This was delicious and worth the price. This is not an inexpensive restaurant. You will need reservations during peak times. Plan ahead if you have a large party. I only saw one bathroom. The service is really good. I love the fact that the food was not too salty or sweet. You could really taste the food's natural flavor. Delicious, and I will budget to go again.

From being greeted at the entrance by Camilla all the way through our lunch, she was amazing. The limeade drinks she prepared for us were so delicious. Her description of our dishes was on point. The dishes were delicious and filling. Save some room for coffee and desserts. The passion mousse was amazing, and the flan and rice pudding were creamy. Thank you for a relaxing afternoon and lunch. 👍👍👍👍

I recently opted for pickup from The Chimney House via Toast Tab, and while the food itself was decent, the value for money was not quite there. The portion sizes were disappointingly small for the price. For instance, the bean counter was barely half-filled, and the rice portion was only about three bites worth, which seems rather meager. If you're considering The Chimney House, I'd recommend dining in rather than opting for takeout. The ambiance might make up for what the portions lack, potentially offering a more satisfying experience overall. A small 2oz side of sauce was $1.50. Attached are photos that illustrate the portion sizes I received, which hopefully will give you a clearer idea of what to expect if you choose takeout. It would be a nice spot for a happy hour; maybe one day they’ll implement it.

Stop here to grab dinner before the lion king play. The food was OK did not have much flavor. The flan was the best part!

We’ve been eating at this restaurant for several years and have always had a great experience the ceviche the muscles and the paella are perfect perfection

My husband and I came in around 4pm before a show at the Broward Center. Not one patron in the place but when we saw the hostess she asked if we had reservations. I said no. She then said "we'll if you sit inside, we will need this table at 5pm". We're they going to throw us out? Is she kidding? So rude!! 5pm rolls around and only 1 other group of people came in. No tables were reserved! We were wearing jeans, sneakers and tshirts and I guess we looked like we weren't rich so she treated us poorly. The food was good but not good enough to warrant that sort of treatment and profiling. Also this place was a tiny house before becoming a restaurant, no glitz or glamor so they need to get off their high horse. We won't be back.

Chimney House is one of my favorite spots! The food is always great, with daily specials that keep it fresh. Mari is amazing and makes you feel right at home, and Yeni is just as wonderful. Great food, great people, great vibes!

Google
Hidden Gem, we felt welcomed. Service was absolutely amazing! The food was delicious as well, I'll be honest, I had the churroso steak with rice and beans. The steak alone was very tender, but unfortunately, there was no seasoning on it. It was bland until I poured their homemade hotsauce on it. I was WOW'd by the delicious taste. They need to sell that hotsauce in a bottle! It was tasty and more on the mild side of heat. They offered to take it back and have me get something else, but after the hotsauce, I ate it all. The white rice and black beans were very flavorful, and I really enjoyed them. My partner had salmon, yellow rice, and vegetables. He loved it! The sauce on the salmon, he stated, was delicious! The vegetables were nice and big, and the rice was tasty. We ate it all! We'll definitely be back! Oh, and the Flan!!! It's soooo good! Make sure to get dessert!! Give them a try! We almost forgot to take photos. We had already started preparing to eat. Lol presentation was much better than the pictures I've provided.

Yelp
Delicious Peruvian food in a hide away location crowded with lots of noise and happy neighborhood people. It was Ft . Lauderdales Version of cheers. Food was prepared to order and serve red quickly. Fish was caught fresh and salad was large and picked from a local garden. Camilla was very thorough with our order. My favorite was plantains and white sangria. SUPPORT LOCAL "A MUST TRY"

Yelp
I've eaten here a few times and the food has always been average. Service has always been good. The restaurant has always been clean with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. This time around I ordered a salad and it was average. I believe there could've been a lot more lettuce and arugula for the portion price. I added chicken as a protein and it wasn't that well seasoned. There's parking across the street and it's free. This place gets packed around lunch so definitely recommend getting there a bit early.

Yelp
The location is nice, love the outside seating option. Sat outside on a lovely evening at 8pm restaurant closes at 10:30. Our waiter was very nice and helpful service was great. The food was delicious. Everything we ordered was flavorful. The beans so good. Everything was made to order and fresh it seemed and was good.

Yelp
I still like Chimney House, but this last visit was about off. Our server was ok enough, but she disappeared and never came back. Some guy took over. I got Lomo Saltado and it just wasn't as good as the fish I got last time. The desserts were really yummy though. We got brownie with ice cream, flan, and rice pudding. All great. I'd return next time I'm downtown.

Yelp
The Chimney House sits where West Las Olas Boulevard meets South Avenue of the Arts behind the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. There is a free parking lot across from the restaurant for patrons and they are allowed to leave their cars there while they attend events at the Broward Center. My husband, two friends, and I dined there before a performance but our show was at the Parker Playhouse a few miles away, so we didn't get to take advantage of the free parking (but it is a nice perk). We had the empanadas appetizer and the fish ceviche. The empanadas were good and the ceviche was almost perfect. It was soaked well in the lime juice and melted in my mouth but the serving was skimpy for two people and we would have loved more. At our table we had the salmon, the lechon asado, the churassco, and the pollo saltado. All were good but nothing stood out as stellar. You can dine outside or inside at the restaurant and the atmosphere and service are the best parts about eating here. (Shout-out to our server Maria.) Combined with the complimentary parking, it's worth checking out The Chimney House if you are heading to the Broward Center. Dinner for 4 with 2 alcoholic beverages, 2 appetizers, four entrees, tax, and tip was a tad more than $200.

Yelp
This restaurant edges the Sailboat Bend subdivision and across the street from Himmarshee Street and West Las Olas. This old 1924 circa house was renovated into a latin fusion restaurant - bar. We entered and sat at the small bar and met with the server Maria who was bubbly and informative. We ordered the baked beef and chicken empanadas for $11.00 which was ready in ten minutes. We dipped them into the homemade sauce - OMG what a treat. The crust was thin and flaky, the meat was tender and had a mediterranean taste that was enhanced by the sauce - ingredients as follows: Peruvian chili peppers, onions, vinegar, and lime. The empanadas were so tasty we ordered two more beef and a side of the homemade sauce togo. Other employees were also friendly and the faint sound of music was playing while we dined in addition to WWE women's wrestling displayed on the monitor. The bathroom was clean with modern brown ceramic floor and wall tiles.

Yelp
Such a cute little place. Came in for a drink early Wednesday afternoon and had a seat at the bar. Every staff member i encountered was very nice and friendly. Music was great, a Lana del Ray type vibe. Had an IPA And a whiskey diet, both good. Also had the guacamole with plantain chips and chicarron, fantastic. Would love to sit outside on the patio next time. I'll be back!

Yelp
What a cute place to eat dinner before going to the Theatre! The service was great and they were super attentive, the food was tasty and delicious. It's a mix of Peruvian and Spanish I believe, but everything was wonderful. They have a pre-fixed menu if you have tickets for a show, which is sweet. It's $45 per person and comes with a 3 course meal. Would definitely be back! They also allow a $15 parking fee if you want to leave your car and walk over to the Theatre, which is convenient.

Ivette A.

Yelp
Thank you Camila as always your service was awesome. Great food, atmosphere and cleanliness.

Yelp
This was not our first time here, arrived to find out that they are now charging $15 to park in their private lot which was collected by a rude woman at the door after already having parked. The ARROZ MARINERO I ordered and was looking forward to was cold, and there was no octopus as supposed to be on the menu in the dish, the calamari was overcooked and chewy.
google avatar

Eileen P.

Yelp
We've been here a few times before or after the theater. If you go before the theater you can park in their lot across the street & keep it there through the show. There is a charge for parking but it costs the same as parking in the parking garage. The restaurant is cute, and the food is good. We've always had friendly service there as well.

Yelp
I went here after seeing the Miami City Ballet at the Broward Center. It's an easy walk and if there's a lot of people parked at the theatres garage for a show this is a way to skip the exodus traffic of people leaving the theater garage and then come back a couple hours later with no traffic. I started with the Chimney House salad and then the Peruvian Jalea. I also got a nice limeade and finished it off with a flan. Everything was really good and the servers were pleasant. I decided to eat outside and I felt very comfortable. The check came in a hollowed out book which was interesting. Bathroom was clean and tidy. Highly recommend and I will be back!:)

Yelp
Interesting experience but the food was good. We were seeing a show at the broward center and so I opted to make a reservation at chimney house. The only way to make a reservation is to call or to submit a request on their website. I called, all was well even with not confirmation the day prior from restaurant. The day came, we were sat right away. Service started out really attentive but then after we ordered I truly don't know where our waitress went. Never saw her again and someone else closed us out. I'm glad we went as it's super convenient to the broward center is literally steps away. But the service was below par for such a well known establishment. Again food was great service just was really terrible. Many around us were complaining too. Great outdoor seating but they need more staff.

Yelp
Cool location close but not too close to rowdy night bar scene. Close to river walk on busy street in old historic renovated house. Now very modern looking and clean with inside and outside tables. Very welcoming wait staff. Fair selection of beers and cocktails. Cream fish soup first class and the pork dish also what you may expect. Flan cut off larger mother flan and was really good. Second time visiting and if in the area or just getting off Brightline would try again.

Yelp
First time here, saw on tv show, Check Please. Near Los Olas no problem parking or getting a lovely table out side. Awesome service from some lovely ladies! Received water right away and we order half of white sangria, delicious. I ordered the multi fish in a cream soup w rice, so good! And husband had the pork chop with mashed potatoes and mushrooms, very yummy. Too full for dessert! I highly recommend!!! Totally enjoyable and met some nice people dining as well.

Yelp
We had a lovely dinner at the Chimney House. The menu is mainly upscale Latin with a variety of meal choices that are full of wonderful flavors. We had 6:pm reservations and were seated right away at a small table looking over the sidewalk. There was mostly outdoor seating as the inside is very small but it looked very nice, like a small old house. The restaurant itself was very busy. Our server made it over to our table in good time. The location was perfect to attend a show at the Broward Center where you can park and walk. We parked in the garage but i did see parking at the restaurant in a special lot and read somewhere for a small charge you can leave your car and go to the theater! I ordered a shrimp dish with garlic and white wine. It comes with white rice and tostones. I opted for the yellow rice. My boyfriend ordered the chimmie churrie sirloin with mashed potatoes and veggies. He loved it, said the steak was really tender. I finished my meal with a latte for dessert! It was the best around! All our dishes came out in good time and we had plenty enough time to walk back to the theatre and catch the show. It may be our favorite stop before the theatre from now on!

Gilbert J.

Yelp
I usually don't leave reviews but I gotta inform the people. Do not get the lomo saltado. No garlic, no seasoning, nothing. Just a lot of soy sauce. Service was decent. Nice place though just the food was not good which is the main reason why I came

Yelp
We made a reservation and as the pre opera crowd came in, we were glad we did. We ordered the Riverwalk power up salad- mix of baby leafs- spinach and arugula with apples, cranberries, shredded carrots and asiago cheese. as well as the chimney house salad - fresh arugula, spinach, avocado, shredded carrot and quinoa. One friend ordered the snapper and was very happy with it. It is considered Latin Fusion and located on the west part of Las Olas - a stone's throw from the Broward Center. It is an old restored historic home with an outside patio - however, we chose to eat inside. We also opted to pay $15 for parking in their side lot so that we could leave our cars there during the opera. A bit pricey - but easy peasy. You can come here dressed up or make it a very casual night. Either one goes.

Yelp
Chimney house is a great little hidden gem in Fort Lauderdale. The vibe is nice. The food is great. The watermelon champagne sangria was amazing. We loved it. The service was not amazing but maybe she was just busy. I'll definitely go back!

Yelp
I came here for a lunch prior to heading to the Broward Center. The place was crowded but we had a reservation. It's nice here because you can leave your car while you go to the show for a nominal fee. The staff was very friendly and our omelettes came out in literally two seconds but the order of toast never did get to us. Then when we inquired about it, they looked stunned that anyone would have wanted toast! They said the kitchen was backed up and it would be a while. It never came. It looks like there is a nice bar and the menu is adequate.

Yelp
Love this place. The food is authentic and every one of us enjoyed our very bite of our entrees. I was pleasantly surprised as it is next to the Broward Center so I was thinking pre theater dinner, quick mass market food, etc. and I was way wrong! We will be back. Highlights include: Lechon Asado Ropa Vieja & the pork chops. The rest of the party enjoyed the empanadas. The filling was great and packed full of flavor, I just like a firmer empanada. That is just a personal preference. Still delicious. Their homemade salsa is so good I took 8 ounces home! We split a Tres Leche for dessert and glad we did because I could eat a whole portion in myself. This place hits it and worth the destination even when not going to the Broward Center.

Yelp
Another check off of our "To-Try" list. We've driven by countless times and finally got around to visiting for lunch. We came a little after opening and were the only ones there for a little until the lunch crowd started rolling in. By the time we left, majority of the tables inside and outside were filled. We sat outside to enjoy the weather not realizing the heat index was skyrocketing, but the fans and shade made it tolerable. We started off with a half pitcher of refreshing red sangria and the chicharrones. Their home chipotle sauce was delicious and the perfect dipping sauce. Then for our mains, I had the lomo saltado and my boyfriend had the vaca frita which was on special that day. Both tasted amazing and seasoned extremely well. Service was attentive and friendly and a great spot to visit for lunch. I think it's safe to assume service is also timely considering quite a few patrons looked like they were on a lunch break from the surrounding areas. We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Made a pit stop here on the way to drop off my sister at the brightline train. Not pictured the we ordered a chicken saltado, y got the lomo, and my mom got the calamari. I was craving a Cortadito (Cuban style coffee). Ambiance was nice, we Sra outside although it was a bit chilly. The waiter was very nice also. Sadly, the reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because of the food taste and quality. The lomo is usually my favorite at any true Peruvian spot. This lomo's meat was bland and tough, not well seasoned at all. The fries tasted as if they had been sitting in old oil. The "cuban Cortadito" was a damn cappuccino in a smaller cup and the flavor was just horrendous. Too dark and bitter and Cortadito's don't have foam, this did. My sister's food was also bland and my mom's calamari was chewy. We left out food and no, we didn't complain because we didn't want to be those people. I would never go back or recommend simply because of the food. Nothing worse than being hungry and ending up dissatisfied and disappointed. Many thumbs down.

Yelp
The food was excellent. Angela was perfect. Looking forward to going back. The restaurant's parking for the Broward Cenrer show was very convenient. Even in the rain!

Yelp
Nice place to hang informally the service, tapas and ambiance make the experience worth it!

Steve M.

Yelp
The Chimney House has long been the start to evenings of Broadway tours and concerts at Broward Center for me and friends. The prix fixe three-course menu offers substantial variety, even if I mostly default to the shrimp skewers. The staff is most attentive, especially our frequent host Camilla. Parking in the CH lot with dinner is $15, on par with the main Arts Garage, but far easier to leave!
google avatar

Jessica D.

Yelp
My sister found this restaurant for us to dine at before heading to a concert . It's a small and the absolutely the cutest with outdoor seating. The staff are super friendly and the Bartender was doing her Thing!! with the margarita's. Had the steak churrasco with yellow rice and sweet plantain. I cleaned the plate!! If you enjoy some good Argentina food this is your spot !!

Luis C.

Yelp
excelente servicio, la comida riquísima y el ambiente muy bueno, familiar 100% recomendado Excellent service, delicious food. very good family-friendly atmosphere 100% recommend

Christine K.

Yelp
Phenomenal food, accompanied by an attentive staff, all set in a perfect atmosphere. Perfect pre theater spot, as it's a short walk to BCPA. Everything on the menu is cooked perfectly and is simply delicious. Ask for a little container of the hot sauce no matter what you order!

Tim K.

Yelp
The food and the service was amazing. The lechon asado was the best! This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Fort Lauderdale.

Kim B.

Yelp
Amazing food, and incredible service! I highly recommend dinning at The Chimney House!

Yelp
Be advised if you park in the lot across the street that these crooks try to charge you $15 under the impression that you are going to leave your car there and go to the Broward Center for performing arts. They DO NOT bother to ask if that's the case, they simply assume and ask for $15. If in fact you only park across the street to have dinner and then leave, these crooks still demand $15 without taking the time to ask if you are parking just for dinner or to walk to the Broward Center. I bet they get away with this BS all the time. If the food wasn't good I would easily rate one star. Big turnoff how they mishandle the parking situation.

Robbin M.

Yelp
The food at the Chimney House is excellent! One of my favorites is the green plantains and guacamole . So yummy! Mr and Mrs Rodriguez are the perfect hosts... checking on our every need.

Yelp
Just had our second visit to The Chimney House, and this time we took our kids with us:) My husband and I are creatures of habit so we literally ordered exactly the same thing as we did the last time we came here lol I had the Vegetarian Tempeh Platter with the Yuca fries as an appetizer and he had the Arroz Marinero with the octopus as his appetizer. My son ordered the ropa vieja and my daughter ordered the salmon - Both really enjoyed their meals. For dessert my son and husband shared the brownie with ice cream and I took a passion fruit mousse to go because I just couldn't resist myself! It really is such a unique and yummy dessert.

Maria K.

Yelp
The food was excellent and served quickly. The staff was very friendly. The owner came by our table to say hello too!!

Renee H.

Yelp
I love this place, esp since Im vegan so I super appreciate the tempeh dishes. Very good food and great atmosphere esp before a play, very festive. Went with friends and everyone enjoyed their food.

Gary S.

Yelp
Great food and service. Just a short walk to the theater. It's our go to when we are attending a show. They know how to get you fed and on your way.

Yelp
We discovered Chimney House off the Olas, which serves Latin Fusion., flavors of Cuba, Colombia, Peru, and Argentina. East access to park and a very quaint old house which was charming. Lived our server Jenny was was extremely sweet and hospitable. The cuisine was delicious from the chimney house salad to the cuisine regardless of chicken; steak, fish seafood with their authentic taste to their refreshing cocktails las olas limeade, mojito and lavender giin. Save room for desert the passion fruit noose which hit the spot with a cappuccino made to perfection. Everything is made with love.

Yelp
Came here for lunch with 8 coworkers for our boss's birthday. They wouldn't take a reservation over the phone but had me text them the info. Was a little worried we wouldn't have a table when we got there but we did. The building is small but there is additional seating on the patio. I ordered the gaucho steak sandwich. It was grilled steak, Swiss cheese, peppers and chimichurri with a side of fruit. I really enjoyed the sandwich. The steak was flavorful and cooked perfectly. They have fresh squeezed orange juice and a fresh lime aide drink that some coworkers tried. They said both were very good. No one had any complaints on any of the food we ordered. They only thing I would say was a negative was it took awhile to get us the check. Other than that we really enjoyed the ambiance of it being an old house and how they delivered the checks in books was really unique.

Yelp
What a hidden gem this place is! Super cute vibe with indoor seating, small bar seating and lots of outdoor seating. It is literally right across the street from the Broward Center of Performing Arts. We stopped by here before a show last night and they even offer parking for the show for $15 - you can leave your car and come back after the show - so convenient! The staff was so pleasant from check in with hostess to our waitress and her support staff. We were seating promptly because we had a reservation at a lovely table inside that overlooked the street & arts center. The food was amazing. So much to offer that anyone could find something they enjoyed. We started with the guacamole that was served with fresh plantain chips. Delicious guac and so fresh!! We shared the seafood Pallela style dish that was rice with sausage, mussels, calamari, clams, shrimp and octopus. highly recommend and it was a huge portion! super flavorful and it was served with a slightly spicy red sauce on the side. large drink menu too with wine, beer and cocktails. Stop in for dinner before a show!!!

Yelp
I've eaten here before however it had been more than 3 years ago. The menu had a lot of variety of Spanish food including pork. steaks and Seafood. Decided on the lechon Asado (potk) which comes with black beans and rice, and plantains. I order this dish all the time at Cuban restaurants, it's my favorite. I was a little disappointed with the dish here, instead of being succulent chunks of pork it was more like shredded pieces that were not that moist, and a modest portion. My friend had the skirt steak, which I tasted and enjoyed. It comes with black beans and rice , she asked to substitute that for some vegetables or plantains and they would not do it The service was good and the food came out quickly. We enjoyed sitting at an outside table.
google avatar

Yelp
Location, location, location. That's the best thing about the place. Directly across the street from the Broward Center. Small place. Made reservations. Sat inside. Noisy. Service was fair. Food was fresh but nothing to write home about. Disappointed.

Yelp
Had tickets to the concert so decided to give a try and they let us leave our car for a $15 parking fee instead of fighting the garage crowd at the same price. We dined outside street side on a perfect weather evening. I was interested in the pre fixe menu but my guest said it was too much food. I was told that the only way the offered pre fixe was by the table and all had to order so I went back to the menu. Ordered the same items as the pre fixe but now a higher price. Chiccarron appetizer was good but some pieces were fried too hard and near impossible to chew. Great flavor and dipping sauce though. The Lechon Asado was my main entree and it was good. Portion size was tasty but small but rice and beans filled up the plate. The Spanish Flan for dessert stole the show. Best I have ever had. Our host was great and our server excellent and attentive. Overall a nice alfresco experience. #stevensleavin

Yelp
Dissatisfied in many ways. If you want to sit at the bar, you still need to check in. We ordered the Chimichuri Steak with rice and vegetables and everything came out cold. I showed the server the 10% discount for checking in and she said they didn't take it anymore.
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
One of our meals was frozen. We asked for water 3 times, they never brought it until we got up to leave. Expensive for no reason. Won't be back and won't recommend.

Yelp
This is an adorable renovated house to restaurant on the outskirts of Sailboat Bend and directly across the street from the Broward Center of The Performing Arts. The restaurant is decorated around the chimney which is right in the middle of the building and you can read the history of the restaurant on the back of the menu. It's very quaint with an outdoor patio and additional dining inside. We went on the night we were going to a show and parking is $10, so you can leave your car there while you go to the show as long as you are dining there. The menu has a lot of Latin infused foods from all over South and Central America. They have a full bar and prices are very reasonable. We had a party of three and made reservations on a Saturday night. Our waiter approached us early on, and he definitely seemed in kind of a rush to get us in and out quickly. We told him we needed a few minutes to look over the menu first since we weren't even ready with our drink orders. When the waiter came back I ordered a Blue Moon, (they have a nice selection of beer,) one friend ordered a house Cabernet, and the third friend ordered a jalapeño-infused margarita. Drinks came out quick and were good. Our server also tried to push the appetizers on us; but since we were headed to a show we really didn't want to have leftovers. I ordered the Floridian salad with added grilled chicken. It was really good and a decent sized portion of arugula, pine nuts, Gorgonzola cheese & a mango vinaigrette . One friend ordered the snapper and she thought it was really good. The 3rd friend ordered a Latin chicken dish; pechuga de pollo a la parrilla a la pica de Gallo, and she said it was delicious. The checks came in a cute little book that you open up. We were kind of annoyed that we only got one check and our server never asked us if we wanted separate checks. He wasn't rude but he definitely seemed like he was in a hurry to get us in and out, and he wasn't overly friendly. Since the food was good, and there is a lot of ambience plus it is very convenient for theater parking we will definitely be back to give Chimney House another try.

Yelp
Been going here for years. Always consistent, delicious food and great service. A wonderful spot for dinner and then walk to the Broward Center for a show. Deb F

Yelp
What an amazing find!! Great service and amazing food!! I had the watermelon jalapeño margarita and it was fresh and perfect. The food is a great mix of authentic Spanish/Peruvian dishes and American and seafood! I had the ropa vieja and it came with the best beans and rice and plantains I have ever had! Outdoor seating and great vibe throughout! Service is great and very friendly. Right on los olas but away from the busy section! Come see!
