the star. I honestly ate so much I could only take a bite of the blueberry lemon cake. The cake was beautiful and when I say TART....that lemon curd is on point y'all. It was divine. I had to get the kids each a piece of cake. Red Velvet was divine and the Gwendolyn's Famous Earl's Court Chocolate Cake which was phenomenal. I can't wait to go back. It is definitely a memory I will cherish forever.

Yelp
We chose to start our bachelorette party day with brunch at Cake Bake Carmel and it truly never disappoints to be an enchanting experience. Our bride felt the love and excitement of her day.

Yelp
Pricey menu. They have the cutest desserts and decor. I normally visit for a treat. I look forward to eating there this weekend

Yelp
Cake Bake is a good place for special occasions. They are adding a location in Disney Springs (we saw it under construction this spring). The food is good and the experience is better! My only critique is the cocktails are over priced and under-quality for that price point. There is so much that can be done with craft cocktails these days, so an upgrade here and a crystal clear ice program (using proper insulated cooler molds) would be an excellent tweak and validate the desired price point

Yelp
I went to for my Aunt's Birthday. It was really good. I'm a big fan of the Cake Bake shops pie more than the cakes. It's been my 5 time going. This was my first time getting the club and tomato soup and it was very good!! I enjoyed all of my food.

Yelp
It took 4 emails, a scheduled phone call, and a deposit to book a 2-person afternoon tea. It was sort of crazy, honestly. As for the booking itself, the scone was delivered with our 2 tea choices and we were not given any other food until we finished our very large (although very delicious) scones. My issue is that we were sort of getting full before most of our other food was served. If we had everything on the table at once, we know what we're working with, but we were in the dark. After our scones (the best thing we had), a tiered tray was brought out with some small finger sandwiches and way too many desserts. Now, I get it, we're at a bakery, but it was way too much sweet and not nearly enough savory. We literally ate 1 bite each from the top tier and took the rest home. The sandwiches were just OK, but we saw a waiter walk by with a chicken salad sandwich (full size) for a neighboring table and it looked incredible. We both agreed we would go back for a normal reservation and get the scone and chicken salad sandwich.

Yelp
Wonderful shop! They make the visits special every time. We love to take guests for a visit, especially the granddaughters. Food and service is terrific. The setting is well designed and executed. Pricing is at the upper end, but worth the experience. The owner is an exceptional visionary, backed by a dedicated staff.

Yelp
Had a wonderful ladies lunch here to celebrate the Christmas season and to take in the beautiful decorations at this place. It definitely is something to see and admire. It's a fancy girly place, lots of little girls all dressed up like ballerinas. Our service was top-notch our waitress was at our table quite often to see if we needed anything and took care of us quickly. The food in my opinion does not match the price, but you're paying for more than the food you're paying for the experience. However I will say the Chicken Velvet soup is delicious. When I want to celebrate a fancy time with ladies, this is definitely the place.

Yelp
Solely reviewing the bakery only. We did not eat a meal here. Our experience at the bakery was lovely. We walked by the display case to help decide what we wanted. We then ordered and paid and waited for our name to be called when everything was boxed up. Staff all had smiles and were friendly. Everything was beautiful and immaculate inside. The decor was gorgeous. Lots of sparkle and glitter. We ordered a slice of cake and some other goodies. Lots of photo worthy areas as well. All in all a great experience.

Yelp
Don't love the spot, but don't hate it. It's obviously beautiful especially for specific events - we did a surprise shower for our cousin and it was the perfect setting. The food is average and is ridiculously expensive IMO. We got a cheese tray that was $70 and had to ask for extra crackers and got charged for them...

Yelp
Had a lovely lunch and the interior is beautiful. You are paying for an experience but it is worth it if you are in the area. The champagne and berries cake is beyond delicious

Yelp
If you follow my reviews (if you don't you totally should), you know I don't leave 1 star reviews very often, so this is a huge display of my disappointment in my experience here. My friend and I just had a wonderful experience at The Aroma Room just below Cake Bake in Carmel. She is planning a bridal shower for her daughter and has been speaking to the "sales" team at Cake Bake over the last few days. The told her I suggest you stop by so you can check out the room we would be hosting the party in based on the the number of people you are inviting (around 40 people). She wanted her to get a sense of the room she would have. Makes total sense. So we walk in and we let the person know that we were there based on the Sales Team recommendation to come and check out the room we might be hosting this party. She was VERY dismissive saying, "how would I know where you want to host the party?" Very snappy. We said, well she said because we are having 40 or so people attend she said there is one room that you host most events in for parties that size. She says, " I have no idea, it could be that room there" pointing to the area near the door. So we say okay we will go take a look. As we were talking we noticed there was a bridal shower sign towards the back and we said, oh there is a bridal shower back there, is that the room maybe? She said, "I really don't know" and looked down doing whatever it is she was doing. One thing of note, for this bridal shower, it will cost over $10,000 to host it here again based on the number of people attending. When someone is spending that type of money, I don't know, you just think that people would want you to have a warm experience so you would feel comfortable spending it. After we took a peek of where we THINK the room would be, we went back and asked if we could see a menu so we would have an idea of what type of things would be served. She said, I just suggest you call back and talk to sales (in a very nasty way) and they can tell you all that. The whole experience made us both feel terrible. I don't want to throw race in here, but we are two black women, and I don't know if she THOUGHT we weren't going to spend money there, or maybe she doesn't WANT us to have our bridal shower there. Not sure but nevertheless, she was very nasty and we are not thinking of alternatives to having it at this location. We were also going to have food and drinks while we were there but decided we didn't feel very welcomed and got food elsewhere. What I will say is the place is BEAUTIFUL, I mean it is PERFECT for a bridal shower, or girls lunch, brunch or whatever. Very nicely done on the decor side. I have been to the one in Broadripple which I really liked (and didn't get treated like we did here).

Yelp
Loved the decor! My family enjoyed the all of the beautiful decor and thoughtfulness of glitter and cakes. The display of all the baked goods were, was wonderful to see. The service was exceptional. The children felt very special being there. The food was also quite delicious. A salad, pasta. I finished my entire plate.

Yelp
I was in Town visiting from California and my sister's took me to this establishment. I was very pleased as soon as I walked in the door. This place is absolutely beautiful and the staff were amazing! The ambience was quaint. The cake was delicious and very moist. Their selection was absolutely breathtaking and a bit pricey but, the cake slices are pretty large in size. I would say it's absolutely worth it! I cannot wait to visit your establishment again. Thank you so much for the excellent service!

Yelp
I hosted my bridal party proposal brunch at cake bake and the staff was so kind when I called making the reservations and made the table so cute for us!
