Ain't nothing to complain about here. Except for parking. But I don't blame Wooden Robot for that at all (and neither should you - it's NoDa, you should know by now that it sucks regardless of where you are. Find street parking and buck up, kiddo)
So! The Chamber at Wooden Robot - a secondary operation from an already very-successful brewery. This time with a shiny new upgraded rooftop option! The staples are all there, but the main point of this brewery is to focus on barrel aged and funky offerings. However, those take quite a while to brew, so in this early on phase, there's not too too much that's specialized. That will change in time though!
The downstairs location has all of their beers - their staples (Good Morning Vietnam, What He's Having, etc.) and a full list of what's Chamber specific. If you're coming to try the new experimental stuff, downstairs is where you want to order. It's spacious and has standing room tables as well. If you dare to go outside (and I understand if you don't, it gets hot as crap here sometimes), there's lots of picnic tables and a lot of the time, there's even a food truck!
The real gem of this place is the rooftop. It's accessible via two staircases - one outside, and one inside. There's a small bar upstairs to order (your tab carries over), but the selection is usually just their staples. The view, however, is awesome. You can tower over NoDa like Mufasa showing Simba what land is his. You can sit on benches that look like they were stolen from City Lights but this place is actually cool. There's shaded picnic tables, the rusted NODA sign (although from up on the rooftop, you'd think you were in the ADON neighborhood), and you can see the sunset.
This is the brewery experience that Charlotte deserves, *and* the one it needs, so go hunt it. Because the beer is good, not because it's a rooftop. It's NoDa's silent guardian, a watchful protector, and has Dark Beer.
