Bars in NYC to Support Buffalo’s Bills Football Team - Eater NY
"Fish and chips are a big deal in Buffalo, partly because of its Catholic heritage, but also because of its maritime location on Lake Erie. The Chippery in the East Village is the best place to get beer-batter-fried fish." - Melissa McCart
Service was good. Fish and the fries were ok.
I was looking for an outstanding fish and chips location and wanted to give it a try. This is not that location for sure, probably I will not go there again.
For the price for a menu you are paying, you would expect better, cleaner the seating and tables...

I came here because it was recommended to me. I had past by but never went. I found it a bit on the expensive side but overall the food was good. I like the fish and wings that I ordered. The soft shell crab was just ok and so were the fries. Everything had a lot of seasoning and the person working there asked if I wanted seasoning. Glad I said no. There is only one person there doing everything! I think they need help as service as slow because they can only do one order at a time.

Fish came out PIPING HOT and fresh . I got the single Cod fish and chips plate which was like $10 . It comes with your choice of sauce ( most of which seem mayonnaise based so I'd just use ketchup personally or cocktail sauce. ) The chips are actually round disk shaped instead of french fry shaped but they are pretty tasty. They have a couple tables outside in the street (as NYC is still doing street dining.) Staff is friendly and nice . Pretty good , I'd be interested to try the shrimp next time .

Pleasantly surprised at how good the shrimp, fish and chips were. The fries were very delicious with how they were filled with pockets of air too. You get a lot of food for your dollar here as well. Definitely recommend!

The food is very delicious. I was starving and I ordered a lot. Lobster bisque is amazing. Staff is very friendly, helpful & attentive. I enjoyed every single bite.

Decent enough fish and chips, but the fish was way too thin and was practically all breading. Popcorn shrimp were alright, chips themselves are pretty good but I think malt vinegar should come by default for a proper chippery. Fish bites were surprisingly good and coleslaw was a bit sweet but overall fine, pretty reminiscent of KFC coleslaw honestly.

super fast delivery, arrived fresh, still crispy, and delicious! this was my second time ordering and won't be my last. in addition, the manager himself called later in the day to follow up and see how i enjoyed my food (or not, but i did) 👍

Delicious! We are currently eating in the car bc we were afraid to go home to eat. But the owner smartly sliced the tops of the boxes so it wouldn’t get soggy.
We ordered:
- the Titanic (fish, shrimp, calamari and chips)
- the kids meal Chicken with chips
Everything was so good—especially the chips. Maybe slightly a little to salty for my tastebuds but still gooooood! The shrimp and calamari— perfecto!! The fish was just ok. I admit having had fish and chips in London and Dublin my expectations are high. But they were still good. A crispier fish batter would have made it sing. My six year old said it’s not good— it’s excellent (referring to his chicken)!
The sauces we got: chipotle, tartar and lime and cilantro. They were good too. Chipotle was my favorite. Original tartar tasted a little sweet to me.
We would def be back and recommend to friends. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed.
