First and foremost, our wedding weekend brought tens of thousands of dollars in business to the Citizen with guests traveling from both in and out of state. Despite reaching out multiple times to secure group rates, we received no responses or call backs. Ultimately, we booked based solely on convenience and proximity to our venue and cathedral. Unfortunately, convenience and basic rest -- the very reasons we chose the Citizen--were exactly what we did not receive.||On the day of rehearsal, my bride spent the afternoon setting up at our venue, only to have to return home to prepare because our room was unavailable. After rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, we had to go home again, pack, and did not fully check in with our luggage until nearly 11:00 PM. Instead of being able to rest and prepare for one of the most important days of our lives, the experience became a stressful logistical nightmare.||What made matters worse was the reasoning given for the delay. We were told that "Elite" members were allowed to occupy our reserved room until 4:00 PM (see screenshot) despite the posted 3:00 PM check-in policy and the fact that our booking had been secured months in advance (January). Being notified only the morning of our check-in -- on the eve of our wedding -- was unacceptable. The only option presented was to leave our luggage in the lobby, which given the circumstances, did not feel safe or respectful.||Adding to the disappointment, my parents also encountered poor service. Upon check-in, their luggage was loaded onto a cart with the assurance it would be delivered to their room. After waiting 25 minutes, they -- both in their mid-60s and with mobility issues -- were forced to retrieve the cart themselves, as it had been left unattended. This lack of follow-through and consideration for guests with physical limitations is deeply troubling.||Overall, what should have been a seamless and celebratory stay was instead marked by stress, disrespect, and inconvenience for myself, my bride, and my family. Considering the significance of the occasion and the amount of business we and our guests brought here, we expected -- at the very least -- professionalism, courtesy, and reliable service.
