The experience overall is the typical ice cream walk in and walk out happy. The flavors offered are diverse and seasonal. The artwork inside is different and fun to look at while waiting in line. They have shakes and do other interesting offerings, too. The service is a 4 because they need to have more than 1-2 people serving. We showed up twice and once they had only one person and they were definitely overworked. They were doing the best they could with a malfunction to the POS and could only manage cash. Will be back anyway, good ice cream and I don’t fault the employee but the company can do better.

So delicious! Orange creamsicle was Heavenly! A scoop of MD Mud (with Vanilla too) and 🌈 sprinkles really hit the spot for the littles!

We stumbled upon this place and were so glad we did. The ice cream was rich, creamy, and full of flavor — you can tell they care about quality. The staff, her name Kylah, was super friendly and made us feel right at home. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back and try every flavor. A sweet gem worth visiting!

I’ve tried multiple ice cream shops all throughout DC and The Charmery has been my new favorite spot. From the cleanliness, to the decor, to the customer service? 10/10! I’m usually picky when it comes to trying different things but Kristian has been such a great help and very patient every time I decide to come and get a sweet treat! :)

the friendly staff greeted me with smiles and were eager to help me choose from their extensive menu of flavors a lot of help from Kris he was very paitient as I tried many flavors lol but The shop itself was clean, cozy, and had a welcoming atmosphere. What sets this place apart is the attention to detail and the passion for ice cream that the staff and owners clearly have. They were more than happy to offer samples and provide recommendations based on my taste preferences. Overall, ChaRmery exceeded my expectations in every way. Whether you’re an ice cream enthusiast or just looking for a sweet treat, this place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be returning soon!

I really love this ice cream shop. I love coming to see what new flavors they have. I bring the kids and they love it as well. The staff member Kristian is always friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. He’s great with recommending flavors that we would enjoy.

The staff at The Charmery were friendly and I loved the selection of ice cream. I loved the ice cream sandwich-flavored ice cream. I will definitely be returning again!

Today, Friday, May 2, at 5:40 p.m., my family and I decided to get ice cream. The man who served us treated us terribly. We told him we wanted three ice creams, but he gave us something different, so we had to pay for it. When we finished paying, he was racist and told us we could only speak English, no other languages. I would love to speak to the manager or the owner because it was horrible. A mother and her daughter also wanted to use the bathroom, and he treated her terribly. Knowing it was an emergency for his daughter, he told her she couldn't go in without buying something first. It makes me angry that this place has such an immoral and cruel person who treated everyone so poorly at that time.

Great addition to the neighborhood. Delicious ice cream. Vanilla is always a good test for quality overall and the one I got was creamy and delicious. Kids loved it too.

Their motto is "Happiness Through Ice Cream." How appropriate is the motto? If you seek something different off the beaten path and have some level of adventure in trying new things, this is undoubtedly the place for you. I say this in a good way, really. The flavors that they serve are not your typical "Häagen-Dazs, Ben and Jerry's, or Baskin Robbins. When I first walked in, I was slightly intimidated by some of the names and the combinations/array of flavors. However, the staffer was patient and encouraging, allowing me to sample a couple. Please take a look at the attached photo to see the description of all the flavors. On this occasion, I decided to go with "Pound for Pound," which has sweet ice cream with pound cake pieces and rainbow sprinkles. It was absolutely delicious and took me back to my childhood days. So, if you are in the area of the location, please make your way by and try their ice cream. I've said it once and will repeat it: " You will thank me."You are welcome!

There is a new ice cream shop in the new Walter Reed complex on Georgia Ave. in Washington, D.C., The Charmery, that offers inventive flavors. We stopped in just a few days after opening. It is so new that the permanent store sign over the front door isn't even up yet. There was no line, so we stepped in and were immediately offered tastes of whichever ice creams we wanted. I chose the Old Bay caramel, which, surprisingly, was delicious. The caramel flavor was strong, the Old Bay spicy, but tempered by the sweetness, and the ice cream was smooth and creamy! I ended up getting a small children's-sized cup of "Ice Cream Sando," which is billed to taste like an old-fashioned ice cream sandwich. It was good, creamy, and had nice chocolate sandwich pieces. My husband got the "Goody Goody Gumdrop," which was fruity and sweet. Other flavors included: Honey Cilantro, Maryland Mud, Malty Vanilla Chip, Lady Grey, and Salty Caramel. They also list vegan flavors on their website, but I'm not sure I saw them. You have your choice of cup, cone, or sundae with all the toppings. Plus, they have ice cream pints ready to grab and go, if you're willing to share with friends or family. There is no inside seating but there is a large green outside the door with an astro-turf area with seats, plus tables and chairs on a patio area. The shop is located right by the new Whole Foods and there is on-street parking. Highly recommend!

Great service, great ice cream and the ambiance is perfect!! Definitely recommended! The employees are very friendly and welcoming the flavors are different and stick out from other ice cream shops.

We were excited to find this scoop shop across from our favorite Whole Foods. The shop is cute and funky and service is friendly. I like the ice cream here and appreciate the fresh waffle cones. They have limited flavor options and I noticed they didn't have some of the company's newer offerings. My favorite so far has been the mint chip, but they also recently had a really good cinnamon ice cream. The loyalty cards are a nice touch.

This ice cream shop is sooo cute, its in the new Walter reed plaza. The aesthetics are super cute and instagram worthy. The team that works there is so incredibly kind and welcoming the guy that is there when I usually go is always sure to give an honest opinion about flavors and offers to let us taste any and everything before buying, and they always have a vegan option. 10/10. If your in NW near Walter Reed I'd most definitely stop by!

Day 2 of the new year has been good to us, and what better way to end the day than a visit to the Charmery. Maryland Mud and Rye Whishky Eggnog were delicious. And a special message from my daughter who appreciated being recognized by Tia for being the cutest customer so far in 2025: "Thank you Tia for my sticker, I love it"!

Everyone we've met working there has always been super nice and friendly! the ice cream is delicious and the shop is clean. A great place to pop in for a sweet treat!

The service is really slow. Six people in line with one person helping customers. The other employee kept himself busy by wiping the counters. Customer service is key to keep a successful business, especially when the prices are not cheap.

This place is outrageously expensive for tiny serving sizes, less than mediocre customer service, and the ice is certainly nothing to write home about.

Not a great first impression. Ordered two single scoops for the kids. Got one that was sized appropriately and one that was quite teeny. When I asked if we were given a kiddie instead, the employee responded that it was small because it was hard to scoop. Not ok when one scoop is almost $7.

Stopped in here after a hard day for a scoop and was so pleased to find amazing customer service and really awesome, DMV influenced flavors! So unique! If you like fishers popcorn you'll love the old bay caramel flavor it's the best!
