Where to Drink Guinness in Central Florida This Holiday Season | Eater

"Have one short conversation with the convivial owners of this College Park pub and you’ll forget you’re in Central Florida. The family that manages The Castle has been running pubs in Ireland for generations, and brings their brand of Emerald Isle hospitality to Orlando. You’ll find rugby, soccer, and other Irish sports on TV, lending themselves perfectly to the Irish experience. The immersion goes a step further when you have a Guinness sitting in front of you at the bar." - Matthew Meltzer

Nice place and staff, but... The fish and chips would of been great but dish had absolutely no flavor, tasted like the fish was soaked for days in water. The chips were good and so were the tacos. Here's the kicker, fish and chips, tacos, two beers and a soda plus tip= $71 dollars...... $21 fish and chips $10 beer and soda was $4... Definitely not worth the bill.. don't have a problem paying for good food but this wasn't it, and the beverage overpricing was crazy...

I have now been here twice and each time has been enjoyable. The atmosphere is wonderful, quiet, and aesthetically pleasing. The staff is attentive and friendly and the food is top notch and served in a timely manner. Specifically, I’ve had the shepherds pie, soda bread and chowder. My friend treated me for the first time on my birthday and they let me choose a dessert on the house in honor of the occasion. Let’s just say, their bread pudding is the best I’ve had! Today, I brought another friend of mine back and we had the same lovely experience. I also appreciate that they have their own parking lot so I don’t have to park on the street if I don’t want to.

My sister, Dalia treated me for my birthday to The Castle with our mami!! The food is Amazing, the desserts are delectable & the Guinness beer & Irish coffee was just right! Our server Ethan was spot on with all of his recommendations & service!! Thank you Ethan for making my birthday memorable! We met the owner & chef Jose! Very personable place! We will definitely be returning very soon🥰 February 2, 2025

Having made the trip from Mt Dora specifically to see the Folk Music Jam, it was a little disappointing that barely any seating afforded a view of the group. 😢 Thankfully, we could still hear them. Our server, Harmony, took outstanding care of us! Not only did she make great food suggestions, she even insisted on having a beer repoured because it didn't look right. The look of the place is beautiful, with cozy booth seats and bar seating. The sound of the session completed the experience. My group's food was good, but my fish and chips were merely okay. My wife's Ruben tasted great though.

We absolutely loved the vibe of The Castle - it reminded me so much of the cozy Irish and English Pubs I've visited in Europe. The workers there were so welcoming, always ready to help with a smile on their faces. Just like in London, we couldn't resist ordering the classic Fish n Chips, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The dish came with mashed peas and perfectly cut fries that were just divine. We couldn't help but snap a few photos to remember the delicious meal. It was such a treat to enjoy a fantastic meal! All in all, a truly delish experience!

Ethan was our server, very attentive and friendly. The food came out a little slow, but it was happy hour. The Reubens were good but needed kraut. The slain chicken sandwiches came out a little burnt. I ordered a fish plate as a replacement and it was very good. The music playing was Bruno Mars, it should be Irish music. What appears to be a stage sits upon the front corner, I believe that they a live band starting at 8pm. We finished off the evening with a chocolate Guinness cake and Creme brulee which were very good. Overall I think it's as good or better than and cheaper than Raglan Road in Disney springs.

From the service, decor, food, drinks and sports! You can’t go wrong coming here. We ordered the Brussels Sprouts for an appetizer very delicious and crispy the bacon bits in it were juicy. 🥓 The kids meal come with in house made crispy treat made with lucky charms! Soooo good yes I had to snag a bite of my daughters, LOL. The bangers and mash, well there was NO left overs to take home. Very well balanced and the taste is spectacular. Someone at my table had the Shepherds Pie that comes with a side of the soda bread. 🍞 YUM! 🤤 I ordered the Espresso Martini and it did not disappoint. Wish we had room for the desserts! Thank you for an amazing all round dining experience, we will be back soon 🙌

11/2024: Been here 4 times now and I like this place in general. Good beer, good vibe, beautiful place, clean, nice servers, etc. Live music sometimes. The food is still hit and miss. Fish and chips are excellent, fries and most appetizers are great, wings were okay - some crispy and juicy while some dried out. The Irish stew wasn't really a stew, but more like meat and mash with some sauce, and the lamb was way overcooked / tough. And still think everything is a dollar or two higher than it should be. 3/2024: Beautiful place! Fancy for pub feels. Well lit, nice materials, very clean, even the chairs are nice. Friendly people. Food is ok so far. Chicken was fried a little heavy / oily for my taste, but tasty. Fries are fantastic. Wasn't crazy about their chowder, which was thinner and not as creamy as other Irish seafood chowder I've had, more red too like Manhattan, but weaker. Curry is nothing special, curry fries weren't as good as Harp and Celt. Will be back to try their food a few more times to get a better gauge. A bit pricey for what you're getting, especially beer prices, but also salads with protein. But kids menu prices are appropriate.

Yelp
I have to admit, I wasn't very hopeful about eating here when O saw that the only vegetarian/vegan option was a black bean burger. Black bean burgers are often too mushy or spicy or bland or a strange combination of all three. But NOT SO at The Castle!! The black bean burger was flavorful, the patty didn't fall apart, and I'm pretty sure it's made in-house. If not, I will need the brand ASAP. We also had boxtys and irish soda bread which were both fabulous. Some of the best soda bread I've ever had, personally. The restaurant is pretty spacious inside with plenty of room for live music and events. The cocktails I tried (ginger snap and cold brew irish coffee) were delicious. Our server was as attentive as she could be considering there was a big event the night we went. We also met one of the owners, Paul, briefly as he came to our table to ask how everything went. That's always a nice touch and he seemed like he was very proud of his business. I can't wait to return and I will be bringing friends!

Yelp
Did someone say Beer? Show me a better place to get a beer than an Irish Pub! Ok, maybe a cruise, pool, beach, strip club, while getting one of those big lottery checks, as a celebration for a new car on the Price is Right, high school cafeteria, your own craft brewery, heaven, while grocery shopping, baseball game, when you're 73 and your 24 year old partner brings you one (thinking of Bill Belichick), football game, playing poker, end of a marathon, after cutting grass, hell (it has to be pretty refreshing, right?). But "Irish Pub" has to be in there somewhere... This place on Edgewater Drive in College Park fits the bill of a classic Irish Pub though. Lots of Irish Beers on tap, typical Irish Fare, and crappy parking (seriously, don't take a big truck). They had my favorite beer on tap (non-irish Weihenstephan) which is always a plus. I ordered the Reuben and it wasn't my favorite... the bread could have used some more toasting, the meat was a bit tough (like a drunk Irishman), and the kraut was with red cabbage. It wasn't what I was expecting. They had other stuff like Shephard's Pie, Fish and Chips, Bangers and Mash and some americanize foods (Burgers, etc.). The fries were friggin' amazing though! I highly recommend and I am super duper picky on fries. Service was amazing with the Irish Lad with a thick accent that took me a while to get used to. It caught me off guard at first, but he was awesome and check on the table quite often.

Yelp
Lack of attention to customers. Waited 10 minutes at the bar for service - no one came. Seems like their service aptitude has fallen since opening. Many employees mulling around with MNI direction. My bet is they are closed in 6-9 months if they don't start working on their service.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place the day before St Patrick's Day. Parking is limited but lots of street parking nearby. As expected, the place was crowded and had many reserved tables already, but we were able to snag a two seater on the front patio as a walk-in. Service was quick and our server was attentive throughout the meal and gave suggestions. There was a small band inside playing music, although it was kind of hard to hear them outside and they didn't play for very long. I was looking forward to the special st patty's menu but unfortunately I did not enjoy my Corned Beef and Cabbage dish. Although there was a lot of meat, it was very fatty. The cabbage wasn't as flavorful as I would have liked. I did enjoy the Irish soda bread and the little side of "gravy" that I put on the rest of the meal to make it better. I understand they had a limited menu and were mass producing for the special weekend, but I wish my food experience was much better. However, my companion did enjoy the Sheppard's Pie and didn't have complaints.

Yelp
I completely forgot to pose a review, but we went on Saint Paddy's day. We had an absolute blast, even though we had to stand outside next to the street for almost 2 hours waiting on a table. It was still fantastic. We ordered multiple drinks from the bar and listen to the live music. My fish and chips were absolutely some of the best I've had in a long time and I love the batter that they use. We will for sure be back.

Yelp
This is a beautiful Irish pub with great food and service. A guitarist was there when we dined which was great. I ordered the sheppard's pie made with beef and lamb. You could really taste the lamb flavor and the mashed potatoes were so creamy. My husband had the bangers and mash. He really liked the sausages and I thought the gravy was very tasty. The bar service was quick and our server made sure we always had everything we needed. Parking isn't hard in this area of college park. Lots of street parking or the bank lot next door after hours worked for us.

Yelp
The Castle accommodated a group of 20 of my friends and I last minute and did a fantastic job. They reserved the side room for us and gave us an exceptional server, Dani. She had a great attitude and was very attentive. Most of us ordered wings and were happily satisfied. The restaurant is beautiful and comfortable to stay at for a while. My only critique is that it was loud and humid, but also it's Florida and we had 20 people in our corner. ‍ I'd come back for those wings!

Yelp
Visited The Castle for a friend's birthday on Saturday during their 1 year anniversary celebration. They were busy but our server was great. She was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Food was tasty. I had the filet, one friend had the bangers and mash and a couple others had salads, which were huge! The ambiance is what you'd expect in an authentic Irish pub. The Castle never disappoints!

Yelp
Very neat and clean interior! Everything seem new! I tried the old restaurant at this location and loved it so I thought I would try the new business which is The Castle. The Irish cuisine is really good and really fresh. I have the soup of the day which is sausage and potato soup. The sausage tasted fresh and smelled fragrant. I had the Rueben with fries today. The meat was sliced mid sized and I really liked the pickled ingredients on it. Samuel was my server and suggested I tried the Celtic old-fashioned, which had a slight hint of chocolate taste. Samuel also made a point to remember my name, and all of the patrons names that were near him. The combination of all these things I mention make this an easy once a week type of place. it is nice enough for a night out for two and it seem to be great for the small good weather days we have in Florida

Yelp
Came for the Glenn Howerton Happy Hour and ended up finding a new place to frequent! Though it was busy--of course. The event didn't take over the whole restaurant. We were able to enjoy a really pleasant meal while the bar was full of visitors for the event. The food was excellent. We got the chicken wings and stew and both were great. The only thing I'd wish for was a bit more lamb or beef in the stew. The service was really great. We were seated right away (we had a reservation but with an event you never know!). Our server was so attentive, even giving us extra time when my husband was at the event--shout out to Kareem! I was so impressed at his ability to navigate the busy space with such ease and still provide great service. I'm so glad we found this place and I can't wait to revisit!

Yelp
What a fun find! I've had this location bookmarked for a little bit, but we don't get over into College Park too often, so it kept getting missed. We did however pop over to that area for another event nearby and this was the perfect chance to make a stop in. There is plenty of street parking nearby and it's easy enough to get into with a good amount of seating inside. The menu has a good mix of options and although they did not have any printed kid's menus, they did offer us a few options that were kid friendly! I had the pasta, and it had a good flavor and a solid amount of lobster in it as well. I tried my friend's order of the Irish Stew and honestly it was my favorite dish at the table and when we go back I'll be getting that instead! They did have a couple of interesting looking desserts on offer, but we were too full to try it this go round, so we'll have to do it next time! Overall: A Solid experience with a fun Irish style pub in the College Park area!

Yelp
The service and cocktails were great! The food however, left much to be desired. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were instant mashed potatoes and everything that we tried was bland and I was wishing I had a salt and pepper shaker on the table which was not provided.

Yelp
There's no doubt in my mind why this authentic styled Irish Pub has such great star potential. Had the opportunity to enjoy lunch at this fine establishment and I fully enjoyed it. Stepping in your greeted with an inviting ambiance that makes you feel like you've just stepped into a pub in Dublin. There's an outside seating area but I wanted to cozy up to the bar. Let's start with the adult beverages - Since I was already at the bar social norms concede a libation must first be indulged - so I complied. Ordered a pint of Smith Wicks (properly pronounced as "Smiddicks" for those not in the know). Good start... The Waterford Wings with a Guinness Glaze??!!! But of course...well done please. And they didn't disappoint. For the main course I had the Reuben sandwich. Gotta say I liked it very much and their fries are addicting. Overall I enjoyed the experience and you will too!!

Yelp
Andrea was amazing!!! Went on st Patrick's day which of course was chaotic, but Andrea took care of us from the moment we walked in. She was obviously busy, but still made us feel prioritized and helped us grab a table. While waiting, she still took our beers orders and truly made what should've been stressful- anything but! If I owned a restaurant I'd want employees like Andrea. Truly unbelievable. Food was very very good! 10/10.

Yelp
New kid on the block @thecastleirishpub has blown us away with the trifecta all customers long for: great service, amazing decor/ambiance and top tier menu choices. We stopped in during their brunch hour slot, and although the place was relatively packed, there was still seating available for our party. The vibes are cozy, unfussy and inviting. Our server was also honestly the sweetest and most accommodating we've had in a long time (Hi Savannah). We ordered: the kitty hoynes reuben fritters (apps), hoynes fish and chips, montecristo, and burger and mac n' cheese (kids menu). Our drink of choice was a Paddy's Paloma and we highly recommend you try this one . Definitely go check this place out. *They are located at : 2625 Edgewater Dr, Orlando, FL 32804

Yelp
An Irish restaurant, YES PLEASE. A friend and I stopped in on Sunday for lunch. There are many tables to sit outside, however we sat in the main dining room. The interior decor is lovely and gives you all the vibes of an Irish pub. I ordered the margarita on the cocktail menu that had raspberries muddled in it, and it was SOOOOO GOOD. It's one of the best margaritas. For food, I ordered the Monte Cristo off the brunch menu provided. It was so good. The raspberry sauce to dip was a great touch. My friend ordered the burger and she said is was very tasty. Service here was very fast and felt like our server took such good care of our table. We enjoyed reading the story behind The Castle and bringing a touch of Ireland to College Park. There are many tvs here so it's a great spot to watch any sports games. I can't wait to come back.

Yelp
I love an Irish pub and shepherd's pie made with lamb is one of my favorite dishes. I visited during the NFL playoffs and surprisingly they were not busy. I make shepherd's pie at home so I am kind of picky. The Castle has a good version. It is made with lamb, carrots and peas. The peas were not mushy and held up well in this casserole type dish. The mashed potatoes did not seem baked but a layer of cheese was melted on top. This was a large portion and the potato to meat ratio was good in that it was mostly casserole instead of potatoes. There was something about the spice/flavor that seemed to be missing from the dish but it was a minor issue. I had two meals from the leftovers. The pie is served with a slice of soda bread. Like most soda bread it was kind of dry. I asked the server and she brought out a small pot of whipped butter which upgraded this to excellent. I was invited to choose my table by the host and I had very attentive service from Brianna D during my visit. There are high tops, booths and lounge type seating. They have an additional room with tables which seemingly could be used for a small party. There is parking behind the restaurant but you pull in one way off Edgewater and exit the other side onto W Winter Park street so I had to go around the block. You travel in front of the restaurant and take an immediate right into the small lot. Street parking may be available.

Yelp
What a great and authentic Irish pub. Harmony, our server was lovely and so nice. Harper and Abbey, the hostesses were adorable. The fish and chips were so good! My hubby loved the bangers and mash and my teens thought the wings were amazing. We will be back!!

Yelp
Very pretty Irish bar. I will give credit where it's due...it's cute inside. Food was subpar. Pricing was high for what we got. And our server seemed bothered for anything we asked for. There's just way too many restaurants in Orlando I rather spend my money at. Needless to say, I will not be returning.

Yelp
Great addition to College Park! I've been to the castle a couple times now. There's always been a good crowd of people but able to get a nice table right away. The staff has always been super helpful and kind. One night, they had live music which was fun. They have a great cocktail menu as well as beer and wine. I got a Paloma on my last visit that was yummy. As far as food goes, I like starting off with curry fries. The fries alone are good but the curry really adds to it. I've tried the fish and chips- done right and a generous serving. I also have had the shepherds pie- enough for 2-3 meals. Make sure you save room for dessert! The bread pudding is sooo delicious. Parking can be tight in the lot but it's not difficult to find street parking. All in all, a good spot for some tasty Irish food. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Came by for dinner and didn't realize jazz festival was going on but was very happy to be able to walk out and enjoy the shows. Since there was an event the menu was limited but still was able to find some yummy dishes. I stared with the house salad which was crisp and the dressing delicious. For my dinner I ordered the Shepard's pie and a side of curry fries. I asked for the sauce on the side but they must've forgotten. The Shepard's pie was very tasty and had great flavors. The fries were a bit too salty for my liking. Our server was very nice and attentive. The love the decor of the pub as it made me feel as if I was in London again. Since it was the event the bathroom lines were way too long, will have to return to try the regular menu.

Yelp
As a Yelp reviewer, I want to give good ratings. I love great restaurants. I love my Orlando city. I want culture and cuisine. And I'm overjoyed when new places pop up. So, when I first spotted The Castle in College Park, I was mega pumped. As an old school American, of entirely British descent, Irish and English pubs are a soft spot of mine. Naturally, from the outside walking in, The Castle looks imposing and gorgeous. Hopes were high. And the interior spaces did not disappoint. I can say with 100% confidence that this pub is elegant, spacious and aesthetically a home run. It's absolutely gorgeous and a great place for happy hour, working for hours, lunch, dinner, etc. Truly, it's stunning and comfortable. Also, the drinks are impressive. Even the draught beer selection has some Irish selections I've never heard of (and trust, I'm a beer snob.) Also, the people are smashing. They are great. Everyone we met was cheerful and helpful. They really are happy you are there and want the place to succeed. Now, let's get to why it has 3 stars. Sadly. The food. I so wish it was awesome. And I do truly believe this place will figure it out. Remembers, it's new. But pub food is an art form. It's time tested. And meant to be exactly what it sounds like. I think what's happening here is an attempt to elevate Irish pub with an American culinary upgrade. And something's getting lost in translation. Curry Chips - These are french fries with a yellow curry sauce. Any proper British pub serves them. Here the chips (fries) were overly artistic and dense. You want curry chips to be simple and tasty and perfect with beer. The ones I received from The Castle were bulky, didn't really taste like french fries and the curry sauce was sorta goopy, rather than runny. This resulted in a heavy bite, rather than a light bite. And hence, the fries staying on the plate, the curry thick sauce soaking into them, and a bunch of things I didn't finish. The flavor, texture and consistency all missed the mark. Reuben - Again, heavy, greasy and too cheesy. Plus, it came with a side of fries, even though we had already ordered fries. Maybe ask, "would you like a different side?" But yet again, here was a mound of those formidable fries. The reuben was not noteworthy and not something to be ordered again. Shepard's Pie - Our other friend had ordered this a few days prior and informed me that it was runny and non-traditional. I can't verify this one for sure, but my friend is an honest, nice guy who lives in College Park. I'm sure he wanted to say something nice, but the food left him wanting. In general, The Castle is a 5-star restaurant and pub waiting to find its form, and currently serving 3-star food. Yes, they can improve. Yes, they will. It's an amazing spot with amazing people. Certainly worth a visit, but, be cautious before diving into the menu with aplomb.

Yelp
Fantastic! I have been a frequenter of the restaurants that have preceded The Castle in this space. All have been wonderful. The Castle continues the tradition of a great neighborhood gathering spot in the heart of College Park. Draught beer available are - nice variety.'of particular interest was the Smothwicks. Back in the '00's I fell in love with this simple tasty beverage on draft. Just wasn't the same out of a bottle or can, but I could not find it on draft anywhere. Eureka, Smithwick's on tap! As delicious as I remember. This is the only beer I ever described as delicious. But enough of that. The food is perfectly executed. Just what you want in an Irish eaterie (says the guy who had never been to Ireland). I always felt an affection for Irish culture. My name translated means from the crag (rock) in Irish. And I had a small tapestry emblazoned with a traditional Irish blessing on my wall. We shared curry fries, shepherd's pie bites and fish and chips. All perfect. All delicious. They have a regular in me! The food behind the bar weee busy, but available to serve whatever. We wanted and answer any question. Slante!!

Yelp
What a great find in the College Park area! I went to The Castle for a holiday team lunch and it was wonderful. I love Irish pubs and food so discovering this place was a win. We were a large group and we started with appetizers: the Irish soda bread, Ashford Flatbread and Shepherds Pie bites, all delicious but my favorites were the bread and the bites. So good! Food: most of us got the Fish and Chips ( a typical choice for me when in a pub) other dishes included the Reuben, bangers and mash, Kilkenny salmon, French onion soup and more I can't remember. The overall consensus was that we loved the food. Drinks: wide selection of spirits and beer. Right now they have a holiday drink menu. I tried the Santa's Spritz and it was so refreshing - a 10/10. The Sugar Cookie drink was a bit too sweet for those who ordered. Our server was super helpful navigating the large group plus other tables. The restaurant is ample and has outdoor seating too. Notes: parking is challenging, there's a small parking lot behind shared with other businesses in that building. Most parking is taken over by a doctor's office, so make sure you are not parked on a tow away zone. Street parking is also available. They have Pepsi products.

Yelp
It looks small on the outside but don't be fooled, this place is huge on the inside! They have lots of TVs for watching football (the real kind) and even live singing sometimes as well! After hearing some nostalgic accents I knew the fish and chips would be legit and so I had to order them and was pleasantly surprised! Even the mushy peas were good! Bartender was amazing and helped convince me the old fashioned was the way to go. I love this spot and will def go back for some rowdy games with my jersey on! Go Man City!

Yelp
A group of around 16 of us showed up on a Wednesday evening around 7:20 - only two servers!! Excellent service!! Drink orders all came at once - as did the food. As delicious as always - all served with a smile and an eagerness to make sure we were well taken of. Always a great place to go re the ambiance - from the UK (tho many years ago), I remember the "feel" of the local pub, and The Castle has that in plenty. Absolutely will not hesitate to go back with the group. BRAVO, Y'ALL!!

Yelp
So glad we tried The Castle! Everything on the menu looked so good and we couldn't decide what to get so we got a bunch of appetizers to split. The Rueben fritters were AMAZING, would get those again for sure! Also the shepherds pie bites, couldn't get enough of them, so good! The ambiance was also very welcoming and child friendly which was refreshing as we brought our daughter with us. Overall would come back again!

Yelp
My sister and I had an amazing time here! We are actually from syracuse originally and were SO excited to see "kitty hoynes fritters" on the menu and realized the owners also own kitty hoynes in syracuse! That's when I knew the food was going to be awesome. I loved my burger, loved my fries and I even got gravy on the side to dip them into. My sister enjoyed her fish. It was a busy night with a party of 12, but they were able to get us in right away. The place looks transformed and beautiful on the inside. You can tell they know what they're doing ! We will definitely be back.

Yelp
We happened to get hungry while shopping in College Park. We decided to try this place for the first time. Service was friendly and we got seated right away. We started with the Irish soda bread. It was ok. One of my pet peeves is bread that is served cold. I think the bread may have been better if it was warm. I wouldn't pick that again in the future. My friend ordered the bangers and mash, and really enjoyed it. I ordered the Castle Burger. It was huge with a bacon jam and fried egg on top. I wish the egg was a little runny. Overall a decent burger, but not great. It cured my hunger, but nothing to rave about.

Yelp
Food is fantastic Service is very fast, had our meals come out before we even had a chance to finish our appetizer and drinks came out extremely quick. Staff is very friendly Only downside is it's a little loud, but it makes you feel like you're in a true Irish pub in that sense. Music on Friday and trivia is on Tuesdays!

The stew quality was not like it used to be. The place was full lots a drinking going on so if that's what you're looking for the music is good.

Yelp
It was nice to see what has come of the space after Rusteak. The design of everything was super well done. Our waitress was very kind and helpful recommendations about the menu. I had the Traditional G and T to drink which was light and just a little fruity, I would definitely order again. The table shared the Curry Chips and Whitefish Dip, the whitefish dip was really well seasoned with capers and onions but the curry chips were definitely my favorite of the two with a slightly sweet curry and thick cut potatoes. For the main we all ended up ordering the Chicken Sandwich and everyone really enjoyed it. The chicken thigh is super well seasoned with topped with an apple slaw on thick toasted bread. Highly recommend. Over all it's a great place and I can't way to go back and try the fish and chips.

Yelp
First, the building is deceiving. It always looks packed but there is plenty of seating in the back that can't be seen from the street. The fact this place is in College Park also provides adequate safe and convenient street parking at all times. The happy hour specials are half off their specialties. I had two of the Back 9 and they were fantastic. Really light drink that did not interfere with any of my food tastes. The party also got a margarita, Paloma, and a draft beer. The drinks were delivered pretty timely considering how busy they were. The detail in each drink was very noticeable. From the fruit garnish to the subtle ingredients in each specialty drink, I highly suggest a visit for trying a couple of them on happy hour. The food portions are the kind that will fill up even the biggest of stomachs. Almost everyone had some leftovers for a second meal the next day. The food's presentation was excellent. The food all came together and there were no problems with food being too hot or cold. Again, we were there during a busy time and this was very good service. The only thing missing was some Irish music in the background. However, if you are an F1 or golf fan, this is the place for you! The building is fairly large but it's also loud. Which can make it difficult to have a conversation with a party larger than six people without yelling. Also, the pricing for each course was not bad at all for such a unique menu. All in all for a family night out in College Park this location will not break the bank.

Yelp
Love this place! Visited Ireland earlier this year and have been missing the pub culture - and The Castle delivers just that. Upon entering the first thing that struck me is the beautiful decor - dark green painted walls, dark wooden accents, and plentiful liquor bottles on well-lit glass shelving. For food, we tried the shepherd's pie, castle burger, and the soda bread - all delicious! The shepherd's pie was definitely the stand out and tasted very much like I remember in Ireland. They also have a lengthy beer list with plenty of options that you'd expect (Guinness, Smithwicks, etc) as well as craft and domestic lists - something for everyone. One of my favorite parts was the live music - the performer played a great selection of bar tunes and Irish favorites. Can't wait to come back and try some additional entrees as well as the desserts which sounded incredible.

Yelp
I think that the waiters went above and beyond for what they served for my family on St. Patrick's Day. It was amazing.

Yelp
Everything in this pub comes straight from Ireland! We went this past year and loved when we walked into this one including the way they treat you was how it was in Ireland. The pub is owned by two brothers from Kilkenny. The best part is they also have Kilkenny beer and there's like only two other pubs that have that! We tried the shepherds pie as well and it was a mix of beef and lamb. Great taste and everything is made from scratch. Would highly recommend!

Yelp
Extremely enjoyable first visit to this restaurant. Three friends gathering for a meal and social time on late afternoon. While waiting for others to arrive, I sat at the bar for a cocktail, and I had very friendly and welcoming service (by Mary). I chose the Ginger Snap, which was both unique and refreshing. Definitely a ginger taste and might not be for everyone. We were seated at a great table location, which we learned was actually the stage when they have live performances. Our server was Shannon, and she was great throughout. The menu is not extremely large, but it doesn't need to be, as there are selections to please everyone. Two of us chose Fish & Chips, and one ordered Bangers & Mash. We all loved our choices. Portions were large and filling. Parking could get a bit tricky when busy. I know I'll be returning again soon, and I can very easily recommend the restaurant. Go and enjoy!!

Yelp
Great new spot in College Park! New owners did a beautiful job remodeling this place; the new bar is beautiful and the restaurant is more open and inviting. We went in around 8 on a Saturday and we're lucky to score a table with a short wait. It was lively when we arrived and stayed that way until we left at 10. Great selection of Irish food and then some. We really enjoyed the corned beef fritters! The brussels were covered in a thick goopy sauce that wasn't our favorite... and the fish dip was good but nothing special. We'll be back to try other menu items soon. Service was friendly and efficient.

Yelp
Great addition to the neighborhood. Made sure to get there for opening day. The decor is fantastic. All imported from Ireland and assembled on site. The space is very deceptive. Once you're inside it seems so much bigger than it looks from outside. Plenty of tables, booths and bar seating. Staff were great and seemed to work well together. Sitting at the bar we had multiple staff stop by and check on us to see if we needed anything. Even the owner, Paul, did the rounds and introduced himself. Unfortunately we got there a little late for food, but we were told that they had sold out of the shepherds pie today which is a good sign. It's open 7 days a week from 11 - 2am. Starting next week there will be a late night bar menu. Live music will be every Friday and Saturday night inside on the stage area. I'm looking forward to going back and getting some food. I definitely see this as my new local go to. Highly recommended

Yelp
I trusted my fellow yelpers and tried out the highly rated Irish with my date. Wonderful ambiance when we walked in-I felt like I just got off the plane in Dublin. We started our meal with the Curry Chips (not pictured). A delicious and cozy app. We ordered a 20 oz Guinness to share, and it was a good companion the whole meal. We then each ordered our own entrée. I chose the castle burger-a fun take on a classic American delicacy. My date chose the classic shepherds pie-equally delicious. We capped our meal with the bread pudding. We found this to be a great end to our lovely experience. Our waiter, Ethan made the whole experience wonderful and we definitely want to come back!

Yelp
I love this bar. It feels like it's been here for years. I'm a huge fan of Irish pubs and this one is exceptional. A very cool interior- you can tell they took a lot of care in making it look right. The menu is definitely on the pricier side. They have a pretty good happy hour from 4-6 featuring cocktails and beer. We had the Celtic Old Fashioned ($15), a Guinness ($8.50), Mick's Margarita ($13) and a snakebite ($8.50). All were delicious. For food, I had the Blarney Burger ($16) and the Traditional Shepherd's Pie ($17). The burger was solid, but a bit dry; a sauce of some kind may help that problem. The fries were incredible - breaded and well seasoned. The shepherd's pie had good presentation with tasty soda bread on the side, but the Guinness gravy was a little bland. I sat at the bar and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Overall, a wonderful addition to the neighborhood and I'm looking forward to coming here for years to come.

Yelp
The absolute best bar in town! Fantastic food no matter what you get. Extremely kind staff and ownership who are always there. Love The Castle!

Yelp
I ordered the prime rib for the Sunday roast dinner special. True, I did not ask the price. But it was the worst prime rib I've ever had in my life. It was very tough - part of it was super rare and part of it was well done and a lot, a lot of fat. It came with mashed potatoes that were not seasoned at all and brussels sprouts that were hard. I asked for gravy for the mashed potatoes because they had no seasoning on them and when we got the bill, they charged me $2.50 for just the gravy. The total price for the prime rib was $38! If I had known it cost that much. I never would've ordered it, and I certainly would have sent it back.
