I am generally a fan of The Cheesecake Factory but my latest visit was not quite up to par.
We arrived a little before 9pm on a Monday (restaurant closes at 10pm) as it was conveniently located next to AMC theatres. There was no wait and we were seated immediately. Our table was tucked away in a dark corner. The restaurant was pretty empty, with ~10 tables occupied (many were wrapping up their meals). Some of my silverware still looked dirty, but fortunately it was ones that I didn't need for my meal.
I'm definitely bummed that they were out of bread on our visit :(. Given that the bread is complimentary, I can't be too irked about it, but did you really go to The Cheesecake Factory if you didn't get the brown and white bread? After we placed our orders, our server notified us that they were currently out of bread, but it would be brought out when it was ready. When the entrees came out, we asked about the bread again. We were told that they would check again but the kitchen might've been done making more bread for the night (9:15pm). No word on the bread ever again, and no bread was ever brought out. I can only assume they decided to call it a night on the bread... but it would've been nice if the server closed the loop instead of just leaving us to wonder if the bread was ever coming.
Service was okay; we got our entrees in a reasonable amount of time (despite no bread service). We weren't verbally checked on until the plates were empty/it was clear that we were done eating, though one drink refill was brought without prompting.
My go-to order is the crusted chicken Romano. Overall, the dish was still solid and consistent with previous orderings, but some of the noodles were clumpy, if I'm going to nitpick. My friend ordered the herb-crusted salmon which comes with a lemon sauce, but that lemon sauce was more like a lemon spread because it was super gloppy.
The women's bathroom was unattended and kind of trashy. The paper towel trash bin was overflowing, and all of the stalls had loose toilet paper rolls laying about instead of being orderly attached. With the state of things, the restaurant probably should've just closed at 9pm.
At the end of the meal, we were presented with the check which has a QR code printed on the receipt to conveniently pay on your phone. Unfortunately, the receipt printing was shoddy (faint and streaky - not ideal for scanning a unique QR code), and the lighting in the restaurant was too dim to get a good scan anyways. This made this payment method ineffective, so the server had to manually run our cards, but she was friendly about it. Just a note, their suggested gratuity amounts were based on the post-tax amount. The receipt also states that The State of Maryland requires a 9% alcohol sales tax be applied to all alcoholic beverages - just something to keep in mind if you plan to imbibe.
It wasn't a horrible experience, and I'll still likely return to this Cheesecake Factory, but there is some room for improvement.
