Yelp
"Eek"... I'm only now realizing how appropriate this term is in this case.
Don't worry, I'll get to the food, but first:
Coming in you are greeted with the wonderful smell of... (consider this a pause for effect) wet dog! Restaurants should not smell like this, unless there's an awesome indoor dog park in the basement full of joyous puppies. Really though, the carpet seems like it hasn't been cleaned in years. Having to step in ick of an unknown degree was much less than pleasant.
The fact that I stuck around despite this was a daring move, was it worth it? Well, if you forget that some people from work were getting together, no, no it wasn't.
I had ordered the Spicy Crab Rangoons and General Gao's Chicken.
Spicy Crab Rangoons: While these weren't spicy in the traditional sense, I can appreciate that they were bolder than traditional rangoons. That said, these were a miss for me. To start they were very oily/greasy. But more than that. the filling wasn't "crabby" if you will. I could be the spice overwhelming it, but whatever the case I didn't find any.
The General Gao's Chicken was pretty standard fare. The chicken was hot and decently tender, and the sauce was, well, exactly what you'd expect.
The service was pretty quick, but alas not very attentive.
All in all, food and service lead to a "meh" experience. But the smell and icky carpet bring the rating down even further.
