Actually forgot to review the hotel from last visit... and going back in a few weeks! First of all, I would like to say that this facility is probably if not the cleanest and best ran hotels I've stayed at in years! No matter what you do, there are some people you just can't please- after reading through some of the reviews everyone complains about microwaves. I've stayed in many hotels that don't have microwaves. However, if a microwave is what's important to you then maybe you ought to read on to the amenities before you actually book The Room. If you book The room, don't forget your items especially the ones that are important to you! I doubt any of the staff is out to take your merchandise! Also, before attacking staff saying that they are creating fraud on your account, maybe realize we live in a world where fraud occurs all over the place- bet you a hundred bucks it was somewhere overseas! I also love the comment of the individual that was offered a different room yet they didn't want to change yet they wanted all their money back- go figure. So many self entitled cry babies! To be in the hospitality business is a customer service patience level that most people would not understand. I'm not paid for my review from this hotel, but I would never decline an upgrade ;-) Thanks again for the wonderful stay and look forward to seeing you all in a few more weeks!

Google
I had an incredible stay! The hotel, its location, and the entire staff—from the front desk and housekeeping to the restaurant team—were absolutely amazing. Everyone was welcoming, professional, and efficient. A special shoutout to Simone at the front desk, who truly embodies hospitality. She was incredibly friendly throughout our stay and went above and beyond by surprising us with a celebratory dessert for a birthday trip. It’s the little touches that make all the difference. Thank you, Team Chiefly—I can’t wait to return!

I have stayed at The Chifley in Houston more than once, and the reason I keep coming back is simple. The customer service is on another level. It does not matter who you are or what brings you through those doors, the staff treats everyone with genuine care. Not the forced scripted kind… the real kind. One week they were filming a whole movie at the hotel. Cameras everywhere, people running around, and the staff still made sure every guest felt seen and taken care of. That told me everything. These folks care about quality over status. They show up because they take pride in how they represent the hotel. Another thing I love is the work section in the room. I travel for business, so having a comfortable space where I can actually sit down, plug in, and get things done makes a big difference. It is quiet, functional, and makes the stay feel even more worth it. I stay at other Hiltons and honestly I cannot say the same. The Chifley consistently goes above and beyond in a way that feels sincere and steady. Is it perfect? Maybe not. But the service is top notch, warm, and dependable. Would I stay again? Absolutely. Would I recommend it? Without hesitation. The Chifley has earned my loyalty stay after stay.

Google
All of the staff are incredibly kind. My room was pristinely clean. I really appreciated the body wash and shampoo, lovely scent and so much better than the typical disposable bar soaps! The parking is extremely expensive however since this was a work trip I wasn’t too worried. I would stay here outside of work if not for the exorbitant parking fees, everything else I feel is fair for the quality!

Google
This hotel is nice and clean. You have to keep in mind that it's old so the rooms have a very small feel to them because the ceilings are lower than the newer hotels. But everything is updated and the remodeling was done right. Lots of little extra details. The coffee in the room was great as well! The issue I had was with the beds. There were two queen size beds in our room and they were awful. Felt like they were 20 years old. Just springs... I don't understand why they chose to cut corners here. But they did.

Google
I honestly don’t understand how this hotel qualifies as part of Hilton’s Tapestry Collection. My stay for an on-site conference was riddled with issues that made it far from “luxury”: Noise Nightmare: Rooms facing 610 are unbearably loud—day and night. If you’re a light sleeper, forget about getting any rest. Basic Amenities Missing: Instead of simple hand soap, the hotel uses heavily scented body wash dispensers in rooms and common are bathrooms. The smell is overpowering and unpleasant. How hard is it to provide standard soap? Maintenance Failures: Reported a toilet that wouldn’t flush properly on day one. Followed up the next day. Still broken. Gave up asking. Sulfur/Gas Odor: Other guests complained about a strong sulfur/gas-like smell in rooms—bad enough to wake people up. The hotel’s response? “It’s safe, but we don’t know what it is.” That’s unacceptable. Safety isn’t the only concern—comfort matters. Find the source and fix it. Overall: This property is nowhere near a 4-star experience. It needs a serious operational overhaul before it can live up to Hilton’s branding. Would I stay here again? Absolutely not.

Google
Beautiful boutique hotel. Kind and attentive staff. The rooms were spacious and the location was perfect. Lots of shopping and eateries nearby. I would highly recommend. Exceeded my expectations

Google
Horible checkin experience. Room i have checked into was not accetable due to tons of plastic decorations in it. It was supposed to be special, but not if you have allergies. As a compensation I was offered a Corner Room except the key I was given was to room facing a highway next to the elevator. Noise level in the room due to the highway was excessive. On the second day I was offered to make things right but decided not to move rooms as it would require a repacking. Hotel does not have any management present on premises. The hotel manager quit and front office manager wasn't there for a couple of days. Bar / restaurant is nice and staff there is extremely pleasant and helpful. Overall it was an OK place to stay. Very noisy location though.

Vlado B.

Yelp
Brand new rooms, noisy due to the hotel facing 610 highway. Bad front desk clerk who is also a Front Manager. Rooms Overpriced for what they actually are. I booked ans chwckwd in via app into a room facing a quiet side, but neve got it due to hotel's issues. Stay away from this one.

Yelp
Well it's a nice property, like an upscale version of Embassy Suites (at least they provide free breakfast; not here) and they have ample self parking garage ($29 a night) behind the hotel. It's good location as the Galleria is literally one or two blocks away. The rooms are also nicely decorated with lots of power outlets and great water pressure. However,if your room is facing the 610 freeway, please bring your earplugs! Holy cow it's loud. I wasn't prepared and used my phones white noise app, but it really didn't help much. Asked front desk and they said no earplugs here. Sigh. Their restaurant Rouse was nice and ate breakfast here every morning, the food itself was fantastic (best bacon!), but $28 for breakfast buffet with no option to get fresh cooked eggs to order was a letdown. Oh, they also add automatic service charge too. Their tinsel town setup is looking great though. The bar was crowded both nights and had a decent vibe going. Next time, I'm going to ask to be placed in a room away from the highway or go to another Hilton property down the street. Slept like a baby when I got home (no street noise).

Yelp
Beautiful hotel with great rooms. Everything was extremely clean and nicely decorated, especially the rooms. Staff was polite and attentive. There's a QR code in the rooms that allows you to order room service but it doesn't work and when you try to call to order, the phone just went silent. Other than that, great stay at the hotel.

Yelp
It's a nice hotel smack across a high end mall!! The rooms are nice and spacious! Ohhh and the water pressure in the shower?!? Say no more!! Worth every penny staying here

Yelp
I like this place. I really do. I've stayed here a few times. Close to downtown. Right off the highway. Plenty to do and dine in the area. The bar and restaurant are quite stellar. No major complaints. Have never needed to park there, so I can't comment about that. Rooms are aesthetically pleasing; not large suites...still very comfortable for 2 adults. The last time there was leftover food in the fridge from The previous guest. Also, housekeeping left a large green balloon in our room after cleaning. Was there some sort of party? Most importantly, why was yours truly not invited? The last night of our stay, there was no hot water, so after a night on the town, I had to go to bed musty. The ac was unable to be turned down to anything under 75, so I sweated like a pig the entire night....i guess it didn't matter...I was already salty (literally) by then.... I don't mean to sound rude or crude but the Chifley really lost some cool points with me during this last stay! The only thing offered was an insincere apology by the front desk clerk. Anywho, I still love you, but yall need to get it together.

Yelp
Room and hotel itself inside is surprisingly nice than expected. It's a renovated former hotel. Exception of the restroom doors. They are sliding so you can hear all unromantic side of you are sharing a room. we had to call engineer to fix the water pressure to balance the temperature. And no upgrades for diamond members not even a view. I let the front desk know the security for the elevators is broken but from reviews sounds like they do not care since it's almost half a year since the other guests reported it. Parking is 29tx and valet is 39tx. If you are handicap you will be outside the gate and have no security and still be charged. Disappointed with breakfast. We had $30 dollars credit for being a diamond member. 5 pastry will be $34 dollars. I only got pastry cause there was NO actual to go breakfast and only dine in buffet and you can't get that to go. half or none of the nice grab and go options are available. I let front desk judy know and she's like let the restaurant know? Know what? Something they already know? seems like acting manager since she intervened my conversation w front desk, but didn't care to resolve any issues and Just push problems away so I didn't even bother telling her my guest experience any further.

Yelp
Located close to the galleria, I was here for 4 days for a conference nearby. I appreciate the private parking garage attached to the hotel. Very easy in and out w heavy houston traffic. Stay were very welcoming and it was a beautiful space. My room was wonderful! I appreciate that the "living space" has a door for the bedroom and bathroom so both can be accessed without disturbing someone sleeping. I could not adjust the thermostat in the room but it stayed cool enough at 70, I would prefer colder but it wasn't a big deal. The bar was a great spot to check out and on Wednesday they had live music. Overall would absolutely stay here again. The room felt very warm and inviting and I loved the decor. Despite being next to a major highway I heard no noise in the room.

Yelp
A typical business hotel with typical amenities and subpar food. The Good... The one bedroom suite was clean, spacious and comfortable . Many restaurants and shopping opportunities were easily walkable. The hotel had several EV charging stations. The Bad... 'City view' means 'highway view' and even on the higher floors the traffic noise was constant. The other side of the hotel had ugly views of a parking deck and store roof tops. Plus, the hotel charges a ridiculous $35ish / night parking fee. The restaurant served generic food, but frankly nobody needs to eat there because there's many good restaurants nearby,

Yelp
ZERO Stars. Horrible experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Manager is absolutely horrible and a horrible human being. Only stay there if you want to stay somewhere where they treat women and moms of babies horribly. This experience happened to me last year, June 2024 and it still makes me furious for any mom!!!! The manager- 110% rude to women. There was a mix up with our reservation due to the storm. His staff never asked for the name the reservation was under- just said we didn't have one which was proven incorrect. Instead of saying- sorry we should have asked for the name and educating the staff, he told me "You don't have a reservation get off my property!". I'm holding my baby, literally trying to help him get my reservation. Once they located it, due to their error, zero apology. Tried to suck up to my husband like he didn't just SCREAM at a mom and her baby. I have NEVER ever been to such a horrible manager run hotel. The staff isn't trained and the manager is Absolutely Horrible!!!!!! If you are a woman, a mom, please save yourself and do not stay there. I am still baffled by this experience. Never ever have I been yelled at a hotel, told to "get off my property", when I had a reservation. I have never been yelled at any other hotel period. Horrible manager!!!!!!!

Yelp
I can finally say I found a hotel that I will frequent in the Galleria area when visiting Houston. This hotel is renovated, yes, but it was very nicely done for the most part. I do not allow hotel lobbies to persuade me in thinking that a hotel is nice throughout, because for the most part most lobbies are nice and presentable; however the rooms are definitely up to par. My room was roomy, clean and the bedding was comfortable. And major shout out for not having tub/shower combos....at least in my room. Hall-le-lu!! My only cons would be the elevator's are definitely outdated and would make you think that you're riding up to a very outdated room-- I was nervous on the way up. The parking on the first level is weird because you're forced to walk down the ramp to access the hotel (no elevator near) and I don't like the mandatory 20% charge they apply on anything that is purchased in the restaurant. Remove that please! Overall though, I was pleased and I'd definitely stay again. Staff was nice, the rooms were roomy, and the location is perfect.

Yelp
I wanted to love this place. It's conveniently located in the Galleria area close to anything you can think of. The customer service was really good. The hotel smells WONDERFUL and is REALLY CLEAN. If you are sensitive to smells, you won't be able to stay here. Thischotel is also VERY PRETTY inside...BUT THE BEDS ARE FROM PRISON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now if you love a hard bed, you will love this place. If sleep is important to you, I suggest staying at the Marriott Galleria. It's smack dab in the heart of the Galleria. The food was decent. I just expected a little bit more.

Yelp
This Place is the only Hilton I've ever stayed in that false advertised. Same place you see they have a pool and free WiFi and pets are welcome it says they have "paid private parking.street parking & valet parking. But they only offer valet and self parking. Over a $30 charge. No biggie what's $30? This place doesn't have one microwave in the entire building. I know that sounds like a minor gripe but i promise you it's not after midnight when you want to warm your leftover from the night before up. Last and final i actually tried to order from the restaurant in house. Get this they offer salmon with fried rice nothing fancy right? There happened to be a lady at the bar that ordered it after talking to her my mind was made up. The bartender quickly let me know that was all the fried rice the kitchen had. It was 9:30. Not even late. I'm a Hilton member I've stayed in dozens of dozens of hotels nationwide and this is by far the worst Hilton per dollar. Not to mention room the customer service at the front desk is sorely lacking.

Yelp
This review is my experience with the Group Sales Manager in coordinating a Room Block for my wedding guests. Mr. Bishop was responsive, patient, and thorough during that process. Although, my fiancé and I chose a different hotel for guests. We plan to book a room in the future. Thanks
google avatar

Krystal K.

Yelp
Wow this is not the same hotel we stayed at when they first opened. I'm pretty sure it's due to the staff change and the fact we were some of the first guests that ever stayed in the new rooms so PR was making sure everyone was happy. This time, a few years later, as our home is being renovated to become a rental and our new home was being finished, we had to stay a week, which I thought, great! We had just gotten back from Dallas, doing headshots for a Texas pageant, very exhausted and it sounded amazing. WRONG. Our room was across the hall from the worst group of girls I've ever seen.. not once or twice but several times to the point security and other guests came out of their room at 3am because of how very very drunk, loud, fighting and (not even 21) confirmed by an older man probably mid 40's, that looked like he was staying with them. (Very weird situation) they woke up our daughter twice, then had the audacity to ask if WE would like to move! Um, we aren't the problem, but you want the multiple time called on, where security already knows their room number of a ridiculous disturbance to not have to move? Not only that, but the front desk was unbelievably rude. Like to the point, I was on the phone with my husband, had our daughter, trying to find a certain floor and right next to the front desk where a woman was "working" and I'm asking my husband, look at her and she just looks up and back at the desk, so I said could you tell me? Since he was on speaker phone and she KNEW what I was looking for. They're so lazy. They do the bare minimum. We've been diamond members for 10 years. Which is very hard to get, especially at our age. So we make sure every year we have multiple "stay cations" multi country visits. We had just come back from Colombia, Peru and Mexico. We do our part so we expect the service to be a certain level when you have maintained and spent quite a bit of money to be at the highest status. The "manager" had some "I'm better than you attitude" and we still treated him with the upmost respect, but it seemed like he just wanted to be as rude and disrespectful as possible. Which he succeeded. I basically did the housekeepings job as we left. Which I didn't mind. I chose that. But the "manager" acted as if we were such horrible guests, when I don't think we left our room but a few times and had little to no interaction with them. The kitchen staff was great. They would hand pound my husband and so sweet. Not sure why front desk had a problem, sounds like they just hate their job and takes it out on the people who give them one, but this isn't the same place we stayed before and we won't ever be back. There's plenty of other hiltons in Houston for a staycation, but I promise it won't be this place again. (And just so yall know, you can look at my reviews and I RARELY write a negative one, I'm not the gripe about everything type) but this place DESERVED it.

Laurie L.

Yelp
The parking company you use is horrible. I parked for a meeting (about 1 1/2 hours) and the parking app still has me logged in 2 hours later. The desk person was supposed to call . I tried to call and the person they sent me to had a mail box that was full.

Yelp
I was surprised how LOUD the rain was against the poorly insulated windows. It sounded like hail on a tin roof. But the heavy curtains helped. The sheets were like like sleeping in burlap. I ended up turning my pillowcase inside out and that helped a little. But that goes to show you how worn and pilling they are. We had no idea it was going to be a buffet only breakfast so we slept in and when we went to eat at 9:20 (Sunday) it was nothing but inedible swill, runny eggs, stale kolaches, burnt potatoes, picked over fruit, etc. So my husband and I decided on yogurt. NO SPOONS AND NO BOWLS! So, we had to wait on someone to bring them. NOTHING to scoop out granola (etc.) from the little jars but it didn't matter because when I opened the jar, it was sticking to the sides and bottom of the the jar. I am appalled that this is a Hilton "Tapestry" property. I expect much better standards! We chosen this place because it was close to family but I will never stay here again. We rented two rooms (one for son) and we were ALL very disappointed. My husband is a pilot and stays in hotels 14 nights a month and even he said it was the worst he's seen. But he doesn't leave reviews. Everything I mentioned is an easy fix but apparently they are making little to no effort to improve. Maybe this review will help motivate them to make it nicer for future guests.

Yelp
This hotel exceeded expectations, I was in town for a week and stayed here, I love the room size and the lighting in the bathroom

Yelp
Amazing! The decor inside is gorgeous. Bed and pullout bed were so comfy, bathroom and overall layout were smart and efficient for my family of four. Great location, helpful staff, easy parking. The only thing left to be desired is a microwave. This will be our go to hotel when visiting.

Yelp
Good hotel, clean, would stay again. It did have a weird smell in the hallways but it wasn't bad just chemically for cleaning supplies

Yelp
Today would have been my second time staying at this hotel. However, when I arrived in Houston I was notified via email that my room was canceled. I called to find out what happen to my reservation on that I have had for months. I found out from a very rude assistant manager Mary that my reservation was moved to a Sheraton. However in my email it says it was canceled at 3pm. The reservation that was supposedly made at the Sheraton wasn't even for the same days so basically was left without a place to stay. Now I'm having to scramble to find a place to stay for the next two nights. My first stay was nice besides the staff were very condescending which I just brushed off as a one time thing but apparently it's all their staff especially when they are trained by the horrible rude manager. If the general manager reads this Mary deserves to be promptly counseled on customer service!

Yelp
I would like to say that the hotel in itself is great. I got a room last minute through hopper for me and my friends. We ordered a 2 queen room and they gave us a one bedroom. Their excuse was that hopper it was hopper's fault. Then this morning we ask guest services for a couple of bags for our dirty laundry and the person at the front desk didn't know how to help. We ended up getting laundry bags eventually from them. Then we go downstairs to get breakfast and they didn't want to seat us because "last call was at 10:45" and we got there at 10:48. When clearly the hours on the website show that they're open at 11am. I am ok with them having a last call but it would've been nice to have known that beforehand. Then, upon checkout, we were told that there was not a charge for valet parking on their system when they told us upon check in that it was gonna be charged from the security deposit. Overall it was an ok experience for a hotel that brands themselves as Hilton Tapestry collection. The communication within the staff is definitely not there and it looks that they are annoyed with every interaction with a customer. As a Hilton Honors member I definitely won't be coming back :)

Yelp
PROPERTY STOLEN FROM MY ROOM This property has a real problem with theft, security and customer service. I stayed at The Chifley Hotel 1/18-1/21 for a tennis tournament. I checked in Thursday evening, unpacked my bags and put my LV Never full in my empty suitcase, zipped it up and placed it in the corner of my bedroom. I left the next morning at 9:30am with my small crossbody bag for the courts and didn't return until 5:30pm. My room was cleaned at 1:31pm (according to the hotel) and when I went to get a pen out of my purse Friday evening I realized it was GONE. I IMMEDIATELY called the front desk to report the incident. The manager on duty didn't seem to be too concerned and He said they would ask the house keeping manager on Saturday. Well, long story short the housekeeper said she didn't take anything so they basically took her word. The GM asked me on Monday when I finally got a call back "are you sure I had the bag and if I look on the security cameras will I see you with the bag?" UNBELIEVABLE. Not only was I stolen from but now I'm a liar? WOW My bag was NOT visible, it was literally hidden inside a zipped suitcase. I've never experienced such unprofessionalism from a GM in my life. He was more concerned about me leaving a review through the Hilton email than he seemed about the obvious problem He has with staff at his hotel. And Yes, I had to file a police report. I DO NOT recommend this hotel. And don't let the signs in the elevators fool you into feeling safe "Must have key to access all floors"... management told me that's just a deterrent. Geezzzz. And BTW... I am NOT that person that leaves reviews lightly (or ever); normally too busy to bother BUT... I really feel like people need to know what's going on at this property and their management really needs to take notice.

Yelp
TERRIBLE! I stayed at property July 20-24. Arriving the guest rep Deja was pleasant, they charged 300 bucks for incidentals, okay cool but what about when staff causes the incident?! I had several things taken from my room at first it was small things a choker, earrings then it was a Steve Madden bag and my Tom Ford prescription glasses. WTF! On Friday morning housekeeping knocked on the door and let them self in mind you I was staying until Monday . I had to stay up late Sunday night to speak with a manager who told me the investigation on my items would last about two weeks. One of my roomies called Monday to speak with hotel manager who stated within a 12 hour span the investigation was conducted and closed because the house keeper said she didn't take it, okay did you expect her to say yes ? I called up there because I was never notified of the findings and that night I also called the police. I will be taking this matter to the furthest extent possible, it is no longer just about my items but the horrible customer service as well!

Erica J.

Yelp
Great view, Nice decor, Convenient location, the staff was nice and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
I checked into your Tapestry Hotel on West Loop in Houston Texas. When I checked in I told the front desk it was hot in the room 711. At that time I was told someone would be right up. No one came. When I got off of work that night I complained about the heat and the toilet being broken. They sent someone up and he changes the fuse and supposably fixed the toilet and they compensated one night for the inconvenience. The next day when I got off of work AGAIN the a/c was NOT fixed it was still hot and the toilet was still running. I went down stairs and let the front desk know again. The gentleman at the front desk around 11o'clock pm asked me if they had changed me rooms. I told him no they did not. and he said okay he would let the manager know. AT NO POINT did he asked to switch me rooms. Around 3 o'clock in the morning it was so hot in the room that I called downstairs and they sent some one up. He said "yep it looks broke" his exact words. he then said they can switch me rooms. I had to be at work at 7 am. I had to go downstairs get the keys and change rooms at 4 in the morning and again had to be at work at 7. This entire stay was miserable. I then called the general manager and JOHN. And if he wasn't the rudest jerk I had ever spoken with! he went back and forth and told me I was pretty much a liar. He had absolutely no empathy that this entire stay was a disaster! 1 night of compensation and changing me room in the middle of the nigh on my last day is not compensation for terrible customer service. Even you breakfast was terrible they charge you 21 dollars and are short staffed, don't greet nor speak to you, did not bring me silverware, or clean off the table, or bring you your drinks which is what is supposed to be included in the service.

Yelp
I worked for the Army and Air Force Lodging for 38 yrs. as a Director of Housekeeping along with other types of hotels in this field it's truly hard to check in a room and not inspect it. notice the A/C not working currently.bad smell called down to the office after dealing with the heat in my room, they sent the security guy up to check whether or not I was working the unit currently, Really, hair in the bathroom, wood chips under the small table, cabinet door broken. the guy downstairs was very unprofessional no empathy at all questioning what I was told my his security/ maintenance man, after an hour moved us into another room, 0650 which went from a double to a king waited approximately 10 to 15 minutes to call front desk,to ask if the AC was working I noticed this once I entered the room, trying to allow us to get acclimated for me to remind him it's it's a king and my daughter and I is going to have to share one bed, for him to complete my sentence by saying I can get her her own room now please remember this is since 0550 this morning now it's 0706 and my property is in another room. And this is supposed to be a signature Hotel. won't come back here.

Yelp
I've stayed here four times and the hotel staff always helpful. The area has plenty things nearby. Rooms have separate space to watch TV or sit on sofa. Wish there was a microwave. The brunch is pricey but well worth it especially since no large crowds to deal with. Mimosas were good and waitress Frankie was great
