My fiancée and I have been loyal customers here for over a year, probably more than 100 orders. We kept coming back because when the food was made right, it was great. But over time the consistency kept dropping. Some bowls came perfect, others missing ingredients or completely unbalanced. Our last order had about five tablespoons of peanut butter in one oatmeal bowl. The day prior ordering that same bowl, it came completely differently. I emailed politely to let them know, thinking they would appreciate feedback from long-time customers. Instead, the owner replied with the message in the screenshot, blaming us for hurting their app rankings and telling us to order elsewhere. (Which were reviews for clear mistakes, like bowls missing eggs or other paid add ons that cost between $2-$6 ) That response says everything. We were not rude or demanding, just supportive customers who cared enough to speak up. If this is how they handle honest feedback, it is disappointing. We wanted them to succeed, but professionalism clearly is not a priority here.

I had an amazing experience at The Celery. Their Moonrise açaí bowl is one of my regular favorites! It’s always fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully made. The customer service is consistently friendly and efficient, which makes every visit even better. I’m especially impressed by their high-quality organic ingredients, all made right in-store. It’s great to support local Portland companies that clearly care deeply about what they serve.

Ordered a tuna grain bowl and it was abysmal. Nothing crunchy in it. Just sloppy, lukewarm, fishy food that was drenched in some sort of orange sauce. Place is decent and roomy but why can't a "quirky" Portland place like this make food that's edible? Stop trying to be hip and just make good food.

This was my first time in, and I enjoyed the food. I had a bowl with wild salmon in it, and the fish tasted fresh and was cooked well. I also had a green juice which was delicious (not over or under sweet, just right!). I very much appreciate all of the clean, high-quality ingredients, prompt and friendly service, and beautiful open space of the restaurant. My only critique is that the food could be seasoned more - the flavors don’t quite pop. The house-made red bell pepper sauce is tasty, but not flavorful enough to carry the dish. If the ingredients had more seasoning and/or if there were more fresh herbs used, I think it would go along way. The presentation also leaves a bit to be desired. Overall great quality for the relatively inexpensive cost (especially considering the ingredients). Will be back to try more!

The celery is a really a great place. They have very fresh, delicious food. I really like the salmon bowls. The smoothies are really great. I like the two smoothies that have peanut butter in it. One of them is the brain freeze. I usually get the tree run or the up river The people here are very friendly that work here and they’re very accommodating which I appreciate. It’s a very nice place to sit with big windows. The street parking is usually easy. It’s located in a very safe neighborhood I am from Los Angeles but every time I visit my family we always come here as this is my dad’s favorite restaurant

Amazing find in North Williams neighbourhood. Came here with a group of 8 (5 adults, 3 kids). Food was delivered quickly and looked fabulous. Tasted amazing from the smoothies for the kids to the juices for the adults. The Rain Shadow bowl is AMAZING. Berry Sunny Smoothie was made with oat milk due to an allergy and was fantastic for the kids. Staff were super friendly. Price point was right for healthy eating (server told us everything is organic and cooked in a special oven - no stove top). Decor was clean looking with a light wood outlook and a local artist represented on the walls and windows. Bathroom and kitchen were clean and welcoming. They run recycling for their custom juice bottles. Parking is a little tight but easy access by bus and bike (with bike areas right out front). Totally delicious stop on our Williams shopping day.

LOVE your mission and vibe!!! And so easy that it says right away, EVERYTHING is 100% organic! Wish more places would do this. Best thing ever to not worry about that or have to question. Delicious smoothies and juices! One suggestion, a little less ginger in the green smoothie but otherwise everything was wonderful. House made cashew milk, way to wow me!! Great job and fantastic drinks. Spacious and efficient place. Friendly and fast service.

Decent menu and average prices but I wasn't impressed with my smoothie or grain bowl. I ordered the Blue Tide ($8.50) and the Tree Run ($16). The blue tide smoothie wasn't very flavorful, which was super disappointing. The bowl was absolutely smothered in roasted red pepper sauce, which really should come on the side since it's such a large portion of sauce. Otherwise, the chicken was juicy and the bowl was fine but I couldn't escape the sauce. Not very remarkable which is so sad given all the awesome reviews!

I was searching for a healthy to-go option during a work trip and stumbled on Celery. This spot did not disappoint with healthy, good-tasting options. I would absolutely order here again!

Amazing place! Super cute with tons of windows for the natural lighting. We stopped here to do some work. Good news is they're also dog-friendly too! I got an acai bowl and my wife got a salad. The acai bowl was okay, I wish the base wasn't as watery and had some more flavors to it. The toppings and fruits were pretty fresh, so it made up for it. The salad on the other hand was really good! Would lean towards that if you're looking to get some food. Got a juice as well and felt super healthy afterwards. Good little spot, would come back.

I'm obsessed! The blue tide smoothie is SOOO GOOD! I have been here multiple times and always have great service and a wonderful experience! It's very large inside and clean! There is inside and outside seating available as well!

We came back recently. I like the salmon bowl a lot and the smoothie that has coffee in it. That's my fav. It's yum I live in Los Angeles, so whenever I visit it like to go to this place. It's very healthy and the salmon is very high quality. The homemade sauces are good too. Friendly staff. It's a really nice place to sit because they have these really nice beautiful glass windows. It's a nice area and it's definitely a safe area and I always find street parking easily.

The best healthy food in town, and it's not even close. Obsessed with the Keep It Green juice, and the Rain Shadow Grain Bowl. They use only clean organic ingredients, unlike other juice bars that are "organic when possible" aka never. Bright and spacious indoors, and they use plant-based ecofriendly packaging for to-go orders. Thank you the Celery for existing!!!

The salad was amazing! So hearty and healthy! I was craving a good salad and this is just what I needed. Service was fast and nice. The juice was not sweet enough for me

The Celery is so freaking good. Tasty fresh food that doesn't make you feel terrible after eating it. This is my favorite smoothie spot. The people are nice and always working hard. Seems like there must be a neverending amount of stuff to do there because it looks nonstop for them. Inside is fine, they always have the door open on nice days and I like that. I've only ever had smoothies here (I've tried all of them and they are all great). I have no doubt their other food is good too it's just never what I'm there for.

What an amazing establishment. My son is currently in a near by hospital and we have been buying drinks 2-3 times a day for a couple of weeks now. Great staff and great juice!!

Nice and open feeling inside. There are places to sit which is nice for a juice shop. There are a variety of smoothie, juice, and shot choices, which is wonderful. I would recommend coming if this is your type of thing! I will return! Loved my Beet Drop juice! Staff was not welcoming and even when I expressed gratitude, it was not well received.

I was so happy to find this restaurant while I was staying at the hotel without a kitchen for a week. I always choose organic ingredients when cooking at home and it was such a pleasant surprise to find The Celery as it offers organic ingredients including the chicken, veggies, grains, etc. I don't think I've ever been to a restaurant that uses exclusively organic ingredients and I've been to lots of places especially in Portland. Everyone was nice to me and friendly. Highly recommend for a healthy meal.

Great spot for a quick, healthy meal. I had the harvest moon grain bowl and falls creek juice. I really enjoyed the textures and flavors of the bowl. You get crunch from the cucumber and radish. The farro is chewy and nutty. Avocado for creaminess. Pickled onions for a sweet touch. The sauce has a pleasant kick and there was plenty to go around. I removed the egg and added tempeh and it went super well with the other elements. Juice was refreshing. Very satisfied customer!

I pass by The Celery every day on my drive home from work, but never had the opportunity to step in. Yesterday, my son had his wisdom teeth extracted and we were desperate for something easy, nourishing, and delicious. Everything we ordered was delicious. Great options for smoothie, salads, bowls, and treats. I'll definitely be back.

I really wanted to love this spot and, based off the reviews, I may have just ordered wrong. The base of my açaí bowl was icy and kind of bland. I did enjoy the fresh fruit and peanut butter on top, but it was disappointing overall. I also ordered the up river grain bowl with salmon. The salmon was a very generous portion but it was overcooked with lots of albumin seeping out. I loved the basil herb sauce and the perfectly cooked farro with the roasted vegetables, so I would consider ordering it again without the salmon.

This is hands down best juice bar in PNW. Brilliant bowls and salads, excellent quality!!! Most conscious smoothies, unique blends. Best staff in town! LOVE

Got the Up River grain bowl (subbed farro for brown rice) and out of office juice -- very good! Quite a generous portion of salmon and everything was tasty and filling while feeling light in the stomach -- just what I was looking for!

Gotten take out twice when I was in Portland for medical issues. The bowls are delicious and filling. Beware of the peanut sauce, it's got a little kick. Quality ingredients and when I'm absolutely zonked and needing something healthy, this is my go to. Service is lovely and they've always been ready when we swing by.

I usually just get juice here and not food but I read the menu and I liked what I saw. We got the out of office juice and I forgot the name of the meal but it has chicken thighs, roasted broccoli, beets, mushrooms fried onions on a bed of cauliflower rice and dressed with a roasted red pepper sauce? Oof, idk, it was solid 10/10 for me, they were not skimping on the chicken and everything tasted well balance!

Super bummed. Was on a walk this morning and I have been wanting to stop in and try The celery for a while. I am a Portlander who has been in the neighborhood for 25 years. My Smoothie was fine but the service was horrible. The tall guy who took my order was unbelievably unpleasant. Barely said a word. Turned and walked away after I ordered and slapped my drink down and turned and walked away after he made it without any acknowledgement. I am so surprised people like that choose to work in the service industry.

The food and drinks are fresh and delicious, so I couldn't remember why I stopped coming here as often as I used to. I went again yesterday and was reminded of when I saw how small the portions have gotten. I've been coming since they opened, but as a 5' 3" 122 lb woman, this is barely enough food to fill me up :( The place was completely empty when I went, so it's not like this bowl was made in a rush.

Ok so I am giving this place 5 stars, because if I knew what I was "actually" getting, I wouldn't have ordered it in the first place. My pharmacist said she was buying smoothies and started passing her phone around for everyone to order. I got the phone and didn't really see anything. Then i saw the Stumptown and peanut butter smoothie. I thought this should be good and ordered it. The first sip was peculiar. I got a very slight flavor of both coffee and peanut butter, but there was a watery odd flavor about it. I took another sip and put it down. I actually ended up dumping it out because I didn't care for the flavor. Later on I was advised that there was Cauliflower in it...there was probably other "healthier" veggies and probably some fruits in there too. I am usually a Jamba type smoothie man. Next time I will investigate a little more before I order

The Celery is a relatively new juice/smoothie/oatmeal/salad/grain bowl place on N Williams. They source the majority of their ingredients organically and locally, and they don't use anything pre-cooked - so for example the sauces are made from scratch. Basically, if you are trying to eat healthy, like for example after a workout nearby, this is a great option. The space has a warehouse style vibe, it feels modern and big and open and clean. The menu board is divided into sections, and the staff is happy to help recommend something if you are having a hard time choosing like I did. Prices are reasonable to high - juices range from $6-8.50, smoothies $8-9, grain bowls $11.50-15, salads $9-14.50, açaí bowls $10.50-12, oatmeals $7-7.50, immunity shots $4, and coffee $2.50-9. My Panorama Smoothie was good, especially for having such unusual ingredients as cauliflower in it. The peanut butter cacao oatmeal bowl was also just about as expected, though I would never say no to more peanut butter or cacao. For being made fresh it was really quickly prepared. I'd love to come back for a salad or grain bowl!

Definitely will be a new regular here! Everything I've tried is fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. So glad they have chicken, fish and egg options. Can't go wrong :)

I really appreciate the Celery taking accountability and being so professional when addressing these situations! Like I said, we will be back and I'm hoping that we had a couple of fluke experiences. I have all the faith that the Celery will continue to be one of my go to smoothie spots in PDX!

Delicious and excellent service! They were so fast with a large order! There was a smoothie that said I needed to wait to order until a certain time in the yelp menu but when I called they said it was available

My caregiver recommended this place and had good juices. I ordered the most greenest smoothie and it was good. People were nice and took me a few minutes. The inside was pretty modern and clean! If you wanted to get a smoothie, try this place!

The Celery is the perfect spot when I'm craving a healthy meal or a smoothie. Their menu consists of grain bowls, salads, juices, smoothies, smoothie bowls and oatmeal. My favorite is the grain bowls, which are each a perfect mix of fresh ingredients that are so delicious when all put together. These bowls are savory and very filling for the size. I've been here a few times without any issues, but my last visit wasn't great. I ordered the Harvest Moon Grain Bowl for the first time and asked to have the roasted red pepper sauce instead of the spicy peanut ginger sauce, which they said was no problem. After eating about 3/4 of my bowl and thinking this isn't something I would order again, I looked at the photo I took (for Yelp) and I realized that they put the original sauce on the bowl that I requested not to have. To make it worse, they left out the watermelon radish and the pickled red onion completely. After realizing this, I showed my photo to an employee and asked if it was supposed to include the ingredients that I thought was missing. She said yes and offered to remake my bowl, but I was already full :( It was such a disappointing experience to have paid for something, gotten something incorrect, and not compensated for it. But I guess I should've noticed something was wrong from the start. I'm sure I'll be back, but I would highly recommend checking your orders before you start eating or before you leave with a takeout order.

We tried the Harvest Moon and Up River grain bowls, along with a seasonal pumpkin pie smoothie, and they were all incredible. Even as I walked up to the restaurant to pick up my phone order, I could smell the delicious aroma wafting from the front door. The food was delicious, healthy, and clean, and the establishment had a modern vibe with lovely, friendly staff. I'm looking forward to coming back next time we're in the area!

We Love The Celery! Definitely recommend for juice & oatmeal & grain bowls organic eats for the win! They can't always answer the phone because of staffing but the lines always just right in person & they've always been open when they say so order online if need to order ahead.

This place is the bomb. They are so helpful and friendly. The rain bowl was amazing. I would eat there every day if I could.

Awesome! So many restaurants are "organic whenever possible" (What does that even mean? Whenever it's convenient? Whenever it doesn't cost too much?), so I really appreciate that this restaurant has so many 100% organic menu items. I am on a rather limited diet, and they even worked with me to make a custom salad. I often can't eat at restaurants, and it was such a treat to be able to enjoy a meal with my husband. He enjoyed his grain bowl and smoothie. We will definitely be back!

Great smoothie, very nutritious and love all the options on their menu! I didn't get a wellness shot, but I love that they have those available and I will get one next time!

The open kitchen set up makes it look bigger but the sound of washing cookware is rather loud.

Update --- very pleased with how ownership handled the situation and will be back to give this spot another try. Visiting Portland and came across great reviews for this spot. Unfortunately, the food we ordered was not up to our standard and the portions left us a bit baffled. Ordered two rain grain shadow bowls and one of them tasted as though it had expired or non-fresh ingredients. The Moonrise Smoothie bowl was slightly better overall and a recommendation, but still not up to standard with other smoothie and bowl places I have been to both in and out the state. It was definitely not what we expected and would not be going back.

I'm not a salad person but this place has some pretty great salads and EXCELLENT smoothies. Prob due to house made nut milk. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

What a great find right by my house. The pressed juice and açaí bowls are delicious. I've had a rice bowl with tempeh and find it to be a bit on the small side and perhaps not the most satisfying bite to eat, but pretty decent for what it is. I've been back more than a few times and despite the price point ($20 for a rice bowl and pressed juice), I do enjoy this place for a more healthy lunch option.

Food is amazing and soooo good for you! Makes you feel good inside and out. Service was great and super fast! The atmosphere is very simple and calming. I work at a smoothie and juice cart and balance is everything when it comes to drinks like that and they have it dialed in. Come here often now that Ive found them

I can tell how much he cares about his business and making things right for both his customers and employees. I may return to give The Celery another shot, as this message was very reassuring: From Matt: "Hi Alicia, I responded on the google review as well so I wont go into it all again but we are sorry for the bad bowl and poor customer service. You should have been thanked for your feedback and refunded for sure. We have pulled that sauce as that batch seemed to be lacking flavor as you mentioned and are re-emphasizing our quality control that clearly was lacking on that batch. We are also going to call a team meeting to go over costumer service expectations as this was unacceptable. Your refund should go through within a few days and please let me know if there is anything else we can do. Thanks again, Matt" Ordered some lunch and the Harvest bowl I received was incredibly bland, and had absolutely no flavor, other than ginger. I've had many good ginger sauces and bowls and this just missed the mark. I called to kindly let them know how unappetizing their food was and the person working just didn't seem to care at all or offer any type of refund or apology or explanation. I live pretty close by and i definitely won't be returning. What a waste of $16 plus my tip I wish I could get back.

A MUST try! We are from out of town and were looking for healthy, organic, and preferably local food. The Celery checked all of these boxes. While we eat primarily plant based, we sometimes eat high quality salmon. We were absolutely wowed to find that The Celery served wild Alaskan salmon. This is SO rare for us to find, and such a pleasant surprise. The high quality ingredients that originally drew us in were topped by the INCREDIBLE flavor and exceptional customer service. I can't express how delicious our bowls were. And Matt at the front was so kind, welcoming, and overall exceptional to match the rest of our experience. THANK YOU!

I had the Rain Shadow Grain Bowl and the coffee! Both very good, the type of meal that tastes good and you feel good after eating it. Definitely ordering this again!!

Amazing, 10/10! So full of flavor, fresh n healthy ingredients, and filling portions. I am obsessed, and will definitely be coming back for more grain bowls and salads. I live this place. They hide veggies in your smoothie and the grain bowl is tasty. If you're buying in bulk, like for a cleanse, make plans with them ahead of time.

I had the Greek grain bowl, The Haystack, and it was awesome! The chicken was super flavorful and the chick peas are a great idea. Highly recommend!

I'm addicted to celery. I work down the street and this is my go to place for green juice , smoothies and salads. Always fresh and delicious. Everyone that works here is super friendly too.
