"The purpose of The City Street spa is to provide all the services one might look for in a traditional spa, but in an urban setting with busy schedules in mind. The treatment menu includes massages, facials, waxing, eyebrow shaping, and mani/pedis—all performed in a tranquil, minimalist environment. For the guys, there's face-mapping, manicures, and pedicures. There's a mini spa outpost a few blocks away that's really good about walk-ins. "

Disclaimer: This is my experience from a visit last year. I am only now writing a review because I got the same treatment in a different salon and realized what a big difference there was: I went for my first manicure with gel-polish. My nails looked clumpy and after one or two days the polish already peeled off. It looked horrible, so I got in contact with them and really had to push for another appointment for a soak-off (which I had to pay for, despite it clearly being an issue with either the product or technician). The place itself is nice and staff was pleasant.

Used to be my go-to place, but not anymore. The last two times I tried to make an appointment, I was called on the same day to be told it was cancelled. This happened two times in a row. On top of that, when I gave them my availability over the phone, they mistook the day I mentioned and scheduled the appointment for a completely different date. Really disappointing to see the lack of organization after being a loyal customer.

The nail tech is a friendly, nice, and clever person. This is the second time I have had my nails coloured with them, and somehow, they last a few days even without any activity that would affect them. Unfortunately, the quality isn’t great, and they never cover all the nails. Kinda good price but for one or 2 days tops.

I did my manicure last week 2nd February. The young girl who did was very careful but did not remove all my cuticles correctly and when I asked to do it she said it is very difficult for her. Despite that I was happy with the result but now not even 2 weeks after the manicure is destroyed. It did not last not even 2 weeks and generally I would not recommend this place. The venue is cute tho they offer free coffee but service is not great I think

Bad experience and worst customer service!! I went in for a Gel Soak off and Gel Manicure and the appointment took more than 2hrs instead of 45min and the quality was very bad (i.e. polish on the side of my fingers). I left a review on Classpass about this and the team responded that they checked and "the type of Gel you had was acrylic [...] therefore the process took longer which we didn't charge you for" which simply is not true! I had gotten my nails done at the same place 1 month before with their specific soak off Gel polish! (the first time my experience was really good) Looking through the classpass reviews, this is a response they frequently give to explain why an appointment took too long but according to classpass feedback rules, the practice has no way of knowing what specific person/appointment left a comment. So this whole thing is a very unfunny charade! I'm not the kind to leave feedback (especially negative) but I don't like to be lied to or the condescending tone they used to respond to my comment.

I tried three different types of massages here, including muscle release, but none of them were good. There was no real pressure, and the techniques didn’t feel effective. On top of that, the room was uncomfortably cold, making it hard to relax. Overall, a disappointing experience.

Went for a gel pedicure. They painted my big toes horribly and I asked them to do it again. When it looked lumpy and raised and uneven again, they said it was because my nails are "broken" but that makes no sense. The ridges on my nails are hidden with normal polish even. And when I touched this "ridge" it came off, obviously nail polish. Hoping I can somehow get a refund or my 40 ClassPass credits back.

I had my haircut with Guisi - she was so lovely and friendly. She did an amazing job on my hair. It has gone from long, boring and tangly to sharp, fresh and original, very happy with it. She gave some great advice - well worth trusting her expertise. Thank you :)

Yelp
This place is gorgeous, both inside and out. And the ladies that work here? Also wonderful, sweet and very very accommodating. But when I first arrived in Amsterdam, trying to find someplace who did great mani-pedi jobs? I thought, surely, a high-end, more expensive place will do a great job? Right? RIGHT? Again, service is wonderful and the whole space is so relaxing. There I was, peacefully sipping my carefully prepared mint tea and nibbling on pieces of coconut whilst the ladies prepared my friend and I for our treatments (birthday treat for the both of us), and as I was almost nodding off, I gaze upon the beautician as she prepares her tools. YEUWK! These tools had seen better days. These tools that were used on my precious little toes had also been used on many other precious (and possibly diseased) toes. How did I know this? Because the leftovers from the last person were still in the clippers that she was taking to my feet. Maybe multiple persons. GROSS.COM For fear of embarrassing my friend who seemed to having the time of her life in the seat next to me, I wince with every clip. Now, I know that these tools are used on everyone who requires a service to their nails (both hands and feet) but a good hygienic location would have sterilised the tools or at the very least, CLEANED OFF FROM THE LAST CUSTOMER (or three). Never again. Never ever again. If you fear for the safety of your nails, don't visit here. I repeat, don't visit here.

Yelp
Yes, as good as it gets. I was incorrigible from jet lag, and wandering the city streets of Amsterdam a day prior to a conference I was there to attend. I noticed the beautiful facade of The City Street Spa, and stopped in. They were so wonderful, and upon looking over the menu of services, I booked a massage for the next day. The City Street Spa offers an extremely calm, welcoming, environment and felt like I was personally being attended to at every step. I dressed in the provided robe, sat in the waiting lounge and met with Vanessa, my massage therapist. She asked a host of questions, and even had me complete a small checklist to identify my symptoms. I cannot explain how terrible this jet lag was, and she understood what type of aromatherapy to use on me. The private massage room is so open, and fresh and clean. She placed a soothing bowl of lavender oil underneath the table so I could inhale the aromas. This delighted and really relaxed me. Then, she got to work. I cannot remember the last time I had a massage so specific to my needs. So many massage therapists in NYC use a formula, or a map not giving any attention to your personal pain points. Not Vanessa, she was very melodic in her treatment, and she worked a lot on my hips to release tension from sitting so much. Just typing this now, I wish I could go back to Amsterdam for another appointment. I also discovered the oils they use, Aromatherapy Associates. While I could not afford to purchase oil that day, I have since and am amazed at the effectiveness of their products. Book with Vanessa, an aromatherapy massage. It's well worth it. Your body and spirit will thank you.

Yelp
I'm breaking the rule of reviewing a place after more than one visit, because I'm not coming back there! Went for a manicure, and, well, I have polish on my nails... that's all I've got! So, no soaking, no cuticle trimming, no cutting the rough skin off at least a little bit, no scrub, no hand cream - not that I've expected everything, but seriously, not even a hand cream or cuticle oil? The place has "spa" in the name... What I got was: 1) cuticle removal cream right when I sat down, 2) pushing the cuticle down, not really carefully as I could see it was staying where it was and 3) nail polish. That's it and that's "manicure", described on the website as "Your nails will be filed to your desired shape and your cuticles pushed back and trimmed, followed with a hand massage. Your nails will then be polished to perfection in a colour of your choice". No hand massage, no trimming. The color is beautiful though! What was even worse I think the staff did not realize I understand Dutch... so they were discussing if they can sell me the polish. literally, like, can you bring the polish maybe I can sell it. I saw it sitting on the counter and deliberately ignored it. Trust? Caring for the customer? I'll be back and buy from the salon, and usually do, because I trust the beautician to suggest the best treatment - be it face, nails, whatever. But this was just not cool at all! Too bad, it's perfect location, fits perfectly in my Saturday routine and I was hoping to be able to book them for some other treatments, as it's on the way from the Dutch class. Will stick to places I know then. Not coming back!!

Yelp
Third review, this relates all to le petit store...I'm a fan. Romie is the girl with the glasses. Love her. We chit chat and she does my nails shellac or simple manicure like a GIRLBOSS. I'm trying to stay off the shellac for a while (funds) so I switch it up with manicures and I like to go to talk with my Romie. So, there you go. My nails tiptop and her and I connect. She is raw, direct and so sweet.

Yelp
Centrally located, great customer service and great prices. The first time I looked to Yelp for a facial, I didn't have a good experience and resolved to only have them when I visit the states. That lasted about 3 months and instead of Yelp I found a couple of "best of" websites that referred to this gem. Love that they have a steamer for facials and the beautician had a full understanding of the products she was using. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Friendly staff, great treatments and wonderful location. A must for Amsterdam visitors who want to unwind as well as explore!

Yelp
Unfortunately one has to be very specific about who one goes to here for treatments. The quality and service really varies. They also don't really care about keeping their loyal customers. Too bad. Have been going for a few years and am considering a change...
