The Charming Lonno Lodge Watamu

We enjoyed a whole week of relaxation in the comfort of Lonno Lodge. Spacious accommodation in traditional style with comfortable beds, good hot showers, and a lovely private terrace. The pool is large and we made the most of it, in between relaxing on the poolside loungers. All the people that we met working there were very friendly and determined to please. Good cooked breakfasts, a full lunch or bar snacks and a different set menu each evening added to our enjoyment. The owners, Sylvia and Aldo, are excellent hosts.

Our stay at Lonno lodge was one of the most pleasant and relaxing stays we've had anywhere. The food was the best in Watamu, hands down. The pool was incredibly calm, quiet, and relaxing. The view overlooking the ocean, with the reef a few hundred yards away (and walkable in low tide!) was such a privilege to look at every day. Our favorite part of the trip were the first-class dinners, where Silvia and Aldo sit down to enjoy as well every evening! Silvia and Aldo also have a little family trio of dogs that occasionally roam through the property. They are adorable and so well trained - they will let you pet them if you like, otherwise they keep their distance so it's no issue for those who aren't keen.

Our stay at Lonno was an unforgettable experience! From the warm welcome by the friendly staff to the peaceful, beautifully designed rooms with stunning ocean views, everything about this place was exceptional. Dining with the ocean in view made each meal feel special, and the attentive staff ensured we felt pampered throughout. The staff at Lonno are able to help with dinner reservations (and getting around Watamu) although I would not recommend missing the 3 course dinner at Lonno. ||One of the most memorable experiences was the breathtaking low tide walk to the Seven Islands, where we could explore the stunning rock pools and sea creatures while enjoying the unique coastal beauty up close.

Silvia and Aldo are the most excellent hosts along with immaculate staff members who look after every guests needs. Delicious 3 course meals, delightfully appointed rooms, very peaceful, and great access onto the shore at low tide. Silvia arranged a fabulous day trip snorkelling, followed by a lunch at Mika Creek Hotel followed by a magical dhow cruise with the Nuru Baharani Dhow. Robert the Tuk Tuk driver knows everywhere to go. So relaxed after 4 days - definitely not enough. It’s a must return to location

Gorgeous, breezy accommodations. Delicious, fresh food. Absolute paradise! Silvia is a delightful and warm host and the staff is kind, and helpful. Everyone made us feel right at home as soon as we arrived. My cousin and I enjoyed our stay here very much!

One of the best resorts on the Kenyan Coast for a couples getaway. Loved every minute that we spent here. Would definitely go back. The staff are extremely attentive and take great care of you. The food menu onsite is very well crafted. Overall a great place to unwind away from all the noise.

We had a wonderful 8 nights, Sylvia and Aldo were so welcoming and all the staff were so helpful. Beautiful relaxing environment and lovely pool. Sylvia arranged for meals out and boat trips which were excellent. Food was delicious throughout our stay. |Loved spending time with the 3 dogs too!

We stayed for 3 nights as a family (2 adults and 2 kids aged 8 and 7) at The Charming Lonno Lodge in January 2025. It was a fantastic experience - one of the most relaxing places we have stayed at. Silvia and Aldo were incredible hosts who went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. This hotel is their baby and therefore the level of dedicated, personal attention that a guest receives from them is unmatched at any other luxury hotels we have stayed at (and a much more personal guest experience compared to large luxury hotel chains). The food is absolutely delicious, fresh and excellent quality - and guaranteed to be fantastic because Silvia and Aldo were eating the same food on site. Our daughter loved playing with their dogs Half, Bea and Nala and we felt truly safe, looked after and relaxed because of the superb person attention of the owners and their staff.
