The union highlights how the 80% scheme can vary in its application—covering directly employed staff while leaving others dependent on employer policy—and raises concerns about insecure hours and contract types (including zero-, 8- and 16-hour contracts). It also points out that a minimum-wage worker averaging 30 hours would receive about £247.89 per week after tax under the scheme, which the union says is insufficient support." - James Hansen
