We went this week for my birthday and were seated at the chef’s counter. We chose the 5 course tasting menu and were thoroughly happy with our choice. The staff (particularly Aryyne) were exceptional. Standouts were the Elk, tomato bisque and the pistachio cheesecake for dessert (which was covered by the restaurant). We had such a great experience that we went back the next night because we wanted to try a couple of the entrees. We went with the full elk entree and it was superb, along with the scallops. Again, an amazing place with great food and wonderful people.

I’ve been to several amazing places to eat…so far this is THE BEST! Seriously amazing food! Chefs are SO good! And the service was no doubt top notch! Shout out to Jess our server, and Chef Sara, who provided a memorable evening of THE BEST food and service you can get in Nashville!!!

This place is unbelievable. Matt's cooking class was so good that I stayed and tried the tasting menu, which blew me away. This has to be the best fine dining restaurant in Nashville! Jess took fantastic care of me, Zach made sure I had a new culinary creation to enjoy at all times, and Eric let me try a soup he was inventing that tasted exactly like a homemade tamale! 10 out of 10. Best fine dining restaurant in Nashville + You're allowed to wear shorts.

This place looked nice and I thought I would try their happy hour before I dip into large dinner meal. I ordered few cocktails and they were very good. Decided to try their CARAMELIZED CAULIFLOWER & GOAT CHEESE, the portion was small really but the taste and ingredients are perfect, it was tasty. Later I chose to try the HOUSE MADE TAQUITOS, they were supposed to be browned, it took very long to get them and when I started to eat I noticed that they were charred… I brought up to the bartender attention and he said he will let the kitchen know. No one bothered to come to exchange, I had to eat as I just wanted to leave. They didn’t even try to discount or replace. I understand it was happy hour special price but it actually made me just want to leave and not go back. I settled my bill and I even gave tip. The sad thing, it’s a nice restaurant and it wasn’t that busy. I think they care or less about their customers since it’s a tourist city. I am being nice to give this rating based on my experience.

10/10 food, atmosphere, and company. Chefs Zach, Eric, and Blake made this night unforgettable and we cannot wait to come back. Special thanks to Peter for helping us have such a wonderful time! Don’t be scared of the girl with funny pants that does valet, she’s a 10/10 driver lol

My husband surprised me for my birthday and took me to The Chef & I. Before we even walked in the valet let us know we were in for a treat! We sat at the Chef’s counter and ordered the 5 Course Tasting Menu and Wine Pairing. Interacting with Chef Blake, asking questions and just hanging out with him was so cool! His skill and passion for food came across through each course! There were things on the menu I never would have ordered like wild boar - delicious! They even surprised me with a delicious bday dessert on them! Next time we’re back in Nashville we’ll be back! Don’t miss out on this wonderfully delicious experience.

My husband and I came from Charlotte specifically to eat at The Chef and I. We were blown away by the amazing food and the attentive service. We indulged in the tasting menu at the Chef's table where we got to watch Chef Arynne and Chef Eric cook. What an incredible experience! Chef Arynne took the time to explain every dish, and each one was interesting and delicious. Sunday morning came and there was no discussion -- we were headed there for brunch! Thank you, Chef Arynne and Chef Eric. We WILL be back!!

We attended the French cooking class this afternoon and had such a great time. This made for a fabulous date night. We can for sure recreate this dish now at home, instructions were clear and concise and results were delicious. The chef was super helpful, staff very friendly. We stayed for dinner, had the lamb and pasta and both were superb. The creme brûlée was perfect. We went home full and happy. Thank you for an amazing and memorable night out.
