"An Italian couple built the beach getaway of their dreams on a gorgeous stretch of coastline near the fishing village of Watamu, Kenya. Today, it’s the Charming Lonno Lodge, an eight-suite boutique hotel personally presided over by the owners. Though the hotel is very much of its place — built into the rocky landscape looking out over the Indian Ocean, with traditional Swahili beds and artwork by Kenyan artists throughout — it’s also rich with Italian details, from the imported bed linens to the restaurant’s fresh pasta menu and Chianti-heavy wine list. Guest rooms are simple, with exposed brick walls, carved wood details, and ocean views; some have terraces. My wife and I had an absolutely pleasant stay at the Charming Lonno Lodge which is such a gem with the most charming host, giving us a truly 5 star experience. We appreciated the warm welcome, cozy spacious room and serene environment. The meals were delicious and they were very thoughtful in accommodating dietary preferences. |I would highly recommend the Charming Lonno Lodge to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. Having holidayed in Watamu many times before, this was definitely the best experience. We will be back!

I loved my stay at Lonno. The entire team is very friendly and professional. From the on time airport transfers to the hotel team, everyone made me feel welcome and safe. Silvia, Grace, Rajab and everyone were just amazing and treated me like a long lost friend. 😄|The rooms are beautiful and the food is pretty good! The entire property is marvellous and they have 2 stunning dogs that are friendly and gentle. I really enjoyed my time there and would have definitely extended it had there been an available room.

The Charming Lonno Lodge is a true gem! I had a wonderful 'me time' there, thanks to the incredible hospitality of Silvia and Aldo and their exceptionally friendly staff. The entire lodge is sparkling clean. A huge thank you to Silvia for the upgrade and to Nickson for a memorable beach walk. Everything was beautiful, from the amazing massage to the great food. I absolutely recommend this fantastic place!

We stayed with our family at Lonno Lodge and had the most relaxing week! The owners are very welcoming and great hosts! The staff is so friendly and the rooms are very clean and so comfortable. The experience is luxurious in every way and they made us feel at home. The location is also perfect and we were able to take their electrical bikes to the center to eat ice cream. I would recommend anyone to book your holiday here!

The Lonno Lodge is truly a charming, stunning hotel. The atmosphere is serene with beautifully furnished rooms and an amazing garden. The whole place is a masterpiece of interior and landscape design. The dining room has a fantastic view to a big pool, gardens and sea. Food is delicious, both Italian and Kenyan. And service is impeccable and all staff very friendly. We also much enjoyed the long reef hikes and beach walks, as well as occasional siesta in the garden wingbeds. Many thanks to Silvia for the great ideas and tips on places to visit and things to do. This was a dream come true holiday.

We had the best time at Lonno Lodge! The atmosphere is so peaceful, the rooms are beautiful and super clean, and the views are just breathtaking. The food was some of the best we’ve ever had on a trip, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home. You can really feel the personal touch in everything. Our stay at the hotel was incredibly enjoyable. We felt comfortable under the care of Sylwia and Aldo, for which we sincerely thank them. They helped us organize our time and explore the surrounding attractions. The hotel is beautiful, situated on a cliff overlooking the ocean, with unique architecture using local materials. The pool is large. It recently opened a new spa.The food was delicious. This was our first time in Kenya and we traveled there with some concerns. The hotel has warm and friendly atmosphere that made us eager to return to the Charming Lonno Loge.
