I highly recommend The Cheese Course for any occasion—whether it’s a company event, a personal gathering, or simply dining at the restaurant. I have been ordering from them regularly for company events, and the experience has been nothing short of exceptional. A special shoutout to Maria, the catering manager, who is an absolute pleasure to work with. She makes the entire process so easy and enjoyable, and her professionalism and friendliness make every order seamless. The food is always delivered on time, the quality is outstanding, and the flavors are simply delicious. If you’re looking for a place that offers excellent service and top-notch food, look no further. Thank you, Maria, and the entire team at The Cheese Course, for consistently providing such a wonderful experience!

The location is perfect, quiet and delicious! It was slightly out of our price range (only dock to the number of stars) but expected for the area. The staff was super friendly and made for a PERFECT date night!

Absolutely out of this world! Hey there, my friend 🤗 Yes, YOU! The awesome individual perusing this review. Let me tell you what you should do - order the Tomato 🍅 Bisque soup 🍜 & The cheese 🧀 melt with Sun Dried Tomato sandwich. And here's a little tip, dip that sandwich in the soup & get ready to be transported to a whole new world of deliciousness! I genuinely mean it, I would travel across the country just to come back here. It was TRULY!! That amazing! Maria, our server, was top-notch 👍. Make sure to add this to your list of places to visit when in the FLL area. Oh and if your sweet tooth tends to creep up at the end of your indulgence, tell maria to hook you up with that warm Chocolate Chip Brownie and Hazelnut ice cream desert 👌

My friend and I had the pleasure of discovering The Cheese Course, a charming european-style bistro that has stolen our hearts. The culinary experience was exceptional, with standout dishes including the Truffle and Parmesan Fries was delicious. The Short Rib Sandwich was a highlight, featuring tender meat, crispy bread, and melted cheese. The house red wine was a perfect pairing, offering a smooth, fruity flavor with subtle complexity. The Creme Brulee was a sublime finale, boasting a creamy texture and perfectly caramelized sugar. Attentive, knowledgeable service completed the experience. We highly recommend The Cheese Course to any one who appreciates fine European cuisine. We will definitely return!

Amazing Happy Hour menu, great selection of wines and cheeses at unbeatable prices, a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We'll definitely return!

They tricked customers with their daily lunch special with soup and half sandwich. The price is here super expensive for the size of the foods. Amal is working hard but the restaurant management does not know anything about hospitality. I hope she find another place to work in more fair environment. We returned the Belgium Chocolate Desert because of the amount of chocolate. You can watch the video and see the bill. I opened google maps to write a review and see their score is 3,9. I understand now. If I could check before I came, I was never gonna eat. Be careful. Price performance is under the average.

Google
This place is not clean! Dust on surfaces, with insect droppings, too. Lots of fake flowers also covered in dust as well as light fixtures. I wonder about the condition of the kitchen as everyone is just standing around back there. $40 for 2 beers and 2 soup/sandwich combos. My Serrano ham sandwich (2” at widest x 6”) had one slice of ham. One slice in an $11 sandwich. Person taking the order didn’t hear our second beer order so we had to get that addressed. Staff is just standing around. The concept is good, but the service and unclean environment make this a one and done spot. Don’t waste your time or money. No one cares, here.

Google
Stop by for a quick bite or good happy hour wine prices. I enjoyed the atmosphere and ordered the small chicken cesar. The salad was good and the dressing was thick and tasty and I do noy like a lot of dressing so that portion cup was good size. I did not like the salad presentation in the high bowl. As the dressing came standard on the side and was thick, I had to slowly add the dressing while I ate the salad down in the bowl. You could not mix the dressing in the full salad and expect to have the dressing cover the salad below half way. As I woked through the salad I had to continually try and get the think dressing onto the salad. Nice spot for outside seatting and nice inside atmosphere. I will be back to try other menu items.

Yelp
A great option for happy hour. The atmosphere is very pleasant and charming. I chose from the happy hour menu "Meat plate" ($7.99) and "2 cheeses" ($13.99) and a glass of Pinot Noir. The two cheeses I chose were Fromager d'Affinoir (delicious, similar to a creamier Brie) and Prima Donna (a mix of provolone and Parmesan, with a stronger flavor). The service was fast but nothing special about it. Next time I visit, I want to try the ciabatta mortadella and pistachio sandwich, which looks very good.

Yelp
Amazing service good and experience. We found easy parking as they're located in a shopping center. We were seated immediately, Tuesday 3:30 pm, our server, Maria was super professional and kind. I had: the prosciutto sub: a favorite, I've tried other chews course locations but today was extremely fresh and full of flavor The mushroom and Brie soup: a must order. Perfect temperature and blend of flavors. My wife had the Serrano ham sub, she devoured it.

Yelp
First time at this Cheese Course located in the Fountains Plaza. We ordered the small tuna on a soft baguette which was served on a wooden cutting board with a side of kettle chips, which was a nice touch. They offered a complementary large glass bottle of water with small glasses which was very appreciated. The interior was bistro themed and had wrapped cheeses and salamis for sale in a crate as the centerpiece. An entire wall of wine bottles is offered for sale and is the common drink with cheese.

Yelp
A very cute place to go for lunch. Especially well, if you love cheese! I got the soup and salad combo and both were very tasty and full of flavor. Just a bit pricey but for fresh, good, food, it's worth it. The atmosphere is very much a cozy cafe vibe.

Yelp
Wine and cheese bistro of sorts in a strip mall?? Yes, the food and presentation are excellent. We were seated and given ample time to look at the menu, examine choices. The waitress took our orders. We had our food in short order. The atmosphere is relaxed, decor is what you expect in a bistro type cafe. We went at lunch but I'll be back to try their wine and cheese, the selections were tempting.

Yelp
Came for sporadically for lunch the other day. Haven't eaten at a cheese course in a while but it's never a bad choice. I ordered the #15 southwest chicken breast hot sandwich but with Gruyère cheese instead and my boyfriend got the #9 roast turkey breast cold sandwich. We also shared their truffle cheese fries. Our meals came with chips and the sandwiches were really good, even though mine came apart pretty easily. Fries were ok, I feel like the cheese needs to be melted more and fries felt a little dry overall. Inside is really beautifully decorated with a lovely hanging of pallets covered in draping flowers in the center and a whole wall made of wine bottles in boxes. Very nice place to stop in for a quick lunch in this busy plaza. Easy enough to find parking too.

Yelp
It's super cute inside and the food was mostly really good. The potato soup and the tomato soups were great! The butternut squash soup was ok. The chicken salad sandwich was really good, the cheddar melt was pretty good and the grilled cheese was not the best - no one wanted to eat it. Overall a cute place for brunch.

Yelp
I met my girlfriend here today for a quick lunch. It's been minute since my last time here, and it was still just as delicious! They changed their previous order at the register procedure to sit-down seating with a server, which I prefer. My girlfriend and I decided to split my go-to fave (chicken salad on a baguette), and we each had a cup of soup. I opted for the butternut squash soup. It was sooo good and presented beautifully. The Cheese Course is the quintessential spot for a meet your girlfriend to grab lunch kind of vibe. Great salads, sandwiches and cheese galore. Also, it's located in the Fountains which is super convenient to get some good shopping in after a yummy lunch.

Yelp
Enjoyed a delicious lunch at the cheese course in plantation. The tomato soup was tasty and the perfect temperature. The margarita pizza was so delicious.

Yelp
This is an update to my previous review I came back to give this place a second chance as I usually try to with my less than 5 star reviews. I'm truly glad I did. New manager, all new happy friendly and polite staff, same great food. So glad I came back. Take notice this is how it's done. If patrons notice there's lack of friendliness and common kindness people will walk away and go else where. So glad they listened because this place is a gem and now it's complete. I will definitely keep coming back. Decor inside is provincial chic outside is a cute Paris street cafe meets busy parking lot but good for people watching all the same.

Yelp
I have been going to cheese course since I was a teenager- I grew up in Weston. This weekend I was disappointed for the first time. They were out of all salads and so my sandwich did not have any greens in it. Also, the cheese was not fresh:/ I have been eating the same sandwich for years and so I know how it is supposed to taste and it just wasn't the same. The cheese cut was also way too thick, it made it awkward to eat. Unfortunately I won't be back at this location.
google avatar

Lisa L.

Yelp
My sandwich was amazing, however for $15, it should have been double the size. It was no more than 4" long!
google avatar

Yelp
I couldn't have had better on the Champs-Élysées. It was fantastic. The smoked salmon croissant with artisan cheese spread paired with a cabernet was a perfectly light afternoon meal.
google avatar

Yelp
Perfect outside seats, amazing service at the outside tables (many outside want people to order inside, pick up) the server Nixon, was attentive and listened well. We both got the potato soup. Awesome! I also got the BLT small sandwich. Avocado, thick perfect cooked bacon, went well with the soup. Will return again when in Davie.

Yelp
I have been to Cheese Course quite a few times for lunch. Yesterday my daughter and I suggested meeting my mom there for dinner. I checked their website and it said they were open to 7:30. Our plan was to meet at 6:30. My mother arrived exactly at 6:30 and called me because she said it looked like they were closing. We got there a few minutes later at 6:35 and all of the chairs were stacked in the restaurant; however the sign on the front door said they closed at 7:00. (Still 25 minutes away). We went to the counter and my daughter ordered a salad. The young girl at the counter said "it's to go right?" We said no; we wanted to dine there. We asked the girl why because the sign on the door said 7 o'clock and it was still 25 minutes away . All of a sudden, her response was "I no speak English!" What the hell? She spoke pretty good English a few minutes ago? She pointed us in the direction of another woman who was clearing the only table with in stacked chairs. We told her we were planning on dining inside and she said we couldn't because they close at 7:00. We pointed out that it was now 6:37; and all she kept saying is "we close at 7:00." I've been to many, many, many restaurants and they usually serve you as long as you arrive by closing time. And I couldn't believe the girl at the counter pretending she didn't speak any English and understand us! I mean how can she be taking orders and collecting payments if she doesn't speak any English????? Cheese Course needs to think carefully about who they're hiring and work on their customer service skills....plus I thought the point of having a restaurant business was to serve customers and actually make money.

Yelp
It had been years since our last visit to a Cheese course and although everything was ok, we were a little disappointed compared to my memory of this chain. Lunchtime traffic was surprisingly slow on a Saturday, given its location. There was plenty of seating inside and outside. Prices seem very high, value wise. My chicken salad was a little weird presentation...I thought the ingredients would be more chopped and mixed. My husband's sandwich was ok but the bread was cutting the roof his mouth do he wasn't thrilled. I would pass on this Cheese Course next time. They have very little cheese grocery to shop, compared to what I remembered and prices are too high for what you get.

Yelp
Made an amazing cheese and meat charcuterie for me on the fly. Some crustie bread, had a great time.

Yelp
I used to love the cheese course. I'm not sure if their meals got smaller or menu got more expensive. Or both. But it's no wonder they had to close many locations down in Miami. Honestly it was a bit expensive for half sandwich and half salad. Half salad was 15 bucks and a half sandwich was another 15 bucks. It tasted good but I was still hungry for a price of a huge meal anywhere else. I'm not ordering here Again. Sad bc I actually used to like this place. Could be too thag my job always paid back then and it was expensive and I didn't care then.

Leslie B.

Yelp
Outstanding experience at this location. The Short Rib Sandwich was fresh and juicy. The Mushroom Soup was creamy and full of flavor. Service was impeccable, attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is nice and cozy. A must-visit spot. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
This place always messes up my order. The food is also inconsistent. My dresssinf for example is never the same each time. Sometimes it's sweet sometimes it lemony and sometimes it straight up oil. I get the same salad each time why is the dressing always different ???? Especially at the price point they sell their food it's appalling. Also I would NOT recommended ordering Uber eats from them. They also always give me meal with missing items. For example sometimes they put peppers on my Greek salad sometimes not I guess it's whatever they feel that day

Yelp
This place really nice, excellent service and amazing food, simple menu with good selections.

Yelp
This place is the quintessential girl dinner spot. I love ordering the half sandwich with the Bree and mushroom soup. Overall, a pretty decent place if you want to do adult lunchables with your friends.

Yelp
I ordered food from Cheese Course through ezcatering, selected Plantation and somehow it got kicked to another store. The other store cancelled 2 hours before my event so I called the manager of Plantation, put him on 3 way with ezcatering and they made it work. The food was delicious, and from the time ezcatering switched my order to their store, the manager at Plantation took over and had the food ready (for about 40 people) in less than an hour. They then had it delivered to me in time for my event and it was perfect. I am eternally grateful for the fact that this store made my event a priority and went out of their way to make sure I had food to serve. Thank you a million times over.

Yelp
Worst cheese course experience I have ever had. Ordered a cheese fondue and a number of other things today. Ordered a cappuccino (dined in) got it in a plastic to go cup when there were clearly mugs there. Ordered a broccoli soup & was so cold I couldn't even eat it. Asked if they could heat it up somehow and it came back tasting different with pepper and spices in it. Ordered a cheese fondue. Not only did it take 25+ minutes. ALL of the "veggies" were cooked (never have they ever been cooked before) & they were OLD! Also, missing cauliflower, apples, grapes and the cornichons "pickles" So I asked if they could bring me what it is suppose to have, the tops of the broccoli not the stalks and more veggies they aren't cooked. 5 whole minutes later... They brought me back cooked broccoli and carrots. Severely disappointed in this lunch today and so we're my other lunch guests. The only "apology" that was given was they are changing the menu. FALSE. I have been there since then. This was a lack of attention by the kitchen and needs to be addressed. Waste of $80 (Which included a tip!) Maybe I'll stick to going to the Weston or pines location.

Yelp
Went to have lunch elsewhere but saw this gentleman sitting by the window with a sandwich. It looked SO delicious that we had to peek inside. They have a decent sized menu, which I love that it's not so overpowering, as well as a 1/2 soup/sandwich/salad. Ended up getting the Grilled Chicken Breast sandwich, which was Fontina cheese, tomatoes, basil pesto, roasted red onions on a white french baguette. Wooow! The flavors were so bold, such a simple meal but tasted great! I also tried their tomato bisque, crème Fraiche, seasoned with onions and a finished with basil. The soup was most definitely one the bestI'vee had. Creamy thick and wish the bowl was neverending. Want to come back to try their cheese courses. Really glad we ended up giving this place a chance.

Yelp
Thanks for the roach sandwich... and not answering the phone. Absolutely disgusting.
google avatar

Yelp
The short: If you are craving a soup and sandwich and don't care too much for Panera bread, then this is your spot. The long: I've seen this place for a while but have been put off from some of the Yelp reviews. However we were looking for something fast and decided to stop in on the way to Gyroville next door. I'm glad we did. We got the chicken pesto sandwich which came with tomatoes, greens, chicken, pesto, Fontana cheese, aioli and a side of chips. This sandwich was delicious! We also got a tomato bisque soup which was also very tasty. After we finished eating, I got a sweet tooth and grabbed one of their chocolate chip cookies which look to be made in house. It hit the sweet tooth spot. All in all, we really enjoyed the meal and will be coming back to try other items including their charcuterie. With good pricing and good service, it's hard not to want to come back.

Michele M.

Yelp
One star because that's the lowest. Used to love this place -they had a wide range of cheese, combos on the menu and real accompaniments like Marconi almonds and figs. Went in after not visiting for a while - menu still had 20 varieties but the case had 7. Staffer had not heard of Camembert and said all the cheeses but 1 were cow's milk - including the obvious chèvre in the case. It's a sandwich shop and a dull one at that. Damn shame.

Sara G.

Yelp
Heaven for cheese lovers!I love the quality of food and friendly service, I feel like I'm in Europe.

Yelp
Tasty food, fresh, good size portions, cozy ambiance, amicable and pleasant staff and decent prices considering everything has gone up.

Yelp
It's a nice place and the food was divine. I can't wait to go back! It's a good thing they have other locations available, making it easy to enjoy their delicious food.

Yelp
The food is always phenomenal and extremely fresh! It's a great little cafe vibe & their cheeses you can NEVER go wrong with selecting any!

Yelp
1/15/2018 - Great place for a fast casual lunch. We wanted to eat outdoors at a not so fancy place but stay close to the area. The Cheese Course was the perfect choice. We ordered a whole sandwich (warm), a salad, once cheese board and two glasses of wine. They had run out of the cheese we ordered so the young girl who took our order came outside and had us try a similar cheese instead. We did like it so that's what we went with. The portions were great, especially on the wine! The baguette on the cheese course was warm and soft, very fresh. Excellent place for a quick bite. We left there feeling full. FOR MANAGEMENT: as we placed our order with the young girl, not one but two co-workers came by and interrupted the order, without acknowledging us or the fact that she was taking care of us, just to give her a kiss on the cheek goodbye and the other hello. We just looked at each other confused.
google avatar

Alice M.

Yelp
I love the French salad here but the portion is so small. It's $25 for a super small salad and I had to add more lettuce. The flavors and ingredients are all amazingly mixed together. Although this time I had a hard tendon in one of the chicken tenderloins. Really good soup, super good bread just disappointing with this last order.
google avatar

Nicole C.

Yelp
Came here for a quick lunch bite on a Tuesday. I ordered the Prosciutto Sandwich and the Pumpkin Cupcake. I enjoyed both. I would have enjoyed the baguette a bit more if it were softer. I also tried the hummus sandwich which was the best.
google avatar

Erin M.

Yelp
Had an event tonight and needed a small charcuterie board and completely loved the amount food I received. I completely enjoyed the cheese and meats. Will be doing this again for nice wine nights with my friends.

Yelp
What's happening to the cheese course? It used to be so good but the quality is going down. My last visit was just a bad experience. Lights were almost off, looked like they were closed from the outside, service was way too slow and I consider myself a pretty patient person. My meal didn't taste fresh and my water had particles floating in it. Sorry to say but cheese course is now in my book of retired restaurants.
google avatar

Yelp
It was absolutely delicious!! I go to the one in Doral every week. I always get the same thing and I can't complain. The soup is a must have!!
google avatar

Yelp
Tha Yelp Daddy was really feelin' the vibe here!!! I love the location, I enjoy the decor and the ambiance is dope!!! The food, the coffee and the desserts are all so tasty...the bread is delicious! The staff was kind and accommodating...not sure why they only have 3 1/2 stars..somethin' goin' on!!! but Tha Yelp Daddy was pleased!!! **Note: Great spot for a 1st date, meet up with friends and co-workers! Tha Yelp Daddy had EGGS AND SPINACH sanchwich-which was great, some coffee and those tasty cupcakes...I had a great experience!!!
google avatar

Chauncey C.

Yelp
not sure how theyre still in business tbh. quality has significantly fallen off since opening years ago. prices are absurd for the portions you get and their baguettes are clearly frozen. most bland food you could put in your body. probably better off going anywhere else
google avatar

Gen E.

Yelp
It wasn't as good as I thought it would be. The soup was too salty. The area is nice and cool spot to hang out but overpriced.
google avatar

Cathy N.

Yelp
I used to love this place (when it originally opened in Weston) but have to give it 1 star because it's really gone down hill. Over the years, the prices have increased while the portions have decreased which I think is really crappy. If you raise prices, you've got to at least keep the same portion and quality... But what really sucks about this location in general is the staff. I've gone in now 3 times or so and am not greeted, nor given eye contact. The cashier is usually taking an online order or preparing coffee, which is fine. I don't mind waiting at all, but they never say hi or that they'll 'be with you in a minute' type thing, which I find very rude. I went in there and was the only person in the shop and there were 3 people in the kitchen standing around while the cashier took an order over the phone. No one said anything to me while she did that. Once she was done she went and talked to the manager and showed zero concern for the 1 customer standing there. I stood for about 10 minutes with no greeting or acknowledgement whatsoever and decided I didn't need to spend almost $20 on a sandwich and soup when they could have cared less that I was there. Again, I normally don't care about time, I'm not ever in a rush but just a "hey, we'll be with you in a second" would be appreciated. This has happened several times now so assume this is just how this particular location operates. Go to the location in Weston for better service and better portions etc.
google avatar

Celeste M.

Yelp
I always like the idea of The Cheese Course because their food is so artisanal. From my experience, their food seems to be quite fresh which would maybe explain why it takes so long to get their food. I've tried about 3 different locations and across the board their service takes a long time considering there's never more than a few people in the restaurant every time I go. Their food is pretty good. I recommend the hummus or the prosciutto and mozzarella sandwiches - both taste great. For soups, their tomato or golden Yukon potato are delicious. The Yukon potato is a little heavier, so if you want to go light go for the tomato soup. This time around I tried their mushroom Brie soup and it was ok. It tasted a lot more like mushroom than it did Brie and I wasn't really loving it. The Cheese Course is a refined lunch place that is a little pricier than your typical soup and salad options. However, their food is satisfying and feels healthy to me. They also have some really nice cupcakes that are worth trying.
google avatar

VeeJay C.

Yelp
LOVE the prosciutto sandwich here. Quality is always good and service also very good. Also, despite this being predominantly a sandwich spot they have some of the BEST cappuccino/espresso. Why? Well they use Illy for one. They also use a legit espresso machine. For those people who really know and love their coffee, this a is a place that will deliver consistency. Is Illy the best ever? No, is way better than everything else you get in all the chains and probably better than most things you can buy in the grocery store? For sure. Anyway, back to the sammies, fresh delicious and somewhat "high end" ingredients mixed with great flavor combinations results in one of my favorite early lunch spots. I really fo like this place. Only issue? need more locations!!!
google avatar

Christian D.

Yelp
I can deal with bad food if there is good service. I cannot deal with decent food and bad service. Stopped here for lunch with the GF. We ordered a grilled chicken sandwich on wheat, a tuna melt on white, a field greens salad, and a drink. Sounds simple right? Well what we got was: grilled chicken sandwich on white and the salad. When we tried to tell them that we ordered a second sandwich, they actually told us "no you didn't." YES WE DID! We both spoke when we ordered! Why would you say that to a customer? How about, I must have missed that or something of the like but no, they blamed everything but themselves. Even got the excuse that it is an Italian bistro, whatever that was supposed to mean in relation to the issues. So we PAID for another sandwich and when they brought it out, the young lady basically plopped it down on the table. R-U-D-E. The food is mediocre at best, and the prices are stupid ridiculous for sandwiches (please dont even with "gourmet" because you can get basically the same thing at Publix or Subway) but because of the crappy service, it gets ONE STAR and I will NEVER return.
google avatar

Leslie S.

Yelp
Pros: Been to a few cheese courses, this one met all expectations, clean, speedy, good service. I had the tuna melt with the potato soup and a glass of Pinot Noir. If you want a quick sandwich, this is a good place to rely on. Good fast food option. Cons: Sandwiches aren't spectacular, they have good quality ingredients, but it doesn't leave me day-dreaming of my next visit. Will go back when I want a quick lunch in the area.

Yelp
I've give up in the Weston cheese coarse. We were next store of the cheese Course at sprint so we decided I give them a shot. The food was ok, what else can you say about salads. Perhaps I'm getting old but I'm tired of going to businesses were the staff barely speaks English. The order taker was nice enough, but he mumbling and his English at best was poor. Another item they have cheese boards hanging as decorations, hanging low. I hit my head on one when I got up from the table. I'm tall but not that tall. I hope there liability insurance is paid in full. There off my list

Yelp
I've been coming to this Cheese Course for years and it's probably one of my favorite places to go for a quick casual lunch in the Plantation area. It's located in the Fountains plaza in an area where there are quite a few other restaurants and shops, so finding a close parking spot is rare. I usually end finding a spot behind the building. I love the Cheese Course because it's usually pretty quiet/relaxed, the service is quick, and it has a nice European bistro feel to it. They have outdoor seating, which is great to enjoy a bottle of wine and a cheese board on a nice day. Besides just cheese boards, the menu has a variety of sandwiches, salads, soups all featuring a different delicious cheese. They also have a large selection of specialty individual cheeses for sale. My favorite thing to order here is the pairing with a soup and half salad. On my recent visit here I ordered the mushroom and Brie soup, which is amazing, and the half portion of the Greek salad. The feta cheese on the Greek salad is to die for!
