The Church Nightclub

Spent NYE here for the Kasbo show, and it was excellent. I really appreciate all the different areas to dance in 3 staging areas. The main hall is beautiful and the lights and sounds were well balanced and spectacular. Security was thorough but not invasive. I was allowed to walk in with my rechargable glow sticks without issues, just be ready to show you aren't concealing anything. Drinks were pricey, staff in the venue were really cool.

Cool place very chill atmosphere. The security was fine. A few were easy to talk to an joke with. Garath Emery was a great show. A few points to consider. A. Some menu or sign to what drinks are available and price. I had to go up and ask can you make this or that. Im not sure how but having a girl to the side to get cans of beer, white claws. Also no merch table? I wouldn't have minded getting a sticker or shirt. Other than that it was pretty cool environment.

I am a 55 year young Dub/Trap Heavy Bass lover. As a hearing impaired /PTSD Vet… I love this place..The Church always has awesome performances. Many Exits and ample air flow. Awesome Staff presence. I have been a dozen times this year and plan on attending very soon. Parking, hotels, eats all in the immediate area. Only one lil thing I’d like to see more visuals..Lazers, lights&fog..Especially for the opening acts.. Otherwise, church nightclub keep up the great job. Keep the venues coming you guys are awesome.

I went to go see Cash Cash and was a bit worried after reading reviews here and on reddit criticizing the conduct of the staff, but this was one of the best club experiences I've had. Security was courteous, bartenders were attentive and gave good pours, coming from Miami and Sydney I thought prices for drinks were fine (11 for a vodka tonic and 14 for a Makers Mark on ice), sound system is decent, coat check took good care of my stuff, and shutdown was civilized. Also the ambiance of being in an old church resonates well with a bit of sin. The main act performs in the space where the clergy would be and the dance floor is the space where the worshippers would have sat in their pews, a suitable parallel depending on what you worship ;). I'll be back for sure.

The sound was amazing, the staff were fantastic. Great experience. Laszewo killed it. Amazing sell out crowd having a wonderful time.

We recently went to Church Nightclub for a Ferry Corsten show. The DJ was absolutely amazing and delivered a 5-star performance. No complaints at all about the music. Unfortunately, the venue itself was disappointing. There were far too many drug users inside (I honestly don’t know how they’re even allowed in). The bars serve low-quality drinks with no proper cocktails on the menu. The overall atmosphere didn’t feel welcoming, and instead of a fun crowd, there were too many people either overly intoxicated or clearly on drugs. This club has potential, but it desperately needs a change in management. I would strongly suggest a rebranding — improving the service, redesigning the interior, and most importantly, not letting in drug users or heavily drunk people. That alone would completely transform the vibe of the place.

Cool place and atmosphere. Service is so so but that’s expected in such a club. Could be cleaner as it smells like vomit in several places from the nights before.

Great venue for electronic music, edm, house, trance, and that sort of music. They have had a few anjunadeep label musicians which is what brought me there in the first place.

Pretty cool, massive mostly EDM dance bar with multiple areas and levels. They have many well-known DJs playing there and a huge DJ stage. (PS, you don't come here to "get" drunk, you get your buzz on someplace/anyplace else much cheaper. If you just turned 21, time to learn this if you don't somehow know already before going to a "club" that will always rip you off on price and booze volume). I've only been once in all this time of living in Denver nearby, just always skews super youngin' so that's been the biggest deterrent. The night I went if you came before 11pm they did have free tix available, I don't know how often that's the case being that's been the only time I went (so far). Right in front of the speakers is a LOT. The volume might leave you partially imparied, you might want to put in some earplugs if up there (something I didn't think about until the end of the night when a friend told me that's what they did, fair plan to carry some with you just in case). May not seem "cool" but a hearing deficit is "less cool". I like there's so many areas to go and move around to inside. It was a throwback 2010s EDM night when I went and it was -- ok/good-ish. The DJ had some major issues with transition, especially to start, OMG -- like HARD 5, 6, 7+ second pause between songs... I don't understand why any DJ on this stage size would get the start if they haven't evolved enough in their career yet to demonstrate that they handle song transitions all night, from beginning to end (or do some practice/prep?). I think it's one of the worst things a DJ can do is have multi-second gaps between EDM songs, yuck. It's like listening to a non-digital jukebox. We don't have that kind of patience anymore nor that expectation in this particular type of music genre. I also wish the music choices were more throwback of truly notable EDM songs, not just radio/popular songs like "Titanium" -- do I like the song, yeah sure, but for a throwback EDM night, I want to hear the music I NEVER got to hear in popular mainstream or movies, the music that I had to seek out and go and find, like I bet weddings play Titanium these days. We can skip it on this more specialized night. Save it for the kids. Can we get the good stuff from those times where EDM was getting less attention? What about the massive, major EDM faves that helped build the genre like Armin van Buuren (who DOMINATED the 2010s, are you kidding?! I didn't hear any AvB in the hours I was there), Above & Beyond, Ferry Corsten, Gareth Emery, Tiesto, Dash Berlin, etc. (can I make the playlist?! lol, I do have a 30 HOUR playlist anyone could sample from :) There's so many good options, maybe the DJ was too young to know (that's no excuse!), if that's the issue, I'd rather have had a more knowledgable, seasoned DJ doing this kind of night for us long-time lovers who miss and still very much enjoy the more foundational songs of EDM. I'd loooove a Vocal Trance EDM, night, specifically!!! I'd be on planet earth heaven.

On December 27th my friend was thrown and assaulted by bouncers. Bouncer escalated with yelling over an asked question. Four bouncers grabbed him by his legs and arms and threw him on the ground.

So I see lots of negative reviews. The Church is normally a dance club, and I attended a private event there, so my review reflects my experience there. I have never been there when it was open to the public, so it is probably a totally different experience. There venue is gorgeous and totally unique being it was built in the late 1800's and was an actual place of worship. Lots of awesome architecture and stained glass windows. Multiple rooms which, I'm assuming when it is open to the public, has different raves or themes. There were several levels and multiple bars, again, don't know how this operates on a normal dance night. I enjoyed myself and if you're looking to rent a unique venue for a private event I would recommend it.

I was groped by security. I'm sorry but there's no reason a search should include squeezing my breasts! Overall a meh club some after concert performances are cool and multi rooms have various themes but the entrance groping killed my night and it's a common thing there.

This club treated us exceptionally well. Not only did they put us up in a better VIP spot, they also offered exceptional service and were very attentive to the desires of the party. Mareena was a gem.

Came here for "Latin night", got 2 drinks, a shot of casamigos with sprite... $44?!?!?! Hello? This ain't no Vegas?? 2 small drinks for $44?!?! Ambience was okay.

31 dollars for a vodka Red Bull. 31! Dollars?!! Bartender didn't even tell me how much my drinks was just ran my card.

A truly beautiful location (a former church). Great music, DJs and pleasant crowd. Clearly a popular location. Amazing bass Good drinks, bartenders, security. Pleasant experience

They tried to charge me a $38 cover charge at 1 am on a Sunday. It's a cool club, but that's ridiculous. Not fucking cool, and definitely not worth the Monday for an 18+ club

Will not visit this venue for another show. Security was rude and stole a vap pen from us. Didn't even ask just took it out of pocket and stashed it in a Rubbermaid bin and refused to give it back. Didn't bother asking us if we'd rather see the show to forfeit our property. Meanwhile people were out on the patio right next to the entrance smoking and vaping, go inside and see the same thing. Drinks were also absurdly overpriced. Didn't bother to stay and contribute to their poor business practices.

Staff was extremely rude and stuck up, they threw away my possessions in front of me instead of letting me go back to my car. Dont go here unless you want no lasers, lame fog machines, and rude staff. ​​​​​​​

It's a good little space because there are numerous levels of floor to Church and the music is usually pretty good. I go every Thursday with the homies and haven't had ANY problem unlike Temple who was to kick everyone out for bs reasons

The church is a cool venue, but unfortunately that is where the positives stop. We attended a popular EDM show on a Friday evening and decided to splurge on a VIP area and bottle service. If you are considering this please do not waste your money. There was nothing VIP about it the area was not roped off, and we had to ask people to leave our area several times, when sitting we were crowded by people who had not paid to be in the area, and we had leave someone posted at the table at all times to protect our belongings and drinks due to the lack of area control. On top of the non-VIP, VIP area the service was non existent our server dropped off our bottles and mixers and didn't come back. On top that the access to a bathroom from our area was not good. There was a one stall bathroom upstairs that quickly became a porta-potty type situation. The music was good, but save money on any "premier" service don't waste your money.

This place was tons of fun. Came for a weekend from Utah. I really liked that there was two different places you can party at. Upstairs had the edm, downstairs had the hip hop. You get the best of both worlds here. & The table prices was very fair for a Friday night. This place was huge, and completely packed upstairs. It's so refreshing downstairs, or "underground" as some would call it. Had all the throwbacks. I had the most fun there

Drinks over priced. Staff is rude, touchy, disrespectful. Security is WAY TO AGGRESSIVE. New management sucks. Place is trashy and disgusting. Staff kicked me out without warning, because I was shirtless. (You have been able to be shirtless here for 4 plus years.) on top of that he wouldn't let me tell my ride who was inside, even though I had her phone and car keys. He responded with, "I don't give a f*** that's not my issue" and pushed me out. Next time ima push back.

Love this place! I frequently visit this place on Bass Nights or House Nights. Never really had a negative experience with security other than the extremely invading strip searching. However, I understand the reason behind it. Music is good and I do enjoy the different types of music in each room, nice to have some variety for all types of crowds. My reason for 4 stars is because there's a parking lot across from the venue that they do recommend parking at. However, there's activity that occurs in that parking lot which makes me feel extremely unsafe. Maybe a security car or two to ensure everyone is safe. Actual place can get pretty crowded really quickly, not sure if they ever stop selling tickets with guest safety in mjnd.

We loved working with Adrienne the Church Nightclub Private Events Manager. It's such a beautiful location with incredible sound system, perfect lounge areas and the site is just nearly impossible to compare. Nice area to hire a private cigar roller and loved the upstairs for the bouquet toss. Highly recommend for your wedding or private event.

I came here with my husband and two queer friends. I am not discounting anyone else's experience, but I do think it's weird that so many of the negative reviews are by people who have 5 or fewer yelp reviews. It's possible that there was such a negative impression that people were compelled to yelp when they never have/don't usually, but I just want to point out that it's odd. We had a great time. There was a lot of security. They did not bother us. I chatted with one of them while my friends were in the bathroom and they were funny and fine. I did think it was an excessive amount of security, but again, they did not bother us at all. 3 stars because despite it being a cool-looking venue, it wasn't a superb experience. We got there right at 9 when the club opened, and our cover was $30 for 2 people. I think $10 for me and $20 for my husband. That's pretty high IMO. We are over 21, so planning to drink, and we are there at 9 o'clock. I think cover should be higher for the 18-20 crowd, as they won't be drinking, and should go up as it gets later since the club is more full. Drinks were also very expensive. $12 for a vodka soda. They're reasonably strong, but excessively priced. I do wonder if this is to make up for the 18+ aspect. I should not have to pay for minors to dance. This might make me sound old AF, but the music was too loud and the lights were troublesome. The music was always competing with music from another room and even shouting my friend couldn't hear me saying I was going to the bathroom. I had to literally type it on my phone and show her the screen. The lights were mostly cool UNTIL THEY WEREN'T. When they weren't, it was a spotlight coming down across your eyes for up to 10 seconds. Just....keep the lights higher. It doesn't seem difficult. Why are you trying to punish me? This was a cool venue and I'm glad I went. I don't put it high on my list to return to mainly because of the price.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL! SECURITY GUARDS ARE DICKS. Got thrown out for dancing? I have fingerprint marks on my left arm and street marks from when I was thrown out. I'm 5'3 and 106lbs! I get those guys are "doing their job" but they already had negative energy when we were standing in line & all I was doing was dancing. Later when I found my sister she had been injured. We aren't sure from what. They make drinks strong and then kick you out when you're drunk? And steal your money! They charged my sisters card 3 fucking times even though she only bought two drinks and was supposed to have a tab open? If y'all wanna go, go. Just be careful and drink before. If you buy a ticket and they kick you out, you aren't allowed to enter.

When I met my wife we were kindred spirits living the best versions of ourselves, after our night out at the church...things will never be the same. Apart from the medical and therapy expenses, this has cost us dearly. Richie Hawtin was on the steel wheels playing his hybrid DJ/live set as we sat in the VIP area. All of the sudden this god forsaken ghost appears in the booth. Now I'm all for an adventurous night out but the afterlife? When we ordered spirits (at a premium bottle service price point) we had another thing in mind. We reported the apparition to the security team but they couldn't be bothered. When we spoke with the "room manager" he responded by citing municipal codes and rambling about premises liability. I didn't see any signs warning us of haunting but he said Management is not responsible for the undead. We won't be back.

I can't speak to the business or experience itself, but as a nearby neighbor, I find The Church to be miserable. Every weekend morning, there is trash on Sherman Street, obviously left by their patrons. The street is lined with empty liquor bottles and paper plates from the food truck vendor. This morning, I the trash was especially ironic, it prompted me to leave a review. The club shows no consideration for the residents living adjacent to it. During the summer, they had a prominent DJ and a line wrapped around the block for hours, making the sidewalk inaccessible. The club's patrons left trash on the street again while waiting for their orders from DoorDash and alcoholic beverages. I wish the managers of this club showed that they cared about their neighbors. Although I tolerate the loud music and raucous late at night since it is part of living in this area, it would be nice if they returned the favor as well.

Entry cost on Friday night: $40. EACH. Coat Check: $5. If you lose your ticket, you lose your coat. Entry Requirements: Full Body pat down, be ready to have your purse/pockets completely and thoroughly searched. Ambience: It was neat to have different rooms with different music. The place was extremely crowded. While walking out and trying to figure out where to go next (it was the first time there since 2015) I got knocked off sidewalk by someone behind me right in front of security and they didn't do anything except tell me to move out of the way. While it was an experience, it wasn't one I'm willing to do again, unfortunately.

One of the worst nightclub experiences I've been to in a while. Management doesn't turn on AC in there. We first walked in to a blast of humidity and it honestly felt like we walked into a rainforest. Not cool. Definitely don't go here, especially if there's a popular DJ playing.

READ THIS! i have been going to raves/ festivals for years. i went to see walker & royce last night and it was 100% by far the worst crowd that i have ever been in. showed up around 10 o'clock and the venue was packed with 16-18 year olds that were obviously intoxicated. i go to the bar to get a drink and go back to the dancefloor. my girlfriend and i were standing in the middle to front and constantly getting pushed and bumped into by kids which was super annoying and made the show unenjoyable. mind you we are 20 and 21 years old so we have been there before not too long ago. but it seemed like these kids had 0 rave etiquette. no one says excuse me and just goes where they want to. because of this, we decide to move to the back of the venue. mind you this is new year's eve and new year's day is my birthday so i this is what we chose to do. came all the way from texas for this night. while standing in the back i had my girlfriend hold my drink so i could tie my shoe. in 20 seconds a security guard comes up, grabs her hand and sees the X. he claims she was drinking it and proceeds to walk us ALL the way out to get new Xs on her hand. the front man claims she tried to wash them off and goes off on her. why would she wash them off if i am 21? she is also not a big drinker. makes no sense. also- i obviously follow her to make sure everything is okay, this male security guard keeps grabbing me and touching me trying to keep me from leaving the venue. finally i push through and he yells kick them out they are causing problems. we were just standing. they obviously didn't see the 16-18 year olds in the front with Xs drinking SHOOTERS AND ALCOHOL THEY BROUGHT FROM HOME. got kicked out and ruined my birthday. NEVER, i repeat NEVER go to this club. also saw multiple girls in a state like they had been roofied sitting with club staff who were "helping them". super rapey vibes from all of the male staff and attendees. really bad vibe inside. this is the worst event i have ever been to in my life.

Wasn't very fun and security is extremely overbearing. Won't let you have a good time! I would suggest other night clubs in the area.

As most of the reviews say, the security WILL kick you out for no reason. I was there on Saturday, and was outside the bathrooms waiting for my friend. Which, by the way, the guys bathroom floor was severely flooded when I was there. My friend comes out of the restroom and we sit for a bit just to talk. We were minding our own business when one of the security tells us to stand up and follow her to the exit because we were "clearly intoxicated". Mind you, we had at most two or three drinks prior to getting there that night already and hadn't even gotten any at the church since we arrived. Not wanting to start anything, I politely followed to the exit but was being pushed to hurry up as I was waiting for people to walk by so I can get through. I definitely would not come here again because of the staff, which is a shame because I was having fun that night

Cool space to enjoy live EDM! They have regularly scheduled concerts with decent lineups and always bring out amazing talent.

My husband & I went to see Infected Mushroom a few weeks ago and this was our first time visiting The Church. I made the choice to be sober that night and I realized it was probably a silly decision. Lots of people, lots of stimulus, lots of people bumping into you, lots of people spilling their drinks all over the floors - you know how it goes. I was incredibly happy to discover a darker room next to the main stage with couches and chairs for relaxing. That definitely helped me decompress a bit. We had been there since the doors opened at 9, so by midnight, I was kind of done. There are numerous stages throughout the building which is really cool. The architecture of the building is gorgeous and the sound system is very loud. The security makes it known that they are there. A few women patrolled in a pack as they made their rounds. We saw a few people get kicked back out. I'm glad we had the experience but my late night music venue days might be over.

READ! Security will basically strip search you. Security will look through every little corner of you. They are always just looking over peoples shoulders and constantly running through crowd. For me, raving is supposed to be a safe and freeing place. This venue is cool but the security really kills the vibe. Security is always checking up on everyone and gives no one space. This is not a place to feel safe and free. It's really sad to see this venue representing the community in such a mega manner. Honestly one of the worst experiences I've ever been through. But hey if you're fine getting groped and fondled by security every second this is the place.

Make sure you tip the bartender Don't forget to tip! even if they make you wait at the empty basement bar. If you don't, they will call you back, grab the drink out of your hand, and spill half of it out! For reference, it was a 16 dollar drink.

Would rather jump off a mountain with no safety than ever enter foot in this building. Staff was nice, environment was full of little kids- like underaged. Not sure if they serve food? Wouldn't recommend, I'd actually tell you to avoid it instead.

The church has been a long time staple in not only my life but all of denver nightlife. My husband and I decided to host our wedding at the church and our experience was nothing short of magical! The staff was extremely helpful and kind and happy for us. Maria was very helpful and the sound and lighting was perfect. We even experienced some insane weather and they did not even flinch to adjust. It was a perfect setting for a perfect snowy day.

0 stars if possible!!! never would return again, worst club experience of my life honestly && i'm coming from nyc ! avoid this space if possible!! everyone cover your drinks & watch out for your friends!!!

There isn't really food served here, and the venue only opens late, late at night, after 9pm. They rarely have music other than disco and hip-hop, and the place reeks like blood. It's always crowded and the music they play is way too loud, hurts my eardrums. The bar downstairs serves only drinks, no food.

This place is amazing, I had a $5 cover fee and was treated very nicely by security. Drinks were super cheap, I got a white claw for $3 each which is really good. I got pretty tipsy that night and the security offered to pay for my Uber and help me get a ride home. Never been to a club this good I would definitely Recommend.

The Church is an incredible venue with at least 6 bars and 4 areas for music. My husband and I came to see and hear Gareth Emery on a Friday night. He was the only DJ on the bill so we thought. But I wasn't real surprised that there was another one when we arrived at the beginning of the show. It was very disappointing that two more performed before Gareth came out at 12:30. AM Because of this I'll never be able to get my husband to come back again. In addition to the late start, my husband sat in the room next to the main event room. There was hip hop playing in that room and you could also hear the DJs in the other room. They competed with each other which was pretty horrible. He said the music sounded like noise. Well yeah! Hip hop and EDM at the same time, no kidding! Except for the comfortable seat, it was hard to stay in that room. Please figure out the sound carrying problem, and be more up front with the advertising. This could be a go-to venue

Biggest disappointment. The security guards took my fucking mace at the front of door. And it was a male security guard. Fuck you

I never write reviews. I love Church. The bouncers at Church nightclub have power issues and should be fired. The first thing I hear about when talking about the place is people getting kicked out for no reason. This one time me & my friend went, he still had a vertical id so they gave him the 18+ band or whatever. He had a real 21+ id tho. Paid our big 35, walked in, bought a $20 moscow mule, within seconds they ripped the drink out of our hands & kicked both of us out. all the bouncers checked my boys i'd outside, they were like yup it's real, went to check back in at the front, dude said he'd kicked us out 10 minutes ago ‍ mind you, not even that faded & just got there.

If you enjoy being harassed by security, paying for overpriced drinks, and dancing to sub par DJ music then this is the place for you! I was there on Halloween and went to the bathroom stall to adjust my costume. Upon leaving the restroom I was swarmed by a handful of rude security guards that were claiming they heard "crackling and sniffing sounds coming from my stall." No such thing happened! I only had 2 drinks in me and was not acting disorderly and I do not do drugs! I tried reasoning with security but they didn't believe me and kicked me out. I was told by friends that The Church is only fun if you plan on seeing a specific DJ there, otherwise it's trash. And now I understand why. This is not an enjoyable club. There are plenty of better options around Denver to have fun!

The Church is such a beautiful venue and I can't emphasize that enough! On top of being a gorgeous space the team there was a pleasure to work during an event series throughout the beginning of this year. Our customers loved attending the events and we got perfect reviews. Fantastic experience all around for everyone. :) Definitely hit up CoClubs for all your future event needs. They have many options outside of Church I'm sure could fit any booking need you may have.

18+ venue, paid $30 for entry, my friend who is 22 (tonight, it's her birthday) is holding a beer as we walk up. One of the bouncers starts ID'ing everybody, sees I'm 19 and says I can't come in for 'underage drinking' and tells all of the bouncers around him not to let me in. Other bouncer tells me to just go to the 18+ club around the corner but the Church is 18+ too. This place would be 10x better without the asshole bouncers on a power trip.

Paid $30 cover fee for rude ass bartender/security to kick me out because some kid snatched my drink from the bar, she blamed me immediately and didn't hear me out that I did not know this person. The security also pressed his dick into my friends butt while he was patting him down and there were several male security guards just standing watching the woman pat us down. super wierd. Also the shot was $15.

Bartender's were awesome!!! Tipping here is definitely appreciated so tip with your heart Great people! My only complaint is ONE security guard through the night. I was with my group just hanging out and one guy came up to me And told me I had to put a shirt on ( which I do not mind) but neglected to go out into the crowd and inform others until the very end of the show....

This venue is not a safe place to drink and listen to music. I went for a show on 6/25 and some of my friends were assaulted by the security guards. The security guards were way more aggressive than necessary and ended up pinning my 150lb friend to the ground, and beat her up. Once the police came , they let us know that this happens every weekend and some people have gotten seriously injured at the hands of the security guards at the Church. If you are looking for a fun night at the club, do yourself a huge favor and choose a different venue. The Church should be closed permanently for what they do to their customers.

Erroneously charged me about $15 more than what I agreed to pay for a drink (should've been $13 plus tip but my cc statement shows $33). Never coming back here
