Sunburst sculpture, stands 40 feet high and weighs 17 tons and has stood in that spot at the end of Wisconsin Avenue for nearly 40 years. It is officially named The Calling, and is owned by the Milwaukee Art Museum. The sculpture's orange color is a mixture of red and yellow, and it has to be repainted every five or six years. It’s been painted four times since its installation.

It's an icon of milwaukee. Probably took the artist minutes to come up with the idea. If you stand in the middle of Wisconsin Ave about 2 blocks west of there in the middle of the street its amazing. Otherwise it's just a bunch of I beams.

It's not that exciting to just a good view of some downtown buildings a good area just for a walk but that's about it it's not that excited it's all right place to think

This is the sculpture that locals either love or hate, but it always conjures up some emotion. I personally embrace this vintage symbol of Milwaukee.
