Great atmosphere! A really nice cafe shop to sip a cup of coffee with friends, or read a book. My latte is good, but for my personal taste, it’s not thick and flavorful. Overall good experience, I’ll come back during the summer time to try their backyard seating.

Cute and spacious coffee shop. Came to get some work done. Definitely chill vibes, lovely decor and staff. Order: liberal snowflake (almond and vanilla syrup with peppermint but I excluded peppermint) delicious and warm drink with a blueberry scone. All delicious!

Coffee is top notch here. High quality . Such a beautiful and cozy little spot with a lovely outdoor patio. Went there with my daughter and the vibe was great for meeting friends, conversation or having a cup of coffee while studying or working. The avocado toast was amazing , especially with the briny feta.

Lovely place. Good coffee and food. The restroom is clean. Nice to stay with friends or yourself. It is a good huge yard outside. That's nice with lots of green. The inside is not small but I feel it is a little bit crowded. The outside is nicer than the inside. If you go, check the weather. The food is good! I love avocado toast and banana toast. Drip coffee is good here. Pls try the drip or iced coffee is amazing. Iam surprised it is not cold brew but amazing taste!

Neighborhood gem! The bagel+lox and curried chicken salad toast is delicious. Drinks can be a hit or miss sometimes, but the lovely backyard more than makes up for it.

Awesome coffee shop in Hamilton Heights. The coffee (counter culture?) is great, the staff is nice, the vibe inside is very cute and they have a patio! There is also ample seating (a rarity in Manhattan) for people that want to do work/be on their laptop!

Popular Hamilton Heights. are with solid coffee and food options Location: The small sign can be easily missed but take the stairs down to the Chipped Cup cafe with a cozy vibe and a (secret) garden outdoor dining. The outdoor space is not a secret but I actually visited years ago and it was a secret to me at least. Food/drink: Ask about their seasonal latte or drink specials. We got the coconut latte which was served in a nice blue mug. The toaster was broken so we went with the bagel and lox ($15) which was super tasty. Then we had the Lemon loaf and liege waffle as sweet options to balance the savory lox bagel. Overall: Great spot especially outside on a nice day. I would recommend coming on the earlier side because peak volume times can be challenging in the smaller space. Thanks Chipped Cup team!

A cozy hole in the wall cafe with delicious avocado toast and coffee. I stopped by here at random while visiting NYC, and I have no regrets! It has a hip atmosphere with students reading their books and working on their laptops. Would love to come back soon!

I LOVE this coffee shop - perhaps one of my favorites in the whole city. This coffee shop is so unique in that they are genuinely so sweet and kind to the community they serve. It's evident by how many repeat customers they have and that they are so pride friendly. When you walk in, you are instantly transformed into their cozy space and it so relaxing and inviting. I ordered a matcha latte, a grilled cheese and tomato soup (which was a new menu item for them), and an iced oat latte to go. Everything was fantastic!! The grilled cheese went perfectly with the tomato soup, which was honestly (surprisingly at a coffee shop) the best tomato soup I've had in the city so far! The girls who took my order engaged in conversation every time I ordered and were so sweet/complimentary. The place was buzzing with people when I went, but they are coming and going so I'd say it's fairly easy to grab a table and work (which I did - a great place to do that or do some reading/writing). Yes, the prices are high, but that's to be expected honestly. I can't wait to go back and try the bagels or be able to sit out on their cute patio when the weather is warmer!!!

I came here while hunting for a place with coffee that I could work from. The girls were super sweet and service was excellent. Coffee was on point. I didn't give it 5 stars because unfortunately I had to leave and look for elsewhere to work from, WIFI did not work at all.

My local coffee shop that has that 2010's hipster feel but none of the pretension. The lattes are varied, and the baked goods are consistently fresh and tasty. The staff have a nice rapport with one another which makes ordering kinda nice and definitely easy. They always get it right. I braved the cool spring and sat in the back yard, which was more spacious that I thought - got some sun and some writing in. It's not ADA compliant sadly, so if you're in a chair or have trouble with stairs sadly it's not for you.

$7.00 for a small oat milk latte?? If you are fine with that (I'm not) you might give this place high ratings.

Lovely coffee shop. My favorite in the area. Is a neighborhood before mine, and the trip is totally worth it. Service, ambience, and environment is friendly, cozy and welcoming. Spacious, plenty of space inside and back patio which has plenty of seats. Coffee is delicious, everything mostly is. You can go for a coffee break , a bite, breakfast, dine in or take out. Work while sipping coffee there's wifi and plenty of tables. High chairs and couches.

The baristas here are wonderful! They make the best drinks, and they are all so friendly. If you are in need of a good London Fog, go here because it is hands down the best in the city. The cafe is spacious and has great seating, good for any occasion!

Nepo babies cosplay baristas. cringe millennial blabber left and right. Phlegm and bile inducing sausage egg and cheese that they slathered with avocado (wrong, didn't even order that). Garden is the best part of this place which is why I serviced this place 2. Stars. Also an upgrade is needed on the hipster cacophony that they call a playlist.

I just love this place. The decor, the people, the outdoor garden. I come here if i just want a quiet catching up with friends while having coffee. The coffee price is a little expensive but i think you're paying for the space on top of the coffee Which is okey.

This place RADIATES coziness and joy! My partner and I decided to try it out today after walking by several times and never going in. Coffee was great, food was delicious, and the staff was so kind! The ambience was very warm and we loved all the decorations. I ended up buying two stickers because I just liked it so much. As if this wasn't lovely enough, we then discovered the garden outside. It was so beautiful. If it wasn't a bajillion degrees outside, I could have sat and read there for hours. My only gripe is that the wifi was a little slow at times, but that certainly didn't take away from the experience at

Everything about this place is amazing! The employees are super nice and friendly. The food is out of this world. The coffee is wonderful. The atmosphere is eclectic and exactly what you would expect in NYC.

I went here almost every day during my stay in New York and every time I was met with amazing coffee and amazing pastries and even more AMAZING customer service. Is cozy and all the baristas are incredibly warm and welcoming! A great place all around.

Literally the cutest place ever. Takes me forever to get here but it's soo worth it. Adorable decorations and a calm and cozy atmosphere. The cashier was super helpful, patient, and kind even though it was busy. The food is fine, but the drinks are delicious.

Quaint little place. The staff is very friendly and conversational. Their almond croissant was pretty solid and the cream/butter they slathered between the slice was so good. Took it to-go so I air dried it a little and it was out of this world. They didn't have any more bagels left for the lox bagel, so they put it on sourdough bread which ended up being a delightful surprise.

Great, friendly staff. Love the ambiance. Gluten free vegan cookie was delish. Looking forward to coming back and trying some more stuff.

The Chipped Cup is a neighborhood spot known to many. It's a cute place with a great ambiance and I enjoy the back patio and outdoor seating. Also, having graduated many years ago now, it makes me feel a little old/happy that I don't have papers to write anymore! My friend and I stopped by to grab coffee and read on the back patio. I was warned about the prices, but nothing prepares you for your first iced mocha that is $6.75. I also indulged in the jelly donut they had for sale given I had run that morning and was ravenous! Overall, their food selection is very basic: they have a small baked goods case, and offer avocado toast, peanut butter toast, chicken salad/tuna salad toast, a granola bowl and I think a chia pudding. Pretty basic food that I could easily make at home, so I chose to get a donut instead. While my iced mocha was a little overpriced, it was really, really good and the large size is pretty generous. My jelly donut left me wanting more, oh well! I think the best part about the Chipped Cup is the ambiance. It's a great spot to catch up with a friend, and there are plenty of folks working away inside as well. The wifi is pretty slow, though. Overall, the Chipped Cup is worth checking out for the ambiance and some good coffee.

Love love love this place! The garden in the back is so cute. The avocado toast was some of the best avocado toast I've had in a while. And the hazelnut iced coffee with oat milk I got was delicious, exactly what I needed. Be aware that this place is pretty busy on the weekends so I did wait for a bit. Also to sit inside you need to show vaxx card, but the AC is also pumping in there!! Will always return here for coffee and breakfast when I'm in the area.

The Chipped Cup is really hidden. It's down a flight of stairs tucked between two buildings. It's the traffic going inside and the cute sign outside that brought it to my attention. It was right on time for my bout of low blood sugar after walking over three miles. The space is so relaxing and inviting. It's really like being in someone's home. I love this decor with all the trinkets and photos on the walls. People were definitely enjoying the inside and the garden outside. The line to order was confusing me. Finally a couple of customers told me which was the line to order. They were preparing a lot of food so people were waiting for their orders. The way they put the completed order on the counter concerned me. You can easily pick up the wrong order. You pay first then wait for the name of your food to be called. They don't take cash but do email a receipt and since I requested a paper receipt I was surprised when I was handed one. The employees are not overly friendly just keeping on task. They appear to be very experienced and comfortable in their jobs. I wanted an Everything Bagel and cream cheese because I was looking for grab and go brunch. They only had one Everything left and it was sold before I ordered. I decided to try the Onion Bagel with Cream Cheese. Oh boy! I was NOT disappointed. That bagel was so so good. I Didn't Even have heartburn or any aftertaste the rest of the day. The cream cheese was plentiful and delicious. I sat at a table in the Broadway Mall across the street. I really should have gone to their garden because the wind was fierce yesterday. I would advise you to sit in their garden. I'm giving them Four Stars because of my ordering confusion and my food pick up concerns. If those areas were tightened up this would be a Five Star review. I checked to be sure I had the correct order before I left. I'd advise you to do the same if you are buying to take out. AND on a positive note, their price was excellent for my bagel and cream cheese. Enjoy!

Quite quickly, The Chipped Cup has become my go-to spot when I'm on the run and want a boost to my day. Many of the patrons are regulars and are always happy to make new friends. The staff defines the meaning of 'outgoing' and always provide service with a smile. There is a cute courtyard in the back that helps round out the perfect experience.

Coffee tasted like coffee, not special. Sandwich (tuna) was good but I would have liked more. Backyard space was great- charming and fun. So, if you want a coffee and a snack in a unique NYC location this place is what you are looking fir.

This place is so cozy and cute. I think the employees must've read y'all's reviews because I got excellent service - the baristas were so friendly!! Sure it's a little overpriced but so is everything in this city. I will definitely be back !

We thought we'd grab a quick breakfast. We got turmeric chai, hot chocolate, chia pudding bowl and banana toast. Everything was just as you'd expect. There was nothing overly amazing about this food experience. Chia pudding is great with berries and pumpkin seeds, banana toast with peanut butter and Nutella is a great combo and it's totally expected.

Amazing oat matcha latte here! Super intense flavor and creamy. It was just so good! Many spots to sit inside and back in the garden. Good vibes, nice deco. I liked the bread from the fancy tuna toast menu, it was a hearty piece of bread. Very chewy and felt like a real bread. The wifi is pretty slow though.

A very cute, subterranean coffee shop with an extremely expansive outdoor courtyard that wraps around the back of the establishment and is even larger than pictured in other yelp reviews. I cannot think of another coffee shop that has as much space for lounging, working, chatting, and enjoying its products as this one. Not far from the 145th subway station, so an easy commute for those on the high upper west side or lower Harlem. They have moderately large food offerings, I only wish they served them all day; when we arrived at 2 on a Saturday, it was too late to get food other than a measly few pastries that remained. The drinks were good, but you'd mostly be coming for the ambience, in my opinion.

I came here and the service was good. I got a sprinkling water and my sister ordered a cortado. The sparkling water was tasty and it was flavored with a Japanese fruit. I had a croissant and it was good but not very good. I liked that they had a backyard and the service was great. I like more options for breakfast pastries. They had bagels but I was not in the mood for bagels.

Terrible -- bunch of young white women chatting it up and not paying attention behind the counter. Wait 20 minutes for a bagel while the pontificate on friendships and realize they have nothing for you.

I stumbled upon this place by chance due to the bright colored wall outside & I love everything about it!! The baristas are really kind and funny too, and they made my day much better. The garden caught me by surprise -- it is so beautiful and quirky, and it is the perfect place to sit and do work or just enjoy. There are spots with shade and spots with sun, the decorations are beautiful, and it is peaceful and quiet. They give you your food to go instead of using a server, so it feels very safe with Covid. The food tasted excellent as well and was clearly made with a lot of care and effort. It was also healthy and filling -- definitely worth the price ($10). I will definitely be back.

The place is very quaint inside and the food is delicious and fresh - the jelly donut is absolutely scrumptious! I definitely recommend the food and the staff were lovely. My only issue was my husband and I wanted to eat in and all the tables were full. In and of itself that's nothing remarkable, but only two tables were actually eating and drinking. Everyone else was just hanging out, on the computer or writing in notebooks. The girl advised us to wait and said someone should be leaving soon. We actually stood for 20 minutes and nobody left. We ended up walking back to our place and eating there. I understand that the staff cannot ask people to leave if they are just sitting at the table, it's got to be frustrating for them as they must be losing money. Another couple came in while we were there, waited 5 minutes and then they left. I did have to laugh when a young lady walked up to the water dispenser with her own travel cup and finding it empty, asked the girl at the counter to fill it for her. She then sat back down and continued writing in her book. Didn't even have a coffee!

The Chipped Cup experience, like many small, sweet coffee houses in New York City, entirely depends on the availability of space. On any given day you could stop in, and the place could be packed to the gills with nowhere to sit and drink your coffee. On another day there might be a comfortable table calling your name. While this is a wonderful thing, it cannot be relied upon. There are many people in this city who plant with their laptop at a table in a coffee shop and stay for hours and hours. The day I visited the Chipped Cup, we were lucky to get a an excellent table right away. We ordered two hot coffees, an almond horn and a delicious toast covered in brie, apple, fig jam and drizzled with honey and chopped mint. Fan-Tastic! The staff was great and the overall vibe was relaxed and warm. Definitely recommend the CC, though it's all a matter of timing. Good luck!

The Chipped Cup is a great coffee place for meetups. They have a gorgeous garden area in the back for outdoor dining that they share with their neighbor the Honeywell. It is a hidden oasis in busy Manhattan! I have never ordered their pastries, but do enjoy their iced lattes and cold brew. Great music and great service.

Calmed and lovely local coffee shop. Their menu is quite specific and they do a great job with each one of their offerings. Their lattes are great. Specially if you pair it with a good book and a visit to their patio, which is comforting.

This place gets 2 start ONLY because of how cute it is. The food, the coffee, the service: subpar and this is New York so you can definitely find better. My reviews are mostly positive so let's start with the features i enjoyed. The place itself is so cute a great place to take photos or sit and study. There are mirrors everywhere so hello selfie time! You get to go outside and sit in mismatched chairs and furniture though the whole place does desperately need a cleaning (and i mean it's Covid season so PLEASE). The service wasn't the greatest as the barista messed up one of my friends drinks and then proceeded to blame her for the mistake... the price seemed a little steep i personally only got a cappuccino which comes in one size: small and that ran me about $5 for a paper cup no bigger than a sampler from Starbucks. The coffee itself tasted burnt and as someone who drinks extreme amounts of espresso, i just wasn't happy. My friend got one of their pastries which left a film of grease at the top of our mouths, reminding us all that baked goods do have a shelf life. Idk guys if you want to go, go for the aesthetics don't go for the food or the coffee trust me on that.

Really cute cafe! Great place to work and study. They have a very nice outdoor patio that gets great sunlight. However, outdoor seating is limited so get there early. They have Wifi which is essential for a great cafe and their Banana Nut Muffin (~$3.75), which was gluten free, was moist, delicious and the barista warmed it for me which I appreciated. One thing I noticed/tip for management was that inside there were a lot of single people sitting at tables for 4 so by having more tables that would only seat 2 would allow for more indoor seating options.

Best coffee and bagels everything is so good!!! The energy in this coffee shop is phenomenal everyone is so sweet and the manager Sarah definitely makes you feel seen and heard and she rocks. I have been here every morning the past week just because it's so fire

I would give this place Zero stars if I could. How difficult is it to toast a bagel? Apparently it's a Herculean effort that takes over 30 minutes. It would have taken 5 minutes if the "barista " wasn't busy trying to create Performance art. He never placed the order. Attitude from the would be "Christo of Coffee" when it was brought to his attention. Fuck that noise! Allowing people to bring in dogs with them is another grossness factor. I love dogs but I don't want to eat or drink with other peoples in a cellar coffee house. The coffee that I did get tasted burnt like it had sat in the pot on a burner to long. The guy preparing the bagel was nice enough. He was apologetic for the "baristas " inability to order food and make drinks. I would have liked to sit down while I was waiting unfortunately the chairs and tables looked Skeezy. Unclean not just old and beat up chic. No thanks. Won't be back. Key points Barista has shitty pretentious attitude. Place is filthy and run down beyond "chipped " trendy. Coffee tasted old or burnt. Cycle that coffee. AKA do your job. They allow people to bring dogs in that aren't service dogs. Can't seem to get orders correct. Blue Man Group want to be. I'll pass.

Very adorable cafe! Hidden in Hamilton Heights, this cute cafe serves an array of pastries and coffee. There is a pretty courtyard you can sit in if the weather is nice. The outdoor area has mismatched tables and chairs which I find super neat. I ordered an iced coffee and almond croissant. Both were delicious! This cafe would be a super chill place to catch up with friends or maybe even reading. I think studying might be a little difficult seeing it does get crowded and a bit loud! If you are in the neighborhood and need a coffee break I would definitely recommend Chipped Cup and sit outside if the weather is nice!

This place is wonderful. a real special place to have amidst the pandemic. the coffee is delicious, the backyard garden seating is beautiful and the staff, baristas, etc. are all warm and work really hard (it gets so busy!) For a while, they were closing at 7, which for me and im sure others was convenient. it was really great to be able to stop off for a coffee or tea before i went to my night shift. Then they started closing at 6 and now at 5. I dont quite understand this move as part of what makes this place an NYC cafe is the somewhat after-dark hours.

I visited the Chipped Cup as my last stop in Harlem before heading to the airport. The coffee was great! What a fun little subterranean space! The outdoor space was a magical little treat you wouldn't expect from the street! The staff were all friendly and competent.

Stopped by here to grab a quick drink (iced coffee)/pastry. It's located in the Washington Heights area. The service is friendly and the vibe is laid back cool. You can sit here and just chill with your book. There apparently is an outdoor area in the back (we didn't go) so it seems it would be a perfect summer spot to spend your lazy Sunday mornings

Found this little place on the map while visiting family and had to check it out. It's a cute cafe, cozy and I really enjoyed the eclectic atmosphere. Out of the four of us in my group we all enjoyed our drinks. My avocado toast was on a bagel but I actually preferred it that way and it was good. A bit to heavy on the Olive oil. Chai pudding bowl takes a little getting used to but still delicious, my husband would have liked a bit more fruit though. Now the prices were a bit on the high side for the overall quality I would say and I have been to many different coffee, tea, cafe style places. But they are up and coming for the area!

Love this place! Delicious coffee and pastries, and such a cute atmosphere. It's not cheap, but the prices are fair for a small, local coffee joint. Loved that the back garden is open for outdoor seating during COVID. Will definitely be coming back.

Some of the employees are super weird but I had another set of good coffee experiences. The pan aux raisins is awesome (have them heat it up), as are the chai tea lattes and chocolate ginger molasses cookies. Edit 8/2017: iced caramel latte was amazing. Definitely worth the splurge. Avocado toast had good flavor, but the bread was so hard that I nearly broke my jaw. Pass!
