The Chicken Bar

This place has the best rotisserie chicken, hands down. The fried chicken sandwich was also incredibly good, and the coleslaw and fries were perfect. Loved the outdoor seating too, it’s right by a busy alley, so you can relax, eat great food, and people watch.

As their name states - get the chicken hahaha. I had the half chicken - delicious. Some of the other items at our table were very good as well. Their homemade fries are great too. Our waiter was very nice, but after we got our food, we were kindly of lost in the shuffle. We did have great seats by the front - watching the world pass by. In a sea of generic restaurants, this one stands out with rotisserie chicken. It is a solid choice - thanks.

Amazing! Definitely the best rotisserie chicken I have ever had, so tender, succulent and full of flavour, just perfect! We were a walk in and had absolutely no problem what so ever getting a table, even though it was busy. Staff really friendly and service great, not rushed at all. Definitely recommend a visit here.

Tasty chicken with quick service and a very American atmosphere. Service was good and the place was clean. Would be great if there were more beers on offer, but not a big deal.

Nice place, with some nice items on the menu. Was visiting Amsterdam and introduced by my nephew on an exchange there. Not so busy for dinner, could get seats for table of 8 on a Sun easily. Thank you.

The chicken was so juicy!! We were very satisfied with our lunch. The whole chicken with 2 sides filled my husband and I up perfectly with hardly anything left over.

This is a nice little (actually bigger than it looks from outside) place to take a break while shopping. We sat inside for some AC but there is also outdoor seating available. We were sat right away and had a couple of cold beers. We ordered the chicken breast sandwich which was really tasty. We also had the potatoes, which doesn't necessarily mean fries but they were also very good. The service was friendly, the order came out pretty quickly and didn't feel rushed as we relaxed a bit. Good reviews here for a reason, worth giving them a try.

We loved this restaurant! It's in the cutest little side street in Amsterdam. The 1/2 chicken was fall off the bones moist and delicious. I loved the onion rings as well. My husband had a chicken sandwich with tasty spices and good bread. The service was friendly and welcoming. It's also very nicely decorated. A "must eat there" restaurant in Amsterdam!

That was delicious. I had the half roast chicken. It was probably the moistest chicken breast I've ever had. Super juicy. Good flavor. The fries and sauces were just ok. Overall, really good chicken.

The Chicken Bar is a southern cuisine hidden gem located in Amsterdam. I found it prior to our trip, and was sure to make a reservation. We ordered the wings and chicken tacos for an appetizer. They were both delicious. However, so not plan to order the chicken tacos for a meal because the filling is limited and you will still be hungry. The three of us each ordered the half chicken for our entree. We tried a variety of sides such as coleslaw, corn on the cob, roasted veggies, and roasted potatoes. They were all delicious and the chicken was so juicy. So why am I not rating it 5 stars? Gnats we're flying around our table and the rest of the restaurant while we were eating (gross) and it took nearly 15 minutes for us to receive WATER after we ordered it. We were so thirsty. And they were not overwhelmingly busy. However, I would still love to eat here again.

Absolutely amazing and probably the best fried chicken I've had. Friend ordered the half chicken and it was delicious as well. Staff was very helpful. Make a reservation. Close to a lot of shops in central station.

I was going to post a picture but inhaled the Crispy Chicken Burger before I had a chance to take a picture. The chicken was very crispy and had a delicious sauce. Service was nice and attentive. It is a bit hidden but easy to get to.

The restaurant is really cute and has good dinner vibes. We got the starter wings, the half chicken, a side of fries and grilled vegetables. I love love loved the wings!! They were super super crispy and had really good flavor. I can't handle spice so I'm glad they weren't too spicy. The half chicken wasn't as good as expected. The sauce did make the chicken a little bit too salty and intense. The fries were really good too since they get it from their neighbors. I forgot the shop's name but it's a famous Dutch fries place. We also got a glass of rose and the old fashioned drinks. It's what you'd expect. Not too expensive for a filling and delicious meal!

We enjoyed our time at the chicken bar. The ambience is fun, our waiter was very nice, and we loved the different sides you could get with the chicken of your choice. Nice selection of alcoholic drinks as well. Our only dislike was that the door was open and the smell of cigarrette smoke wafting in covered up what used to be the yummy chicken smell :(

Was impressed with this restaurant that we went twice. The chicken is juicy well cooked and incredibly flavorful. The service is great as well. Nothing to complain about it. If you are in Amsterdam and want rotisserie chicken this is your place.

The best chicken I've had in a while. I ordered the 1/2 chicken and the meat was so moist and tasty. It was seasoned to perfection and the fries in Amsterdam are delicious. I ordered a dark and stormy to go with my meal and it was the perfect blend for it. I will definitely go back again before I leave Amster

oh my god!!!! so delicious! i got the chicken tenders and thet where so good and so not like american chicken tenders, probably better, they don't feel as fattening and are light, they also came with a good sauce and that made them tender times better! but the drinks are very expensive... but so good.

Chicken falls off the bone! So good! It's a little warm inside the restaurant because they're roasting the chicken but it's fine as you get used to it. It's also worth it because the food comes so fresh and hot. Servers were great and made helpful recommendations. Would definitely eat here again.

The chicken is tasty, if a tad overpriced. The fires were, sadly, nothing special. The service was friendly and the ambiance was exactly what I expected- a casual cafe vibe.

I really enjoyed the food here, and the owner is a great guy. I remember the first pasta he rolled, the perfect balance of texture, mouth feel, consistency, shape, and the way it felt in my mouth (girth.). But things took a turn for the worse in '09 (macro events), and the owner transitioned into the poultry business.... Fast forward to 3 nights ago when I'm sitting on my Javanese futon, watching the office (UK, season 2) reruns, and I get a sudden craving for wings & things. I order myself a spicy pulled chicken burger, a cornonthecob (check wikipedia), and a jacket potato to keep me warm. The food arrived on time, and the delivery driver - rakesh - might be coming over next weekend for rendang & rose night. But I was INCREDIBLY disappointed to say the least with the overall quality of the order. Gone was the amazing balance of texture, mouth feel, consistency, shape, and the way it felt in my mouth (girth.), replaced with stringy, grainy, fleshy, crumbly, misshapen, stringy chicken vibes. No amount of pickled onion could hide the ghastly chicken, I'm afraid. All in all, this is just another classic example of wasted potential. And for that reason, it's gonna be a "no" for me sadly. "Make eggs not war", more like "Don't eat here".

Wow. Simply wow. Mmmmmmmmm I know you want more than this, but really... that's all that matters. The chicken here is incredible. Perfectly cooked. Perfectly seasoned. Juicy and tender. Yummy. Chicken wings that are served like they should be. Crunchy and seasoned in a way that doesn't need a dip. Although the dip adds a spicy and sweet extra to the wings that are just delightful. Fried. Great. Corn soup was also wow. Thick and tasty. A hint of spice. Perfect. I have one complaint, and only one: I live so far away and won't be able to come back for a long time. I will say this, however, it is being saved in my "must come back" list so that when I'm back in Amsterdam... I'll be back here again for sure. Server was sweet and bubbly. It was a pleasure to order our food through her. She is so busy. Yikes. But somehow kept everything under control and everyone happy. I recommend this place highly. If you don't come here, you've lost out on a gem. A precious gem.

(Amster)DAMN Good Chicken! The only Words that can describe how much I enjoyed dinner tonight. Usually can't go wrong with rotisserie chicken but this place... has flavor explosion best rotisserie I've ever had. Thank you for the best (amster)DAMN meal I've had this entire trip! I will return!

We came to Amsterdam for our honeymoon. This place was not our a list of restaurants to try. BUT OMG ARE WE GLAD WE FOUND IT. Everything was soooo good. Juicy, flavorful half chicken, delicious tangy wings, and the chicken burger was the best chicken sandwich (we're from the states) we've ever had. 10/10 would recommend. #foodcoma

The Chicken Bar is wonderful! We had the fries, chicken wings, the chicken burger, and half a rotisserie chicken. It was so much food and so delicious. The sauce with the wings was tangy and great, the burger had crispy chicken and a nice mustard-y sauce. The rotisserie chicken, served on its own without anything to disguise it, demonstrates just how well they serve chicken. We made a reservation but when we went at 6 there was no wait anyway. Lovely space, excellent service. Best food in Amsterdam so far

Me and my boyfriend got the corn soup, chicken wings, and a full chicken with wings and wow!!! It was all amazing!!! We have nothing bad to say about this place. Friendly staff and great tasting food.

THE BEST CHICKEN WE HAVE EVER EATEN!! their fries were better than anything I have ever eaten in America, and the service was above and beyond. the waiter checked on us continuously, and when we realized half a chicken wasn't enough, he brought out another half in less than half a minute!! best place to eat in amsterdam!

the chicken was great, the experience as a whole was asinine. our waitress decided it would be in our best interest to wait over an hour in between checking on us and then proceeded to act like nothing happened. i would've rather been told to f**k off and get out than to have sat there in purgatory for an hour waiting for a rotisserie chicken and the blandest fries this continent has to offer.

We ordered half a chicken with the corn on the cob on the side, chicken wings, corn soup, and it was well worth it. The chicken was moist and there was butter on the corn. The side came with two corn on the cobs and the soup was not too dense. Our waiter was very friendly and frequently came to the table to ask us if everything was fine. She was also helpful when recommending some alcoholic drinks for my friends.
