Absolutely phenomenal for a date night; this is a great location to go to as a place that just made us feel like we were in for a quality evening. The ambience was fantastic and the wait staff at all levels really made us feel special.
Benjamin, our sommelier and waiter, did an excellent job recommending wine and food pairings, providing us insight into the menu, and helping us with some "off menu" items that made the evening even better. They went above and beyond in providing an experience that will long be remembered.
We began with a first course of appetizers in shrimp cocktails and bacon with pickled onions. Both were fantastic with large shrimp and a great bite of flavor on the pork.
After this, we moved to a blue cheese wedge salad which really defied every expectation we've had. Neither of us are real fans of blue cheese, but done in this way it is made into a truly divine combination. The tomatoes worked and filled out the course.
Benjamin provided us warm towels in between, and reset our table, brought out a long stem rose and some confetti material to make the evening special. We chose to go with a syrah that was divine; after trying the sample we chose to take the bottle and make it a multi-course meal as a treat.
We chose to have an Oscar-type surf & turf at recommendation; crab and steak combined with asparagus and a fantastic sauce. For our other meal, we had American Wagyu beef, and the flavor was fantastic with an incredible crust and. properly seasoned. We enjoy our meet on the rare/medium rare side, and these absolutely hit the spot, perfectly cooked to the absolutely correct temperature.
For sides, we had lobster mac and cheese and scalloped potatoes, both of which were exceptional, and the presentation was fantastic.
We had time to eat, talk, and enjoy the environment, and then before we were ready to go, we tried some desserts. The coconut creme pie and the cheesecake. The cheesecake is different, with a creme-brulee type top, and the texture was absolutely amazing. The coconut creme pie had a rich and pleasing pie crust, combined with a cookie nature on top. Beautiful.
We sat for some time afterward, and we were never rushed, giving ourselves time to make sure we had time to enjoy anything. Benjamin brought us over a quick nightcap cocktail, a great capper on the evening; as well as a cup of double espresso and pear & ginger tea. The two were a fantastic way to end the evening and the discussions were absolutely sublime. We had a great time and I truly enjoyed every minute of it; hats off to Benjamin, our guide who truly made the evening special.
