"After 46 years in business, the Canterbury pub in Capitol Hill announced it was closing in March; I learned that the space is now being turned into Meliora." - Jade Yamazaki Stewart

Simply amazing. We came in as a walk in party of 6 after a couple of hours at the Cotswold designer outlet. I ordered the signature burger… super tasty, great value for money. Top burger. Everyone else thoroughly enjoyed their meals and we all agree that further visits in the future are a definite. Thank you to all involved in this lovely pub!

Came here today as had often driven past and thought how lovely it looked. On arrival it took 10 minutes to be served for a drink. After sitting down and looking at the menu, we ordered food 10 minutes later (a burger and mac and cheese) After 45 minutes we questioned where our food was and was told that it was the next ticket and had been started and would be 5 minutes. After an hour we questioned again as still no food to be told that the was going to be a further ten minutes as it was 'busy' Obviously not enough staff for a pub that maybe has a total of under 20 people eating and the service was incredibly slow. Such a shame as this building itself has so much potential to be brilliant.

It is a smart, clean, quite pub serving good food. I have marked the food at 4/5 as the chilli con carne mince was very fine but a really good meal overall with the addition of skin on fries. The staff were pleasant and cheerful. Value for money for the food and atmosphere is about right. I will visit again and probably have the same again although there is a wide variety on the menu.

Booked a food table online for half 7 , not an auto conformation, they say a member of tge team will contact you regarding booking. No contact. Turned up early to be told that they are not serving food anymore. Rude bartender, felt ignored. No such thing as a queue just stand at the bar and hope you get served. First time visiting and wont be back. Would not recommend.

Nice place, nice staff, although the food from when we got served at 7pm ish. Was a 45min wait and when it came it looked like was cooked for 45mins. Dry and over done fish, lasgne and steak ale pie was dry. Only thing that oven cooked to percection was chips. So not for us sorry..

Great for large parties - big indoor and outdoor area. Very limited bar options. The night we came there was live music which was fun, but they were stationed right by the bar so we had to yell our orders. A bunch of us received wrong orders (no fault of the staff) because it was too loud to hear anything / correct

Arrived at 2:30 in order to have some food in what seemed to be a well turned out pub. Online hours stated the kutchen closes at 3:30pm-4pm, hence the early arrival. Proceed to order drinks and sit down, look at the menu for all of 2 minutes, walk to the bar to order to be told food isn't being served. Now as someone that also works in hospitality (kitchen worker) if never dream of closing my kitchen early, regardless of the weather, if stipulated online (and on the door stipulates 12pm-8pm *no memtion of it closing*) they are the hours that should be adhered too. The pub in itself is very well turned out, glasses clean, bar stocked well and a very welcoming gentleman behind the bar, but a large let down. Id suggest the company reviews their opening hours online or gets staff to keep to scheduled hours. May possibly try again in the future

Called in for evening meal with a colleague while working in Tewkesbury and staying in local hotel. Nice pub, good beer and food. Make sure you get in early-ish for evenings as we arrived around ten past 7 and were told the kitchen stopped taking orders at half 7. Some items were off the menu that day but enjoyed the meal, would go again next time I'm working in Tewkesbury.

Yelp
The Canterbury is a well presented pub, which is split into half pub half resturant. It's food is very good, using fresh and local produce. Family's are catered for and a bouncy castle is erected in a large garden when weather permits.

Yelp
A little downmarket for me, however I believe they have just been taken over by new people, so will have to try again. certainly the food has always been good value here, so worth a try.
