The Cap has become a home away from home. So many stellar performances and I adore every single person who works there, from the box office to the bartenders to security and ushers alike. They allow you to bring a bottle of water in with you which is always a bonus. Hope to see you there, I’ll be back again super soon!

Google
The Cap never disappoints!! What an amazing turnout for the dedication of Phil Lesh Lane.. And the Concerts that followed!! Mind blowing.. Staff and Security are kind, as always..

Google
This location was a favorite of Jerry Garcia (or so they say), but also a favorite of many others including me. The view is good from just about all angles. There are balcony seats and standing room on the ground level. The restrooms are located on multiple floors and decently kept up during shows. There is a bar, but not a restaurant. Plenty of nearby restaurants though. Park for free down the road and walk 2 blocks. They have coat check in, band merch when appropriate, as well as theatre merch.

If I was selfish, I’d say that this venue is not great. However, sharing with others is important. If you love music, great crowds, respectful staff, and quality sound/lighting, you’ll thoroughly enjoy this venue. It’s outstanding. Plus, you never know who you will meet. It’s an interesting and diverse crowd from all over. I’ve seen 2 of my favorite bands here in the past year (The National and Band of Horses). Love the Cap!!!!

Google
So much history here! Lil gems of relics all over this place. Git your pic taken at Phil Lesh Lane. Staff top notch. Sound. Sight. Everything. And the snacks!!!

Google
It has a very wobbly floor… Or maybe I'm just very wobbly when I'm there. Either way, it's always a great time! Classic.

Google
The Capitol Theater, located in Port Chester has a storied history with some of the most famous and legendary musicians passing through their doors and performing on their stage. The venue has a very intimate vibe with a full bar, called Garcias which they throw after parties at after performances. We had the opportunity to see the Black Pumas perform at this stage on August 1st and were blown away by their performance, the acoustics were incredible and the way Eric Burton commands the stage and interact with the audience is absolutely spectacular! I highly recommend both going to see the Black Pumas perform live and the Capitol Theatre! A true vibe!

Google
A wonderful place to see a show. It has an old theatre vibe, but acoustics are good and seats are comfortable. There are bars on multiple floors, but be prepared, the drink prices are expensive.

Yelp
This Port Chester NY venue was a hop skip and a jump from the Metro North line which was so convenient! There were no lines and no hassles getting into the venue and staff seemed very enthusiastic and energetic. The whole vibe seemed relaxed. Great! The seating was more spacious than other venues we have been to recently, with stable and sturdier chairs with drink holders! Hallelujah!!! The arm, leg distances were roomier than the last venues we attended. We did not feel cramped or claustrophobic. We had 2nd row dead center on the floor and the view was amazing. The sound and lighting were fantastic!!! We enjoyed every minute of the show oblivious to any craziness that may have been going on, so it seems staff and security are keeping things in check!!! Kudos to them. Outside of the main stage area there is a bar area ( Garcia's) and a small stage which seems like an intimate space to see a local performer. I would not hesitate to return to this venue again to see a show, but I would steer clear of the "after party" at Garcia's following a main stage performance (the staff hold up signs as you are exiting to reel you in). Complete money grab. Otherwise loved the experience and will look to return (however, not to the Garcia's "after party").

Yelp
It has a rich heritage. It's a landmark. Parking is easy and cheap. Drinks are pricey. Ticket prices are fair. No leg room. Seats are adequately comfortable otherwise. People talk continuously through the show. Very rude. LA is much better. You feel like you're entering a prison as they pat you down. Very stuffy and warm. There are a lot better venues.

Yelp
Great venue Sound is good Hadnt been there since the early 70's The only thing that changed are floor seats as opposed to bench seating and the bar Will be returning to see some more great entertainment

Nestor O.

Yelp
Amazing place, great, friendly staff, drinks aren't super overpriced and the ambiance is definitely there!

Yelp
Very cool theater that brings you back in time. There is also a very cool bar attached to it with some cool memorabilia on the walls.

Yelp
I am at a dilemma writing this review. This was a charity auction that I won at current retail value. I had a choice of the entertainment and chose Daryl Hall and Todd Rundgren. Big fans of Daryl Hall because of seening him with Train in Oakland about five years ago. Stellar performance with my gal pals. Top five concerts in my life. Big fan of Todd for 50 years. Todd Rundgren surprisingly was the hit of the concert. He has let me down in the past but we are talking 45 years ago at a little hole in the wall place called George's in San Rafael and for some reason he wanted to play on his techno computer and not sing. I listened to his new song dream goes on forever in 1975 from a New Mexico station that weirdly play in Colorado only during a certain time in the evening. Unfortunately he did not play the song. Since I'm not a techie I don't quite know why the sound was off. Daryl Hall had to move from his guitar to a keyboard because of tech issues and claimed to be rusty at key boards. He moved to the farthest corner on the stage that we could not see him physically. Was disappointed with the owners for not placing us closer for this charity donation. There were 4 boxed seats & we were placed in the last box. Watched the owner in front of us who invited other people from the main floor to boxes in front of us which was annoying since they did not pay because his young son invited them from lower floor seating to boxed seating. My guests were happy with the concert which made me happy but I flew 3000 miles cross country for this concert. I don't know if Hall was just having too good of a time because he was not very tight in his talent for the show. He was rambling and somewhat disorganized. Todd Rundgren really was the highlight of this event. He has maintained his vocals and sounded terrific. Tiny bit disappointed that he did not play, "a dream goes on forever" for that long ago 15-year-old girl. I loved a collaboration of Rundgren's, "Can we still might be friends" with Hall originated at Darryl's House. A really terrific new interpretation of a terrific old song. They did sing it but they cut it short and kind of abruptly.

Yelp
We recently went to a concert at the capitol theatre and had a really good night! Getting in was really quick and easy. The venue itself was small but really pretty. It's capacity is about 1800 people I think it said so it was definitely a different concert experience. I've been to some smaller venues and was pleasantly surprised that my feet didn't stick to the floor the whole night. The drink pricing was also more reasonable than other venues I've been to. They had some food choices such as popcorn and waffles!? I had already eaten so I didn't get any food. I got a modelo to drink and it was really bad. Usually I like it a lot and this was really sour/bitter tasting. Also something I think is important is that I guess it has some sort of AC in it but it wasn't very cold inside. It was mid 90s outside so I wasn't sure if I should wear shorts/pants if the ac was cranked or not. I went with shorts and was so glad I did because I was quite warm inside. Also, not sure if this was artist preference or theater but they were pretty strict about not recording the show on your phones.

Yelp
I still go to this place all the time-probably about 10 times/yr and I always have a great experience. The sound quality is amazing and they have a nice selection of drinks available as well. Some shows the general admission is seated and others is standing so make sure you know when you buy your tickets. Sometimes parking is tricky but if you arrive early you can generally find street parking and if not there are some paid lots around the corner of the venue. Make sure to get some great Peruvian food around the corner as well.

Yelp
The Cap is one of my all time favorite concert venues. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly inside. As well as being strict when needed to be. The ground floor has multiple bars and generally carries pizza and popcorn and other food/snack items for show nights. There are ample amounts of restrooms from floor to floor. I personally prefer the upstairs loge because it has seating and can be less crowded.

Yelp
We came out on a Friday night to check out the " Almost Queen" show. What a fantastic night. The music was amazing, the theatre is beautiful, and the opening band, Philadelphia Freedom (Elton John Tribute) was an unexpected but delightful surprise. The hubs and I had a great night...thank you The Capitol. We haven't been out to a show since COVID so this was so much fun. We loved it. They checked to see that everyone was vaccinated which was good but I was a little uncomfortable with being packed as we were. Honestly, I was a little surprised. I was expecting empty seats in order to allow people to spread out a bit.

Jen V.

Yelp
We have been roofied (drugged) there twice--two different occasions and I won't go back. Thought to let it go--but same happened to friends recently. Beware--one of the bartenders (female) has an issue. Wrote a letter to the theater and got no response. It was so bad we couldn't drive or remember our address after one glass of wine. They know this is happening and they won't do anything about it.

Yelp
I thought for the size of the space, everything was really well run. I liked that there were options for food and drink, and appreciated the inclusion of a coat check. There were some issues with crowd flow post show, but it wasn't more than other similar venues and I thought it was handled really well. The best part about the theater (for me) is that the floor is raked, so there's better visibility from standing room only even if there are lots of very tall people in the crowd. Also love how close it is to the train, it's very convenient to come here from NYC for a show!

Giselle P.

Yelp
Whoever brought the Wizard of Zenda to this theatre. Thank you. Cleveland Sailing clubs maybe?? Really enjoyed this documentary on sailor Buddy Melges.

Yelp
This theater is why we moved to Port Chester. The selection of music and consistency of awesomeness make this one of my favorite venues. Whether it be a last-minute ticket purchase or a well planned favorite band visit purchased way in advance, this place is what keeps our lives from ever being boring. The staff is great, the building is beautiful, and as I said - the Music menu is off the hook and never disappointing. It is worth it to say that they also sell sleeves of Oreos for six dollars as a snack. I mean, how can you go wrong?!
google avatar

Kathleen L.

Yelp
Charming older theater with little or no parking around it so be prepared to pay $25 per event if you're gonna park. The drinks are extremely expensive Manhattan prices, but the food is cheap enough and it's a nice venue to listen to a concert. The staff is friendly and why not support local event place.
google avatar

Jerry N.

Yelp
3 nights of Weir and Wolf.............who needs to say more. Drinks are $16 each with a measured one shot pour and lots of soda. Not many food options, one window with limited choices. LOVE the inside venue (but outdoor) smoking area

Yelp
I attended the Jethro Tull concert Nov 2, 2023. The ushers assigned to right orchestra were RUDE AND AGGRESSIVE towards myself, my friends as well as several patrons near me! The ushers reprimanded the couple in front of me for talking! And truth be told they were not loud lol. We were told we could video the last song. And when we began to video, another usher yelled at us to "put that away!!!" There is no reason to speak to anyone in such a rude and aggressive way. Wow. I WILL NEVER ATTEND ANYTHING AT THE CAPITOL THEATER IN PORT CHESTER, NY AGAIN.

Yelp
Bought tickets to see Rick Springfield, "VIP" seats A112 and A113. We assumed that we'd be front and nearly center. What a joke. We are seated behind the control panel 2/3 of the way to the back of the theater in the VIP section. What a joke. Couldn't be more disappointed.

Yelp
This is my absolute favorite place to see a show in southern Connecticut and New York Area. Theater is small for more intimate shows and acoustics for bands are great. Upstairs seating with great views and standing room general admission on the floor. Easy to get to the show with metro north train station across the street. Metered street parking for those who prefer to drive into Port Chester. Tip for anyone running late and in need for a quick cheap bite before the show, stop at the Costco food court within walking distance to the theater. I can't wait for my next visit to the Capitol Theater!

Yelp
Best place in the area!! Serious artists come here and I feel fortunate to live so close!

Yelp
This is the email that was sent last week that we never received any acknowledgment of... To Whom it May Concern, or Peter Shapiro, or Bruce Wheeler, Very disappointed in the way we were treated last night. As a loyal patron of the Capitol Theatre of the last 10 years seeing countless shows, my wife and I finally experienced the rumors of the continuous eroding reputation of the Cap's security staff. I'm emailing first before I post our 1 star reviews on Google and Yelp, contact the Better Business Bureau and share with the rest of the music community in Westchester. We had just got through check in and ordered our first drink when literallly 5 minutes later my wife realized she had left her phone in the car. This was our first night out with a babysitter for our 2 year old and obviously needed a way to communicate in case the sitter needed to get in touch with us. Security told her there was no re-entry. After calmly explaining the situation the security director was called over, got into her face and began to belittle and speak aggressively with her. He was verbally belligerent, hostile and crudely sarcastic. It was only when she broke down in tears that he relented and agreed to escort her to our car to get her phone. I had happened to walk down from our balcony seats to purchase some earplugs when I saw this man in her face yelling at her. By the time I realized what was going on, I had decided that we weren't going to patronize this establishment any longer and walked out on the street behind them. What she gave up with her dignity and self respect wasn't worth the few hundred dollars, two canned beers we had just purchased, and the newest/hottest jam band boy band we were coming to check out for the first time. Another case of toxic masculinity belittling a woman right in public. Though he wasn't aware her husband was right there witnessing this. When I caught up with the my wife and security officer heading to the car and told them we were leaving he got defensive and said "this was on me." Very nice. No accountability or responsibility for his behavior. He felt guilty enough to relent though so he knew he crossed the line when he made her cry. It's not only that that security at the cap treats its customers like prisoners, frisks them like they're TSA (ever here of metal detectors which every other respectable music establishment uses,) but on top of that they are disrespectful and unprofessional. It's got to stop. People come in with good vibes looking forward to see their favorite feel good jam bands and the vibe is instantly shaken the moment you walk up to security. The reputation is trickling down and as long term supporters of the venue we will no longer be attending as there as many other better run venues available. Before you send me back some corporate white washed statement about "tightening security measures" and "safety," consider how much this business gives up doing that in a style that makes its patrons feel uncomfortable, disrespected, and threatened (including mothers of young children.) There has to be some sort of recourse for re-entry when someone has a reasonable request... and just walked through few moments prior... After seeing hundreds of shows in venues across the country, I can suggest a security consultant to what has become a systemic problem there. No amount of profit can replace the true benefit of having a place like the cap here in Westchester which we're sure you know. Coming at the expense of people's joy however?... it's time for a review of the business model in its entirety...

Yelp
This is a nice and small theater. I saw Die Antwoord and Bo Burnham (live taping) here. Both were incredible shows! I just wish they had more good options because it's in such a convenient location! Get to the show early for good parking and grab some grub before walking over.

Yelp
Great place, incredible staff. Especially Julie (i think, sorry if thats wrong) who helped me and my girlfriend out during the Father John Misty show. She saved our night, many many thanks.

Yelp
My first time at this theater! For some reason, I always thought it was much further away from my house than it was. Took us about an hour and a half to get there from Union County. Trey Anastasio Band had a two night run and we managed to get tickets for the first night. No trouble finding the theater. No trouble parking. Good mexican food next door. Only snafu was upon entering, the usher advised that my ticket had already been scanned. Went to the box office and it was determined that all was well. But it was an aggravating hiccup, not going to lie. Beautiful theater. Lots of Grateful Dead memorabilia. As a veteran of 85 GD shows, I appreciated that. Good live band pre show. Good drinks. Helpful ushers. No lines at the can. What more could you ask for? Our seats were about as far away from the stage as you can get. Fourth to last row in the place. Unchartered terrain for me. I almost always sit close enough to see the band interact. I think the last balcony seat I occupied was for a Government Mule show at the Beacon in 2003. No worries though. The viewing was good from our seats and most importantly, the sound was excellent. It was a great show in a terrific venue. I'll most certainly be back.

S D.

Yelp
Smells really really really funky, beautiful theater tho. They really need to hire a carpet cleaner and if they could provide better food that would be great.
google avatar

Tim B.

Yelp
Saw Steeley Dan here and the seats were great. Garcia's handled the crowd for drinks very well. Staff was organized and friendly. Sound was very good for a small older venue. I'm going to be sure to follow their acts and return again soon. This place does a fantastic job!

Nya S.

Yelp
This venue is one of thee Mecca's of all indoor venues. There is something spectacular and majestic about this place. It is truly hard to explain this phenomenon. The sound there is unbelievably perfect! It's rare to find a venue where the sound ends up sounding better than the released sound boards. It was truly an honor to be there! My only grip is their security. I know they have their job to do, but some of them a rude and disrespectful. If you're going to search someone, everyone should be searched the same, unless there's a specific reason to go extra hard with the groping. I felt like I should have charged the woman for her unwarranted and unnecessary "searching procedure".
google avatar

Yelp
A remarkable and marvelous venue to see a concert. The theater offers great views from any seat or within the general admission standing room area. Don't worry about taking a trip to one of the many bars, since you won't miss a thing due to the many speakers and large HD TV screens that are offered while you grab a quick imbibe. The acoustics of this historic theater are phenomenal and the sound comes through clearly within any area of the theater. The theater has many drink options and is decorated with historic posters. The only drawback would be limited parking, which is on street or private lots, so plan ahead. Don't miss the opportunity to see a show at this venue!

Susan S.

Yelp
The cramped balcony is HORRIBLE - especially the stairs. There are NO HAND RAILS going up the steep aisles. That is bad enough. But the stairs are also uneven in certain places, making the situation extremely dangerous, especially in the dark. I saw several people nearly lose their balance. The only reason they didn't fall is because they either grabbed onto the back of someone's chair, or because someone managed to grab them and steady them. That place is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Someone could wind up seriously injured or dead from a head injury. It can't possibly be in compliance with building codes. It is incredible to me that this facility will not install hand rails on that balcony! How much could it possibly cost? To add safety and comfort for their customers...

Yelp
I knew this place existed but never had a show I was interested in going to see until this weekend where I saw the Marcus King band perform, I've been listening to their music for a while and didn't get to see them the last time they were in NY. When I found out it was going to be at the capital theater I was excited because I don't live far from here, it was either a 20 min metro north ride or a 20 min drive, we decided to drive and parking was not bad at all, they have a few paid lots nearby and street parking a few blocks away so it wasn't bad at all. The venue was easy to get into, we arrived 30 mins before the show time and showed our vaccine cards and tickets and were able to walk right in, it's a venue where every seat is good, we sat in the upper level third to last row and had a great view, this place has amazing acoustics, the music was crystal clear, it's a old venue but has great nostalgia, there are a lot of stairs and even stairs to get to the mens restroom on the second level, on the map I see that there is an area for the disabled so there is an option for that, all the staff was nice, they have drinks and snacks for a reasonable price. It's a great venue and also close to home for me, I would definitely come back.

Yelp

Yelp
Did you know that one of the country's most revered musical venues is in Westchester? The Cap is legendary -- multi-time host to the Grateful Dead, among others -- along the same lines as the Filmore in San Francisco. The biggest difference between the Cap and similar venues is that it's been completely renovated and a first-rate experience. Some of the acts that I've seen there include the Doobie Brothers, Umphrey's McGee, and Steely Dan. Parking and traffic can be a little difficult; take Metro North if possible and walk to the venue. There's a good Mexican restaurant next door that gets really busy but is solid. Garcia's bar inside the venue is also a good place to pre-party.
google avatar

Kelly M.

Yelp
Saw pigeons playing ping ping and I love this venue! It's almost 100 years old and has a great energy and layout. The bar has tons of screens so you don't miss any more of the concert. Easily my favorite venue
google avatar

Brian L.

Yelp
Glen Hansard performed here on a Friday night and this was my first visit to this venue. It's got the classic theater look and was set up without seats on the floor for standing room. It's a great venue for performances and the acoustics were good. Concessions were priced high like most venues but not outrageously so. A draft IPA was $8 and you can grab finger foods if hunger strikes. My one issue with the place would be the temperature inside. Before the floor was even half full several complaints could be heard throughout the crowd about how warm it is.
google avatar

Colette H.

Yelp
I love The Capitol! I love the fact that it's a small venue, easy to get to and you have a great view of the stage no matter where you're sitting. I've seen the B52s, Kevin Hart, Joe Walsh, Sarah McLachlin, etc. here. The sound and acoustics are great! The drinks are good too! The staff is friendly - the chairs are a little close together though. But this is an older venue and isn't that big to begin with. So imagine they want to fit in as many people as possible. I'll be back! I always love a good show at The Capitol!!
google avatar

Chad O.

Yelp
The venue is incredible and gets a murderers row of killer acts, but this review is 5 stars cause of the amazing effort of the staff. Specifically KJ with establishing the line order for those of us who wait hours before the show to get a rail spot and her overall positive and creative vibe. Literally I've attended hundreds of shows and I've never seen a venue more organized then what she did for the Joe Russo's Almost Dead Show this February. She was fair and actually seemed to care about our experience at the show and the venue. Thank you KJ - You are absolutely amazing and my new hero!!!
google avatar

Mario A.

Yelp
Very interesting Theater great architectural details on the inside sound is great we went there our New Years entertainment. It's certainly a great venue and I will return for another show for sure in the future. I would of given Capitol Theater a 4 star rating but the security in that place is highly questionable.
google avatar

Stu S.

Yelp
Decent sound system. Clean. Easily accessible. Paid over $100 for tickets, expect a venue on par with other performance venues. The seating is nothing more than folding chairs, numbered and bolted to the floor . . . and extremely uncomfortable after an hour or so. The HVAC system . . . do they have one? Wouldn't know as they never turned it on and it was sweltering during the concert. Given a choice to see a particular performer at other venues, this would likely be my last choice.

Yelp
The Cap. My first time here, and it definitely will not be my last. We headed up Saturday night, had some dinner before heading over. Others might not be so impressed with the lack of parking. Yes, it's annoying. But, it forced us to take metro north up there, something my fiance has never done (he's a Jersey boy), and the station is right across from the venue. Talk about convenience. The Capitol's web site also strongly recommends taking the train - good for them! Anyway, downtown Port Chester is super cute, and we didn't mind wondering around the area. Security was super fast and efficient. Waling in, it's gorgeous. The Cap was originally a movie theater in the 20s and it's retained a lot of it's old world glamour. Not everyone is a sucker for stuff like that, but I am. I do think they need to put up some velvet ropes for the line for coat check. It's cold, everyone wants to check their coat. It's a LONG line. There was a lot of line cutting, both intentionally and unintentionally. The intentional cutters, just didn't know where the line started... I feel like it would help those who are unaware of the cutting, and discourage some of the would-be intentional cutters. The bathroom, while clean, it did seem like it was having a bit of an identity crisis with half of it having the 1920s charm, marble dividers, even the locks on the doors, the sink, and than, on the other side of the bathroom, much more updated, different tile, more modern sinks and plastic stall dividers. Oh well. The bathroom worked, and that's what matters. The theater has taken out all the seats from the venue, with the exception of a small seating area (for disabled? people) in back of the theater on the right. We wanted to grab seats, but I do believe there is special ticketing for those seats, as well as the balcony. I liked the small platform in the back. For someone as short as me me, it provided the perfect view of the stage, with no gigantic people in front of me. Let's be honest, even average height people are gigantic compared to me. Sound was on point, not too loud, not to low, no feedback. Bartenders were super nice and fast. Staff seemed super chill. All in all a great time. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Love watching concerts here!!! It's so convenient and the seats upstairs can't be beat!! Wish they'd get more bands/artists to play here more often coz it's such a great venue!

Yelp
Wow! What an amazing music venue. Recently saw my first concert at the Cap and it was everyone thing I had hope for and more. First it's just a beautiful venue and the sound and lighting are top notch. Drink prices were very reasonable, easy access to many bars so wait time was minimal. We had seats in the balcony which had a great view and waitress service for drinks! Bathrooms were plentiful so again no waiting. Garcia's downstairs was also excellent as they had an opening band playing which was great and I loved all the Jerry Garcia memorabilia. Will be back again soon!!

Yelp
This is such a great venue to see live music! I have been here a bunch of times and it never disappoints. It is an intimate, smallish theater compared to many others and the sound is good no matter where you sit. The architecture and decor of this theater is interesting and welcoming. If you get a GA ticket then you will be standing on the floor which is the area closest to the stage. The floor is fun but if you're short forget about seeing anything unless you are right in front of the stage, lol. Personally, I like the Loge area. It's like a low balcony. Just be careful not to fall if you are dancing in that first row of the loge because I have come fairly close to falling right over and from what I've heard I'm not the only one! There's a bar on every floor and also a bar in Garcias, the connected bar-venue. Ladies: You will be pleased to know the bathrooms are always clean and always have toilet paper! If you are coming from NYC and using public transportation it is a piece of cake. You just take Metro North from Grand Central and if you go during rush hour the trains leave like every 10 minutes. Once you get to the Port Chester stop the theater is a quick 10 minute walk from there. I've always had a good experience at The Cap!

Yelp
Westchester's only rock venue. Here are the pluses and minuses of it +Street parking and Metro-North accessible +Plush and well furnished art-deco venue +Clean and modernized +Good sound system +Very good restaurants and bars to go to before or after show in Port Chester -strictest policy about taking photos/ filming concerts -this is a suburban venue with NYC ticket prices. You could see the same show for less at NJ & CT venues.

Yelp
Listen...I've seen a lot of shows in my time. Too many to count, but if you're counting...it's like 532. And the most important part of ANY show isn't who's playing, how they sound, who you're with, or any of that. Trust me when I tell you, the VENUE defines the show. An amazing venue can make the worst sounding pile of crap enjoyable, and a terrible venue can ruin a perfect performance. And to be honest, there about 10 time more venues than I hate than ones I love. I'm pretty picky I think, and at this point in my life I rarely find a venue that makes it to the top of the list. The Capitol Theatre did, and does...and is. Everything from the location of the place, the lobby, the layout of the bars, the fancy staircases and chandelier, literally...everything makes this place awesome. Staff was some of the friendliest I've ever dealt with, drinks were well made and reasonably priced, even the parking was awesome. Of course, the 2 most important things about a venue are the views and the sounds. Granted, I was only here once, and it was an acoustic show...but we did enough roaming around to get a good feel for the sound. And it was amazing, everywhere. Same with the views. We were in row 5 on the floor, so...obviously good view there. But we went up to the few of the balconies and higher seats and literally couldn't find a bad seat in the house. The place has like an amazing old world charm, and it's really one not to be missed. If you ever get the opportunity to experience it, I'd suggest you jump at it. And if you decide to create yourself an opportunity...then even better!

Yelp
I've been here twice as of tonight and the 2 1/2-hour drive is worth it! I've been to more places than I can count for live music and this has to be one of my favorites. The stage and sound are professional but the space is smaller than others. The events they hold are way better here because it feels more personal. The staff are also kind and attentive. There unfortunately is no parking lot but you can find street parking. I'll be back soon!

Yelp
This place is one of my all time FAVORITE venues to see bands! First of all, it's beautiful inside. It's a historic old theater built in 1926. It always has great current performing artists. It's thoughtfully laid out & well designed. There are 2 bars: one on each level which is great. (That doesn't include the attached "Garcia's" which has a bar that covers the entire wall). It's the perfect size venue in my opinion. Max capacity is around 1800. There is fabulous seating upstairs & downstairs. You can see the stage easily from every seat. There's also 4 flat screen tv's of the bands playing live in the upstairs bar. There are plenty of restrooms everywhere which is a huge plus. (I think a total 4 sets of bathrooms including the ones in Garcia's. The staff overall is friendly & efficient. I wish there were more great historic venues like this one in the US.
