On the Grid : Candlemaker

"Inspired by a hundred year old candle factory that operated at the nearby York Road, this place inherits a very unique decor, some sixties-psychedelic parts mixing with for example a suit of armour. Nevertheless this spacious place shines with the possibility to sit outside, even in late autumn. There are regular events like free live music every Saturday. You could also enjoy one of their lovely burgers while watching one of the six nations games or attending Monday's pub quiz. SUN-WEDS: NOON-MIDNIGHT THURS-SAT: NOON-1AM" - Holmes Wood

Used first table for the 50% off food and had a fantastic time. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The place had a really cool vibe. They had also comedy on that night. The burgers were delicious. The prawn starters were yummy. The baby back ribs were a little bit tough and could’ve done with more sauce but overall it was a fantastic experience and will definitely come back.

What is better than a roast, you may ask, I’ll give you the answer, not just the task. Of course, it’s when a roast meets a BBQ in one plate, it’s as simple as that, come on, mate! If you are into meat, this place is epic, and if you are a vegetarian, don’t be pathetic. The flavour is unique and authentic I’m getting so excited I might need a medic! Top noch service and the whiskey options are many, you can get to choose from the world any, and it’s worth what you penny, So just come hungrey when you are ready

If you’re after a great Sunday roast in Battersea, you’ve got to come here. They serve up seriously tasty barbecued meats like beef, chicken, and pork, adding a smoky twist to the classic roast. They come loaded with all the good stuff—crispy roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, a big fluffy Yorkshire pudding, and rich gravy. They also whip up excellent cocktails if you fancy something a bit different with your meal. Plus, the manager, Callum, is fantastic—super friendly and always makes you feel right at home. With great food, drinks, and atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot for a chilled Sunday.

I recently visited The Candlemakers on Battersea High Street and was pleasantly surprised. The food menu is simple, but what they do, they do exceptionally well. I had the hamburger, and it was amazing – tasty, with quality meat. Their selection of beers and whiskies is incredible, featuring options from all over the world. Plus, it's really good value for money. The service was friendly and efficient, adding to the overall positive experience. Another bonus is that the pub is dog-friendly, making it a great spot for pet owners. I'll definitely be returning!

A truly wonderful "start" to the day with a beautifully cooked, presented, and tasted Sunday roast beef rib dinner !!!! From start to finish, impeccable, warm, friendly, welcoming, fun, service - first time in a while I haven't had to ask for water. Lots of choice for seating, indoors, 2 x outdoors - front and rear. Extremely clean, with very nice decor. Tips: Free parking evenings after 7pm and weekends nearby in Patience Road and surrounding area. Comedian performances here sell out fast, and Havana cigars are available. Plenty of deals available during lunch and weekdays too. Looking forward to returning - excellent stuff !!!!

My friend booked via first table deal for 50% off the food and I must say it was a big disappointment. Atmosphere: at 1pm there were only us and another table. The pub was freezing cold. Service: the bartender/ waiter was friendly and helpful. Food: oh boy. Where do I start. The starter- cauliflowers- were re-fried (it was from the day before) and soaked in some extremely salty sauce. I had to return it. Also, it was served in the cheapest plastic bread basket. I know pubs want to be trendy but that was just tacky. The main- chicken Caesar salad was appalling. The chicken was made the day before , warmed up and cut (zoom in you’ll see it) and both the lettuce and chicken were left out in the fridge on open to absorb the fridge smell so it was inedible. Battersea High St branch: My friend had the pitta bread with hummus but if you notice on the pic.. that ain’t a pitta bread. My food was removed from the bill but what about the £6 reservation we paid via first table? This pub has no place serving food. And I don’t say this lightly.

Came here after refurbishment. Ambience was absolutely brilliant! In terms of service, I didn’t get my drink initially and had to ask one more time to get the waiter send over. Food - chicken wings were dry, burger order was wrong and had to get the correct one made. Very over cooked beef and dry. The ribs was alright tender but not sure if it was the Smokey taste as it was quite salty to my liking. Overall still giving a 4 star with the atmosphere and the comfort ness of the restaurant. Food needs improving.

Booked on First Table, but the food is worth the full price. Service was amazing and staff were very friendly. We got the baby back ribs starter which was like a main sized portion of ribs without any sides. The prawns starter was also delicious and good portion size. The ribeye steak experience was fun as you cook it yourself and comes with butter, peppercorn sauce (which was delicious) and a seasoning! Also ordered the rib combo as I am indecisive, the beef rib was by far the tastiest thing on the plate, the pork belly and pork ribs were also decent too. The only fault we could find was the restaurant was a bit cold. We also have no problem with dogs/ places being dog friendly but considering the bar/restaurant focusses on BBQ meat, having a dog barking in the restaurant is a bit unsettling
