I had never been to a cat cafe before, and I found this to be a great experience. I thought the cost was perfect. I was able to visit with the cats for an hour, and payment also included one thing off their menu. I ordered one of their lattes and it was delicious. There was quite a few kitties there when I visited, so I was able to pet and play with many while I was there. I have 4 cats of my own at home, but I was visiting San Diego and was missing my babies dearly, so this ended being a great way for me to get some kitty time in while being out of town. Everyone here was super nice, and if I am ever back in the area again I will definitely be making a trip to visit this cat cafe again. Thank you for a great experience!

Google
I love cat cafés so much, they really provide a relaxing hour away from any busy day, and it's a wonderful way to introduce adoptable furbabies. San Diego's is no different - clean, calm, and professional. The rules are very clear regarding your interaction with the cats, and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. If you have any extra time while visiting San Diego, I highly recommend taking a cozy break here.

Google
My fiancé took me here for my birthday. We already have cats, however one can never pet too many cats This place is built for cats first and humans second. It’s perfectly comfortable for us but there are some amazing custom cat trees that I wanted to climb. Plenty of toys and there are spots for cats to relax out of reach of humans

Google
This was my 1st but definitely not the last experience going into a cat cafe. Upon arriving no greetings nor smiles from the baristas. They look like they were bothered to be spoken to not friendly whatsoever that was the 1st red flag. Secondly the coffee was disappointing 😞. 2nd red flag the male caregiver was just too stern and didn't seem friendly either. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone especially coming from a different state or if your on a family vacation like myself avoid it. Find another cat cafe but this one. The cats made my day they made me forget those concerns at this location. Those fur babies make all negative vibes disappear. Dear Owner please make this place much more welcoming and not feel like your walking into a jury summons its not good buisness at all.

Google
If you love cats and in the San Diego Gas Lamp, stopping here for an hour is a must. They're coffee bar/Cafe is real good also. Entry into the cat petting area is around $20 for an hour. Place has been around for 10 years. They have a Live Webcam on YouTube if you want to check it out beforehand. 😺

Drinks were good. Barista and staff were really nice and informative. Logan was awesome on informing us about the cats and chatting us up. However, once the owner came in, the vibes were immediately off. Felt very uncomfortable and he should treat his employees with more respect.

I've seen cat cafes on TV and on social media, I was very excited to see one down the street from our new home! I loved the set up, if you want to just go in for coffee and peek in the kitty window you can. Or you can schedule a kitty visit, if I remember correctly your visit includes a beverage. You go in with a small group of people and get to visit with the kitties for just under an hour. It’s clean and bright with lots of kitty toys and perches and, of course, kitties!! The cat litter boxes are in another room, that the cats access by 2 small holes in the wall. There’s a ginormous filter in the ceiling, which was quite impressive – so much that I took a picture to share. They offer a one-time visit fee and monthly membership. We met a gal that had a membership, and it seems like the perfect way to help them help cats and get some mental health time for yourself! I highly suggest you go get your kitty fix!

Google
Unfortunately will not return. Ticket price includes free drink or pastry. Pastry was stale, and tea was over brewed/ bitter. Staff seemed lethargic. Cats were cute but for full duration of the hour they were all asleep and none wanted to play, which can’t be controlled I understand. They cats didn’t react to toys, sound, or soft petting and almost seemed sedated.

Yelp
My family and I had a great time at the Cat Cafe. The staff (especially the "mean manager" a lot of reviews mention) were great. They were friendly, attentive, and really showed they love what they do and that they love to share that experience with their customers. It's a very relaxed, and chill atmosphere. The cats will jump and play but also will not mind just laying around and hanging out. Overall it was an awesome experience and my family loved every minute of it. We will definitely be coming back in the near future and highly recommend anyone who enjoys coffee and spending time with felines to go.

Yelp
These are the CUTEST little critters!!! I want to include 100 photos but I don't want to spoil the experience for you. They have 12 cats (as of now) and some of them used to be street cats so some of their ears are chipped. They were all happy and relaxed cats, and some were very energetic when played with! With our visit we got to choose one free item from their menu. I got a cute cat paw cookie (pictured) and my friend got an iced coffee. I have been to several cat cafes in the US and this one was a little different because of how relaxed it was. Other cat cafes have asked us to remove our shoes and wear indoor slippers (probably for sanitary reasons) and to use hand sanitizer before entering the cat room. This cat cafe just let us in with our shoes on. Hopefully this doesn't affect the cats! Overall had a splendid experience. Thanks!

Yelp
Visiting cat cafe had been on my bucket list for some time. When my dear friend suggested a leisurely Sunday afternoon visit, I was delighted to have a companion and fellow cat lover to accompany me. Nestled in the heart of the downtown San Diego, this cozy afternoon was a pur-fect treat. The ambiance of your cat cafe is simply delightful! The cat picture frame and drawings on the wall is an exquisite touch that adds a charming and artistic flair. The cafe's staff are very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information about these cats as well as how to interactive with them. The relaxed and joyful cats are evident that the cafe took really good care of them. I really appreciated the thoughtful design of the spacious back room, providing a sanctuary for cats to have the freedom to recharge and relax in a peaceful environment whenever they desire. The abundance of toys and cat furniture at the cafe is truly impressive!. The variety of cat furniture offers plenty of cozy spots for them to lounge as you can see from the pictures I uploaded here. If you're a fellow cat lover, I wholeheartedly encourage you to pay a visit to this charming cat cafe. Not only will you be treated to a delightful experience surrounded by furry friends, but your visit also supports a noble cause. By patronizing the cafe, you're contributing to the well-being of the resident cats and supporting the efforts of cat charities. It's a wonderful opportunity to indulge in your love for felines while making a positive impact on their lives. So why not treat yourself to a purr-fect afternoon and support a worthy cause at the same time?

Yelp
the cutest cafe ever!!! you have entrance to the cat room for an hour as well as a free drink that comes with your reservations. the workers were also in the cat room to mediate interactions with cats. when we visited, most of the kitties were napping so we weren't able to play with most of them but were still able to pet them without disturbing their nap
google avatar

Yelp
I reserved online to secure a spot, it was about 20$ a person and then a bit extra in fees. Everything went smooth, the cats were pretty tired and you get a free item with your purchase. The ambiance was calm, they do a good job at not overbooking
google avatar

Catalina G.

Yelp
The bakery items are just okay, nothing to rave about. But the cats are adorable, there's usually at least some parking if you go on a weekday. The price could be a little better, we paid $20 each to hang out with the cats for an hour I believe. Service is pretty nice, cats are very sweet. Ambiance is pretty peaceful.
google avatar

Ruth W.

Yelp
You will have to make reservation otherwise you will have to wait hours. There is not enough parking available. The coffee and ice tea are just ok. After you pay 20 dollars, you can choose a coffee or a beverage. You can play with cats for one hour. Too expensive will not come again. The stuff is very cool and not friendly.

Yelp
Please visit this place! It's super clean, the kitties are too kind. I love that you get a free drink with a ticket. I've never been to a cat cafe that does that!!

Yelp
Overall the place is beautiful, the cafe is awesome and the baristas are very nice. Although, entering the room the manager man was very rude and was not knowledgeable about the cats and very overbearing. Talked in a rude manner and wasn't very polite. Would I go back? Yeah but only if he isn't there. He ruined the vibe. Beautiful cats!!!! Sweet sweet sweet kitties. I wish I could take them all home with me.

Veronica V.

Yelp
Cats were very sweet and kind. The man monitoring was stern and kept following us around, I was cuddling a cat who was very happy and sweet and I was yelled at like a first grader to put him down. Afterwards, he kept following me and staring down, but tried my best to ignore and enjoy the kitties company. The environment was not very welcoming. We had a party of 3, and were told we could come back in an hour. When we reduced our party to 2, we were we could go in right away and when we walked in there was only 2 people in the room. Was an alright experience.

Yelp
My teen daughter has been looking forward to going to a Cat Cafe. We went this past Tuesday, 7/11 and had a reservation from 2 to 3 pm. We decided to get there early as it's always finicky about finding parking. We arrived around 1:45ish. The cost for each person is $20 and it comes with either a free drink or snack item. My daughter had a Mocha Frapp and I ordered a Tuxedo Mocha. It was so yummy and delicious, perfect for a hot day! Our time came to pet the kitties. There were 3 other people who reserved the same time with us. A guy brought us in and told us about the rules. The hour was great. So many personalities from the different cats. My daughter and I had our favorites and she's determined that when she's older that she'll adopt a cat. Great customer service!

Yelp
Way too overpriced and coffee was pretty bad. Tea was not good too. Parking is pretty bad and they frankly did not care. The two workers at the counter were polite; however; one in the actual room was extremely rude. He failed to greet me when I entered and did not explain any of the rules to me. He yelled at a lady for using her sunglasses as a reflector. I understand there are rules to keep the animals safe; however, his tone was that of a middle school teacher scolding a student. This would make sense considering I was never informed by him what not to do. The cats themselves were nice; however, felt somewhat felt the interactions with them were artificial to say the least. The building itself was nice. Great operation but should undergo serious managerial and pricing changes. Overall nice experience.

Yelp
The staff here is incredibly inconsiderate and unkind. I left my backpack at the cafe and spoke to the barista there twice to ask if it was there, and they said they couldn't find it, despite my airtag telling me it was there, so I left my phone number with them and they said they'd call me if they found something. They never followed up. Then, I called again a couple of weeks later and they said they threw it away because it had been there too long. It had about $200 worth of my personal belongings in it.

Yelp
Went down to SD a few weeks ago for Comic Con and my friends and I are huge cat lovers and we decided to reserve a spot on our arrival to town to help pregame our mood for the long weekend We arrived a few min late but it's ok we got service quickly and got our cafe drinks. I got a iced chai latte and it was delicious We went into the area with all the cats and were told as one of the main rules was that we couldn't pick up the cats and let me tell you I'm pretty bummed about that because most of the time that's all I wanted to do not just look or pet lol but I get it I suppose but still ugh come on Most cats were sleepy tired Some were feisty and one was sooo energetic It was about 10 of us inside per reservation Mellow and chilled Was interesting
google avatar

Nina Z.

Yelp
Such a fun place to check out for the weekend! I made a reservation a few days in advance and each reservation includes one hour with the cats and one free food or drink item of your choice. The cats were so cute and I wish I could've stayed longer!
google avatar

Emily P.

Yelp
I am in the military and cannot have a pet, so I was really excited to find this cat cafe online! The coffee was good, and I got to sit and watch cats play and lounge around couldn't have asked for anything better! When I tried to pet one of the cats it immediately started chomping on my hand a friendly reminder that cats need time to warm up sometimes before pets! Thank you guys for giving me such a nice experience
google avatar

Paula H.

Yelp
Cats are my favorite!!! I don't have a little fur baby yet so visiting this cafe is awesome. Be mindful of parking. There's limited street parking, which fills up during the weekends and peak time. It's usually easier to park during the week day. Remember to make reservations ahead of time! The reservations are good for one hour and a complimentary drink or baked good. It's about $20. I love that there are reservations so it's not overwhelming for the cats. You can tell that the staff really care about and know the cats. Some cats are super playful and friendly. They'll come up to you and play. There are others that just like to sleep or stay away. It might also depend on the time of day. It was really great and relaxing to love on the cats. Some cats are available to adopt as well. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Alex L.

Yelp
Made a reservation to come in and see the cats for the first time and it was a very enjoyable experience. They go over the rules clearly but as long as you use your common sense you should be fine generally. It's a nicely laid out area with plenty of playthings to use with the cats. The light shining in from the window sets a nice tone in the room. The food they have here for the humans isn't anything fancy but I assume it's not their main focus. I've seen some reviews stating that the manager is rude, but he is just assertive so you understand the rules. I have a cat that was very similar to a cat here named Frankie. And while they may look alike they are not the same cat and understanding that you need to take extra precaution with these cats. Everyone is there for a good time, but these are the cats everyday lives and should be respected as well. Great spot if you just love being around cats.

Yelp
Being back in San Diego as a visitor it was a good opportunity to check out places I wouldn't have gone to as a resident and this is one of them. My daughter and I had heard many good things and decided to make a reservation. She learned from a previous review that the owner is not nice. This couldn't be further from the truth. He is very caring and has done a wonderful job to ensure these lovely kitties are comfortable and healthy. There is cat friendly music and ambiance that encourages a relaxing and safe environment. Additionally, you can see for yourself as there is a livestream at https://catcafesd.com/live-stream/ The cats all have names listed on the wall. The owner ensures visitors are explained ground rules to maintain the safety and health of the cats. There is even a noise monitor that is based on traffic light system so that guests know when they have gotten too loud. The cats have a place to retreat to if they need some privacy as well. There are plenty of cafe shop souvenir items and the food is also good. Admission includes one cafe item. We had iced cafes and they were delicious.

Yelp
It was my first time here, I was very excited to come look at some cats and kittens. I am currently looking to adopt a kitten. Whomever the elder Asian gentleman is that works at this establishment was clearly showing signs of discrimination towards me. I even greeted him and got nothing back which I let go thinking he didn't hear me. He was very avoidant of me, but made sure to welcome other customers that were there. I am African American and this is San Diego. From what I noticed some folks still have hate in their hearts may God bless them. Although my experience was ruined I was able to get my full refund. Even the donation I made. Stop spending money at places where they clearly don't want to service you. Save your hard earn money.

Yelp
Date of visit: July 24, 2022 My girlfriend was browsing through events for Comic-Con Weekend, and her eye caught upon the Kitties and Coffee one held by the Cat Cafe. Given how she really wanted to do this one (as she has a cat of her own), not to mention I wanted to do something new during SDCC, the decision was made for us to check it out. For $25 each, we got to spend an hour with a bunch of cats in a very peaceful environment, and with either a pastry or an iced coffee beverage (we got the iced coffee; it was a long weekend and we needed the caffeine). Unfortunately, most of the cats were sleeping, but there were a couple that were out and about, like Cota who jumped on everyone's tables and inspected what they were drinking and/or eating. On the other hand, there was Scarlett, who looked friendly, but when Kat went to pet her, she got a very loud hiss in return. Still, hanging out with a bunch of cats in an air-conditioned room for an hour was very therapeutic during the craziness that is SDCC... and this is coming from a dog person! (Yes, I'm a dog lover who's been with a cat lady for over ten years. What can I say, we balance each other out.) Hope the kitties - minus the house ones - find good homes, and I can't wait to come back next year!

Yelp
Never did the kitty visit. However, I've never been disappointed with the coffee. One of my favs ! Good caffiene kick & good honest shots !!

Yelp
Cats and coffee? Don't mind if I do. Why did I wait so long to visit this place? The hours, yes, we all know I do not do mornings well. But last week I made the time and I'm glad I did. Playing with precious cats who need a forever home while I sip a latte? TAKE MY MONEY. Important Notes: do not bring your small kiddos here as they aren't allowed in under age 6. Learn to read websites (and their multiple signs) and avoid upsetting your own children. Reservations are recommended to avoid turning you away if you just show up and they're busy, but walk-ins are accepted if the space allows. I lucked out and the cat room was empty when I showed up. With less than 24 hours notice cancellation of your reservation- there is no refund. Instead, just reschedule and you can still enjoy the cats and not lose out on your money! 20 bucks gets you a drink (or snack item) and an hour in the cat room. No flash photography, don't be too loud, and don't pick up the cats. Easy peasy! I like that they care about keeping the cats happy and comfortable. I can wave a feather toy on a stick around while 5 cats leap, pounce, and attack it? The best! There were other cats napping, so I left them alone. I am a catless cat lady who hasn't gotten to pet a cat in ages so this was a delightful day. Oh they were so soft. These must be healthy and happy cats to groom themselves so well. They have a lot of toys and things to climb on, doesn't come off like a sad little kitty jail with cat trees if that's what you're imagining. There are sun puddles from multiple windows, tall cat trees for them to explore and chase each other around on, lots of comfy nooks for them to sleep, and a back room for them to go hide from visitors if they're over it or just take a box break before coming back out for more fun. And there are tables and chairs for people so you can sit and drink your coffee just watching the cats if you don't want to just sit on the floor. The brown Bengal, Leo, was napping and lounging in a sun puddle for most of the time. He's even more striking in the sunlight so that was fine. I took way too many photos of these cats because I loved them so much. The staff provide a book with the cats' stories for you to flip through you can learn about the cats that are adoptable. Spending some time there and seeing how they are is a great idea pre-adoption. But if you're like me and you can't adopt a cat, you can support them by paying to get in the cat room and telling your friends about your magical time. MAGICAL. Or better yet, bring your friends with you next time. That's my plan. Cats and coffee? A great way to de-stress and do a good deed by supporting this charming little place trying to find kitties good homes. Allergic or just don't like playing with or watching cats? You can still enjoy the cat café! You can go grab some coffee and pastries to eat outside on their sidewalk patio. No cat hair, but still a rescued alley cat ally! The cafe's menu, their Purrfect Menu, is cute! Warm Kitty drinks, Cold Kitty drinks, Blended (why that one doesn't have kitty too...oh), and Kitty Specials for some pre-picked flavor blends. I went with the Tortie (mocha, hazelnut, caramel) and it was nice. But they have plenty of syrups to make your own concoction. A couple of the cats have even been adopted in the short time since my visit! This means there are new cats hanging out in the cat room just waiting for me to go meet them. There's also a livestream via their Facebook page of the cats night time adventures if you're curious. Are you a yoga person? Their website says every 3rd Sunday they host a cat yoga session. Sign up and stretch with the kitties!

Yelp
Such a nice spot! I've been to other cat cafes, but this was definitely the cleanest. The kitties were very well taken care of, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Friendly staff, good drinks, and awesome atmosphere with lots of cute cats. Will definitely come back next time we're in town

Yelp
We've been here twice and it's a fun little place to spend an hour chillin with some cats. I've been twice, both times with kids and we had fun and the concept is cool. There are numerous things to keep in mind if you plan to visit the cat cafe. 1. Every child must have an adult with them, ie if you bring 2 kids, you must have 2 adults as well. 2. The cats might not be in the mood for you. The cats are friendly but Cats can be temperamental in general and these cats are around people a lot. Sometimes they just want a nap and sometimes they don't want to play, and that's ok. There's typically 10-12 cats in the cafe at a time so some want attention probably. 3. The "cat room" guy is condescending. He thinks he knows more about cats than anyone else and he probably wishes the cafe would make a no kids rule, because it's obvious he really doesn't trust kids with cats. But he does love the cats so try to remember that's where he's coming from, even though he goes about it all wrong. If you, or someone you are attending with is neurodiverse, I would suggest speaking to staff first about communication needs/differences. I have a neurodiverse child and while he did not have any issues there, I could definitely see how the cat guy's communication and interaction style could be triggering. Since I'd been there before, I knew what to expect and talked to my son in advance about the guy so my son was prepared. The guy really needs some training in this area as he interacts with the public a lot. My son (and my neurotypical, but neuro-affirming daughter) were put off by the guy and needed to process a bit on the way home.

Yelp
I spontaneously found this spot online, and brought my daughter here for a daddy daughter date because she loves cats! Unfortunately we couldn't go see the cats because you have to be 6 years old or older(she's 4). I understand the legality behind it all, but it was just a bummer because she was really excited to see some cats. I'm not giving this place 1 star because of this, but instead I'm giving this place a bad review Because the Customer service was lacking and could've been better. 1. came into the shop, and no one greeted us. 2. I told them it was my first time and I wanted to see the cats, and all they said was you have to book an appointment online.( super short, and vague) 3. No apologies for not being able to see the cats. I get that I sound entitled, but if I'm giving you business I expect good customer service and to be informed in a nice manner what to do. All in all, I'll prob come back because my daughter loves cat, this is just for me to vent and let the management be aware of what they can work on. :)

Yelp
4 stars for the experience: The cats are so cute and playful! Some of them were sleeping but woke up shortly and became active. The space is really nice with lots of furniture for the cats. You can bring your drinks and food inside the area. I love cats, so this was just so fun to be surrounded by 10 cats! They're all up for adoption from anywhere between $125-$175, depending on the age. The actual cafe had a good variety of options for coffee/tea and they're named after cat breeds haha!! I got the iced chai latte with regular milk. It was good, but I wish they offered oat milk. Currently they offer whole and soy milk. Your reservation is $15 which includes playing with cats and your choice of a drink (either size) or food! I thought that was neat! The baristas are really sweet and even had allergy meds available for my friend who's allergic to cats (she forgot hers lol). Now.. the annoying part is the owner. Gosh, he is so rude and condescending. I didn't see the yelp reviews before coming here because my friends brought me here as a surprise. But now that I see the other reviews, I can see our experience with the owner is not an isolated event! I felt really uncomfortable being around him and felt relieved when he would leave. I suppose there's not much receptivity when it comes to constructive criticism considering the number of reviews mentioning him and his hostility in response on Yelp and Google reviews. But one can hope! To the owner who I hope is reading this: you are running a great establishment, however, I hope you can take some time to learn how to treat customers and potential returning visitors with kindness and respect

Yelp
We had a fun time at the Cat Cafe! My boys are almost 8. I think any younger wouldn't be a good fit for this activity. There is no squealing, big movements or loud voices permitted. It's a quiet environment and this is hard for young kids who are all wound up seeing cats. We don't have a cat and my son (cat obsessed) was SO excited. It was a great way to be around cats without the pressure of bringing one home. Yes, it seems pricey admission but I look at it as money to take care of strays brought in from the streets. And you do get a bakery or coffee item with admission. Overall, I would recommend!

Gloria S.

Yelp
Great place to get to know your furry friend before adopting! They are very careful how they are handled and make sure you are sanitized before entering their home.
google avatar

Tyler D.

Yelp
After reading reviews I was skeptical about the manager possibly being rude, totally incorrect. Despite us being a minute late he welcomed us in with a short description of the rules and stories of the cats they had there. The manager was a super nice guy, the work they do here is awesome. They are not only a cate cafe but a rescue and I appreciate what they do. It was a fun and caring experience, the drinks are decent and a nice addition to be able to sip on while you play with the cats. I would 100% recommend coming here and will probably come back! Super comfortable atmosphere and quiet place, it really needs to be for the cats LOL. Give the cat cafe a try!
google avatar

Ryan J.

Yelp
They need to learn how to talk to people. On their outdoor signs, they're even somewhat rude about having reservations prior. We get it... and so u dont have to make you repeat yourself, how bout you have a big sign saying reservations only? Even the "how it works" section on their website displays how they think about their patrons. "We know you're anxious to pet our cats but we have to ring you up first". Like really? Screw this place. I will never be back. They treat their customers poorly
google avatar

Yelp
Came in today, 25Mar for the first time and had to leave right away. Customer service was very poor, was not greeted. As soon as we walked in, the guy at the counter said "we are fully booked, if you did not make a reservation". Like hello, how about good afternoon how can we help you!! Very rude!
google avatar

Alexis R.

Yelp
My 10 year old is a crazy cat guy. We have one cat at home but he had been begging me for months to visit The Cat Cafe! For his birthday we visited and both my kiddo's LOVED it! He could have cared less about his complimentary drink with entry (I loved my Chai Latte) he was too excited to get into the cat room. We sat and played with all the friendly kitty's for the full hour and had a memorable and fantastic time! I suggest getting an early reservation as parking is a bit easier early in the day. Another perk was that The New Children's Museum is two blocks away, so we played with the kitty's and then walked down to the museum and made a day out of it.

Haya S.

Yelp
This is hands down the worst experience I've ever had, terrible service and such a waste of money, the guy in the room is extremely rude and aggressive, yelling at people and giving them instructions as if they're little kids. He aggressively yelled at my boyfriend for taking a phone call in the room, with a voice much louder than the voice my boyfriend was speaking on the phone with. And apparently he's the manager. Regardless of the fact that all the cats were sleepy and tired, but their customer service was hands down the worst I've ever seen. Absolutely terrible, would not recommend giving them business.

Yelp
I took my kiddo here (he loves cats). Read the website and all of the reviews before you go! I lucked out and found a street parking spot close by. You get one menu item per ticket. Be sure to grab a cat toy... most cats will play with you. Some of the cats want to be left alone. We were greeted when we entered. Definitely make reservations. Very friendly staff. Leave your handbag/backpacks at home, you cant bring them inside the main area.

Yelp
This place was cat heaven! They were booking special reservations for Comic Con so my partner and I HAD to go. The employees are clearly very passionate about cats, extremely friendly, and they were all very excited about a bunch of weirdos in costumes hanging out with their furry friends. There is a section of the menu that is cat themed, which is adorable! The human that led us to feline paradise even took the care to inform us which cats were spicy, and which were food thieves. I would absolutely come back again!

Yelp
Coffee is great even if you aren't visiting with cats! Also the service is so nice and accommodating. Calm welcoming environment. Coffee is strong too

Yelp
I went to the cat cafe on my birthday to see the cats because I LOVE cats and it was just perfect. Going here was the highlight of my birthday! There were lots of cats and they were just relaxing by the time I went in. I got to meet Jeeves who is the SWEETEST and FRIENDLIEST kitten. Clint was relaxing so cutely perched on a corner! I would definitely go here again because just for $15 you get to hang out with cats and there's a coffee/drink included! I wish we could've stayed longer than an hour, but it was still such a great time. The owner is also really nice and explained everything to us before we went in to see the cats. If you're in San Diego or by there, I HIGHLY recommend coming to this cat cafe!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were visiting San Diego for the weekend, and my cat-lover heart nearly burst when I found a cat cafe within walking distance of our Airbnb. I made a reservation same day, and was pleasantly surprised they had availability. You pay $15 per person for an hour with the kitties, and you get a free item with your reservation--I got the gluten free blueberry muffin and my boyfriend got the chocolate muffin. Both were yummy and he's VERY picky, so that says a lot! Some other reviewers had commented on the owner, and I can kinda see what they mean. He wasn't rude by any means, but he was a little intense for a place that's supposed to be chill. You can tell he cares dearly for each kitty he houses there, but can come across a little much at times to humans--I think cat owners can relate. He was knowledgeable about each kitty and their backstory, but I wish he was a little less involved. Another thing I noticed was that the seating wasn't the best, just a couple wood tables and chairs. Kinda wish there was comfier seating, but I understand why they may not want fabric chairs and sofas due to marking, scratching, scent confusion, etc. Also, this is definitely an experience that can be impacted by the people you end up with in your reservation. The group my boyfriend and I were reserved with was irritating and inconsiderate to be frank; they basically hogged any and all available cats to themselves which was really annoying. Lastly, the kitties!!! They all seemed happy and content. I fell in love with Larry, and my heart broke at his backstory--if I lived in San Diego I would've adopted him on the spot. I was able to calm him down just by sitting near him, and he rolled over and showed me his belly and fell asleep...until a kid from the inconsiderate group I was with threw a toy on him which caused him to get startled and run away... Like I said, really annoying. All in all, it was a pleasant experience save the people I was with. I'd come back to support the cause and see who find their furever home. :)

Yelp
I was very excited to visit and I was not disappointed! The owner was very knowledgeable and friendly. I loved that all the cats backstories were available to read . Really cool setup for all the cats. My favorite cat was Neeve. I will definitely visit again when I'm in town.

Yelp
Cats were great, workers were nice. Just had a basic tea. The cat room did have a bit of an odor though, I guess it's expected when you go somewhere with a number of animals.

Yelp
Definitely don't recommend this place since they do their adoptions through the rescue house which is a really sketchy organization. Be cautious if you do an application through here they will extract a lot of unnecessary personal information from you. I already gave them my legal name and my landlords information that should have been all they needed but they wanted every roommates legal names which I find weird since they financially have nothing to do with the cat. They only need to know how many roommates I have so that they know who that cat will be around. I found this org to be very icky. Be warned and I recommend checking out the reviews on The Rescue House page as well

Yelp
This is the most fun I have ever had at a cafe. The staff was super friendly and shared information about all the cats. You do have to sign up for a time to meet with the cats and it costs about $20 but that includes an hour with the cats and a free drink. Most of the cats are adoptable and very friendly. Had a wonderful relaxing time in with the cats and they do have tables and outlets inside so if you need to charge your phone or get some work done in the company of some cute cats you can. Highly recommend to cat lovers and those who just like to give to a good cause.

Yelp
I am a cat love supreme deluxe and all these years, this is the first time ever coming here. Being a cat owner of 3 fur babies, I never felt the need to drive in downtown to pet cats if I have my own. LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING! It was VERY therapeutic. It's so calm and soothing inside. The staff were fantastic. You can also see daily YouTube videos of the cats that are there daily. $15 for an hour with the cats that includes a drink OR pastry. I highly recommend this if you are looking to adopt. Get a chance to know and play with a cat you are bonding with and give them a "furever" home. I will visit here for sure with friends again and grab breakfast or lunch before or afterwards. Love this place! Get over here right meow!

Yelp
The dude running the show here needs to chill out. We've had cats our entire lives...45 years of understanding cats. We love cats and that's why we signed up for this. This guy was talking to us like we weren't doing anything right. We just wanted to hang out with cats not be demeaned the whole time. Dude has such high anxiety it ruined our enjoyment with the cats. Literally treated us like children. We dropped a bill here and that's not enough to have a good time without being reprimanded constantly for just trying to connect with the cats. Sorry guy but you ruined it for our family. Do better for others that sign up. We won't be back. Good luck!

Yelp
Made reservations here as a surprise for my boyfriend's birthday but was extremely disappointed. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. The baristas were kind but the brunette man was fairly rude. The man in charge was extremely rude to a few younger girls in the group, scolding them for standing NEAR a cat. He made the whole room extremely uncomfortable. After visiting the cafe, I looked at their Yelp reviews and have seen many other reviews explaining the same experience. He kept hovering over my boyfriend and I and made me feel like I was being babysat. A wonderful idea, but poorly executed because the brunette man (maybe the owner) made things so deeply awkward. Go visit a shelter instead and save your money.

Yelp
Worst cat cafe experience ever. I should have read the 1 star reviews here before reserving a spot. The guy who managed the cafe was extremely rude and getting on everyone's nerves. He was very mean when giving out instructions and treating us like kids. The 20usd fee includes a pastry or drink by your choice and I chose a pastry. I was holding it inside the cat playroom and one cat got very interested to the smell of the food and tried to sniff on it. Obviously, i would never allow the cat to eat or even touch the food but since the cat was very interested, so I just kind of use the food as a toy and be playful to it. However, the guy yelled at me and said dont use your food to lure the cats. Come on, this cat cafe supposed to be a place to hang out with cats and enjoy the time together. The pastry was wrapped tightly in plastic wrap and there was no way the cat can get to it. I think it is totally ok for the customer to just have a little fun time with the cat. Moreover. It is a cat CAFE, you basically allow customers to eat inside the playroom. There will obviously be chance that some cats may even try to steal other people's food. If he had such a huge problem on the cats interacting with human food, then the cafe should not even allow customers to eat or bring the food inside the playroom in the first place. This guy's attitude is literally the worst and he does not know how to respect people. During my session in this cafe, i could feel the guy was constantly monitoring the customers' behaviors and yelling at them for not treating the cats right (which is not true). The guy even yelled at my boyfriend fro attempting to play with one of the cats with two toys at the same time lol I will never ever recommend this place to anyone. If you love cats and want to have a good time with them, go to the cat lounge adoption center in la jolla. Staffs are extremely sweet and nice over there.

Yelp
My experience here was mediocre. The cafe workers in the front were very sweet, but the man in charge of the cats left a bitter taste in my mouth. I went here with my sister and we both agree that it was not worth the price. The worker that managed the cats seemed to hover over my sister and I and made us feel uneasy. He was in the cat room most of time and I get that he needs to supervise the area, but it seemed as though he was keeping all the cats to himself. He acted like he was a customer there as well. The only cats my sister and I were able to pet were the ones that were sleeping, while the awake ones were being occupied by the worker. I would give this place a lower rating if it weren't for the adorable cats. Cafe Aesthetics: 6/10 Cats: 100/10 Drinks: 4/10 Customer Service: 5/10

Yelp
Reservation only, customer service is bad, the food and drink are also not worth it, trust the reviews
