I absolutely love coming here with my boyfriend, we can get so many delicious goodies for a more than fair price! The couple who run this establishment are the nicest, sweetest people you could ever hope to meet & are always ready to provide tips on how to make their food even more yummy! I personally recommend the Apple pastys & Shepard's pie, both 10/10. Please support this beautiful local small business, you won't be disappointed ❤️

It’s my first time trying the soda bread, I ordered both the currants raisins & cranberry orange flavor, i love both of them! The texture of the bread is somewhat firm and every bite is full of the flavor. Also love their salted caramel corns.

Google
THE ABSOLUTE BEST FOOD AND SERVICE! I order my Gluten Free scones, they show up fresh and packaged. The jams, spreads, and homemade toppers are EVERYTHING! There is not one thing that will disappoint you. I also purchase gift boxes and have them sent direct and everyone is always so complimentary on the look and taste. Celtic Tea Shoppe is my go-to!

I’ve never been here in person cause I live on the east coast. But I’ve ordered from them to be shipped to me, in particular their pumpkin pasties, which are absolutely delicious. Also for anyone concerned about how the delicate pasties ship, both times I’ve ordered from them they’ve been packaged super well and there’s been minimal to no breakage. Which I think is quite impressive for shipping cross-country. I also wanted to give a shout out to their customer service. I had ordered a dozen pumpkin pasties for my birthday. And I accidentally ordered them with the wrong shipping speed and they weren’t going to arrive in time for the day. By the time I realized, it was only two days out from my birthday. And so I called, and the folks at Celtic Tea Shoppe were so helpful in getting the shipping speed changed to make sure they arrived just in time. So, not only super tasty, but excellent customer service. Thank you!

Google
I was on my lunch break looking for some comfort food and knew just the place to go. Their self-serving fridge is usually stocked with great savory pies, but I’d been wanting to try the pork sausage rolls. The owner came out from the kitchen to tell me they just finished making more pies to fill up the fridge and the Chicken Tiki sounded good. Since it was freshly made and not frozen, the cook time would be much faster for my time crunch time than the frozen rolls. It smelled great cooking in the toaster oven, but when I got to cut into the innards, oh, so, tasty! Highly recommend Celtic Tea Shoppe for their awesome savory pies…and, btw, the pork roll was great as well!

Love the variety at The Celtic Tea Shoppe. My three soccer players (twins and our exchange student) were obsessed after late night soccer practices. From the packaging to the perfect texture, they are a winner!!! The staff is amazing. Emails and phone calls to arrange pick up. Customer service is a 10!

I'm originally from England and have lived in the US for the last 12 years. I've tried dozens of different places all over the country who make British food because I miss the flavours of "home" often. The Celtic Tea Shoppe absolutely nail it with all of their offerings, and I don't say that lightly. I (sadly) don't live in California but I've visited a lot over the past two years and every single time I'm here, I have to visit their store or I go home very very sad that I didn't. They make the type of food you end up craving and everything they make - sweet or savory - is just 10/10. Their sausage rolls are the *BEST* I've had in the US - even my homemade ones (that I've tried to perfect for a decade) don't come close. I am genuinely bummed that I live in Texas and only get to taste their delicious offerings a few times a year, but it's such a treat when I do! The owners are also very lovely and the passion they have for what they create shows. I shall continue to bug them about moving to Texas just for me ;) If you're reading this review to decide whether to try them out, just stop reading and go already, you won't regret it at all. Be sure to try the sausage rolls, but save some for me! 🤤 (Just a note - Before baking the sausage rolls, brush a bit of beaten egg on top of each one to get a nice golden finish. It's a small extra step but it's a step you shouldn't skip in my opinion.)

I met this shop through the Dickens Fair originally and was during the pandemic, shopped more and more there. The owners are incredibly professional and passionate about what products they sell. I love coming in to pick up some items and briefly chatting with them because I see how much this local business is dedicated to their product and to their clients. I now always have something stored in the freezer from the Celtic Tea Shoppe and my son is in LOVE with the magic color changing tea! The quality of the food is authentic and I always feel wonderful supporting local businesses that are passionate about what they do and sell in their communities. Honestly I can not find any other business that sells similar food items to the quality I can find here. My personal favorites are the Chicken pies and the pasties. If you are looking for a PROPER scone that does not resemble the taste and texture of a rock, ORDER THE SCONES FROM THEM IN ADVANCED!! Other than making things myself, this is the ONLY LOCATION I CAN FIND which makes a scone that is light and similar to what you would find in the British isles. IF I had a criticism it would be that I could not pick up scones when I drop by, but if they made them in those batches, the scones would be something I could find anywhere. The owners are passionate about the quality of what they put out into the public for consumption. I HIGHLY recommend this place especially for their take away tea boxes!!!

Yelp
A Irish bakery, with sweets and more. I got the white chocolate whiskey from them. It's a small store, but decent. The service was good.

Yelp
Delicious scones ! I ordered 5 flavors of scones (lemon, blueberry almond, maple pecan, cranberry orange, and buttery sweet ) to give to friends and family for Mother's Day weekend. All the scones were delicious and received rave reviews from my friends ! I also bought some of the lemon curd, which the owners make themselves. That was an extra special treat that I highly recommend it. I love this shoppe and appreciate how kind and helpful the owners are. It is obvious they take great pride in providing quality products. I will definitely order from them again!!

Yelp
The Celtic Tea Shoppe is a 10. Outstanding customer service and the care with which they prepare and package is stellar. They truly care about customers. My three soccer players the macarons. Really robust flavors and decorated to perfection.

Yelp
My mom was Irish, and rarely baked. But when she did, it was homey comfort food. One of the highlights of our year was coming back from a hike and being able to smell sausage rolls baking before we even made it across the front yard. Kristen's Irish soda bread, sausage rolls, and pies are as good as my mom's. THAT IS THE HIGHEST PRAISE I CAN GIVE. I went to an event there recently, with handmade crafts, Celtic-style music, storytelling, and of course the delectable food. Well worth the jaunt to get there and celebrate!

Yelp
This shop is so cute. All the items for sale are made by the sweet couple that own the shop. I tried two teas both were very nice. The sweet soda bread was awesome. And the whiskey bread is a must try if you like whiskey. Will be going back to try more.

Yelp
A search for artisan desserts led me to The Celtic Tea Shoppe. I browsed their online shop, and I was immediately sold by the fact that they had Chocolate Millionaires (chocolate caramel shortbread). Chocolate Millionaires among my favorite type of cookies, but I haven't found a local confectionery store that actually carried them. I would have to make them myself or wait to receive them as gifts during the holidays. Obviously the chocolate millionaires made it to my cart, and then it was a slippery slope from there. As soon as you know it my cart was piling up with other items such as a cauldron cake, Irish whiskey cake, mint chocolate shortbread cookies, and Irish whiskey fudge. Can't wait to try their savory meat pies though. I'm also looking forward to their seasonal/holiday menus coming up for the rest of the year. Halloween and Fall baked goods are available now. The online ordering process was clear and super easy. (Be sure to write in the comment box during checkout when you intend to pick up your order.) When I arrived at the shop, I saw the designated area right outside the storefront for curbside pickup. I called the shop to let them know I was there, and a gentleman was ready to hand off my order. He kindly greeted me and placed the goodies inside my car for me. The whole transaction was professional and totally complied with Covid regulations as both of us wore masks and were mindful social distancing. With that said, I found customer service to be excellent overall. Prior to placing my online order, I had a question regarding one of the items. I called into the shop and corresponded with whom I believe was Kristen, one of the owners. She was seriously the friendliest and nicest person ever as she helped me over the phone. I'm not proud of it, but I definitely tried a little bit of everything when I got home. Every single item was delightful in their own ways. The chocolate millionaires were the best, of course, but particularly because of the caramel. I saw that the handcrafted caramel is what The Celtic Tea Shoppe is known for, and I can certainly validate that the caramel is that good. Other positives include the buttery shortbread and that it wasn't overly sweet. The peppermint shortbread was great too. It had the same quality as the chocolate millionaires with a strong peppermint fragrance but not in taste. The Irish whiskey cake was pretty moist, and the Irish whiskey fudge was soft and creamy. Both of them really packed some whiskey punches. They did not go light on the whiskey flavor, which probably had a lot to do with why I enjoyed these very much hah! The cauldron pie was like a thick, giant chocolate moon pie. Talk about chocolate overload. If you're a chocolate lover, this would be for you. Lastly, I want to note that the desserts were all packaged well. The shortbread cookies, in particular, were double packaged with the plastic wrap and then the paper bag.

Yelp
I ordered some treats for my birthday and it has all been so delicious! The curry chicken meat pie - amazing. One of the best things I've eaten. It's so cozy and comforting. Will definitely be repurchasing in the fall and winter time. The tea + scone+ clotted cream was yummy! Have yet to try the ginger newts, cauldron cake but still here thinking about the curry chicken pie.

Yelp
My daughter found out Monday that she has a Day of The Dead assignment due on Wednesday. We are Irish and found out this store existed and was just down the street. As part of the assignment she had to bring food from her culture. Store says they close at 6. I ran over after work it was 5:40. Sign says closed and a gentleman was coming out. I said I thought you closed at 6. He asked me what time it was and I said 5:40 and he said okay come in. I parked and we came in I just wanted some biscuits. He grabbed them. And from the back comes this very rude woman telling me how they posted it on their website a and Facebook how they were closing early. Their website as far as I can tell doesn't say that. I got the hours from here and Google. But that is all beside the point the gentleman was going to help me. She was so rude telling me the register is closed blah blah. If she had been nicer with her tone and why they couldn't help me I would have been disappointed but I would understand. She clearly doesn't want new customers. I won't be back.

Yelp
Excellent sweets and savories, I love their chocolate caramel shortbread. They have a wide variety of items but it changes depending on season and what festivals and events they're involved in. You can tell they love creating interesting takes on old favorites, reimagined for the wizarding and renaissance world. Shop is small but cute! Always call and check their web site because they aren't always open, ask where they're selling so you can visit local events as well.

Nicki B.

Yelp
Service was to provide sandwiches for mothers day. Agreed in person. Placed online order as directed by owner. Order canceled because they are not open on Sundays. Calendar clueless!

Yelp
So glad I found this local hidden gem! Their website is super easy to navigate which makes ordering a breeze - for local pickups, just leave a comment when you're checking out! I got a confirmation email right away and drove up to the store on my pickup date/time. The parking lot is huge and they have cones marked on the curb for pickup - you simply call the store to let them know you've arrived and they bring it right to your car. We got some caramel apples (the apples were so perfectly crisp and fresh!), brittle and caramel corn. They even threw in a small sample they said I would like - and I did! Everything was super delicious but the caramel apples were my favorite.

Perv R.

Yelp
Store says it should be open, but it's not. Even the sign on the door says it should be open, also even though lights are on - doesn't look like anyone is at the shop (or any of the machines are in use). Bakery case isn't stocked ... Beware they might not be open if you arrive (unknown if they are still in business)

Yelp
Love this wee shop. They were sold out of a lot yesterday -duh, it was late on St Patrick's - but the cranberry Orange soda bread was epic. Will be my go to for breakfast fir the office colleagues instead of donuts or bagel. Cannot wait to return to try some of the other delights !

Yelp
I have always been curious about the Celtic Tea Shoppe. I, myself, have passed by it so many times but never had the time to go in and check it out until yesterday. I went in with my friend who was just as curious and we had a truly wonderful experience looking at all the teas and goodies this charming shop has to offer. One of the owners Kristen talked with us for at least 20 minutes and was so patient and kind. My friend had a lot of questions about the teas and she took the time to answer her thoroughly. We bought a few of their teas and some meat pies and are very impressed with both. Delicious, very flavorful and definitely comfort food!! Next time we will try their desserts which all look amazing. I'm so glad we finally took time out to explore this gem of a business.

Yelp
My first time visiting your store. Loved the British bangers in my Toad in the Hole recipe. The sausage rolls were a big hit. I did brush whisked egg on top after 10 mins to help them become more golden brown, turned out perfect.

Yelp
I love going to this shop! The first time I saw this place, I was being driven home after a hike and noticed the shop out of the corner of my eye. I was curious every time I always drove past the plaza. A couple of months ago, I looked them up on their website. I decided to check the place out for myself. The shop owners were so friendly and helpful. The first time, I bought vegetarian savory pies for my younger sister. Then, I went to The Celtic Tea Shoppe with my youngest sister, and she got a few items, including several different teas. Last month, I got off work in the mid-afternoon. I wanted to buy more maple pecan brittle chipotle before they closed for the holiday. I managed to get there before 5 pm after the heavy traffic. I bought two of the maple pecan brittle chipotle. The owner was courteous. Anyways, my review is for this afternoon in January 2023. I bought two maple pecan brittle chipotle while my sister got the sausage rolls, three savory pies, one Irish Cream tea, and one Heilan Coo mug. My sister and I got Heilan Coo stickers as a freebie. The sticker is so cute! We stayed to talk with the owner and my sister wished the other shop owner a happy birthday since today is his birthday.

Yelp
Happen to find this place accidentally and so glad we did. We liked it so much we've gone back again. Their crusted pies, similar to a pot pie are delicious. We've had their meat pies and chicken pies. Their little "bridies" are a great for lunch or a snack. They are a bit like an empanada. We also got this bangers and they were as good as any British restaurant I've been to.
google avatar

Yelp
Thank you for the wonderful lunch. Each item was delicious. Also love your Tablet and fudge.

Yelp
Great place to stock up on Christmas season traditional items. They ship out too if they are less perishable items.
google avatar

Andrew D.

Yelp
I ordered several items from The Celtic Tea Shoppe for the holidays. They shipped very fast in a nice box that was packaged securely. Everything was fresh and delicious. I will definitely be ordering again. The "Ren Faire Treats in a Box" made a great gift for my friend. We usually attend an annual Renaissance Fair, but could not go in 2020 due to covid-19. You get a lot in this box, like Irish Whiskey Fudge and a Rum Cake. I couldn't decide between the Scotch Whisky Cake and Christmas Pudding, so I ordered both! They were scrumptious, perfect with tea or coffee, while enjoying a book by the fire. The cake was just like my mom makes, light and golden. The pudding was thick and dark.
google avatar

Noemi G.

Yelp
I love this shop. I've tried almost all of their pies, their sausage rolls, tablets, and shortbread. Everything is delicious. Not only that but the owners are always so kind.

Yelp
This place is great! The fudge is to die for. The breads are amazing! Even the tea is special. I loved the whiskey cake and chocolate pretzels. Great service. I look forward to more treats from the Celtic Tea Shoppe. You gotta try this place!

Romsina T.

Yelp
Super rude lady, who has no manners and was annoyed by my presence and let's not forget how skittish she is . Just Incase you forgot lady you're in a service/retail business. Which means if you have a bad attitude and don't address your customers with respect and dignity you'll start to loose them, no matter how good your product is (which was not all that great) With that being said I will defiantly not go back there again.

Michelle K.

Yelp
Terrible! No one wore masks in the shop. I couldn't even go inside! This shop should be reported for not following the strict California guidelines!!!!!
google avatar

Connie C.

Yelp
Their caramel apples are incredible! The apples are so fresh and crisp and the caramel isn't overly sticky and tough to eat like other ones I've had in the past. Hands down the best and I'll definitely be ordering more :)
google avatar

Frank E.

Yelp
Definitely home of more that just Artisan Candies. We got take away meat pies for dinner tonight. Beef and Caramelized Onion and Beef and Cheddar. Both were Excellent, but I would put the Caramelized Onion just a little bit better because of the Worchestershire Sauce in the mix (I'm just guessing)...But it was packed with flavor. The crusts were perfectly flakey. Also got the Cauldron Cakes and Craft Beer Peanut Brittle..... yum !!

Yelp
I finally got a chance to check this place out today after a yelp-esque ladies lunch. First off.. how many kinds of home made marshmallows can you have? Answer: lots!! I ended up getting the chocolate swirl after sampling that one and the honey lavender. There is a huge long list of marshmallows like Bavarian Creme. Lots of different fudge options too.... I will return for the brown sugar fudge mark my words! What I ended up getting 1. some wonderful yelpers got me a caramel puddle with chocolate, caramel and pecans, a dark chocolate pretzel and caramels 2. the rocky road 3. caramels (holy mother best caramel EVER) 4. spicy dark chocolate bark with cherries Customer service is stellar. Extremely patient.. allowed us to sample stuff... I wish I had some excuse for buying in bulk...... SIGH I also eyed 1. the caramel apples 2. the other marshmallows 3. fudge pops

Yelp
The World According to Noelle Allergic Girl's Guide to Life "Due to the rude customer service at Artisan Candies, I won't be coming back anytime soon." Noelle W. I frequented Artisan Candies three times in the first week it was opened. I purchased the following items: caramel apples chocolate marshmallows chocolate puddles brown sugar fudge caramel candies chocolate fudge pretzels dipped in caramel and chocolate 25 brown sugar pops For Easter I purchased caramel apples and 25 brown sugar pops. I came on Saturday, April 3rd to pick up my sweets for Easter Sunday. I decided to taste one of the brown sugar pops and discovered that it tasted more like caramel than brown sugar. I carefully inspected the pops only to notice that half the pops were labeled "Fudge Pop" and the other half were labeled "Brown Sugar Fudge Pop." There must have been a mistake- I ordered only brown sugar pops. We drove back to the shop to let them know there was a mistake. The owner's aunt who is an older lady was the only one at the shop. When I told her about the brown sugar pops and fudge pops, she said they ran out of labels and that is why half my order said "fudge pops." This was alarming to me that they would mislabel food products- especially for someone like myself who has food allergies. I inquired why the brown sugar fudge pops tasted more like caramel than brown sugar. She had us sample brown sugar fudge and a brown sugar pop from the store. The brown sugar fudge tasted like brown sugar. The brown sugar fudge pop tasted more like caramel. As we were leaving the store the owner's aunt sarcastically said, "Thanks for letting me have a free brown sugar pop." I didn't even reply to her rude remark. Yes, the owner Kristen Scott is nice but her aunt needs training in customer service. I was a repeat customer in their first week open. Due to poor customer service and mislabeled food product I won't be back anytime soon. Noelle's Notes SKIP IT.

Yelp
I stopped by for their grand opening today and was so pleased to meet Kristen and Dean Scott, the owners. After running a successful online business for several years--and even getting national exposure on the Rachel Ray show--this local couple has now opened a shop in San Jose. I was invited to try some of the samples: spiced nuts, pecan and cranberry bark, fudge, and caramels. I had to pass on the bark, since I'm allergic to pecans, but Kristen was quick to let me try the caramel. The caramels are sooo buttery and creamy, with the perfect amount of chewiness. After a brief chat with the friendly pair, I walked away with some of their wonderful honey-lavender marshmallows, a s'more on a stick, and a bag of the caramels. I'm not at all a fan of marshmallows, but as Dean pointed out, I'd never tried homemade. I loved the texture of these; they're just so fun to squish between your fingers! Eating them was like eating a cloud--a delicious cloud. And the flavor was true lavender, which made my lavender-loving boyfriend happy. He also finished off the s'more on a stick, after letting me try one bite. Again, I'm not usually a fan of s'mores, but this homemade marshmallow dipped in chocolate and covered with graham cracker pieces was a decidedly upscale and delicious take on the campfire classic. Cheers to Kristen and Dean for opening a boutique artisanal candy shop in the heart of San Jose!

Yelp
Decadent, luscious and down right YUMMY! We came by Artisan Candies Grand Opening event was able to sample and taste some of the most wonderful confections I've ever experienced. I've never been a big on marshmallows - but after having Artisan Candies rocky road, I think I've become a convert. Each bite was divine - next thing I realized, I ended eating the whole thing! I need to pace myself so that I can try more! Kristen and Dean Scott have perfected their confectionary craft with a wonderful assortment of chocolates, caramels and marshmallow goodness.

Yelp
Another place where the service has gone downhill (so quickly, too!) - smile at your customers and don't test them like they're interrupting your day.

Nicole C.

Yelp
After the latest shipment fir spring specials, I have to say only the scotch whiskey cake was good. Everything else was big, but dry and w little flavor. Just being honest..

Yelp
OMG the scones... best ever! Can't wait to try everything here, as everything looks amazing. Super easy protocol for ordering and pickup. The weather was nice so we came on bicycles for our arranged curbside pickup and my order was delivered right into my basket! How's that for service?!

Julie O.

Yelp
Totally disappointing when you're trying to support small businesses and they're not even open 'normal' hours. Their website, Google and Yelp all have DIFFERENT information. I was delighted to try their tasty treats at the Dickens Faire a few weeks ago. So, I made the hectic drive over to their shop today to buy some additional treats for Christmas. When I arrived, there was a note on the door (pic attached). They're closed through the remainder of the year!?!? Wow - business must be incredible to close down on December 19th that far in advance of Christmas etc... Super disappointing and not somewhere I'll return since the hours of operation seem to be so limited.

Diana J.

Yelp
If you haven't tried the amazing goods from the Celtic Tea Shoppe, treat yourself to something special! I had never had their Scottish Shortbread or scones before and just got some -- both are so delicious! I also responded to the owner's request in our neighborhood Facebook community about donating oranges from our tree and was gifted a jar of orange marmalade from our very own oranges! I dropped them off yesterday and just picked up my jar today. So good. What a cool thing to sell marmalade from the fruit trees in our very own community. This is such a wonderful small business that I'm happy to support! Go check them out!

Yelp
Finally had a chance to try Artisan Candies. Both the husband and wife? were pleasant during my visit. They offered samples which is always a plus. It's a small, quaint shop and know you will not find all the items listed on their website. During my visit, I did not see any chocolate covered strawberries or caramel apples. It's possible these are special order items, but don't know. I stocked up on goodies that stood out for me. Pecan Toffee Salted Caramel Corn Pecan Log Peanut Brittle I'm by no means a chocolate snob but I'm a sucker for sweets. The quality of the products used are above average. The brittle and toffee are especially delicious. I noticed the salt levels are somewhat pronounced. Depending on who you ask this may be a good/bad thing. I would've preferred a lower salt level but wifey thought it was perfect. Prices are a bit higher here but well worth it. Would I return and recommend?, if you have a sweet tooth, Yes! * 3.5 Stars

Yelp
We ordered some pumpkin pasties and fruit pasties. They were both tasty, especially the pumpkin pasty. We also wanted the Wizard's Box but unfortunately it was sold out. I was really sleepy when I ordered online and put "today, Friday" for a store pickup when it was actually a Thursday. The lady was nice about the mix up. The poor reviews below don't make much sense. I always either check a small shop's website or call for the most updated hours.

Yelp
So, I've only been to this place once, and only bought the salted caramels, so my review is based solely on the experience purchasing the product, the product itself and the fact that I -will- be back. You can say 'They're just caramels.' and yeah, you'd be right, however, there are bad caramels, good caramels, great caramels and amazing caramels. As someone who has had caramels from Joel Robuchon, I've got something to compare to. These caramels are -extremely- good. The woman behind the counter was very sweet. I only wanted the one bag of caramels (mind you, wishing I had bought two!), she didn't try to upsell me on anything else, just reminded me that if I like these caramels, then I'll probably want to give their caramel sauce a try one day. She complimented my nails and I thought she was very nice, I struggle to believe this is the same woman some of these are reviews are talking about.. After the purchase, she smiled at me and asked if I'd like her to snip open the bag for me (admittedly, I was going to rip into it the moment I stepped foot into the car), so I said yes, please, she gladly did and I was a happy camper with a bagful of delicious caramels. So, fact of the matter is - I'm looking forward to going back, hopefully my next visit won't be any worse.

Tasted and found these folks at the Scottish games in Pleasanton. We are hosting an Irish themed holiday party and asked the dude if we can order food from him for the party. "Of course!" We get his little flyer. Check out the website, decide lots looks good and will fit our theme. Brother goes to the storefront, told to get our order in ASAP since they are busy during December with the dickens faire and we will have to pick it up on Thursday before the Saturday party since they won't be there Friday, again, dickens faire. No problem! Call today to try to get our order in. TRY. Oh apparently now they don't take orders ahead of time. They changed their policy in LITERALLY one day. Shitty. Totally shitty.

Yelp
This was a somewhat disappointing experience. I read the reviews on Yelp a while back and was driving down Pearl Avenue today and BOOM saw the Grand Opening sign (still out) and thought I'd give it a shot. The boyfriend and I bought: -Sweet Spiced Almonds (good) -S'more on a Stick (meh) -Lavender Honey Marshmallows (these will haunt me forever) Total: $10 Food-wise: the nuts were yummy but any farmer's market will have nuts that taste better (that's what she said) and more bang for your buck. I was looking forward to the S'more on a Stick and it just didn't quite taste like it came from a gourmet candy shop. It was more stale-Easter-candy variety in my opinion but okay. Just not mind blowing by any means. Now...for the flavored marshmallows...I remembered reading on Yelp that someone had tried the lavender honey flavored ones and so the bf and I bit into perfectly textured marshmallows that tasted less gourmet and more.....laundry soap. I get that it is a distinct flavor and generally appreciate such flavors...but we ended up throwing away probably $3.89 worth of the package. Customer Service-wise: a little off to be honest. The woman behind the counter seemed just slightly inconvenienced that we were there at all which I thought was weird. Of course it didn't help that they did not have the marshmallows we wanted to try on the shelf and I *gasp* asked if they had any more and she had to *gasp* turn 180 degrees around and ask the person in the kitchen to hand her a package. Umm, sorry? They have a $10 minimum policy in order to use credit cards...okay, well we hit the $10 mark and I offered her my credit card and she asked, "You don't have cash?" I replied, "Oh, I thought I could use my credit card if I spent $10." And she pulled out this relic of a credit card machine and was muttering about how it doesn't work and $10 is the (emphasize) MINIMUM and...my bf pulled out a $10 and ended the weirdness. I get that everyone has preferences for taste and maybe they would have gotten 3 stars if we had tried the Bavarian Creme marshmallows instead.

Yelp
Recently, I happened to be in that shopping complex for another store and noticed this shop. I absolutely love cute small businesses so was immediately excited and walked in. I was the only customer there and two ladies from the far back end of the shop walked up to the register. At first I complimented them on what I thought was a adorable little setup. Then, I asked them how long they had been there, and I was told 1.5 years. I was a little surprised because I live very close by and had never heard of the store or noticed it. Anyhow, I asked a few questions about 2-3 items since there were no descriptions. At this point, things started becoming awkward because it almost seemed like I had asked for a huge favor by asking for a description. I was confused but thought maybe I was observing too much; benefit of the doubt is a good thing so I didn't make anything of it. I decided what I wanted, paid for it, and received it. When I was about to head out, I thought that I would quickly mention a couple of ideas on how to get the word out about the store. Perhaps it was wrong of me to give advice when it was not asked for, but I actually did it as a well wisher because like I said, I really believe in small businesses. A simple "Thank You" would have been great but I was told "This conversation has come to an end" and as she said that, she pointed to the exit of the shop. I am so glad there was no other customer there, this was not only offensive, it was embarrassing. I told them, "How rude" ...I left my purchase on the counter, did not collect a refund, and left the store. Echoing what Linda said, if your customer is there to support you, the least you can do is be gracious. I will not be going back here and will not recommend it to any of my friends or family.

Yelp
Dropped by to meet up with Mercy and Linda, plus I wanted to have a caramel apple. I cannot remember the last time I had a caramel apple. (I think I might have Yelped it?) Before we made it to the store I was treated to a taste of the caramel and the honey-lavender marshmallows. Julie K. had purchased some during the first day of the Grand Opening and she was so kind to bring it to the YEE (on Saturday) and share her candied treasures. The caramel was so divine. The lavender marshmallow was sneaky. As I was eating it, I was saying, "Julie, I don't taste the lavender." Then whoosh, a fresh mellow blast of lavender. It was like a nice finish on a glass of wine. It was so nice. While we were at the store I had a sample of some bark, it was nice because it has spicy pecans, I had a sample of fudge---great, not too heavy. I bought a caramel apple. The caramel was so dreamy I sat down and just ate the entire apple to the core. I also got a "puddle" which is a turtle this one with pecans. It was really good (I didn't eat it at the same time as my apple). I am more of a caramel fan than a chocolate fan, so it was the caramel that had me making the yummy noises. But the chocolate (dark) was soft and smooth and the pecans were plentiful. It is the kind of creation where there are so many nuts that a few remain in the bag. They don't skimp on the nuts. It was really good. While they sell a varied of candies: brittles, barks, pops, marshmallows, etc. they only use dark chocolate. I would like to go back to get a smores on a stick. It was great to meet Dean and Kristen. I wish them great success and will send others over to assist in ensuring it.

Yelp
Been back again and didn't have the same problem Noelle had at all; surprised to read about that. Perhaps my palette is not as particularly astute, but I thought everything tasted great and was labeled correctly. I can understand how she could be upset tho... not sure how much of any of it was a misunderstanding... but it's all been tasty and with great service for me I'm hooked, now I've got to bike tomorrow to burn off all those tasty calories, LOL

Yelp
I have been buying Kristen and Deans candy for years and have never failed to be pleased. Not only have I purchased Smore on a Stick, puddles, some of the best caramel I've had (and I'm a whore for caramel), the AMAZING pumpkin/cream cheese holiday roll, the brown sugar fudge but all the flavors of their amazing marshmallows (Lavender is my fav!). My latest obsession is their popcorn. OMYGOD, I can't even choose which is best. The Java is fabulous but the salted caramel corn is like crack. If I'm not careful, I could eat a whole bag of the stuff. Even my CAT goes nuts trying to get into the bag for a piece. I should also say their pralines are to die for and I am super picky with my pralines. Up until now I would only get pralines shipped to me from Southern Candymakers in the French Quarter. Now I just have to drive to the South Bay. Actually now that I think of it, I must have tried about 96% of their offerings and have not found one that I didn't like. I have also been into their store and for myself have never had any issues with customer service. Anyone who reads my Yelp views knows this Diva spares no words in calling out bad food, bad service or poser morons. My only regret is that they don't have a store in the East Bay where I can be in there more often.

Yelp
The beef and caramelized onion meat pies are delicious! The shortbread cookies are to die for too. Can't wait to try more things!

Yelp
When it comes to boutique candy shops, Artisan Candies offers a different and wonderful approach to handmade candies! The shop is tucked away in the Branham Square shopping center which means if you blink, you might miss it! My favorite treats are the Maple Pecan Chipotle Brittle (OMG so good) and the salty/sweet Chocolate Caramel Pretzels (delish!). I can say... with pride... that I have tried everything the shop has made, except for a couple of the special holiday items. Everything is delicious and I always feel like it's an adventure to trying something new. Rum Pecan Caramel Corn? Yeah... it was perfect. I don't get to the shop half as much as I would like to (which I am sure my waistline is happy about) but when I do I am NEVER disappointed. I have yet to use the online ordering for my candy cravings but I have visited the website and it looks painless. The owners are wonderful and always make me feel welcome in the shop. It's a labor of love to have your own candy shop and I am so happy to have found Artisan Candies! :)

Yelp
I can't say enough about the customer service here. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. When my order was going to need to be delayed, they called in plenty of time to let me know and ask what they could do to make it right! The food was worth the wait and was delicious. The scones were baked fresh (why there was a slight delay). I picked up some goodies for tea kits I was making and everyone said how much they loved the food. The chocolate covered caramel and shortbread was a huge hit. The vegetarian hobbit pie is too delicious! I was super excited to see they have some Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings themed foods. I will definitely be using them again! Looking forward to trying a afternoon tea package! Ohhh! I've had the rum cake in the past...worth every bite!

Yelp
I wanted to send a surprise "Care Package" for my daughter in college who was busy studying for her final exams. Artisan Candies was the perfect choice! Her care package was delivered right on time!! The troll ears and the salted caramels are to die for!! How do I know? My daughter saved me one of each....which was not an easy task with her college roomies hovering around the candy box like they were vultures. Because my daughter lived in a dorm, her address was a bit unusual, so I emailed the owner of Artisan Candies, explaining the problem (i.e. her address wasn't able to be used with a conventional address form). The owner took care of it ....no problem! The only problem was that I didn't order myself a box! ; )
