I visited this The Catch location for the third or fourth time today for lunch.. I've grown to really like this place when I'm craving fried seafood goodness..
Today, I opted for the 3-piece shrimp 🍤 and 1-piece catfish combo, with the corn and potatoes side dish in place of fries.. The combo included two small hush puppies..
The shrimp, fish, and hush puppies were delivered fresh from the fryer, hot, perfectly done, and tasted great.. I did sample the tartar sauce with my fish and it had a great flavor, too..
But let me tell you about the corn and potatoes!! I'm not sure why, but today, they were basically divine.. Two small, red potatoes, perfectly cooked, set in a bowl with a half cob of corn, wonderfully buttered and lightly seasoned (assuming a cajun or creole seasoning)..
I cut the potatoes into quarters, rolled them around in the liquid gold at the bottom of the bowl, sprinkled them with salt, pepper, and Tony Cachere's seasoning at the table, and delighted at just how savory they were.. I enjoyed the corn the same way after I finished the potatoes..
For me, great execution of simple things is what makes or breaks a restaurant.. The Catch hit a grand slam for me on these few menu items today, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit!!
