The food I ordered was DELICIOUS! I had the home fries(side) and the Migas for breakfast. I also had coffee. I wished they had at least one "basic" breakfast option for a meal like meat, potatoes, eggs, and toast.... but I always wish breakfast places offered that so that's just a personal preference. I was traveling with a group and everyone was happy with their order and especially the service.

Anthony was amazing!! Delicious food, indoor/outdoor seating, and chill vibes. Love there is almond and oat milk options for lattes.

We received excellent hospitality during brunch—it was such a pleasure meeting Chef Tyler. Everything was fantastic—the food (shrimp Alfredo) and shrimp and grits), the drinks (Blood Orange Paloma), and the vibe! Melissa was an exceptional server—she showed up right on time and was attentive, even clearing empty drink glasses promptly, which you don’t see often anymore.

Charming restaurant with excellent food and service. There is outside or inside seating and it’s located in the heart of Country Club Plaza steps away from great shopping, hotels, bars, restaurants and the beautiful Fountain in Mill Creek Park. We have enjoyed breakfast here on numerous occasions and it’s definitely our go to for brunch. Food ranges from fresh fruit, baked goods, waffles all the way to hearty burgers, salmon and more! Reasonable price, fast, family friendly service and the food is delicious. Highly recommend checking out this cafe!

Was in town for a work event and was drawn in by the great reviews. The service was wonderful, but the food was bad except for the cheesy grits. My brisket hash's poached eggs were essentially hard boiled with the brisket and potatoes burnt. My boyfriend had the Migas and it was cold and under seasoned. It could of just been an off day in the kitchen with timing and quality. Just be wary of checking this place out. Was expecting better with the reviews and full restaurant.

This place used to be so classy and upscale. Today I went with my mom. Hostesses very rude and acted as if we bothered them. They first said there was a 30 minute wait although the restaurant was 2/3 empty. They blamed the kitchen. They then sat us at a table on top of air conditioning vents blowing. They then sat us at a booth with all the seat torn up. Our server was very nice but it’s unfortunate this place has gone majorly downhill and after being a customer for nearly 15 years we won’t return!

What a cute cafe! The coffee was delicious, the food was even better. I got the Pacific Northwest Benedict and it was soooo good! The poached eggs was so perfect. The potatoes were seasoned well too :)) My boyfriend got the Smoked Brisket Hash and tbh I wish I got his! He really liked all of it, he cleared his plate. Next time we come here I'm definitely will get that. We sat outside and it was super comfortable. They have umbrellas in case its too sunny. They were very consistent with keeping our cups of water and coffee full :)) Thank you for the great service!

Nice brunch cafe at the heart of the Plaza in Kansas City. Loved the ambience, and service. The food is really good and the popularity of this place can be seen from the large crowds waiting to get in. We did not make reservations but were able to be seated and served very quickly. Highly recommend.

This was the perfect spot for my birthday breakfast. We were staying in the Plaza, and it was just a short walk from our hotel so no parking stress. The space is bright and airy with tons of natural light and since it was a beautiful sunny day, this place made it a great start to the morning. The staff was so friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. I went with the pancakes and bacon which was so good and my boyfriend loved his biscuits and gravy. This is such a cute little spot for breakfast or brunch if you're in the area.

This is a nostalgic stop for me.. coming home to KC I thought this would be a great place to meet friends for breakfast. Large tables.. it was perfect. The hostess didn't say a peep when I walked in so I totally missed her! That was a bit odd. Our server was excellent, food was excellent. We like the CC

The service was amazing, we sat outside in the front and the vibes were great but the food itself is mid. The vanilla latte was incredibly sweet and the hollandaise sauce was watery but the potatoes were delicious. If you go and it's nice out ask to set outside in the front that way you have a cute view. We had a reservation but I heard they had about a hour wait so be aware of that.

Great spot for brunch! We sat outside and enjoyed our meal. The eggs Benedict with smoked salmon (Pacific Northwest Benedict) was very good. The cinnamon roll sounded amazing so we ordered that, too. It was BIG (definitely a shareable order), but I felt it was a bit dry.

I had a fantastic ratatouille sandwich on a rainy summer day and the combination of flavors was wonderful.

Food was wonderful, service was fabulous, and loved the ambiance! We split the quiche lorraine and the ratatouille sourdough sandwich; we added on the fries which were great, side of fresh fruit, and tomato bisque soup! So good.

Disappointed... I have always loved coming here over the years and RSVP'd for brunch weeks in advance to celebrate my sister-in-law's bachelorette weekend (only 4 of us in attendance so not a large party). We were seated at our table and took a while to be waited on. We then sat at our table for over 60 minutes with no check-in from our waitress or warning that the kitchen was backed up. We nearly missed our spa appointment and never got our food. We would have really appreciated a warning when we checked in about how long food service was taking that day and would've been more appreciative to come back a different day and go somewhere else to actually have time to eat. We left hungry, frustrated and rushed to our following appointment on a day that was meant for fun and relaxation.

We have been here several times and every time we are satisfied. Classic Cup is delicious. Everything we have tried has been excellent. They have a coffee bar so you can have drip coffee and/or espresso. I personally love the cold brew. Service is always fast. Wait staff is terrific. Ambience is nice. You can sit inside or outside.

Another great spot walking distance from the Hilton. Get there early as there was quite a line at the 9:00 am opening time. We sat on the front covered patio, although the side/ back one has lots of umbrellas. I wish we had got to that one because the traffic noise can be loud and distracting out front. Service, even though they were fairly busy was prompt. My wife ordered the chicken salad sandwich and fries while I had the biscuits and gravy with home fries. They have all day breakfast and lunch here, so depending on your mood, they have you covered. She enjoyed the ciabatta bread hers was served on and the fries had a satisfying crunch when bit into. My biscuits were a tad hard on the bottom, requiring a knife to cut them, but they had great flavor and the sausage gravy was quite savory. We will return on our next visit.

I ordered the biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon, and I honestly wasn't impressed. I felt that the biscuits were a bit dry, the gravy quite bland, and the bacon nothing to write home about. I would have been more impressed with Big Biscuit or Corner Cafe. If the prices were more reasonable, I don't think I'd be as critical of my review. I would not go back unless my friends all wanted to go.

BAD PLACE. NEVER GOT OUT FOOD. We made reservations here at least two weeks in advance. We got here and we sat inside. Right over a vent. It was freezing. The waitress was nice at first, took our orders and everything was going fine. 45 mins later, we still hadn't gotten our food so we asked her to check on it. She said they would be another 15 mins but they were slammed because the patio was full. Meanwhile, the inside was nearly empty. They shouldn't be prioritizing the patio if we had gotten there 45 minutes beforehand. After waiting more, she came back and said it would be 15 mins. So we said ok we can wait but we have another appointment to get to (we had 2 hrs to eat and get there which seemed like plenty of time) so we'll have to rush and take the check now. Then another 5 minutes goes by and she comes back and say she isn't confident it would be done in 15. At this point it has been over an hour that we've been waiting and we really had no time to wait more and be able to eat so we left. They didn't charge for our drinks and I wouldn't have paid even if they did. It sounds like she just forgot to put in our order and was blaming everything else... for her to not even come check and give us updates on when our food out be out is crazy. Never coming here again. BOOOOO

Pretty much a local diner so was not what we expected for a fun Friday morning in the city Not crowded at all Maybe a different location would be better as we heard good things about this spot

Went back here recently for breakfast. We had Friday off and decided to have breakfast on the now declining Plaza. Food was wonderful. I had the Brisket hash. Flavor was great and quantity was satisfying. Get a cinnamon roll to start off -just because. Service was wonderful. Our waiter was great. This place was packed too. The food is overpriced, let's just get that out of the way. Breakfast does not nor should it cost this much. You're paying for location. Ambiance is great. They also offer some interesting meal options. Coffee was excellent and I never had to ask for a refill.

This is my go to place on the Plaza. Outdoor seating and great food. I choose this place over all the fancy places every time.

We came to see "La Copa America 2024" and we stayed at the Hilton Country Club. The first morning it rained a lot so we looked for a place to have breakfast nearby. We found The Classic Cup cafe and the truth is that we were very lucky to find it. Inside it is nice and clean. Our waitress was professional and friendly. We went again today and we had the same waitress, Nailey ( not sure if her name spelled like that, dark hair, glasses, very sweet) When she arrived at the table, she brought water as we asked for yesterday, she remembered what we had eaten (there were 4 of us) and she also remembered our tastes in food and asked us if we would pay the bill in two different cards like yesterday. What a memory! and she was so kind to us. I ordered the famous pancakes they offering and I think they were the most delicious pancakes I have ever eaten, good grits, delicious bacon, totally recommended.

Food was seasoned to preference. Server ( George) was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable. I had the chicken and waffles. Excellent flavor, just could have used more of the wild mushroom gravy. She had salmon salad. Very tasty.

We went here for a team brunch. The Manager was so helpful when I called to make a reservation. The service was fantastic and food was great!

Food is good for brunch! Service was good as well. In terms of value for dollar, I'd say the prices were a bit high for the amount of food you get (got the hash). Inside can get loud so would recommend sitting outside if you can.

I really love this place! I have been here a couple of times and it has always been a really enjoyable experience. I always make a reservation and it goes smoothly every time. My servers have been really sweet and attentive, even when it was busy on Easter! I have tried the hummus, avocado tartine, everything bagelwich, and pot pie. The bagelwich and hummus are must haves for me. They are delicious! I have also tried their espresso martini which is just so yummy. I am excited to try their cup club next time I go!

Food was great as well as the service. We really enjoyed the biscuits and gravy as well as the northwest Benny. We will definitely be back.

We enjoyed our experience here. We had a very short time to order, eat, and her to our next Saturday activity. Our food came out hot and fast!! The scimeca omelette was delicious. They did not skimp on the sausage and I loved it. My drink was amazing as well. Great spot for breakfast/brunch. Cute and simple decor nothing fancy, good service, worthy to add to your brunch list. I live nearby so I have eaten here from time to time, but always something wrong, from dirty flatware to dried lipstick on glassware or wilted salad, I hesitate to eat here again. They are quick to discount the meal but I just can't give a higher rating.

The location is perfect for an intimate breakfast or lunch during a work day or a fun day out. The food is always reliable and delicious. I love their coffee. The staff is always nice.

Food here has always been great. I am especially fond of the Eggs Benedict. That coupled with a great location and service makes the restaurant a winner.

The Classic Cup is just that. It is a Classic on the Plaza. Since 1977 they have been pleasing the KC faithful. It comes as no surprise to us. We love this place, and it is a go-to staple. No matter how many times we staycation in KC, at least one morning starts here. This morning we went crazy. How can you be super hungry after stuffing yourself the night before? I never really understand. Start me off with an Irish Coffee. Why? No short pour here; they nail it. Today I want the Sicilian Omelet. Once again no shortage of ingredients, and the sausage flavor is so good. Get it. Just get it. Off the charts good, as are the potatos. (Ask for them to make them extra crispy) Want something other than the Sicilian? Migas is excellent, and the biscuits and gravy are soooo good! BTW I not only had the Sicilian but split an order of pancakes. Don't judge me. I told you right at the start I was hungry. Don't miss this cafe. It is rated in the top ten cafes in America, and for me, it is simply number one. Enjoy KC people; our city is great.

Grabbed lunch at the classic cup while on the plaza. We went on a Friday around noon, and there were plenty of spots. I ordered the Reuben with fries. The meat on the sandwich was dry, but it had good flavor overall. Fries were perfect and service was great.

I LOVE the classic cup! It has great atmosphere and is a lovely place to brunch! The service is always great too.

Good food. Quick service. Great location! pancakes, migas was good! Bacon! Coffee. Only down side is their extra charge to use credit card so have debit card or cash. Not big deal since food and service was good

A must try! I am a breakfast/brunch gal and loved the staff, food, and coffee! is an important piece to my breakfast and it was so good. I highly recommend. Looking forward to coming back and trying some lunch as well.

Great place for breakfast! Our waitress was really friendly and sweet. There was 5 of us. I had the Everything Bagelwich with the chive cream cheese on the side. It was great! My friends split the vegetable omelets and were happy. The coffee was good. The food came pretty quickly. Definitely would go again!

The Classic Cup Cafe did not disappoint. We lived in KC for 8 years prior to moving to CA 12 years ago. I was so happy that the old was exactly like I remembered. The food was amazing, staff courteous and the ambiance was amazing.

FOOD mediocre meal of brisket & eggs with wilted spinach ATMOSPHERE small space but clean SERVICE superb wait staff for a party of 14. In conclusion, I'm unsure I'd try this place again. I heard the pancakes & cinnamon rolls are great.

Wow the seasonal stuffed French toast was so good and filling. The pumpkin syrup was great and a good fall addition. Even in a big group they refilled out coffees and waters full every time.

Cozy, comfortable spot with a great outdoor seating area! The food is delicious, and the seasonal menu is always a go-to. Friendly, quick staff, and in a very walkable area.

Haven't been back to Classic Cup in many years and they now are only open for breakfast and lunch. Came here for brunch on a Sunday after staying on the plaza with girlfriends. Solid food, takes reservations, good fast service. We shared the cinnamon roll which was delicious and then 2 of us shared the everything bagel sandwich which was fine but the potatoes were great.

The smoked brisket hash was full of flavor and the potatoes were crispy. The service was efficient and fast. There are options to sit either inside the restaurant or outdoors on the patio.

This groovy little spot dials up the ambiance with delicious food and friendly service. My veggie omelette was divine and my hubby enjoyed his western style open face breakfast burrito. We ate inside due to rain but look forward to dining on one of the patios the next time we visit.

We were in Kansas City walking around downtown when we came upon this cute restaurant. It looked very quaint breakfast menu was all day, so we decided to try it. The inside is very cute. We were waited on right away and gave the server our orders. The server brought waters to our table. Right away, I noticed there were lip marks on my glass-no made by me. The food came out pretty quickly. First, the soup. My tomato bisque was very good as well as the ham and bean. I got the quiche Lorraine. It was very thick and had a pretty thick crust. One side of it was a little cold while the other was nice and hot. It was a little undercooked and somewhat runny on the inside. The Moroccan chicken sandwich was good. The French fries were very good....nice and crunchy.

The Philly cheese steak soup was mediocre at best and the Cesar salad had virtually no dressing. The French toast was less than average and the syrup was worse - like water. However, The chicken salad sandwich was good. I always ask myself - would I come back and or would I order this dish again. No to both.

The location has great food and the people-watching is the best! Plus, the location feels like a small cafe, but also a kinda fancy restaurant.
