The Cheese Board

Leiza and Justin, a young couple, bought this place a little over a year ago. They have been in the food business for a long time. Justin worked his way through high school with the original owners and continued in the food industry in various restaurants in Atlantic City and offshore. It shows. I have enjoyed their excellent homemade soups, salads, and other fare. The potato leek soup is silky! Their cheese selections are excellent. If you have a chance to chat with the owners, you will appreciate their depth of knowledge about food. The place is clean and bright and the staff is very attentive. A pleasure to be in such nice and tasteful surroundings. Prices are reasonable.

Really excellent! The best salad, soup and sandwich place in the area. Hands down. Finally found a shop that serves great food and not the average and below average items that are far too common. I would eat here every day! I wish they were open for dinner and I would eat here twice a day!

I had an amazing lunch today at The Cheese Board! A delicious cup of their pumpkin bisque and a turkey sandwich on sourdough bread. Everything was so fresh and delicious!! If you haven’t eaten here I would absolutely recommend it !

Second time in a week ordering and both times were great! Ordered turkey and Brie sandwich. Turkey is fresh, bread is crunchy but good. Portion size is nice, half for lunch and half for dinner. Highly recommend! Will absolutely make this my regular place to order lunch when I’m at work.

Very pleasant experience. the BLT on sourdough was awesome! bought chicken salad to take home also excellent. Everything was fresh, the homemade chips are AWESOME!! Service was friendly, atmosphere very calming. I got my order to go but decided to sit outside with my dog. They even came and checked on me knowing I was taking it to go My definite go to place.

If your looking for a flavorful and fresh breakfast or lunch spot, look no further! Today I made my way to The Cheese Board for lunch and tried the french onion soup with a chicken parm sandwich, both of which surpassed my expectations! I will definitely be back to try some of the other menu items! Bonus points for a friendly and comfortable dining space!

The Cheese Board has always been one of my favorite spots to get a sandwich in the area. They have a nice variety of sandwiches and salads to choose from and there is always a great seasonal or weekly special going on.

Cozy atmosphere, fresh food, and great customer service.

I ventured into this establishment by chance as I happened to be in the area and I'm very glad I did! The premises was very clean and simple to see the menu and order your selection. The staff were very friendly and professional! I ordered the Tropical Pig on Ciabotta bread and it was mouth watering. The apple slaw mixed in with shredded pork for a tasty delight. Not to mention complimented well with sides of kettle cooked potato chips and slices of pickle. I was very satisfied with this meal and I'm very glad I walked in this sandwich shop out of curiosity. I highly recommend The Cheese Board for your next meal!! My compliments to the owners!

My husband and I just came from the cheeseboard for the first time with the new owners. It was so so good. We both had chicken salad. His was on a fantastic fresh baguette roll. Mine was in the salad. The dressing was excellent and the owners are so so sweet a great place to have a nice lunch Give it a 10.

This place is very welcoming clean very mellow. I had bread pudding. It's probably the best one I've ever had and heated up nice for you caramel all over it and I had a cup of coffee, which was great coffee, but it was still great. One of the owner, Leza was very nice easy to talk to. I would definitely recommend a place for a nice late lunch and a soothing atmosphere.

I'm no stranger to The Cheese Board. The Cheese Board is located within a shopping center, no need to worry about parking, there's plenty! Dine in or choose to have your meal taken to go. They offer a number of different speciality sandwiches but when I saw their crab roll on the menu, I couldn't say no. The crab roll offers an ENORMOUS amount of crab and avocado. If you like a little spice, you'll enjoy the spicy sauce that's paired with the sandwich. The bread roll is soft (doughy and most similar to a soft pretzel). Check out The Cheese Board for lunch!

This place is amazing! I only had a taste of what they can do, but they've definitely kept this place up with its history and have only made it better. Such an array of menu options, cheeses and jellies. The staff is very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. LOVED the chicken salad sandwich and the pickled cucumbers, what a great touch. A lunch spot, take out spot and prep for a good wine night. Will definitely be making my way back here soon!

Had the burrata toast here today and WOW is all I have to say!!!! Literally AMAZING! Also had the brown butter chocolate chunk cookie with maldon flaked sea salt and it was literally the best cookie that I have ever had! We will definitely be back!!! Friendly service

New young owners, very friendly...Very clean... my personal favorite is the grilled Cuban, I always get it with yellow mustard... Coleslaw is awesome, actually all there sides are great, for that matter, it's all good, I'm just on the Cuban kick... you won't go wrong!

What an amazing experience today! We are long time customers of The Cheeseboard and happened to stop in today for the first time since the new owners took over. Justin was incredibly welcoming and passionate about describing some of his creations. We didn't realize it at first, but he's the owner and head chef. The food was amazing! Salad was fresh and abundant and the Turkey and Brie sandwich was to die for! I'll be back again just for this. The restaurant is immaculate. Absolutely spotless. Justin's wife came out to check on the table and then we overheard Justin compliment the cooks with a "Good job guys..." comment as he passed by them. Being in business myself, that gesture spoke volumes. His respect for customers and employees radiated and his passion for the food was equally obvious. Veggie Wrap Portabella mushrooms cauliflower, zucchini, roasted peppers, spinach,onions and fresh mozzarella on a spinach wrap. Hot & Delicious

Just had lunch there. I ordered a pear salad with walnuts, blue cheese, balsamic dressing. I asked to add a grilled chicken breast. There was hardly any blue cheese and the walnuts should have been candied. The chicken was bland and had no flavor. Never going back!

Turkey sandwich ($11) was a complete mess. Turkey looked like leftover scraps. No slices just small amount of tiny pieces that fell out of sandwich as you try to eat it. Tasteless-

I usually get the turkey with smoked gouda and roasted pepper spread. The pepper spread is really good and I get it on everything. Their ruben is great too!

Huge disappointment! They have gone down hill with food and service! After wait 20 minutes the server who took our order came over to ask what we ordered! Then they only had half the food on the menu, messed up the salad order and served canned peaches instead of Jersey fresh in their peach salad! Owner Kathy said she understood our disappointment and comped the meal and then rescinded her offer saying we should have "some grace" because she's having a bad day! Food bad, service bad.... Lesson learned- go across the street to Romanellis!

We felt welcomed from the moment we arrived to receiving our delectable sandwiches and sumptuous creamy tomato bisque soup with pesto drizzle! Both sandwiches were sensational- the grilled cheese had three different cheeses, balsamic reduction and grilled onions on fresh toasted sourdough bread. Amazing!! Never had anything like it! The Reuben sandwich my fiancé enjoyed and shared with me too was so tasty and so fresh! The creamy tomato bisque was a perfect accompaniment! Highly recommend treating yourselves to this wonderful find!!

Hadn't been to the Cheese Board in a few years. Went for lunch, not to mention that it was ridiculously priced, the quality of the food has gone downhill. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich which was more caramelized onions than chicken. When my dining partner tried ordering, every time she ordered something she was told they were out of one of the items including croissants. She finally ordered the turkey, brie and cranberry sandwich and she said it was so bad she couldn't finish it. Also bought a bag of chips which were extremely stale. The floors in the place were very sticky and dirty. Very disappointed.

I've eaten here a few times. They have some unique items on the menu and a little market to buy some take home products. A lot of organic and healthy items. Sandwiches are decent if a little expensive, but you get good portions and you don't feel like complete trash after eating a sandwich.

The cheese board has good food but is somewhat pricey but the quality is always consistent so I feel that this justifies the price. Sandwiches are tasty and they have some very creative combinations. My favorite is the roast beef and horseradish which has roast beef, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions and horseradish dijon dressing. TCB and a wide selection of salads and a wide variety of cheese at their cheese counter. They have a large variety of party trays and hot entrees that you can order. TCB has a small market that sells specialty items. Try it you'll like it

I've had sandwiches here before and they were good. Came back to have a salad. Terrible. Caesar salad with chicken. All the white veiny parts of the lettuce -- no green. A hard boiled egg that is green on the inside and tiny dry chicken pieces. And $10 at that! Avoid, avoid, avoid. My husband had the chef salad. Same white veins of lettuce. They forgot to add the cheese so they brought it on a plate. For a restaurant named the CHEESE BOARD, it was fake provolone that you would buy in shop rite. I told one of the employees and they just said they're sorry. I'm sorry too that I just wasted money in this place.

Everyone loved everything. It was a quick and easy way to entertain a small group. We will be back!

The Cheese Board is my go to place for sandwiches and salads when I am down the shore. My favorites are the chicken salad and the corned beef. They also have an excellent selection of cheeses, jellies and crackers! Perfect for entertaining. Kathy and Michael are really knowledgeable about their product and were able to help me pick out a great combination for a gift. I can't wait to go back!

The Cheese Board became a small obsession of mine when I got a job at Cornerstone Commerce Center. I left that job recently and it was very sad for me because I would no longer be able to go here for lunch. The space is cute, clean, service is friendly and efficient. Their sandwiches and salads are fresh, huge, and tasty. I had the best chicken waldorf special on a whole wheat pita here. For the fruit in the salad it had some sort of dried cherry that was delicious. It came with sliced cucumber and sprouts, it was excellent. I have also had a similar sandwich with curry chicken salad. The side pasta dishes are great and you can get a small container on the side for about $2. While you wait for your order to be filled which typically only takes about three minutes, you can sample the dips, specialty cheeses, dried veggies, they have on display for tasting that day. They sell specialty cheeses, crackers, and other food items. Everything is so tasty here. I just love it. And their display case of specialty cheeses is great. Nice selection of stuff. I have purchased a few wedges of cheeses for dinner parties and I was very happy with them. I just love it here and will miss it terribly.

Quality went way down and prices up. 2 sandwiches$26 no chips or pickle. Hardly any meat on sandwiches.

Came in on a whim after work. They said kitchen was closed but they were able to scrounge up a cold sandwich for me. I got the Hummus and Avocado sandwich and a side of coleslaw and they were both totally AWESOME! Looking forward to going back! The people at the counter were very helpful and friendly even though they were closing soon, too. Highly recommend.

This place definitely not what it used to be, I ordered a caprese sandwich and they forgot to put the balsamic on it, and the service was very slow, very limited drinks no ice. No chips or sides. Very limited seating and overall a disappointment. When I lived in the area a few years back it was the place to go for lunch, now it's a ghost town. Very sad

I grew up coming here. As a kid, my dad and I would get a smoked salmon platter, which was always pretty good. I always liked the setting - it's quiet and laidback. These days, I have Celiac Disease, and it always surprises me that, after all these years, they haven't really updated the menu to include options for people with food allergies. Would it be that difficult to get a loaf of gluten-free bread? Not really. Also, as someone else stated, there really isn't a great selection of cheese or items in the menu that use cheese in a creative way. There's so much more they could do. I'm a huge cheese fan, and if the selection was better, I'd be there all of the time.

I got a pita sandwich today and I shit you not it was literally just a piece of pita with like a BUNCH of hummus in there. An INSANE amount of hummus. A OVERWHELMING AMOUNT OF HUMMUS

Disappointing, the quality of their food has gone down hill the. Have not enjoyed the food the past few times I have gone. They used to be my favorite lunch place.

have grown up in linwood, my entire family has been a big fan since the 80's at least. We knew the owner next door SOS back in the day before the board expanded and would stop in for lunch after mailing our stuff. We get trays of sandwiches for family events less and less often. I can understand a sandwich shop not having sharp provone but this is the "cheese" board!. The food is still decent but it has been noticeably (not as special) maybe even decreasing year after year while the prices go up. You would think that for the price you would at least get a pickle with the sandwich. but on the other hand i have never been served anything below par. We still like the atmosphere and and the service is quick and sufficient. We don't indulge often but the deserts are good too.

Stopped in at 1 pm on a Monday. The place was empty.The counter girl regretted to inform me that she wouldn't have time to make up a cheese board but she was able to stand by for 10 minutes while we shopped the sparsely filled shelves of over prced imported condiments and crackers. Seemed to me that she could have made something up but was too lazy.We couldn't even sample the cheese and after spending over $80.00 we found that some cheese and mustard was to our liking others were just edible. We would have been better off picking some cheeses from shoprite.it would have been nice if the website mentioned that cheese shop employees were not capable of cutting cheese.

Been around as long as I can remember. Always consistent but pricey. A substantial size portion always, enough for me to share or pack up for tomorrow's lunch. Located in central square.

I love this place!! I always get a turkey pita pocket with lettuce, tomato, sprouts, and a thousand island dressing and it's always amazing!

Nothing to write home about. I am not sure what has changed as I use to love going to the Cheese Board. The inside use to be very inviting but now, they have sparsely stocked shelves that look more like an afterthought. The person taking the order was nice, no complaints there... we had to wait a while though to get our order as it only looked like they had one person preparing the food. We ordered a couple of salads and a tuna special. The tuna special used to come packed inside a pita that was sliced open and had all the ingredients stuffed inside. Now, they don't even bother putting it inside the pita but instead, wrap it around the tuna like a sandwich. It just changes the whole taste. The two salads we ordered were truly nothing special, not worth coming back for. Lastly, was their own bottled tea they make. Don't even bother with the tea.... it's just bad. Change can be good but in this case, they really missed the mark!

This place is an awesome find! We were down the shore, and looking for some cheese and spreads for the incredible bread from Circle Liquors (!), so I turned to Yelp. Their selection is huge, from mixes for different kinds of dips, to cheeses, to stuffed peppers, and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite. They also have samples, which are unsurprisingly delicious! The staff is friendly and helpful, and was thrilled to learn that I had found them on Yelp! Definitely worth a trip to the mainland if you're down the shore!

Great lunch place. Good selection of sandwich/wraps and salads with fresh ingredients. Nothing greasy or fried. I have never had a bad experience here and always feel the self-satisfied glow of having had a quick lunch that was actually healthy. prices are on the higher side considering the sandwiches don't come with any sides but the sandwiches are usually pretty big so you won't walk away hungry. A local favorite!

Their Greek Salad...wow! Lots of salad, great amount of feta, olives, tasty tomatoes, onion and the balsamic was awesome!! Under new ownership - should have known by the size and quality. Excited to try out the menu!

Very nice establishment. Their scones are the best. And they always have a nice selection of meats and cheeses. The interior is clean and the setting lovely.

This is a great lunch spot that I've been going to for years. Everything is delicious, but my favorites is the chicken salad topped with avocado. The service is quick and friendly, and there are always lots of interesting cheeses out to sample. My one quibble is that if you order the combo with 1/2 a sandwich and soup or salad, you are charged the full price of the sandwich plus $2. That really doesn't seem like a deal to me.

I went looking for a gift basket to several different locations... Stopped by the cheese board and they were able to put together a beautiful basket for me we started with one of the baskets they had made up and added a lot more cheese to it to make it the perfect gift everyone there was more than helpful The only issue I have with the place is the cheese counter is loaded with samples... I had to try everything they are also good... I guess it free samples are a problem then the place is outstanding!

Deli board would be better name. Unimpressed by sandwich menu. Pedestrian use of cheese in lunch menu. Strong selection of cheeses to go, but not a place to get food.

I really like the atmosphere of this place but the food hasn't been consistent in taste. I also really do not like their salad dressing as I find it very bland with no taste whatsoever. I also wish they used better quality balsamic and olive oil; you can taste how cheap it is.

If you want an overpriced sandwich, then this is the place. Nothing out of the ordinary compared to others,just the price.

We had lunch sent to our office today. The chicken was so rubbery No one could eat it. It's a shame, I am sure the person sending us the lunch paid a lot if money for the big tray that went in the trash. It as chicken Marsala and sauce was good but the chicken as inedible.

4 stars is for the Exclent cheese selection. Otherwise it would be 3. The cheese definitely makes this place. Great place to come for buying cheese and crackers and other food snacks and gifts. Lots of stonewall kitchen jams jellies and such. Great place to make your own food gift basket. The food was so so. It's only good if you get something with good cheese. I had the turkey and brie sandwich. The ingredients were high quality but it lacked in amount of brie.

The worst experience ever! Waitress dropped my sandwich in my lap and ruined shirt and pants with balsamic vinegar and oil all over. The only thing she said was she was sorry! The first time and last time at the cheese board.

Large menu with healthy selections. The fruit is always fresh. I recommend ordering in advance if getting take putt as the wait can be long around lunch.

Prices are high but worth it for the quality. The staff is amazing, if you walk in and it's bust, that alone tells you that they are very high quality and a gourmet restaurant. They don't run like a typical restaurant but I love that unique aspect. They have a small market inside with a lot of items to choose from considering its size. The food is just amazing! We eat here a lot! At least the last approx 23 years. The quality has never changed, they never chose lower quality to make more money and I admire that a lot. I'm happy that they've chosen to stay as a single location. I think additional locations would hurt them and the quality. Absolutely love: shrimp salad, Vermont cheddar, fruit & cheese platter, prosciutto sandwich, and overall selection. Must try!
