The Capital Grille

I decided to surprise my wife for her birthday today and wanted to take here somewhere really nice for dinner. Neither of us had been here before, but we had heard great things. I made online reservations which was incredibly easy and user friendly . We got to the restaurant a little early and it was pouring , I dropped my wife off , but I was a little wet from the rain. The staff gave me some clothe napkins to help dry me off, which was fantastic! We get to the table and there are rose pedals and confetti and a hand written happy birthday note from the capital grille! What a great touch! They also sat us in a booth that was perfect as the noise level was low so we could enjoy each others company.the environment was incredible, it was clean , refined and very relaxing. Our waiters name was Jason, hands down thee best server on the planet. He was personable, funny, friendly, amazing attentive, he always seemed to perfectly time his attentiveness . Truly the entire staff , even down to the wait staff who keep our water filled and took our dishes were incredibly friendly and always prompt. We started dinner with drinks , which were hand shaken at our table by Jason and they were both great , I got the stoli doli and my wife got the capital cosmopolitan. Would recommend both Next we ordered our appetizer, we chose the lobster and crab cake with lemon aioli. We just got back from the Florida keys recently and not even their crab cakes were this good, the crab cake had a perfect consistency and the lemon with basil aioli was a perfect pairing. 10/10 would order again For dinner my wife ordered the Sliced Filet Mignon with Cipollini Onions, Wild Mushrooms and Fig Essence, medium rare, I ordered the Porcini-Rubbed Bone-In Ribeye with 15-Year Aged Balsamic , also medium rare. Our dinners and steaks were cooked to perfection. The 15 year aged balsamic had this perfect sweetness to pair with my incredible tender steak with an amazing char! My wife’s fillet was also perfectly cooked and incredibly delicious. The mushrooms just burst in your mouth. We ordered 2 sides The Au Gratin Potatoes and Soy-Glazed Brussels Sprouts with Bacon both were very tasty, the soy glazed brussel sprouts with bacon was fantastic! The bacon pieces had this smoky flavor that was to die for! As we were thinking of ordering desert our waiter Jason surprised my wife with a desert with a candle but kept it discreet, which we loved to be honest. The desert was a flourless chocolate cake and a brûléed cheese cake both with fresh berries! Both were amazing, the chocolate cake had this incredible texture and chocolate flavor and paired with the fruit it was just perfect. The cheese cake was the smoothest silkiest cheesecake we have ever had ! The sauce that came with it and the berries , we were speechless I just wanted to say thank you to the capital grille waiters , hostess and our server Jason for making my wife’s birthday a night to remember. If I could give you more stars I would!

Our group of eight had reservations at The Capital Grille after church on a Sunday, and from the moment we walked in, the experience was excellent. There was no wait, and we were seated immediately. We were lucky to have Daryl as our server — he was absolutely amazing! From taking our orders to ensuring our table had everything we needed, he was attentive and professional throughout. He kept our waters and teas refilled and made sure we were well taken care of. The food was outstanding. The 22-ounce steak, Filet Mignon and Roasted Chicken Breast With Mushrooms And Parmesan Risotto was cooked to perfection, the Korean barbecue appetizer was delicious, and both the French onion soup and clam chowder were full of flavor. Everything we ordered — from appetizers to entrées — exceeded expectations. The only downside was the wedge salad, which didn’t taste as fresh as we would’ve liked. But that small detail aside, the entire dining experience was wonderful. We’ll definitely be back!

Although my family has been going to the capital Grille for many years now, I have never gone myself until last night and WOW, have I been missing out! I now have a new favorite restaurant and I’m looking forward to frequenting here as often as possible! And I will absolutely be asking for, and highly recommend our server, Chris! He was exceptional to say the very least. Everyone who I came in contact with there was a class act! The food was divine. I had the cobb salad with sliced tenderloin and it was perfection! The Parmesan truffle fries were so delicious as well as the Kona espresso, martini and flourless chocolate espresso cake! Thank you for such excellent service, food, and ambience!

A great place with high-quality meals! The restaurant is very clean and has an upscale atmosphere. Reservations are usually needed, but we were lucky to get a table after a short five-minute wait following our mall shopping. The food portions were just right ,not oversized, and the quality was excellent. Definitely worth it!✨️ The pricing matches the great service and ambiance, making it a solid choice. If you enjoy a good bar, they offer a great selection of well-crafted drinks. 🙌 Highly recommended!👌

Top-tier service and food quality. Our two favorite dishes were the fried Calamari 🐙and the Lobster Mac & Cheese 🦞🧀. They also offer valet parking. We were there celebrating our parents' anniversary. They went above and beyond to help make the moment special.

We celebrated our anniversary with our family of nine . It was a perfect choice for a special occasion dinner. Capital Grille hit the mark for a special dining experience; and credit must go to management and well trained staff that excel at making sure the evening was truly memorable. Our table was beautifully decorated with rose pedals and a best wishes card, a lovely touch. The food was delicious and the service was as good as it gets. A special shout out to Chris D., our server who was outstanding as well as Patty and the executive management who checked on us and other diners throughout our meal. With many fine restaurants to choose from in the Detroit area, once again Capital Grille was the perfect choice for a fine dining experience.

Food is absolutely delicious and the ambience is an inviting, relaxed and classy atmosphere. Customer service is very professional and attentive. A gem of a first class restaurant in my opinion…best I’ve been to and will definitely go back time and again. I thoroughly enjoyed the Roasted Chicken Breast with mushrooms and Parmesan risotto and my delicious Bloody Mary drink.

I was fortunate in that I attended a financial seminar last night (21OC25) at your establishment. I ordered the fillet mignon w/ cobb salad. The food quality distracted me from my mission! Many Thanks

We have always had a great experience here. The last two visits were disappointing. The hostess was very rude a few months ago causing us to leave. My birthday dinner was a disaster. The table wasn't ready when we arrived for our reservation. There were three very people who were very confused and another couple and us waited for them to finally seat us. They were not sure whose birthday it was. The dry aged steaks arrived under cooked and room temperature with very little flavor. We ordered zip sauce to accommodate the lack of flavor. That was horrible and tasted like brown liquid salt. The cocktails were very nice the first round while the second round was very watered down and was spilled on our table while serving. The server dropped several pieces of our calamari appetizer on the floor and the calamari was unusually so spicy we couldn't enjoy it. The creamed spinach was so over seasoned we couldn't enjoy that. The birthday dessert presentation was delicious and very nice. The table was decorated very nice and festive. The valet was unresponsive to get our car with the text message app. They were busy watching football and said they never received the text. We received at text after we returned home that they were unavailable to retrieve our car. This is such a disappointment and we had such a wonderful time, at the Chicago location recently.

I came for their Wagyu and Wine event which I heard was amazing. The recommendation was spot on. I enjoyed the Mushroom and Swiss burger with the Zinfandel recommended pairing. It complimented the slight sweetness of the Zarlsberg Cheese and the beef. Debi does her job very well. Very attentive even with all the requests that were coming her way behind the bar. The restaurant itself would make for that night out with the special someone. The ambiance is cozy and romantic with the dim lighting. Can't wait to come back and try their regular menu.

We were invited to The Capital Grille for a presentation by our financial advisor. As soon as we walked in, I knew we were some place special. We were offered wine, beer and other drinks. I had an iced tea. Appetizers for the table of calamari and prosciutto wrapped mozzarella sticks were served to us. After that, we were served nice, light salads of field greens that were dressed perfectly. We were able to choose from several entrees. I was very excited to see a bone-in strip steak as one of the offerings; it's so unusual to see bone-in steaks on menus, so I knew immediately that that was my choice. It was huge, which made me happy, because that meant that I could take home the leftovers and eat the meat off the bone with my hands -- the impolite but most enjoyable way to eat steak. Along with our entrees, we were served mashed potatoes and asparagus -- two of my favorites. I liked the flavors of both, but I thought the potatoes were too gooey and the asparagus was overcooked. They gave us our dessert -- flourless chocolate espresso cake -- to take home. I ate it the next night. It was divine. And the service was wonderful -- professional but friendly, and with a bit of humor.

Despite the Troy, Michigan location being one of my favorite dining spots, the last visit was by far the worst dining experience that I have ever had with the Capital Grille. I went with three of my best friends for dinner on Saturday evening at 6:45pm (with reservation). We were celebrating a special occasion. The service was great as usual. The food was mostly good, but the bad outweighed the good. After ordering drinks and appetizers, I ordered the bone-in Ribeye, medium rare ($82). When all of the steaks arrived, simply by patting the steak with my knife, I knew it was over-cooked. It was not even medium, it was medium-well (ordered medium-rare). As soon as I grabbed our waiter, he took one look and acknowledged that it was severely overcooked. He took my steak, and brought me a small plate to transfer the sides to. By the time the steak was brought back out, all of the sides were gone and my buddies had finished their meals (about 20 minutes). I did not ask them to wait, and encouraged them to eat. No new sides were brought for me. After cutting into the steak and verifying that it was done properly, I took a few bites, maybe eating 15% of the steak. We had already had multiple courses, and I did not want to sit there and eat while everyone else was finished. The waiter knew that I was not a happy camper. We ordered a dessert to share amongst us, and then asked for the check. I was stunned that the steak was on the bill. No discount whatsoever was offered. In the past, on the rare occasion that the meal was not done properly, the staff at this location has bent over backwards to make accommodations to ensure that I would return. I've been a customer for more than 25 years. Nothing was done, and frankly, for a bill that was about $600 when all was said and done, I found it to be wholly inadequate. For the first time in forever, I can honestly say that I will not be planning a return trip to the Capital Grille.

Excellent food Excellent service. It was my birthday and The Capital Grille was fabulous. The service was terrific and the food was scrumptious. The room is warm and welcoming and it was a busy night.

We went for a birthday dinner on a Sunday evening after attending the Lions game . We booked our table on open table and they were ready right as we arrived though it was busy for a Sunday evening. The table was decorated with a birthday card and party favors. The crab cake appetizer was delicious and the cocktails well crafted . I enjoyed the dry aged bone in strip steak . To top it off dessert was provided as a birthday treat . Jen our server was awesome , especially through a couple order hiccups .

Capital Grille was a solid 10 for me. So first things first, they do have a dress code but they do compromise. Bar/lounge area, casual wear is acceptable but you gotta put that shit on for the main dining room. I love that! Bring back real clothes. They start you off with a basket of a variety of breads. It was like 3/4 different breads. The onion roll was my favorite. Okay so for the special, it's $35 a pairing for the burger of your choosing and a glass of Cabernet, Merlot or Pinot Noir. I'm not a red wine drinker at alllll so I let my waitress help me pick and she chose the Cabernet and the Merlot and she chose right! My mushroom Swiss burger was fireeeee. I got it cooked medium and it came out just right. You can tell the meat was of good quality as soon as you bite into it & there was definitely some seasonings and spices going on in there. They didn't count on the cheese and mushrooms to do all the work which I GREATLY appreciate. My waitress and server assistant were absolutely lovely. So attentive and sweet to me. 10s for them individually and collectively. So for a long time, I thought I didn't like cold/raw oysters and that I only like chargrilled or Rockefeller but that's absolutely not true. So I've been on a raw oyster kick lately and I just couldn't help myself, I had to order some and there did not disappoint. You gotta dress them up with all the fixings before you eat them. Before I left, I got a lemon drop. Fireeeeeee!! Perfect balance of mixings and alcohol. I hate sweet drinks and this lemon drop did everything she came to do.

I was at the capital grille for a work event with about 30 people. The service ( Darrell And Clare) was outstanding. The food exceptional ++ all around a great experience for all that attended.

What more is there to say about the capital girl that hasn't been said many times before. The food is terrific. The ambience is spectacular. The service is beyond compare. We had a ribeye and the surf & turf , both were excellent. Our serving Nicole was a joy. And the hostess Candace . It was an anniversary and was made extra special by the Capital Grille. I guess you can tell it is highly recommended.

Everything was perfect, per the usual. Like a well oiled machine, Capital Grill is consistently delicious. We went to celebrate my Birthday, I was given a card and some cute Bday confetti on the table. Also, the complimentary dessert was a chocolate cake & cheesecake, so good. Highly recommend.

Decided this spot to celebrate my daughter's 16th birthday! Spot on!! They did not disappoint with anything! Valet parking is a must! I requested a booth, was a little disappointed we had to sit at a table. However, the service was wonderful!!! I expect nothing less from a place such as this one.. We ordered steaks, they were cooked to perfection.. bread basket was tasty.. Mac and cheese and Brussel sprouts.. sooo good! The only dish I was not impressed with was the crab cake.. I'm that girl that try to order them when I can, but theirs didn't wow me. Definitely recommend for any type of celebration! Forgot to mention, they gave my daughter roses... her father's request during rsvp!

My wife and I have been here several times before, and the food /service was good. It's the management that was a disappointment this time around. Apparently we weren't dressed well enough as walk-in customers (similar dress as in the past). When the manager tells you in not so many words that they basically can't help you, it was a surprise. But then for the manager to glance at their dress code sign while giving us a "maybe next time", it's downright disappointing. And the kicker, after we left, we made a reservation on open table for basically the same day/time with no trouble (no, we didn't go back). Maybe we should've done that first and it would've been different with a reservation? Who knows? In any case, I don't know what's going on at that place, but I'll be thinking twice about ever going back just for how we were brushed off. I understand restaurants and their dress codes, but this one is in a mall...a mall! So expect customers that may not be dressed to your usual "standard", even though we were based on past visits. Or just relocate so some other establishment can move in that would be happy to serve us. Btw, we ended up going to J Alexander's across the way, which for a lower price, great staff and no stuffy dress code, we had a comparable dinner.

After years of being my "go to" I'm done with this place. They are mismanaged, lowered their food quality, and have lost their touch. It's really sad. I'm starting to see other long term customers starting to feel the same. They used to be untouchable, now they are another establishment on their way down. I'm not sure how much longer they will last because people are really starting to notice the decline. Never coming here again.

Fantastic restaurant with superb service staff!!! We went there with my hubby's sister and her husband to celebrate the birthdays of all of us, as we were all born in January. They decorated our table beautifully with red rose pedals. For our birthday complimentary desert, they got us four pieces of cake and four candles. We loved the experience there from the beginning till the end. The reception girls were all super sweet. Our waiter was amazing. He made us feel like we were the only patrons while the restaurant was crowded. All our food was delicious, especially the beat salad. My hubby and I shared sea bass and a steak. They halved the items and created us separate platters. We will definitely go back there!!!!

I have never had a bad meal at Capital Grille. Food, service and ambiance is always 5/5 here. Yes, it is expensive. Yes, they have a dress code but that is what makes it special. The care they go to to make sure you have an exceptional dining experience puts them above most other restaurants. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu and they usually have multiple daily specials. Aside from dinner we have been here for Easter and Mother's Day brunch as well. I highly recommend the lonster frittata if you come for brunch, it is excellent. You can't go wrong with their scallops or any cut of steak here. If you enjoy cocktails, they make the best espresso martini around.

My wife and I went here for our 40th wedding anniversary dinner and we could not be happier that we did. The personal attention was outstanding and our waiter was extremely attentive! The ambiance, the adult beverages and the food was the best we've had in a long time. Lobster Bisque, Scallops, Chilean Sea Bass were all piping hot and delicious! A notch above! This is how you run a restaurant to make patrons come back. And we will definitively be back.

I'm sure you all have seen the event the generous pour wine event on TikTok. So my friend and I wanted to give it a try. We made our reservations for lunch. When we arrived, we were quickly seated, and the menu explained to us. We opted to sit outside and we had a wonderful view of the parking lot, but the patio felt like I was on vacation. Our waitress was very nice. I'm so mad I forgot her name. She was so patient and with us while we decided what we wanted to eat. We placed our orders and the wine begin to pour. The generous pour event offer seven different types of wine three whites and four reds. If you like any of the wines you can get more. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and explained to us the different types of wine. When our food arrived, it was very good. The ribeye steak sandwich was so tender juicy so very good! I can't wait to return just for that sandwich. My friend stated that her salad was very good and she was very shocked on how good it was. Granted after the wine and food, we were very full and satisfied. Can't wait to return!

We returned to CG for my b' day. It was our second time here. This time we had lunch which certainly lived up to our expectations Conrad, our server was friendly, kind, intelligent & it is great to be able to converse with a server who has personality but is polite. The steaks were excellent, well cooked to our preference ,& everything else was spot on Thank you CG for making our visit an occasion

I called for afternoon reservations on my way from the thumb, to celebrate the start of a Mommy/Daughter weekend with my four year old. We were shocked to see our table all decked out in celebratory finery! I'm happy to say they had her favorite foods (chicken strips and fries) on their unlisted kids menu too. My steak sandwich and cocktails were perfect. They even treated us to dessert! I was blown away by everyone's attention to detail and we will be sure to come back soon!

I attended an event held in a private room at this location. The ambience of the private room was casual, quiet, and modestly elegant, conveniently located near the restrooms. Our server was professional. I gave less than a five star review because when I returned to our table, the assistant to the lead server had placed my food in a different type of take home bag than all the other attendees and had placed it on the floor next to my chair. I was disappointed that my entree take home bag had been placed on the floor while the other attendees had their take home entree container bag placed on the dining table. Also the bread basket was removed after the salad and not available to enjoy with the main meal. Overall the team serving us gave good service throughout the evening considering the size of our party and that there was another event held in the room next door. I was impressed that they easily accommodated food allergy to Sesame. I was informed that it wss only in the Lavash bread which the server accommodated by omitting it from the bread basket assortment. The food was excellent from the appetizers to the dessert. The appetizer was the fried Calamari and hot peppers, lightly fried and not tough but it was very spicy with jalapeños. The salad was a mixture of field greens, carrots, radishes, grape tomatoes with a light vinaigrette served with a variety of bread in a basket. I was surprised that they did not keep the bread basket on the table to be enjoyed with the remainder of the courses served. One of the main entrees: a filet mignon nicely grilled as ordered (medium well) and about the same portion size as the others ordered. The filet had a nice slightly crispness to the edge with a moist tender texture and flavor in the center and a beautiful hint of pinkness for the medium well requested. The other entrees offered and served were Salmon and Chicken which looked delicious and were amply portioned. The sides were served separately and not plated with the entree: creamy mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. The creamed spinach was very smooth with a mild flavor. These complimented the entrees nicely and were not overpowering in flavor. The dessert was a very dense and rich chocolate flat cake topped with a dollop of cream and a few raspberries, delicious for any chocolate lover! I would recommend and return to dine here anytime! Capital Grille is one of my favorite restaurants! They are always consistent with their excellent service and their delicious food. Everything is amazing on the menu. We came here for my birthday and the experience was nothing but spectacular. I would highly recommend coming here.

For the last 30 yrs, Mortons has been our spot for special occasions. In the last few years we have noticed a downturn in both the quality of the food and the general atmosphere of the place. We stopped eating there about 6 months ago and have been looking for a new venue. I had eaten at Capitol Grill yrs ago and I remembered getting a pretty good steak there. We made reservations Sat for dinner. I cant say enough about how happy this place made me. Lets start with our server, Brandon. Professional, friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. The atmosphere, WOW, luxury and the ambiance was special. The food, Apps, lump crab, A++++, French onion soup, A+++, bread, delightful. Wife had Ahi and said it was top rate. And what did I eat? Bone in Ribeye, AuGratin potatoes, mushrooms and a wedge salad. It was the best damn steak Ive eaten in a long time. I know the review got long but that tends to happen when I get this excited. Needles to say. We have found our new Special Place. Thanks Capitol for the experience!

We knew we had come to the RIGHT SPOT when we stopped in one weekday, late afternoon recently to have a glass of great wine and the door opened spontaneously from within the space and we were welcomed by two people at the host area! Because we had no reservations (and because we were interested in the beverages) we sat at the bar with Jason as our skilled and engaging bartender. Our wines ranged between $17 - $29 by the glass. We ordered complimentary bread service which was delicious! Hope to return soon to share a meal!

I was treated to a birthday luncheon and had a stellar experience! Great ambience, superb service, high quality/delicious food and extra special attention given to my birthday celebration. Shout out to hostess Candice S. who truly made my day. Overall a great and memorable experience.

What a wonderful evening at Capital Grill in Troy last night celebrating a 90th birthday. All nine of us thoroughly enjoyed the food from the apps through the desserts. Kona crusted strip as always the bomb and perfectly cooked. No one beats Capital Grille's calamari. Also had the crab cake appetizer which everyone said was the best they have had. Mashed and au gratin potatoes also decadent. Jay took great care of us as well as did all of the employees who treat you like royalty. Look forward to our next visit. Sorry too busy eating and celebrating for pics this visit!

Wow! Steve was great and the food was exceptional! Truly a great experience. We enjoyed our stop here and will definitely be back. Everything we had was top notch from the starters to desert.

The lobster bisque has no competition in the Detroit metro area as far as my husband and I are concerned. Do yourself a favor and have a cup at least. It is a little pricey but worth the cost. We sat at the bar and our server was very attentive and friendly. If you are celebrating a special occasion, make a reservation and let them know and they will make it even more special. I would like to begin with as soon as we sat down ( a party of three) we were given an alcohol menu; and before we could look at it we were asked what did we want to drink? It appeared from the very start we were being rushed. After the waiter took our order for the drinks he asked if we were ready to order our meal. Long story short this space is not big enough for all that I have to say. So l will cut to the chase the food was terrible. I ordered the sea scallops I received four scallops the size of a quarter that was barely warm and a huge amount of couscous. My other parties ordered the sliced filet mignon which they said was so tough they couldn't enjoy. The ambience was okay and staff were very pleasant. I was thoroughly disappointed with my meal I will never go to Capital Grille again. There's too many good restaurants in Troy, Michigan to enjoy rather than attending a restaurant that merely served mediocre food.

Very nice atmosphere and loved the decor. Lighting is dim makes for a good romantic date night but still buzzing with energy if you'd want that vibe too. The food was to die for! Everything from the drinks, appetizers, entrees and dessert was impeccable. Service was great! Highly attentive staff and very personable made our dining experience great. Recommended dishes and ensured we were satisfied throughout the evening. Appreciated the dedication to customer service.

This review was during a very busy Friday night less than a week before Christmas. One of our traditions includes meeting with our good friends to celebrate the holiday and enjoy a special dinner. The location and ambiance of this establishment fit the bill. The crowded and very loud bar area was due to it being a Friday night prior to Christmas. The hostess was on top of things and explained that our table would be ready in minutes. (And it was) Our waiter (Jay) is a true professional and took good care of us throughout our dinner. He answered questions related to the entrees and particular specials that were not on the menu. There's no doubt that that you're paying for both the quality of food,ambiance and (hopefully) top notch service. My wife and I split an order of lamb chops that were outstanding. My roasted beet salad was quite nice. The shrimp cocktail appetizer included four colossal shrimp that were prepared to perfection. The corking fee ($45) is a bit excessive but this was disclosed by our waiter beforehand. All in all, you can be sure you'll have a good experience at TCG if you accept and understand you do get what you pay for here.

Poor quality food on an over priced menu. Food was disappointing as was the wine. $150 for a poor lunch that neither of us enjoyed. Won't be back. A lot better choices up and down Big Beaver.

I could not say enough positive things about this restaurant. I went with my boyfriend for valentine's day and they secretly gave him a long stem rose to give to me. SO SWEET. our waters were always refilled and our waitress stephanie was AMAZING i couldn't decide what dessert I wanted so we ordered one then she came out and gave me the other one for free!! I had the best experience and the BEST date night. Little pricey but SO WORTH IT. i will be back thank you capital grill you train your staff with class.

Outstanding experience! To start, the staff from hostess to waiter were terrific. We enjoyed their wonderful bread basket. Next, we got the lobster and crab cakes. While I didn't get a picture, they were quite enjoyable. Minimal breading and maximum seafood. Terrific. For our meal, we got the salmon and filet & lobster. Both were great. The salmon came, as pictured, came on a nice bed of asparagus. For our sides, we ordered the lobster macaroni & cheese along with some creamed asparagus. While both were great, my favorite was the truffle fries. The fries were piping hot and perfectly drizzled with truffle oil. For dessert, I highly recommend the cheesecake. It was just as good as it looks! Overall, a pricey meal, but quite enjoyable. I'd recommend carving out a few hours for dinner here. Make the trip! It's worth it.

Aside from the unnecessary rude demeanor of the hostess working last night on Thanksgiving, the other staff was amazing. I proceeded to supply her with my phone number as she was searching for my reservation and for some reason this really bothered her. The fact that I was 10 minutes early bothered her as well, as she sneered at me and attempted to belittle me. Instead of saying "we will have your table ready soon." It was "Well you're early and the table isn't ready so you have to wait." LOL her energy and facial expression said even more. I won't get into the rest of the dialogue but this encounter pretty much ruined our experience at one of my favorite restaurants. I expect a better attitude from the staff at an establishment like this.

Disappointed and surprised Last Friday evening we dined at the newly remodeled Capitol Grill in Troy MI. For many years we have enjoyed this location. The service had been excellent and the food was delightful. With 2 couples our bill was just of $500. The food was good, not exceptional. The problem is the service. When you pay this much for a dining experience you come to expect a superior level of service. Capitol Grill fell flat with service. Missteps with the food delivery started the downhill experience. From there the staff simply ignored us like we were not present. I regret dining at Capitol Grill that evening. It will be quite a while until we venture back over there. There is great quality food with much better service elsewhere.

This is probably my favorite restaurant. Everything I've tried is so good. I also like to come on special days like Valentine's because they do something special. I'm sad it caught on fire recently! I hope they are up and running quickly.

Came here for a small bite/nibble at the bar.. Great oysters and French onion soup. Service was great with Anthony. And the free bread basket smells so great, I'm not usually a bread person but yummmm.

Amazing service and food! Darryl was our server and he was exceptional. We both had the salmon salad and it was the best prepared salmon I've ever had. The salad greens were wonderful with a perfectly balanced vinaigrette! I'll return for that salad over and over again!

Came here with some friends to celebrate my late birthday; it was our first time trying out this restaurant (Troy, Mi). Words can not describe how incredible our experience was. Our server (Aaron S.) was very helpful and attentive and had a great humor; which was a big plus. Not only him, but other employees and manager was also very sweet. Really gave the restaurant a comfortable feel. After we left we couldn't stop talking about the amazing service and all agreed that it was probably the best service that we ever had. For food we all ordered our own sliced filet mignon and french onion soup. We shared truffle fries and mashed potatoes. Our orders came out fairly quick. This is a more upscale restaurant so the prices is on the pricier side, but you do get what you paid for. I've been to other upscale steakhouses that gives such small portions for the amount paid. The Capital Grill definitely exceeded my expectations... Good portion and tasty food, relaxed environment, and the incredible service (can't stop raving about it)! The Capital Grille is truly the definition of fine dining --

Celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary here. Our table was very sweetly decorated when we arrived. The steaks and all the food was absolutely delicious. And our waitress Gina and restaurant manager Patty were/are spectacular people thank you for a special evening. We'll definitely be back. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Changing my review to 5 stars because my last experience here was phenomenal. Satish and Jason are great. The onion bread is sooo good! So definitely have the bread. My sliced filet was phenomenal again. We also got the seafood platter and that was really good too. My bf got the NY strip and he really enjoyed it. The cheesecake was sooo good and so was the berries and cream dessert. Honestly everything was great, from the food to the drinks and the service. I had the same drink as last time, a stoli doli, and champagne. All were so good! The champagne was very fairly priced and tasted amazing. I definitely want to try the lobster mac when I return! Sounds so yummy!

I've Ben coming here for over 11 years they treat me and my kids like family Wich along with the wonderful food keeps me coming back I love this place best steakhouse locally In my opinion better seafood then ocean prime I recommend there lobster salad , filet of course & shrimp cocktail There shrimp cocktail is the freshest around
